Jeff came out and made repairs to our pool in a very timely fashion. He was very knowledge and spent a good deal of time training me on operating our new set-up. I feel as if his prices were fair and he was upfront when there were items he needed to add to the invoice. All in all I am very pleased with the service he provided and the upgrades that he has made to my pool! I would recommend Jeff for your pool needs.
Very pleased with Jeff and his crew. Had a pool servicer prior to using them and they were inconsistent at best and wanted to be paid by check (blech!) and we’re very unresponsive to questions about our pool chemicals. Jeff uses a website for credit card payments, responds to me promptly (responded within 30 minutes after an after hours email!) and usually sends us details about the pool chemicals (forgets every now and then but if we ask, he’s quick to send). He’s very knowledgeable and I’m glad we have someone that’s familiar with our pump and heater brand if/when we need maintenance. Also, would point out that we had some super weird chemical reaction in our pool after leaving for a long weekend and the pool water level was too low. Called jeff Monday morning and he came over and took care of it. Was very appreciative!Overall, I definitely like Carolina pool services more than our previous servicer and am pleased with the responsiveness and his customer service. He’s very personable.
This pool service is excellent!! The employees are knowledgeable and polite. They went OVER and beyond to help me get my pool back in excellent shape! The response was immediate, and they communicated every step of the way. They are awesome! They paid personal attention to get my pool in shape for a party...with a very short time frame. This after several pool services would not even return my call! 100 percent awesome!
I hired Carolina Pool Services to re-plaster my pool. I was given a one year warranty, foolishly thinking that after one year if the pool was in good shape, I could be comforted I would have a satisfactory product for the next 15 years as I had had for the first 15 years of the pools life. Within six months, I started seeing cracks and was assured this was within the normal limits. Just after the years warranty was up, significant cracks occurred. Now the bottom of my pool has bubbled, full of calcium nodules and cracked, exposing the rocky inner layer. I contacted Mr. Scott Vincent, a thirty year true expert, who told me the plaster will need to be replaced. He said marble should have been used instead of quartz, the quartz plaster was not double bonded and soon the plaster will break open. I contacted the owner Mr. Jeff Crowley and asked how much it would cost to redo the pool, he quoted $3,500 more expensive than the cost of the original work. Was he trying to sell me the least expensive product to just make it past the one year warranty? Whether unwittingly or not, this is what happened. I would welcome any pool company, service or pool product concern to look at my pool. I feel its my duty to tell my story to the pool community so to avoid my problem becoming someone elses.
We used this pool service for several years and trusted that Jeff was always being fair with us in terms of pricing. After selling us pool lights for $1100. each (x3) which could have been purchased for less than$700, we realized that he was marking everything up significantly. In the end, he admitted to marking up the costs of his products by 50%. I know that everyone needs to make a living, but he verbally told us that he was giving us a good price. If you cant trust a service provider, its time for them to hit the highway.
I have utilized Carolina Pool Services for the past 3 years. They have always been prompt and courteous. I had been utilizing another company for service needs; however, continued to have issues (and unforeseen expenses). CPS has done a number of routine maintenance as well as addressing a major issue. CPS places a big emphasis on service and fair pricing.
They called me on the day of the appt and said they were running early, & asked to meet the home owner at 1pm, so I called the owner of the house & he left work to meet them. He arrived at 12:50pm. At 2pm HE CALLED THEM (no call from them) & now CPS says itll be 4pm. I meet the home owner at 4pm & wait with him until 5pm, When he said, I guess they dont want the business. Then I got an invoice for an $85 trip charge saying it is due same day! (No one ever mentioned a trip charge)I called & let them know that no one ever came out. The lady insisted that the guy came, but that no one was home & says I owe the $85!!The invoice recommendations make it obvious that no one ever saw this pool.Late is forgivable. Lack of communication is not workable. Lying & blindside billing ... well, I can tell you that I am not risking letting them do any work.
Jeff is the man! Came down off an initial estimate from another contractor, would not sell you anything that you do not need! And he came through with some last minute emergency work when I was not on his schedule because he knew I had a big party that weekend. Would highly recommend to anybody, thank you Jeff!
Unprofessional and unreliable. Rude service and missed appointments. We originally scheduled an appointment to have our in ground pool rebuilt. They were backed up so we had to set the appointment out two weeks. When I called to confirm the appointment, they never answered. The day of the appointment, they did not show up and for some reason we dont have any record of your appointment, we never miss an appointment was what I was told. So whatever, stuff happens, right? We set another appointment, for a few days out at 2pm, but they show up at noon?? Okay, whatever..I was originally told that it would cost, $3700 for the liner replacement, and up to an additional $400 if they have to resurface the whole floor. When they were there, Jeff (in all his rude and loud glory) said to let him run some numbers and he would get back with me. I go inside and let them do their thing and then I get a call from Jessica at the office. Mind you they are right outside of my house, and have someone else call me instead of talking in person. Anyway, they hit me with a $7,200 quote, up from the original max possible of $4200.I tell her I cannot afford to pay $7,200 and they returned with a few lesser quotes. Then Jessica calls me back, talking all quiet and stuff (as if shes not sitting right there in their living room) and says they can do it off the books for $5600, meaning no taxes and nothings reported, right? I dont think they wanted me to tell everyone that they are doing business off the books, not sorry. We came to an agreement where we both felt comfortable and the work will start on Monday. Then... then they wanted the money, and quick. This went down on a Thursday. The plan was for one of them to come to my house to pick up the payment at 5pm. Then I got a call that the guy didnt want to fight traffic (reasonable) and wanted to come later on around 7:30. I tell her we have plans and that wont work, but maybe I can meet you somewhere along our way if it works out. Around 5 I texted letting them know that it wouldnt work that night, but I can meet you tomorrow or just pay you on MONDAY WHEN YOU COME TO START THE WORK.Then they start hitting me with This is raising too many red flags and we arent going to do the work and blowing up because they couldnt get their money on the very day we came to an agreement. The next day I call them to straighten everything out and see where I could bring their money to. No answer, all day, the business doesnt answer their phone. I called from other numbers and my own for two days and they are ghosted, gone. Then... like 6 days later, I see an invoice in my email for them to come do the work.. Really guys?Heres why they are unprofessional. While talking to Jessica on the phone, I hear Jeff yelling and using casual profanity in the background. I would ask a question and Jessica would say hold on and in the background I hear HE WANTS TO KNOW IF.... and YOU CANT DO... and BLAH BLAH EVERYONE IS AN IDIOT type of attitude.Dramatically Changing quotes.Getting angry and impulsive through text. Not answering phones.Missing appointments.Showing up off time.Generally not knowing how pools worked.Overcharging.Take your business to many of the other much better companies. I tried to forget about the reviews and give them a chance, but they royally screwed it up and lived up to their terrible reputation.Oh btw, I got my pool professionally repaired for $4100 total.
DOES NOT HONOR WARRANTY WORK AT ALL WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK
Worst pool service company that Ive ever dealt with. Quality of service poor, the owner (Jeff) is not customer centric at all, he also does not stand by commitments made by his people. Stay away from this company, there are better pool service providers out there.
Had our in ground pool re-plastered and re-tiled in May 2016.They had to remove the pool cover before they could start.Came to close the pool and cannot find any of the coveraccessories ie: 2 x Installation Rods, 2 x Anchor Tool and1 x Skimmer Compensator. They were very unhelpful and Iwill sort the accessory problem out myself. They have lost my business for good!
I could not be more pleased with the sevice of Carolina Pool Service. I have had them take care of my pool for several years and anytime I have a request, or need something done, they are there to accomodate. What a lovely company to work with!!!
I agree with the others who suggest avoiding this company. The service is sub-standard – often times my pool wasn’t even clean following their visit. Their invoices constantly have added and unexpected fees for ‘chemicals’. And the technicians can be inconsistent with the days they visit - and if they come on the wrong day and dont have access they will charge YOU for that. I could write a book here but based on my experience I would NOT hire this company.
If I could put a zero as the rating I would. Dont do business with this company unless you expect rude service over the phone and for them to never show up.
