Hunter Wrecker had an unauthorized pickup on our (Adams Auto Group) vehicle. The vehicle was on the side of the road for 15 minutes and we already had one of our tow trucks in route. By the time it took my driver (30 minutes) to get the vehicle it was gone. Oh and they will tell you Highway Patrol gave them permission to pick it up. Common sense tells you from the location of the vehicle and the location of there lot it was not possible for it to be picked up in that quickly. So after finally doing research and calling around because they dont care to have any customer service and reach out to the owner to let them know they picked there vehicle up we found it located at Hunter. So after paying for there storage fees and then we decided to pay for them to tow it back to us, lets just say that they are not as quick to deliver the vehicle as they are for pick ups. We were scheduled to have the vehicle on Tuesday. Then we I call yesterday I was told it would be out Thursday morning. Here it is Thursday at 2 pm and all they could do is apologize that they were understaffed Tuesday and Wednesday and then today it wasnt flagged. Again common sense tells you that if you cant meet deadlines for customers, Im sure you can get a vehicle picked up in 15 minutes. Not to mention while the vehicle was on there impound low and behold the vehicle now doesnt have a Catalytic Converter. They are quick to pick up vehicles so they can get there tow money and there storage fees and steal parts off vehicles. Big Scam!!!!!!!!!!! Only positive note was the lady that answered the phone was really nice and understanding!

Eric arrived promptly and put our mind at ease. It was my daughters first accident and she was scared. He was kind, trustworthy, and thorough in his explanations of where the car was going and what the process was. Thank you for your service!

I needed to get my car towed and it had a particular situation, so I gave specific instructions to them on how to tow my vehicle. Not only did they paid attention to the detailed instructions, but they followed it perfectly. Great customer service from the person who took my call, to the driver of the tow truck. Once the tow truck driver arrived to the destination, he called me to see where would I like for him to park my vehicle, and of course parked it exactly where I told him. There was nobody home so I opened the garage remotely, and he put the keys inside the garage for me, as well as he ask for my permission to put an Amazon package inside the garage, to avoid potential theft. Lastly, he took it upon himself to provide me with some feedback as potential options, on how to proceed regarding the fix of the situation which caused me to get my vehicle towed. Robert is the name of the tow truck driver and Hunter Auto & Wrecker Service, as well anybody who reads reviews need to know this, because this to me is going above and beyond.

The only reason why Im giving this company 3 stars is because Erik, who towed my car, did a great job. Customer service was not helpful. People in the background were making rude remarks. Would not recommend just based off those handling business.

Got here 30 minutes before the ETA the website gave me; would definitely recommend to anyone needing a quick and hassle-free tow.The driver that towed my vehicle was Cody, if the rest of the drivers are like him then you can expect the tow to be completed safely and promptly.

Waited on them for over two hours. They pushed back my tow by an hour without notifying me, because despite me scheduling, my vehicle was “not a priority” (their words, verbatim) to them. They then canceled on me. Definitely would not recommend using them if you’re looking for a company that practices effective communication with their customers.

Very nice people! The person at the dispatch office was really nice however, Cody the “toe” driver is outstanding. Great attitude and kept us laughing the whole time (which was a relief as I was extremely anxious regarding my car). He figured out that it was just my battery and even offered to come jump it again in the morning before I had to go to work. Best experience I’ve ever had with one of these companies by far.

My car was stolen and the police had them to tow it. I contact them to get my car they kept saying it was abandoned. They kept jacking the price up when I told them I got a SSI check to keep me from being able to get my car back so I guess they had already sold parts off it. The are crooks.

My Daughter was involved in an accident on I-77 South bound. The police and myself had my truck towed (3:34am) by Hunter Auto wrecker service and left the key with them. I returned the next morning (8:00am) To find that someone had used my key to unlock the glove box and has stolen my rifle. It was towed by an employee named Cody. The manager, Ashley did not to reconcile the situation and told me that there was pretty much nothing they could do. Another employee stated to me “they do that all the time” when I asked them about it. I had to report my gun stolen to police and file a report and I am now Im the process of filing a civil claims report, as well as gein contact worth the owner’s (I believe Richard is his name). The employee is still employed there and I spoke with the manager (Ashley) to see if the situation could be reconciled and she refused to reimburse me for my stolen firearm and stated that she looked at footage and didn’t see anything (They don’t have cameras where Cody towed If from).

I recently had a pretty gnarly situation to deal with for a non-profit project Ive been working with which involved moving a 20 and 40 containers. The 20 was on a 12-ton utility trailer, and the 40 was on a shipping container chassis. Both containers had windows and other non-standard items attached to them, and had to be removed from their trailers and set on the ground in two different locations. I was concerned about the timing, damage to the windows and other parts of the units, and various other related logistics.I went by Hunters office, which is right between NODA and uptown, and met with the owner, Rick Hunter, who came recommended by Rick Beaver, the owner of Piggyback trucking - and has also been very helpful with this project.Rick Hunter sat down with me to discuss the project, and surprised me by almost immediately going himself to the project location and scoping out the containers and one of the destination sites. We discussed our plans, and he was surprisingly accommodating of my uncertainty about the destination (I was still figuring out exactly where they needed to go).When the day came, he sent out his heavy lifter (a very impressive large vehicle used for lifting trucks out of rivers and that sort of thing I think), a flatbed, and a regular towing rig, and supervised some of the operation himself.It was a tremendous relief to get these boxes moved, and Im convinced almost nobody else in town could have pulled off Hunter did in terms of experience and equipment. Im very grateful for all their efforts.Ricks a no-nonsense guy, and I know from past experience hes partnered with Habitat for Humanity, and will not hesitate to recommend them for towing and equipment relocation.

We used this company twice, selected by Geico. The first gentleman yesterday was very polite and helpful when he came to tow our car to our home. Today, the gentleman that came to our home to tow our car to Firestone was unprofessional, dismissive and inconsiderate. Under no circumstance do you go to anyone’s home, especially a customer, and act this way. We will not use this service provider again.

Absolutely horrible customer service. This place doesnt even deserve one star. Been put on hold for 30 minutes before being hung up on. Finally got through to have a tow. Made a appointment 2 days in advance for 10 am. By 11am they didnt show. Called and said they were running late and be there by noon. 1:30 rolls around and still no show. Called again and said their trucks were out of town and they got busy. Guess since I dont have a account there my money is no good. Called different tow company and they showed up early. Even called me to give me a ETA. Never once got a call from Hunter. Take your money elsewhere. Wish I could give no stars.

Very bad customer service.I requested a towing service through the Geico app and they accepted the call and it stated they will be at my location in 45 min..45 minutes turned into 1 hour and still no show.I called the number provided and I was told that the driver is on the way to a different call and will be at my location in about 45 minutes from that time.If you can’t provide the service then don’t accept the requests.

Family member died recently in a car wreck. Hunter was contacted to tow the car from the site by the authorities. Several family members reached out to Hunter via phone and in person to try to find out when the car would be released. Office staff was beyond rude, even knowing the circumstances, and could not be bothered to even attempt any form of compassion or sympathy at all when speaking with the deceaseds parents or brother. Truly reprehensible behavior on their part. Sad that the city/county/state would contract with a company with such terrible people skills. Wouldnt use or recommend this company if they were paying me for their service.

This was the most professional towing service that I have ever encountered. Not only did he arrive early, but Rashard from truck #20 made me feel comfortable. He explained the entire process and asked if I had questions. He also called to make sure that the vehicle was placed in the right location. After he dropped my vehicle off, he called to make sure that I didn’t need anything else. He is a very professional employee and I will use this service again

When I picked up my vehicle there was a new huge scratch on my vehicle! It was not there before. It was as if they had parked it too close to another car and it took a lot of paint off with it. I complained about it but they said there was nothing they could do

Staff was helpful...my truck wasnt quite where it was supposed to be but we found it. Also my back tire was flat, wasnt flat when it left the scene of the accident, so flattened on the way to tow yard or during rearranging on the yard.

Dude was very cool and timely, only waited about 25 minutes for the truck to arrive. He took care when loading the car. Price was about what you would expect. Around a hunderd bucks. Would recommend.

Told me she didnt have another driver to come out and would be an hour and a half wait. Called back bc I was out of options and talked to a second dispatcher. She was nice as could be and had a driver sent right to me. The driver informed me that he was sitting right next to the first dispatcher when she told me Id have to wait so long.. I have a tough time giving people my money that dont want the business but I was in a pinch.

DO NOT USE EVER!!!! A simple tow could end up costing you so much more. I am on the hook with a $610 bill due to damage caused by one of Hunter Wreckers drivers, but of course they refuse to take any responsibility. I woke up November 9th to find my 2015 VW Passat had a flat tire. I contacted roadside assistance and they sent Hunter Wrecker. The driver took me to a tire shop to get my flat fixed, but the fork of his tow caught my bumper. When he released the car, the bumper popped back. I thought maybe crisis averted. He quickly drove off. Thats when I realized my grill was cracked and a portion has since fallen off. I contacted Hunter immediately. I was told to email my concerns to Clay, the manager. He got back to me and we corresponded for a few weeks and it seemed like he was willing to do the right thing. But then, he said his driver has a different account of what happened and told me to contact Geico. I suppose my grill cracked on its own. All I wanted was a simple tow to fix a flat, instead I got $610 in damages from an unscrupulous company that will never get my business again. They shouldnt get yours either.

Had my catalyst converter stolen out of my car and geico sent them over to help tow the car to the dealership. Super friendly, helpful, timely service. I felt very comfortable as a young woman and that means the world to me. Thank you!

Started out our long road trip today by having a disabled vehicle. NOT FUN. But.. Chris in truck 33 called to tell us he was on the way and showed up on time. Chris got us where we were going in a timely fashion and with a great attitude. By the time we got to our destination we were grateful for the ride and also our time with Chris. He was motivated to make sure we were happy. It was nice having his help in our stressful day.

They dont have alrger wreckers overnight but they are helpful enough.

Damaged my car while pulling in and out. The cars are parked to close for the cars that are not deemed total. After the fee was paid it took them almost 2 hours to find my car. I will make sure my car is never totaled here again.

Our tire blew out on the interstate and I was very nervous being on the exit ramp. Our tow truck arrived within 20 minutes and our driver was very friendly, professional and got us to the dealer as quickly as he could. First time in my 36 years of driving that my tire was blown out on a highway...thanks for getting us there safely.

The driver Rashad was helpful in that he pulled up with a long bed truck. My car was missing 4 lug studs, only one was on. He suggested a stack truck for towing so the front lug wouldn’t snap. Then he called and arranged for a stack truck to come and tow me to my destination. I was thankful that he gave great customer service.

Absolutely useless, booked a heavy equipment transfer, confirmed for a 7:30 am pick up, was told the individual that confirmed it scheduled the wrong truck, I was then told they would have another truck available around 10:00 am that could do this transport. I receive a call from the driver saying he is on his way. I then receive a call from the office saying that the truck they send could not do the job. This was handled in the most unprofessional way possible, no calls until it was too late. I would not recommend them for anything.

Our truck stopped on the rest area ramp at 1am this morning. We called over 30 tow companies. After having a jerk arrive from Diversified Towing show up with a V6 car to jump our F250 Diesel with no luck and very rude. I finally called Hunter. An amazing driver Tim showed up and went above and beyond to help us. My husband is a tow truck driver in Sumter so they had alot to talk about. I would so recommend this company.

I had a job that would have been hard on a nice day and Hunter banged it out. They moved my 4 40ft Shipping containers across town after three companies turned down the job and they did it at a very reasonable price. Wayne my operator was a rock star and he handled the job in the cold rain coupled with holiday traffic the day before Christmas Eve like a boss. If you need heavy equipment moved they should be the first company that you call.

I wrote a novella describing my interactions with Hunter Wrecker, but my phone froze, then went to the search results. Suffice it to say that Im well pleased with the professionalism, and INTEGRITY of Hunter Wrecker.Contemporaneous with a tow, an operator of Hunter Wrecker damaged my car. The operator denied causing damage to my vehicle. I asked to speak with management. After explaining the circumstances to Ashley, the office manager, she dispatched a tow operator named Scott, who upon arrival quickly, and accurately identified the problem.Management of the company was empathetic, and attentive to the situation. The company provided me transportation, and expeditiously repaired my car. They paid the total cost in full.I highly recommend this company for your towing needs, but ask for Scott, for hes HONEST, AND COMPETENT!

If I could give 10 stars I would. The level of service I got from Burr was world class. Just cant explain it any better. He walked up to my car and said dang, I cant fix that. If he could have, I know he would have gotten me on my way without putting me on that tow. Super friendly and I felt like I was with a friend the whole ride to the tire company. Thanks!!

I have always found them to be fair and reliable. In the event that mistakes were made by a driver that caused any issues the owner has always taken care of it promptly. Joe from Hunter Auto and Wrecker Service picked me up at the IKEA this past Thursday morning. I just moved from Boston to Durham and I was at the IKEA in Charlotte stranded. It could have been an awful day but thanks to Joe the day was safe and ended in the best possible circumstance.The day started when Joe called me promptly after I requested a tow and picked me up with an up-beat attitude.He noticed that the auto repair shop that I had requested to be taken too did not seem to be a good situation and even leaning on hostile. He did not leave me there, rather he suggested we find another auto repair shop down the road.He even helped me find one! Once we got there, he explained my situation and even stood up for me asking if there was ANY possible way they could take a look at the car that day. When they couldnt, he again didnt leave me there to figure it out on my own. He called around and found another auto repair shop that would take a look at my car that day. He again when inside with me and explained what seemed to be the issue with my car- he waited until they could confirm they would take a look at my car today. Once he knew I was in good hands he left.A few hours later when I was already in my rental car driving back to Durham, Joe called to see if I needed a ride or tow as he was passing by the area where he left me.
