Today marks exactly a month and a day since I have moved into my apartment here. I’m in love with the amenities. Between the two gyms, clubhouse and beautiful pool, I hardly ever know what to do with myself when I’m off. Zaire helped me through my entire rental process from start to finish. I did my application and was taken care of that very day with a tour of the apartment and premises. Any issues I have had, have been taken care of in a prompt, matter and with a sense of urgency. All in all, from the rental process, to the actual grounds and apartments, things are well kept and being taken care of. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you to Zaire and the entire team at the Abbington Crossings office. You provide truly exceptional service and it really sets you apart. Keep up the good work ! :)

Abbington crossing is the best place I ever lived in US. The maintenance team were very fast and reliable in order to response our request. The community patrol was very quick in order to handle our noise complaint. Apartment is very cozy with a good appliances and the rent is pretty cheap for this area. I love the all year around pool. Virgil is the best apartment personnel. He had help me when I had issue with printer at business center. Sadly, I had to move to Farifax. Otherwise, I would stay there forever. Good Job Folks. Thank you so much for taking care us for 2 years.

I recently moved from Miami to Charlottesville and I must say that the entire team here made this process incredibly easy! The team at Abbington Crossing, especially Jeff, went above and beyond to help me with this move. He was always available to answer my questions and help guide me with important locations and services here in Charlottesville. Most importantly he helped me set up a quick zoom tour of the apartment so I would be able to get the right furniture for my move! I am incredibly happy with my new apartment and especially to live in a community with such great staff.

Staff here is great they always make sure my concerns and problems are resolved in a timely mannor. As an example, I was having packages delivered when I was out of town and called the front office to see if they could hold them for me. They did it with no issues or whinning. But what really impressed me was I had additional packages delivered the next day that I wasnt aware of. One of the staff members, Jeffery, called and asked me if I was still out of town and if I wanted them to hold the additional packages that were sitting at my front door. It was nice to know they actually cared about my packages and not just doing their job when I called the first time.

Honest Review: I felt catfished. I moved across the country and I expected that what I saw online was what the apartment looked like. Pros: location + maintenance staff. Stainless steel appliances. Cons: Kids are everywhere running up and down the street with barely any supervision. There are meters and mismatched AC units next to every front door. You can hear everything above you. I could hear people getting out of bed, their dogs walking around, and toilets flushing. I understand its apartment living, and I expect some noise, but this was a bit much in comparison to every other apartment I have lived at. The wood is sheet plank, so it scratches easily. The sidewalks and stairs are cracked and look horrible. Depending on where you live, there may be a hill so steep to get to the front door that you have to park 4-5 doors down to bring your groceries or other items up. The office staff has changed so much from the one year that I lived there (I moved out a couple months ago), that you couldnt get to know anyone. One time they told me pest control was coming, I paid to get my dog boarded for the day, and they never came. They never informed me why but asked for me to secure her the next day as well. It was mildly annoying. Also, I was paying over $1,300 for this apartment which honestly was super annoying because other neighbors were paying 100-200 less for the same type of updated apartment home. One time, I was laying in bed and a man walked into my apartment home. I asked why he was there and he said that the office told him to come in and get it ready for the next person, this was an obvious mistake. Anyways, I took the first opportunity I could and left. I would recommend viewing the place yourself and not trusting the photos online. Thats what I wish I would have done!

Reasonably priced and maintenance not the worst I’ve seen, but they really stick it to you when you move out. They charged me to replace the carpet (which was worn when I moved in). I lived alone and never had children or pets visit, so I couldn’t possibly have worn out the carpet in less than a year. They said it had a quarter size oil spot on the bottom side of the carpet which was invisible on the top. Glad to be rid of this shabby management team; I will never rent from Weinstein Properties again!

We have lived in two or three different apartments here, and at first we absolutely loved everything about it. Our first apartment was beautiful, and even our second, although the appliances were a bit outdated, we loved everything else about that apartment as well. However, because of the appliances being outdated, we were constantly having trouble with our refrigerator and washer, and had to call maintenance NUMEROUS times. That wouldn’t be quite that bad if we also didn’t have to wait sometimes 12+ hours for someone to even show up. Our family really loves living here, so this huge inconvenience wasdisappointing because it’s the reason we left them.

I have been living at Abbington for about 6 months now and have truly enjoyed the experience. Everyone on staff is so friendly and maintenance is great. My favorite thing is just how much the ladies in the office care, with all the people that live here they all know me, and my dog!, by name. That truly means a lot, I’m not just another resident I am treated as an individual person and that is not something commonly found. My one complaint is that my upstairs neighbors can be a little loud with their music, the walls are a little thin, but that is understandable when you live in an apartment! Overall I love it here and cannot wait for the pool to open!

Abbington Crossing has made a very difficult time in my life so much easier. I needed to abruptly move out of my former home and find a place very quickly. I was overwhelmed in my apartment search and visited/called multiple places. Abbington was by far the easiest to talk to and deal with. Kate Terrell was very informative and extremely professional while helping me find my new home. She showed me all of the great amenities Abbington had to offer, such as the pool, gym and billiards room. Kate was prompt and informative when we were emailing. She realized that I was very busy with work and I felt comfortable telling her about my situation. She was very sensitive to my needs and wants and helped me find the perfect place! I would recommend Abbington Crossing to anyone looking for a great place to live and a great overall leasing experience!!

Newly renovated apartments that are all equally great with updated kitchen, bath, and appliances. One can even opt for apartment feature upgrades! All staff have been courteous and prompt in replies for any questions that may have arisen. The entire leasing process was flawless and SIMPLE, WORRY, HASSLE free!Maintenance deserves a HUGE kudos! Requests are either placed online, through the phone, or leasing office. All maintenance requests I have ever placed were completed within just a few hours and sometimes under 30 minutes to come out to address the maintenance request! That is customer service! All my requests were minor- I cant fathom how fast the 24 hour emergency service requests are answered!OVERALL I am extremely satisfied with Abbington Crossings and would recommend to anyone without reservation! I relocated to Charlottesville from Pennsylvania from initial communications via phone to receiving the keys and calling Abbington Crossings home was amazing!

Abbington Crossing is a great place to live. I would like to preface everything with that I serve in the military. This brings many unique challenges when moving to a new area. Abbington worked with me to ensure that I had an apartment when I moved into town and that everything was good to go. I just went to the office, got the keys, and went to my new apartment. I have had to call maintenance twice, but they responded within 24 hours in both occasions (not urgent fixes). If you have a dog Abbington provides animal cleanup stations all around the property to keep everything clean. In addition, there is a smaller dog park (better than nothing) and a old tennis court that the dogs can run around in. Everybody in the community seems to be rather nice, and it provides for a nice living environment. Abbington also provides a business center, fitness center, and pool for public use. The price for water is calculated a little funny though. Every building has a meter and the total usage is split based on the number of bedrooms and occupants per unit. I pay around $48 per month and only use about $20 in water. Not a huge deal, but worth sharing in this review. Although the rent/water is a tad expensive for the area, overall it is a nice place to live. I would recommend it to a friend.

Overall, this apartment complex lacks competent management. The overall condition of the apartments is appalling. Of the five windows in the apartment, four of them have been unable to lock at some point or another in the past two months, causing a serious safety issue. The staff is in no hurry to solve the security issue, as one window is still broken going on six weeks, this after being promised it would be fixed within two weeks (now four weeks overdo).I also recently had a bat living in my apartment. It took emergency maintenance over four hours to arrive to attempt to handle the situation. After not finding the bat, they said that they think its probably gone and they will come back later to check again. After hearing the bat for a second consecutive night, management does nothing and tells me to continue living in my apartment, even though they agree that a possibly rabid animal is living in there with me. The property manger takes over six hours to respond and does not offer any sort of hotel accommodation. She tells me that they will send someone the next day and to stay in my apartment. The management then claims that the next day they spent two hours plugging holes and searching for the bat to no avail. I come home to find that they did not actually plug any holes and that the property manger lied to me once again. I hear the bat for the third consecutive night and call the exterminator. He tells me that the apartment complex told him to not come back as they did not want his help and that they (maintenance) would handle the situation the next day. I then called the emergency maintenance line and it took leaving eight messages over a course of two hours to finally get a response and someone out to my apartment.I find it extremely inappropriate and irresponsible to ignore a residents messages and tell a resident to continue living with an animal that the Center for Disease Control considers to be rabid. After speaking with a Health Department official about the situation, they agreed that the management of this complex practiced negligence in this situation. This is on top of the fact that there was a stabbing in the apartment complex not even three weeks ago that they never notified residents about. The property manager and the staff at this apartment complex do not care about the wellness and safety of their residents. I would never want even my worst enemy to live here.

We lived here for about nine months, and had an exceptional experience with Abbington Crossing Apartments. The lease signing was simple and clear; they were very up front about what it would take to terminate the lease (something we expected might happen), and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Maintenance calls were addressed in a timely manner. The only downsides were the thin walls and a large street light outside our room that was like our own personal sun in the dead of night (fixed with a blackout curtain). There was a minor issue with the move out paperwork that I thought would be difficult to fix, but they addressed it immediately. It has excellent value for money, not to mention the amenities and beautiful mountain view. These are not luxury, but they are well maintained and certainly serviceable! Thanks for such a smooth experience!

I will not recommend this apartment to anyone especially the bottom floor apartments. Their windows and doors are not properly sealed and let in a lot of cold air during the winter months which end up costing a great deal of money. I am a heavy sleeper and I wake up every time my neighbor shuts their door or walks around upstairs. I have lived here for two years and had two interactions with their leasing office staff. Both times my interaction was very unpleasant. The manager does not return calls. When I finally make time in my busy schedule to actually go talk to them in person, they promised to get back to me but they never do. Their manager has done this both times I interacted with her. I have to admit that other staff members are very pleasant and their maintenance team responds promptly. So in short, decent place to live if you tolerate noise well and expect awful resident service if things go wrong and large rent increase during your stay.

So I quickly emailed her back and stated this. Waited next day no response. Then 3 days later, I sent message asking if she had seen earlier message. 3 days later, no response. So, I called. First person I spoke with transferred me to her, how they know I was speaking with her, who knows. I said are you Brittany yager, she says yes. I said I am trying to find out about bankruptcy and your credit check but you won’t respond to my emails. She says, most likely since you’re still paying it, you won’t be approved. That was all she said. Didn’t offer co-signer or anything else she could try. I guess this company doesn’t care about its clientele. I won’t even bother any longer. I will go to another complex.

I ended up only living here for 21 days thankfully before closing on my house. Imagine my surprise when they want to charge me over $1000 to replace the carpet. Really? I managed to ruin a supposedly new carpet in 21 days? Weinstein properties are just like every other scummy management company. The model apartment is super nice but the actual apartments smell like mildew or cigarette smoke. Make sure you document EVERYTHING on the move in inspection sheet. Pull up the carpet yourself and take pictures. Funny thing is I noted the stains on the carpet upon move in but it makes no difference I suppose. Definitely CYA and take pictures and or video otherwise they will scum you for every cent possible. The office staff will be as nice as can be until you move out and they want more money from you. If it were possible to give less than one star I would. If held at gun point and forced to give one positive about this apartment complex I guess I would say they have pretty nice grass, that is if people would pick up after their dogs.

I have been a resident of the Abbington Crossing community for almost FIVE YEARS. In all my time living here I have not had any issues until this afternoon. My mother and I walked into the Clubhouse to make a cup of tea at the COMMUNITY refreshment counter, and the Property Manager AGGRESSIVELY approached ME. I politely informed her, I nor my mother, needed any help, but she CONTINUED to hover over ME. I went to pour water in its WATER RESERVOIR, and she YELLED at me not to put the water in its reservoir. I was completely alarmed by her HOSTILITY and I informed her that I have been a resident for a long time, and I knew where to place the water. The office has had to replace two other Keurig machines because the water supply was broken. In the past, the previous manager informed all of the resident a few years ago just to fill the water in a cup and pour it in its WATER RESERVOIR. She became very AGGRESSIVE and RUDE, then replied,“ I Am The Manager Here”. She took the cup out of my hands and placed it under that machine and put the tea pouches in. I was extremely flabbergasted. No employee should take anything out of a PAYING RESIDENTS hand, but I held my tongue and tried it her way, and then she left. I WAITED exactly five minutes and no water came out to make our refreshments. So I did what anyone would do, and I continued to make my tea the same way I have been doing. I poured the water in its Water Reservoir like the previous manager had told all the residents to do and the water came instantly. As soon as I did this The Property Manager ran out of her office space and got really AGGRESSIVE and BELITTLED my knowledge of how to use a simple Keurig machine. Before I could inform her there is an Icon on the Keurig machine for this specific reason, she RUDELY cut me off and said, “Putting water in its water reservoir would break the machine”. Now, any person who has had a machine that deals with hot beverages would know what a Water Reservoir is for. IT IS FOR WATER! Pouring WATER in its RESERVOIR will NOT break the machine. I know this may sound silly, but the fact is from the moment I walked in that door with my mother, The Property Manager was completely RUDE and AGGRESSIVE towards ME. I hope you take my complaint into consideration. Because NO RESIDENT should be HARASSED by a member of Staff for getting a cup of tea with their mom on a cold December day.

I have been living at Abbington Crossing since May. I love my apartment, it is very spacious and the complex is in the perfect location for work, shopping, and dining. I am new to Charlottesville so this was an excellent location for me to start out get to know the area. I came here because of work but I have since decided to stay as I have fallen in love with this area.I debated about moving to another complex and was actively looking around, but in the end I decided to stay here. The primary reason I am staying here is because of one of the staff members here, Brittney Yager. Brittney has been so patient and kind throughout this process. She has bent over backwards to help me decide on the right apartment to best suit my needs, has discussed floor plans, options, costs, and move dates with me until I was positive she was tired of seeing me!Yet here I am, signing my new lease today and Brittney is still patiently working with me. She has always done so with a smile on her face and her kind, calming presence that has helped me when I was stressing about the details.I would highly recommend anyone new to the area to come here and would strongly suggest they deal with Brittney. The other staff members have always been nice and friendly but Brittney goes the extra mile to help. Even when my daughter came home for the summer from college, it was a very simple process to add her to the lease and then remove her from the lease when she left again. I still recommend Abbington Crossing to all of my friends whenever they are thinking about moving to Charlottesville. If we hadn’t bought a house, I have no doubt we’d still be living there!

I’ve been living here for 5 days now ... ONLY 5 DAYS and this place is horrible and too expensive. The apartment I moved into has a terrible roach infestation which we learned about the very first night living there. We put in a maintenance request just for them to show up 3 days later and ‘exterminate’ which caused more roaches!! Once we were finally able to get in touch with management they tried to tell us we were lying about having roaches being in the apartment and they won’t do anything except discount next months rent for the bug infestation products I have bought to try to get rid of these disgusting bugs. Also our neighbor is a slob and apparently he is the reason we have roaches and urine odors all over the apartment. This place is honestly so unprofessional, disgusting and over priced. I will be moving from here ASAP. Take your $1300 a month to a place that is actually worth the money. This ain’t it.

Toured this complex with a roommate a few days ago and absolutely loved the 2 bed 2 bath we were shown. The extended kitchen was perfect (we are both big cooked and extra counter and cabinets would be awesome) the stainless steel appliances and ice maker in freezer are both awesome added bonuses. The amenities were a great addition too. The fitness center had a little bit of everything. And the pool area with wifi is awesome, and great hours too. Open daily 9-9 and all year long (not heated though) Unfortunately we dont qualify for the pet policy which while under normal circumstances a 3 pet limit would be perfect we have 2 cats and 2 dogs. We would have loved to make abbington crossing our home while at UVA for grad school. Highly recommend for sure!

Because THEIR bank process has changed... they dont take checks anymore. They did NOT inform us... and then got rude with my wife when she tryed to pay with a check... hasnt been a problem the past 9 months... now we have to PAY for a money order.. this place is a JOKE. A lawsuit waiting to happen. They emailed and said we take checks less than 24h later they dont... NO official email or letter was given stating that Abbington crossing would no long be excepting checks. Now rent is late and Im being charged extra, for their FAILURS as management.Neighbors have complained to their cop friend, who took it on him self to stop by my appartment (in uniform) and tell me to keep it down then to find out that they DID NOT CALL THE COPS... THEIR COP FRIEND WANTED TO BE NICE. No report of any complaint was ever formally made, and the police dept had no record of dispatching anyone to my appartment.I would recommend living out of your car before moving here.. my wife and I got out asap...

Living here was okay we decided to leave due to our kitchen ceiling constantly leaking and even though it was checked a few times the issues was not resolved the billards room is nice except the leasing office I would say alot of shady looking people living there. The pool is nice but the walls are paper thin..I like the two playgrounds but for the price isnt worth it old apartments.

I wish i could rate them even lower than this. I am a former residence stayed there for almost 9 years. We bought a house and we were not able to close on the date that was given to me so we had to extent our stay a month. My brother and my dad went to ask if we can extent our stay. A manger told us that she will give us same rate if we extent our stay. Next week when we went to extend our stay they told me that we have to empty our apartment in next two days. I had to get in such big argument with them and manager was lying on my face that she has didnt told that to us( brother and dad) and she was blaming another employee that she might have done this. finally after all this argument they agreed to extent our stay but its doesnt end here. After this my brother went to sign papers and another employee gave him different rate when we confronted her she told my brother that she was giving last month(September) rate to my brother when we was there to sign current month lease.(he was there to sign October month lease) Does even make sense? When a manager sits there and laying than what we could expect from employee? They did not honer the price that was given by manager or by that employee. They charged us totally different rate. i do not understand why they cannot honor that rate that they gave it to us in there handwriting? we moved we thought its over but now they do not want to return our deposit either. IF ANY ONE OUT THERE WANTS TO STAY HERE DO NOT TAKE THERE WORDS HAVE THEM WRITE IN PAPER AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY WRITE SIGN THERE NAME SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FACE WHAT WE DID. IF YOU HAVE CHOICE STAY AWAY.

After initially leaving a very positive review for this company due to my pleasant experience of signing a lease with them 9 months ago, I am disappointed that I feel this compelled to leave a poor review. Please take my advice: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS DISGRACEFUL, POOR EXCUSE OF A COMPANY. The staff throughout this company from the local office (Abbington Crossing in Charlottesville, VA) to the corporate employees are both incompetent in their jobs and unprofessional. After moving out, I was charged more than $1000 for a damaged carpet that apparently had to be completely ripped up (2 square feet of stains UNDERNEATH the carpet, and nowhere visible on the top as proven by the pictures they provided). Heres the real kicker-they ADMITTED to not having photo documentation of the carpet when the tenants before me moved out. Meaning, they admitted to not being able to prove I caused this damage (I did not), and they STILL are trying to pin it on me...truly worthless excuse of a company and management team. In addition, I was not given a call back from the debt collections department after leaving a message for them after missing their initial call 15 minutes before, until a WEEK AND A HALF LATER. Truly terrible way of doing business. Here are just a few other poor experiences I had while living in this apartment complex for only 7 months:1. Someone elses payment was credited towards my account. I paid the balance amount as shown and was then told I did not pay my rent in full (I kinda just assume an apartment complex can figure out how to bill their residents for their monthly rent correctly, but I guess you truly cant assume anything with these people). I paid the rest of my rent the next day.2. I needed to terminate my lease early due to a job opportunity in a different city. NO ONE in the office knew the correct information regarding the logistics of picking between certain dates of moving out and was subsequently charged extra when I was explicitly told by two separate employees I would not be.3. One of the aforementioned employees somehow managed to give me someone elses termination form during a FACE TO FACE interaction where I gave my first and last name as well address TWICE. Truly negligent and careless.4. The office managers professionalism is laughable at best. When initially speaking to her over the phone about the bill I received with both the carpet damage charges as well as the charge for the mistake in date of move out, she had the audacity to ask me to leave a review reflecting the positive experiences I had while living on the property after telling her I would be sure to leave a review that reflected this entire ordeal. For a company that cant even get their employees on the same page in regards to standard leasing practices, process payment transactions correctly, or grab a piece of paper with the correct identifying information on it, it is certainly bold and NOT their place to be soliciting positive reviews. In the off chance that anyone from Weinstein Properties actually reads this and doesnt just respond with a cookie cutter positive response: do NOT respond to this. You have NOT been working closely with me on this issue as it took a week and a half to return my call I placed 15 minutes after missing your initial call. You have NOT provided a settlement that is substantial, agreeable or satisfactory to any party other than the company itself. No further response or communication is requested from any part of the Weinstein company.

Great job Abbington Crossing Apartments. As a resident I just received some great news. They now have a lap top program that let residents using during business hours and that is great news. They are open seven days a week. Yes even on weekends. We will have the ability to use the lap top with in the business center and media room so if you need computer access we have. It is free. Amazing. This is the first apartment complex that I have lived in that is doing things to help their residents. With the financial conditions around us this is great. They are taking the approach to assist residents to put them in a place where they can make decisions to help keep them out of bad financial situations. Where does this happen. I have lived in Christiansburg, VA, Roanoke, VA and other Charlottesville Va apartments and this is the first. Just want to say thanks. The apartment has other great amendities such as a gym. So if you can not afford a gym member ship and you want to stay healthy and just work out. you have it right in the community. Yes we have a pool. free pass for us and a media room. Thank you for making our residents homes.

FLEAS AND MOLD were free of charge and already in the APARTMENT WHEN I MOVED IN. I moved to the Charlottesville area from Colorado, so I was not able to sit down with a leasing agent or visit the complex. I applied for the apartment online which was easy and convenient. I applied for a short term two month lease because I was buying a house and this was one of the only places that did short term leases that I found. Through the online application, I applied and was approved for a two month lease Mar 1 - April 30. When I arrived from Colorado and go into the office to sign paperwork and get my keys, the leasing consultant tells me that my lease expires on April 24th. I said it was a two month lease that I signed for through their online application and she informs me that you actually have to move out on the last Sunday of the month. I thought that was weird and I didnt like that the Sunday policy is no where on their website or on the paperwork they emailed me to sign for the lease. But I said ok, as long as I was prorated the rent since I was not going to pay for days I was not staying. She said I would be. (I paid prorated rent for the month of April, but they still sent me a bill stating I was short for the entire month).Anyways, I move into my new apartment and do the walkthrough checking for damages and such. The carpet was vacuumed and the kitchen was clean. It ended about there. There were so many chips, cracks, and breaks in the wood base boards, I ran out of room to put on the sheet. The paint on the apartment is sloppily done leave drip marks. Walls were cracked, and had pencil / crayon marks on them. I found three nails laying in the carpet from whatever repairs were done. I only took pictures of the most serious things and those will be posted below. The front door had evidence of a break in, thats a picture of pry marks near the lock, and you can see the door is cracked open in the middle from the damage. That went on the sheet and they never came out to check on it. There is a picture of mildew / mold on the inside of the washing machine. One of the pictures is of an air vent in the bathroom, that is all the dust in there, which looks like it has never been cleaned. The final two are of the top of showers in the apartment. That is hair / dust and who knows what else that was not cleaned prior to my arrival. When I reported the showers as mold/mildew, maintenance came right away to check and left a note saying there was no mold or mildew, but they left the filth there. They came back two days later to finally clean it, but I wondered why they didnt do it on the first place. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS THAT THERE WERE FLEAS IN THE APARTMENT WHEN I MOVED IN. I moved in a month before my wife, child and dog moved in. So I was laying on the floor since our furniture was being shipped and I saw several small flecks jump on me and jump off. I went to the front office and maintenance came back with me and confirmed that there were indeed FLEAS living in the carpet. This was on a Tuesday, they dont do pest control until Fridays, so I got to live with FLEAS for a week, since that is not an emergency for them to take care of right away. They were gone after the apartment was fumigated, but just the fact they were in their in the first place is disgusting enough. It was also important to me, that maintenance saw my dog was not living there yet (still in Colorado) and the FLEAS were there before the arrival of my pet. Also, 2 days before I moved out, I got a letter from the office about items cluttering up my balcony, specifically Tables and Boots, there was nothing on my balcony at all. I called and asked what they were talking about and they said it was probably a mistake and Human Error. You would think they would verify the issue before sending a letter to the occupants. For pics go to Apartment Ratings website.
