Ive been cutting my hair myself for over 10 years and gave a lot of trust to the stylist, and by the end, she has earned my deepest gratitude. I got my hair bleached and cut, giving the stylist (Rachael) a lot of creative freedom and she knocked it out of the park. The color craft was excellent, she did a very subtle fade on the sides/back, and the overall look was beyond my expectations. Ill be going back again and my girlfriend also wants to get some work done there now as well.P.S. I have bald spot on my left temple, it’s not a mistake !

The new salon space is so welcoming, spacious, and beautiful! Justin does an AMAZING job with my cut and color every time. I leave the salon feeling confident and so happy with my hair, and I can’t highly recommend him enough.

Saw Jessica at the wonderful new location on Carlton. Good Covid procedures, even now that the mask mandate was lifted. The cut is beautiful and just what I wanted. Jessica is friendly, professional, and makes you feel very comfortable. At $45 for a cut, its well worth it! (plus a tip!)

Booked my first haircut in over 16 months and moved back to Virginia after almost 7 years, and went to a place Id gone only once before and like that first haircut there, they were great! The front desk associate was super welcoming, the space was clean and bright, and Angela T. was fantastic at helping me decide what length and how to style it! Definitely returning again!

Niko was the best! It’s been a long time since I’ve been this happy with a cut and color. And you can’t beat the price! 100% recommend.

I called ahead to see if they were open and if they were still taking customers for the night, but no one answered. I arrived 17 minutes before closing and the receptionist said they won’t help any more customers. When I asked if my call was received earlier, she said, “Oh! Was that you?”

Never answered phone but was able to confirm an appointment via text. Two hours before the appointment, they cancelled with a family emergency but didnt offer me any other options except an appointment on another day.

My wife thoroughly enjoyed her first post-pandemic hair cut here. Stylist (Jessica) followed instructions, but also provided quality recommendations as well.

Decent job cutting my hair. Its a straight cut and there are some longer stragglers that shouldnt be there. Nice framing around the face. Blow dried with a brush but no real styling. I redid it when I got home. Over $48 with tip so pricey for what you get.

Anna is amazing. SO talented; I have challenging curly hair with a couple of cowlicks & she cuts it so beautifully. Anna really listens and works with you to give you the haircut that you want. She is very patient and personable. Cannot speak highly enough of her skill and professionalism. I can’t recommend this salon enough! The workers are very professional and do an amazing job. The environment is also fun and creates an enjoyable experience no matter how long you’re there! Cutting Edge Salon: 4 starsNiko: 0 stars20 min prior to my appointment I got a strange text asking me if I can delay by 30 min, annoying but fine things happen...I get there at the later time, it is clear that Niko is still working on the previous client, he doesnt look even close to being ready and now its past even the pushed back appointment time, I ask him when he can take me and he starts giving me attitude and being incredibly rude. He proceeded to push me off to Angelina, who was courteous and did an amazing job. This place is fine as long as you get an appointment with anyone besides Niko, what a rude unpleasant person.

Got a fantastic cut from Daniel. He does great work with men’s hair, is a perfectionist, and is knowledgeable when it comes to styling. I would highly recommend him for men who want shorter to medium length cuts. The price was great too!

While my stylist, justin, was kind and my hair does feel healthier. he cut off AT LEAST 6-8 more inches than i said i was comfortable with and the style is nothing like my reference photos. i walked out hating my hair.

Jessica is FABULOUS with long hair. Really understands how to keep length while adding long layers that help with body and movement. Left with a beautiful blowout. The salon is clean, punctual and reasonably priced. Very happy!

Niko was a true professional. He really listened to what I wanted and I left the salon feeling like I got exactly what I was hoping for. He was extremely personable and did the little things to make me more comfortable (e.g. towel under neck and stool for feet at shampoo bowl). Justin is awesome! It had been a long time since my last balayage and there was just the tiniest hint of blonde left on my dark brown hair. On our first visit I explained my vision of a brightened hue for summer and Justin left me with the most beautiful caramel/honey, sun kissed, super well blended look. Cut was spot on, too! Katia is amazing with curly hair. First time having a Diva Cut specifically for curly hair people. She’s well trained, listens to what you want, steers you in the right direction and is very sweet. I had never been to The Cutting Edge Salon before and don’t often get my haircut, however my husband made me an appointment yesterday and I had such a wonderful experience! I had to reschedule my appointment twice due to my forgetfulness and Nico was so nice about it. When I went in I knew I was getting a few inches chopped off and since I had never been there before my stomach was churning a little but Angelia did such a wonderful job I will definitely be going to her for all my future haircuts! Everyone I interacted with was wonderful and for such a nice salon their prices aren’t exorbitant either! Definitely recommend this salon!

Today was my first time here and I had such a wonderful haircut by Jessica. She was so thorough and professional. My hair was really long, uneven and thick when I went in, and I came out with exactly what I had hoped for. Will definitely come back. And her rates were very reasonable I thought.

Anna is the best and actually took the time to make suggestions for my specific hair type which never happens at other salons Ive been to! I have thick, slightly wavy hair and she knew exactly what to do to take the weight off and blend the layers; my hair normally looks choppy with too many layers but Anna did a great job!

The salon was very attentive to my needs. I initially was not as excited about my cut so, i went back and got my hair cut done by Anna (the salon owner). She did an incredible job! My mom and I came in for a trial run of bridal hair and makeup, and Anna and Hope made us feel like princesses! Linda is the most wonderful hairdresser Ive ever had! I wish I could give more than 5 starts! She truly is an artist and the joy she exudes while hairdressing is on full display with the wonderful haircuts Ive recieved from her! I was there just last night to get my hair fully dyed (from brunette to blonde) and she did amazing! Linda is one of a kind!

I followed Ashley from a previous salon - she is wonderful! She always listens to my concerns and does my hair exactly as I want it. She is meticulous. Also, I love the atmosphere at The Cutting Edge - it is nice and clean and sunny (when there is sun) with lots of windows, and the owners are very sweet and friendly.

Anna was wondeful and very gifted. She was able to calm my over dramatic reaction to a recent coloring and educated me on my hair’s ability. I came in hating my hair color to loving my hair and knowing how to take care of it ! She is the owner and really cares about what her client wants! Just got my hair cut by Erica (Erika?) for the first time, and I feel like she saved me. She managed to listen to what I wanted, show me what worked and what didnt work about my previous haircut (and why), give me a knockout mens cut, recommend some new products, and style me up, all in about 20 minutes, and all while providing great conversation. The salon is hip and everyone was very friendly, and it is wicked affordable for men. Will go back for sure.

First time at Cutting Edge last week as I had to find a new stylist. Just went for a cut and style to try out this salon and had a great experience. I have VERY thick and naturally wavy hair down below my collar bone which has challenged many stylists before (was not looking forward to doing the exhaustive search again for some one who understands thick hair). Luckily, I dont have to look further! Not only was the price very reasonable, owner Anna was my stylist and really listened to what I wanted as well as paid attention to what had been done previously to my hair to make sure she followed a similar cut (per my request). She kept me informed of what she was doing along the way and why, and made suggestions of how to cut my hair differently so it laid right. She also trimmed and framed when dried so she could see exactly how it laid. The whole experience was pleasant, comfortable, and the ladies were friendly. The location is great (easy parking on Dice) and the shop has so much natural light that you get to see how your hair will actually look outside (important especially for doing color). I love my hairstyle, the employees, and am definitely going back to do some color (check out the balayage)!

Excellent experience! Super friendly staff. I got a partial highlight and cut- did a wonderful job. I left with super silky and soft hair that was styled meticulously and perfectly. The color came our very natural looking but brightened my overall hair- which was exactly what I wanted.

I went to another salon for a trim and ended up with a horrible cut. I walked into The Cutting Edge Salon near closing time and not only did they that horrible chop job a makeover into one of the best cuts Ive had the price was extremely decent. The work area was clean the decor. interesting all in all an excellent experience!

I wouldnt recommend this place for men. My wife had a great hair cut but mine was bad. My hair was not in proper shape and I had multiple scratches in my neck. I had to go for another hair cut in a week to make it better.

Very nice place. I walked in and the salon was very clean and pleasant. The wait was minimal. The haircut was fast and exactly what I wanted. However, the best part about the salon are the associates. They were very friendly and personable. The entire time I waited, the receptionist carried on a friendly conversation and when I was with the stylist she did likewise. I am a fan of customer service and they definitely provided that. Visited The Cutting Edge for this first time this past weekend and had a wonderful experience! Got a great cut, a free hand scrub/massage and some delightful little chocolates! The salon is modern and local and the employees are talented and energetic. I got a wash, cut and dry for a very reasonable price of less than $40.I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

If you want good service and incredible hair then skip out on this place and go to Bubbles Salon in the Barrack’s Shopping Center.Justin did my hair and ruined it. He didn’t listen to what I was looking for and literally did the opposite of what I asked for. I showed him photos and he still managed to mess it up. I spent six hours there and still left with hair that was messed up completely.After a few weeks, I went to Bubbles Salon on Emmet St and saw Katie and she fixed what Justin ruined. Katie made my hair beautiful and she is absolutely incredible.

The whole experience was great. From the warm greeting to leaving happily. The cut was not only very professional but quite educational. The stylist was very knowledgeable and seemed to really get my hair...and she also let me know how to best work with it between cuts. Highly recommended.

Up until my salon visit, I been using box dye on my very long hair. My ends were extremely dead and I ended up having to cut about six inches off. My stylist, Esther helped make me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process (even though I was freaking out a little ) and I left loving my new haircut.

Mike is the only person I will go for a hair cut anymore. He is very friendly, knows hair well and is the first person who has ever cut my hair that I keep going back to. He also keeps great notes for when you see him again! I could not recommend him higher.

This is the first salon I have ever visited in lieu of the standard barbershop and honestly, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I chose this establishment because I was looking for something more than the usual haircut. These folks were very friendly and listened to what I was looking for. Best haircut I have ever had.

The salon indicates that it can specializes in wavy hair. I hate to write a bad review but the stylist, Jordan, was so obviously uninterested and, regrettably, unskilled that I felt I needed to say something. I asked in my appointment request fro other stylists mentioned in the reviews but was given Jordan. She heard me out and then proceeded to do blunt cut on coarse wavy hair with short bangs. It looks like a wig. I described in some detail how good haircuts in the past had been done, showed her a picture, and (curiously) she did the opposite. I wish I had not gone or perhaps interrupted her to say use the scissors at an angle please . She was pretty bored by the whole thing. It was inexpensive but I actually did not do my research on the salon for price. I was looking for someone who could do wavy hair. Sigh - guess I will wait the 6 weeks and try again elsewhere. Dont go to this salon if you have wavy hair.
