This is the best workout place that I have been to by far! If you want a good work out while having a positive environment where the instructors actually take time to help you one on one this is your place to go! You don’t need to have experience in kickboxing before or any work out for that matter, everyone here is encouraging and willing to teach! Take advantage of the one free trial class and see what I mean for yourself :)

I was temporarily stationed in Charleston and decided to try this place out for a few months. I took classes with Dani, Dylan, Mike and Casey and they ALL killed me EVERY time in the best way! Great at critiquing too, they won’t watch you do it the wrong way. If you want to be sore the next day, this is the place

I started going to GRITBOX about 7 months ago and it has completely changed my life. The atmosphere and all the coaches are so inspiring and supportive of your fitness goals and make working out fun. The classes are a great mix of cardio and strength training- 45 minutes flies by when you’re working out with music and lights!

AMAZING workout!! New favorite workout in Charleston! When I walked into class for the first time I had never even touched a punching bag in my life, but the instructors were so welcoming and knowledgeable, I immediately felt safe, comfortable, and excited doing all the moves and combos that I had never done before! I also previously felt bored with my workout and like my body was hitting a ‘plateau’/getting used to the Orange Theory and Red Zone workouts I’ve been doing in the past. So this fun and exciting high intensity resistance/strength AND cardio workout (with NO treadmill, bike or row machine!!!) left me feeling exhilarated, challenged, and SORE in muscles that I have never felt/worked before! So, if you’re looking to: add a little spice to your workout routine, learn a whole new way to exercise your mind+body, find a fun/healthy habit to let off some steam, or want a new date/friend date idea - you have to try Grit Box!! You will NOT be disappointed!!

Everyone here is awesome, I always feel wanted and at home when I walk in. I get the motivation I need to achieve my fitness goals every session I attended. The facility is always clean, it doesnt smell like gym bag and everyone including the other customers are always happy and friendly. The workout for kickboxing class is hard yes but fun. Each instructor brings a unique spin to the class and is constantly wandering to each person helping with form and motivation. This is a must go to place... Love it.

I’ve been at Gritbox for almost a year now. It’s such a great place!! I’m 18 so I’m younger than almost everyone here but not once did that even seem to matter. Everyone is so welcoming and kind here! They are all also very encouraging during a tough workout, pushing you to do your best but not ever more than you can handle. I came here with no clue whatsoever about boxing but now I can say it’s super fun and a great workout and I’ve come a long way. The coaches are all fabulous and know what they’re doing (shout-out to Jonathan Hurte). I’ve taken kickboxing, boot camp, and personal training at this studio. All of that has been fantastic and such a great workout. My thighs grew an inch in a month when I first started by taking kickboxing classes alone! I started coming here with a goal that I was going to be in the best shape of my life before I start college, and here we are, and I reached my goal!! Thanks Grit Fam!!

I started new year with amazing Fitness team in West Ashley! I am doing 6weeks challenge program at this gym, and i am loving it so far! (Just finished 3weeks today). Coaches are super friendly and highly encouraging me. Every classes has different workout rutine which makes me not getting bored of it. And also they suggest nutrition plan with side challenges, that works great with my body condition too! Has every equipment that i need. Oh and the fit bar offers various menus for post/after workout and taste amazing 😉

This is by far the best gym Ive been to. The prices is extremely reasonable for the amount of flexibility they offer. All of the coaches are motivating but they never feel overwhelming. Ive never once felt out of place here. There are always a few guys in the class, so if youre worried youll be the only guy, dont be!

I started coming to Grit Box around a month ago. I wanted an atmosphere that was upbeat and encouraging and I found it here. I went in to take a look around and the staff were so nice, professional, and answered all of my questions. The coaches are so fantastic! They push you and modify certain parts of the workout to accommodate different fitness levels. I love going to Bootcamp and Kickboxing and never thought I would be in a fitness class at 6:15am and actually enjoy it! If anyone is on the fence about a gym or whether you are ready to start a new routine, this is the first place I would recommend checking out.

Motivating atmosphere. Coaches are super friendly and attentive. Classes are fun and leave you feeling unstoppable! The other members are also a great example of the positive attitude that is shared throughout the gym and are very supportive. Great group environment that pushes you to your max. Kickboxing classes and bootcamp classes, best combo ever. Every class leaves you feeling sweaty and accomplished. The best part is that classes are only 45 minutes. Big plus!

Joined this gym a little over a month ago and it has been an amazing experiences. I was not in the best shape prior to joining, but the workouts are designed to be done by all fitness levels. The trainers are also very motivating and helpful. At this gym I feel like I am improving in all areas, from strength, to endurance, to form. If you are looking for a friendly gym with strong workouts that will really help you improve, this is the gym for you.

I am absolutely loving my experience at grit box fitness. The staff are friendly and super helpful! I love the classes and I’ve never said I liked a fitness class before! Really have enjoyed my time so far! Found them through Classpass and the variety of different things you can do here is awesome. Which is why I decided to go ahead and join. Ive taken kickboxing and boot camp several times (maybe close to 10 of both classes) and every time I get personal direction from the coaches. And according to my Apple watch I burn on average anywhere from 500-700 calories in classes that arent even an hour long!

I love Grit Box! I had wanted to try kickboxing for years but couldnt find a place. Two weeks after moving to Charleston I joined Grit Box and it is worth every penny! Ive tried several gyms in Charleston and GritBox is by far my favorite. The workouts can be challenging but the supportive environment and friendly fellow gym goers make the experience enriching and fun. I actually feel more energized when I leave! I just signed up for membership and I know that, with consistency, Ill be in my ideal shape in no time!

Awesome gym and Cody and his team are awesome! I’ve tried another kickboxing gym before and it does not compare to Gritbox. A main call out is there is a 24 hour gym that you can use here. The coaches are all motivating and will make sure you are training correctly. There are a lot of interval training gyms and classes that the instructors are NOT doing this and leaving people to injure themselves by doing workouts incorrectly. Give Gritbox a try, you’ll love it!

The Grit Box 6 Week Challenge Bootcamp has been the best thing Ive done for myself in a long time. You have an accountability partner, a great group to train/transform with, and its never boring! I can feel Im getting my moneys worth, and cant wait to see the difference at the end of this six weeks. There are brand new exercises every time, and I never knew how fun boxing could be. This gym is like none other in the best way possible!

New gym and great prices. So excited for kickboxing classes to start! Its in West Ashley on Wappoo and spacious. Cody Cooper trains me and he is the best trainer I have ever had. He pushes me and the music is awesome in the gym. Love the space to do lunges and not feel crowded. Laid back environment and Cody is very knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition and is helping me train for a bikini competition.

I’ve never done a contract gym membership, but I love it! I love that you can take classes and access the regular side of the gym 24/7. You get points for attending classes that you can redeem for various gifts/treats- my favorite is a smoothie after class. I got hooked here by doing their 6-week challenge, which I highly recommend! Since I’ve never had a prolonged gym membership, the 6-week challenge was a good way to ease into working out again without a year long commitment, and joining Grit Box was a no-brainer after those 6 weeks!

Joined GritBox in August and have been having a great time working out and sweating with the awesome training of Cody Cooper. New trainers have been added and each one brings the same drive and passion to the gym that Cody brings. This is a place where you will work out and become part of a community of people who are driven to have healthier lives! The kickboxing classes are awesome, the boot camp classes are always new and challenging, and the general equipment is all new and well maintained. Every member pushes and encourages each other and there are no strangers working out here. Come join in the fun!

Cody Cooper does an incredible job at Grit Box Fitness. Trainers are very knowledgeable, motivating and help you through out your workout. He also has an amazing central location with lots of parking. Very easy to get to from Downtown and James Island.

The grit box program has my enthusiastic evaluation. The staff are very professional, but they also encourage participants to have fun and not to view exercise as something laborious. The participants are positive and get along well, Never is heard, a discouraging word!

We joined Grit Box about a week ago and could not be happier with our decision to do so. To start, Cody and the rest of the instructors have been so welcoming, which is a huge positive because a lot of gyms and gym staff have the tendency to be kind of cold. The atmosphere, between the instructors, the other members, the incentives, unparalleled. Next, the classes. Oh the classes. They are the BEST worst thing you will do. You sweat, you might cry, youll be pushed to the max BUT you will leave feeling so great and accomplished. Cannot recommend this gym enough !

Hands down the best gym Ive ever been a part of. I didnt just join a gym, I joined a family, the Grit Fit Fam. Cody and all the trainers take the time to know you and want you to succeed. The kickboxing and boot camp classes are tough, but the results are worth it. My only regret with this gym is that I didnt join sooner.

Cody, Cam, and now Alyssa (sp?) run a great program and continuously build on an inviting and addicting atmosphere. Through thick and thin, they persevere and always keep a positive attitude. From the first moment you walk in, they make sure you know how to properly wrap your hands, how to punch with proper form, and even give you nutritional guidance - this feeling of being part of such a close-knit community is what keeps me coming back. Plus, the fact that Cody built this system himself pretty much from the ground up is truly inspiring. The workouts are intense, the beats are rockin, and the vibe is amazing. Theyve got something for everyone, regardless of fitness level, gender, or experience. Come here and you wont regret it.
