A great atmosphere with even greater staff. Theyre all super friendly and welcoming as soon as you walk through the door. The care and expertise that is provided is well worth the price. Brittany had cut my hair and she did a fantastic job. She was very detailed and did an excellent job on my fade. If you want someone to get your fade right, Brittany is your go-to.

Referred by a friend this is my second experience, two different stylist. Blair I booked last minute and is a junior stylist but don’t let the junior fool you. She is a class act, genuine personality, a perfectionist at heart and can hold a solid conversation. You can tell she loves her craft and enjoys any opportunity to get creative with her stylings. 10/10.

I love Shear Excellence because you can get a great hair cut and it’s truly an enjoyable experience. While you wait, you are given a nice adult beverage. I recently had my hair cut by Ereka. She did a great job with a zero fade, a more difficult style of cut. I also want the cut to be round over my ears.I do my own facial grooming so they aren’t responsible for that. I am a plumber who charges more for premium work and a secondly a premium experience. That’s what you will receive at this establishment. They have the fundamentals down and deliver a great experience…in that order.I buy the Tea Tree hair and body lotion there and I just recently purchased Lavender Mint shampoo. The tea tree stuff is great because you can use it on your skin and beard and mustache and even shave with it. It’s a Paul Mitchell product so it’s made exclusively for salons. It’s made for the trades, and it’s the best.I feel strongly for people who take on a trade. When you are a master and can prove it, you earn your right to work somewhere like Shear Excellence. Ive been coming to this shop since January of this year and have seen a couple stylist but mostly Natalie. The entire staff is very well trained and super efficient. The deluxe mens cut is $42, and includes the cut, blending with the razor, the wash and scalp massage, hot towel therapy, and free beer or bourbon. Its absolutely worth it.

This is one of the best salons in Charlotte. Pre covid, I used to get my haircut from Katelyn. She was so friendly and sweet. Best stylist. But unfortunately she seem to have left the place 4 months ago. This time I had my haircut with Catherine and she did an amazing work too. Bit expensive but worth the money. You get free beers too!!

I was blown away, no pun intended. First time here and service was great, they were on-time and the hair cut was honestly better than the stylist Ive been going to for the past decade. The place is very stylish, kind of like a man cave. The stylists are all very nice and personable. I didnt really have to wait at all, walked in, checked in and I got a hair cut and shampoo. Our experiences with Shear Excellence is always top notch. Making the appointment via the website (thankful for our reminder email) is extremely easy. The front counter personnel is very welcoming and of course we believe Jazzmyne is the best stylist. Shes been cutting my sons hair for 3 years now. He adores her (especially her head massages-ha), loves their conversations and of course he always leaves looking very handsome!

Camille was the lady that did my hair. Prior I was the guy that would go to sports clips. After my last hair cut I was fed up with the way it looked. When I came into Shear Excellence, the whole staff was friendly and I hardly waited at all. I met Camille and all I said was I have an interview and I need my hair to look neat while retaining some length. With that tiny bit of information she got straight to work. During the haircut I had a wonderful conversation with her as well as tips on how to keep my hair healthy. This is the most I spent on a haircut but, in my eyes it is well worth it. I will 100% be returning to see Camille for my haircuts until I move or pass away. Lastly, I love the way I look and felt so confident during my interview. 10/10 on every aspect I could think. Camille if you are reading this I am looking forward ti my next visit.

Been using Shear Excellence for a while but had a new Stylist this time. If you get lucky enough to book an appointment with Fifi, you will get the best service of your life! While all of their Stylists are highly skilled, this woman is AMAZING!

A grest place for a great haircut! A bit kn the experience since side but it was worth the money since the haircut really was high quality.

Spend your money eslewhere. I was well aware of the price here and quite okay with it, but $42 for a 15 minute haircut isnt worth it. Their 30 min haircut is actually 15 with the extaa time used for a shampoo and styling. If youre looking for a true detailed haircut, go somewhere else, if not, try Great Clips.

My hair dresser was professional and such a sweetheart. However, it was absolutely unnecessary for it to cost $54 for what I received. The only aspect of my haircut that was different from any haircut I’ve ever received was the hot face towel. I didnt even have my beard shaped with a straight edge razor which was stated in the description of what I was charged for. I did not receive a scalp massage with the wash which was one of the things listed in what was to be provided as well. I also was not offered any alcoholic beverage which is also stated. Overall the experience was quite mediocre ESPECIALLY considering the $54 cost. Highly do not recommend.

Katrina is amazing! My husband has been going to her for about a year and loves her. She did his hair before our destination wedding and cut it perfect so that it still looked clean a week later on our wedding day. He travels a lot for work and when he has to get it cut while on the road (and someone screws it up) Katrina can always fix it and make him look perfect again. Highly recommend this place

This is the second time Baylee has cut a teenagers hair in my house. The first one refused to go back after her not listening. This time another teenager in my house went for a cut and I gave a note no Baylee. However Baylee was the person cutting. I said a trim he likes it long just thin a little because it’s thick. She used the clippers. I could hv cried. Baylee is very inexperienced and only knows one length short. Save your money Supercuts 1/2 the price and compare to what we got better listening and cut. She even cut his neck across the bottom. The girl at the register checked me out early snd I added tip. No manager on duty on the weekends.

Went in for a maintenance cut to trim up my neck line and around my ears, as soon as I get home and look above my ears, its completely jacked up and looks like a 5 year old did it!!! I WILL NEVER COME BACK to this place again! Do yourself a service and head to Modern Classic Grooming Lounge off of South Blvd. they DO NOT MESS UP and are the best barbers in town! I knew it was a mistake going into Shear Excellence but I did it anyways so its my own fault. For $16 your roommate, friend, or significant other can do this same thing, save yourself the $$ and misery. EMBARASSING

I had an OK experience at Shear today for my first time. I booked online because of the pandemic and read the ‘Shear’ procedures online. I did not arrive early per website request. Staff was welcoming, although the wait was about 7-10 minutes, not a deal breaker, but don’t come in until your appointment suggest you will be ready. My stylist was excellent, took care of me. The shave was excellent, the haircut was OK. This is not a bad review, but shear excellence is an over paid sports cut. I think my expectation was aligned with the pricing.

Im a customer who has purchased bulk haircut packages and even has multiple haircuts left to use, but I refuse to continue to support this business any further. I will be telling all of my friends and co-workers who go here as well.Im sorry but actions and inactions have consequences. The consequence here is youve lost a loyal/paying customer.

Absolutely amazing! Very clean and professional. I came in to get a trim and line up but decided to do a shorter pixie. Jazmine did my hair and she is amazing! Not very many people can cut my super thick hair and not butcher it but she did such an amazing job! My hair feels so much lighter and not so full and thick. The best haircut experience ever. Visited for the first time, on the recommendation from a friend, and while I waited I sipped on some Knob Creek (complimentary, of course). Taylor cut my hair, and did an amazing job. Included is a shampoo after the haircut, and a straight razor on the neck hairs. The atmosphere is great, and they offer all kinds of hair products for men - really awesome place!

First time visiting Shear Excellence and Katelyn left me with a hole in my beard. A large patch of skin is showing in the middle of my beard?!?! Wont be coming back. Dont waste your $$.FOLLOW UP:I spoke with the owner and after showing her a picture she tried to tell me it wasnt a hole but a bad tapering job. This was not the case. Theres a patch of missing hair because it was cut so short it went down to the skin. She did offer for me to come back and have them take a look but I wasnt interested in having them cut my beard again. After letting her know I didnt want to come back in she stopped responding. I wasnt looking for a refund originally but after she reached out I thought that was an appropriate thing to ask for considering it was only $10. But she wasnt willing to do that.Eventually, I was offered a refund but only if I agreed to remove my review. I found that request to be highly inappropriate!
