Gold’s is great! I’ve only been to the North Charleston location and it’s huge, very clean, and the staff is super kind and professional. Great class schedule and trainers, and plenty of space even in the free weight area.

Great gym. All the equipment youll need to do whatever your fitness goals are. The staff is awesome.

Golds gym is a place that puts a smile on my face as I walk in. Staff associates are super welcoming, which was one of the selling point for me since i just recently move to this town. Makes it feels like home. So appreciative of that.

Last evenings experience took thus rating down. We had the weekly balance/stability/stretch class, and it was great! Unfortunately, they ran a boxing class next door and the boom boom music was so loud we could not hear our instructor. It was tension building boom boom, so worked directly against the breath and relaxation needed for proper stretching.Hearing loss begins at 85 decibels, last nights boxing class was over 106 decibels - and that was just on our side!! Inside their room was much higher! Unbelievable!!

Golds Gym on Ashley Phosphate in North Charleston is one of my favorite places to get a really good workout in. They have just about everything you need all in one place to take care of yourself. This gym is well managed and maintained and the staff here is very friendly and accommodating if you need anything. I have had a good experience every time I have been here and it is good to know there is a quality gym here.

Golds Gym is an excellent place to work out! The childcare is wonderful and provides a safe/ fun place for your kids to go while you pull away to refuel! The gym is equipped with a huge variety of machines and classes from Barre, spin, and boxing to hiit training, weight lighting and body pump! The tanning beds, massage chairs, and theatre room add an extra level to this retreat! My personal favorite team unity work out is Board Challenge! This is a place where friendships are made! For $40 a month the possibilities are endless!

Gold North Charleston is the best gym!! It’s super clean and has amazing staff and trainers. I love their boxing and classes. They also have group challenges every week where you work together as a team to complete a hiit workout. This is an awesome way to meet people and become apart of the golds family! I have felt so welcome and apart since I stepped foot in the gym! Also if you have kids the kid care is top notch! My kids look forward to going every day! Best gym around!

No better place in Charleston to work out! I will run out of superlatives to describe the management team, staff, and trainers. They all genuinely care about the members, their goals, their needs, and will go out of their way to make sure you are welcomed and get exactly what you need out of every workout. I doubt there is a better group of trainers in the area, and the entire staff is professional, friendly, and will not hesitate to assist in any way needed. There is a reason why I would consider this my home gym, more than the equipment I use, its the people I would now consider friends and family. Stop in, sign up, and enjoy the process.

This gym is amazing. They offer yoga classes, boxing classes, and the dumbbells go up to 150 pounds. They even hold weightlifting competitions. This gym has something for everyone! The staff is super friendly as well!

The gym staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! There is ample equipment and a variety of classes geared towards many fitness levels. There is a genuine sense of camaraderie between members and I truly enjoy training at the Golds Gym in North Charleston. The personal trainers there are also top notch!

Ive been to a lot of gyms and this is by far the best! The staff is so friendly, and you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. All of the instructors are knowledgeable and go above and beyond. The facility is always clean and theyre always adding things to make it even better. The Friday morning HIIT/Spin class is my personal favorite!

I looove this gym. The childcare is especially great. I have so many friends say that they’d like to go to a gym but are worried about leaving their young kids with a stranger, and I always tell them to try Gold’s! The childcare staff is so kind and professional, and they’re ALWAYS cleaning. The whole gym is nice and clean, and the staff is always so welcoming; I am always greeted by name. People talk about their “Gold’s Gym Family” and it’s true — it’s really like a family there. I drive past at least three other gyms to get to Gold’s.

Great gym. Great prices. Great classes. And board challenges that are made by a Mad Scientist named Chris! Highly recommend this gym. Get in, get to know people, and better yourself everyday!

Before May 2019 I was seriously considering weight loss surgery. I spoke to Chris at Golds Gym and arraigned a consult with him. After the meeting my views changed and I must admit I’ve never looked back. I look forward to my sessions with my trainer and even though it’s always a challenge, I always seem to impress myself. I’m glad this place is here and I’m a member.

I started as a driver, taking my son for his training. I ended up a regular. It was a little intimidating at first, all the exercising equipment and no idea what Im doing. But the super professional, friendly and helpful staff are always there with advice. The gym has a wide range of equipment, great classes to choose from, my personal favorite cardio cinema, and they are always adding something new. I personally cant wait to start boxing classes. If youre looking for a nice, clean, friendly but professional place to exercise, Golds gym is a great place to check out.

Awesome staff, clean, great variety of classes. Tons of machines and free weights. The new boxing program is a sure hit and will challenge you !! Very welcoming gym !! The challenge boards are just that but the staff and other member will support and encourage you throughout the entire hour !! Great place to workout.

Golds Gym is awesome! Great classes with motivating trainers and staff! If your looking for equipment or classes Golds has it. From challenge board HITT and boxing to name a few that has my family coming back every week. You will definitely make friends too!!

While they offer a good variety of classes and workout equipment, apparently they do no back ground checks on any of their “trainers” and will hire anyone. The manager has been notified multiple times and still does nothing to fix the situation. I would NOT let your daughter go to the facility.

Recently participated in a boxing class taught by Chris Wells. This was one of the most intense workouts I have ever experienced. Hope to get back out there for another one soon.

Great Gym, Great employees & Attitude to help you. They offer a ton of classes for all levels of exercise. Personal Trainers are amazing and really help you develop a plan for you to achieve your goals. Clean new machines always in the best shape possible.

I love it!!! I check in and the staff has a little small talk and after that I start my workout. I am not your everyday gym rat but when I go I do not feel like the staff is judging me. The staff in the kids gym are very nice as well. I love the fact that I can always find a machine to workout on( treadmill, benches etc...

This place is the BEST!! I am not a person who can walk into a gym and get right into a workout. More times than not, I would end up on the dreaded treadmill...and then never want to come back! LOL! Gold’s North Charleston has SO much to offer I am never stuck in treadmill purgatory! From Personal Training (special shout-out to Chris Wells who has made such a huge impact on SO many lives) to Challenge Boards (if you don’t know what this is you HAVE to check it out!!!) to group classes (Spin, HIIT, Stretching, Barre, Let’s Move (low impact for those older members or ones with limited mobility)) to the recently added Golden Gloves Boxing, there is seriously something for EVERYONE!! And, the whole team (front desk, trainers, GM) is SO friendly, helpful, and encouraging...just AWESOME!!

One if not the best gym Ive ever belonged to. Theres a great atmosphere here and the employees make you feel like there best friend from the min you walk in. Ive convinced a ton of my friends to join ABCs they all love it too.

Visited very clean. Manager knowledgeable movies while you exercise in theater room (g and pg) family friendly. Missing pool- sauna and/or steam room. For similar amenities planet fitness better and cheaper

I really enjoy it here! Its not like 24hr fitness in Texas but its way better than any other gym in the area. It has a great staff along with great people to workout with.

I love how the monthly rate is so cheap and includes the kid area. I also love the hours the kids area is open. The only suggestion is more class options in the evening and weekends.

Chris Wells is the best trainer in Charleston! He helped me get on the path of health and wellness and just feeling comfortable in a gym!

Their equipment is okay, but when something breaks, it takes forever to fix it. The employees do not make any attempts to get to know members and whenever you scan your card, they’re staring at you to make sure that you’re indeed a member. They’re not a particularly friendly bunch. If you are still there half an hour before they close, expect the music and TV’s to be turned off. They don’t wait until it’s time to close to do all that. I tried to use a massage chair once, but I was told that I could only use it before I began working out because the sweat ruins their massage chairs.

Started going to Golds Gym in North Charleston about 7 months ago and couldnt have been more welcomed and encouraged by other members and staff. It is a great place to workout and I would recommend it to anyone.

They dont start daycare until 6 months. When the corporation says they start childcare at 8 weeks which is why I joined. Now I cant work out still. What about moms trying to get their baby weight off. The gym is good otherwise.

Golds Gym employees give false information and then management doesnt honor what you have been told.On top of that, Ive come up here to work out and no one ever bothered to show up to open the gym. After waiting over 30 minutes, I finally left. Way to ruin a 5am wake up and the beginning of my week!On top of that, Ive been in here when a Golds employee was arguing with guests about her relationship infidelity. Arguing and yelling out in the open about it. Shameful and embarrassing for everyone.Shameful Dishonest and Unreliable. Cant get much worse!

Ok, just went to check it out. Not a bad looking facility. But it was pricier than Id like. They require a 1 year contract. Huge turnoff. The lady who have gave me the nickle tour was nice enough. But she walked and talked so fast, it was like dealing with a car salesman. No offense to car salesman. And they were not even busy so I could not see why she couldnt have taken it a bit slower. Ill be checking out the other gyms in town.

Cost to much to have a workout . Manger has never spoken to me beside to Make sure I was sign in to her gym without trying to lift for free. Racist! Ive been to from CA to Fla never seen a staff workers with bad body like this. None of the workers seem happy to work there expect one dude. Its a paycheck job. Going to the other gym which is cheaper . It shouldnt cost so much for you too workout. 400$ a year (2015) vs now 140$a year (2016)

Terrible Experience!!! I am a Golds Gym member and was visiting from another state. I presented my membership key card but was denied the opportunity to workout at this gym location. I was told since they are a franchise and not part of a corporation, my membership could not be honored there. Disappointed.

I must say while the gym is definitely better than ESAC (or O2 Fitness their name is now) it definitely is not on the same level as other Golds Ive trained at along the East Coast. Im hoping they dump some more money into this place to bring it up to speed with the others...

The staff is always very friendly when approached and need help. This gym has a play area for the kids with staff who actually interact with the kids. The only thing bad about this gym is that it does not have sauna or a steam room in the facility. If they would add that this would be a five star establishment.

Toured the club, was very nice, did not honor my wifes work discount though, which is for the corporate locations. Not sure where we will join, its still between Planet Fitness, O2 and Golds Gym.

I totally can not wait to get away from here. The locker rooms are the worst Ive ever experienced. Tried to shower this morning, and the water just cuts off. Never thought Id be glad to return to Planet Fitness.

Very disappointed past 2 weeks have been there at 5 am and no one was there to open doors. I am sure it wasn’t intentional but very discouraging

Horrible enrollment eperience. Went one day to enroll they had 4 different packages to choose from and different prices to choose from as well 3 days later I go back to enroll the manager tell me now they only have 1 package and it was more expensive than all the others they had before. they should have adv me that those prices were promotional and were expiring I would have enrolled that same day.

Not a great free weight area. A lot of redundant machines taking up space. I thought Golds was a bodybuilding gym but this looks more like a planet fitness.

Everyday I hope there is not a MRSA outbreak. They have filled disinfectant spray bottles with water the last 12 months.

Staff is great, but for working people there are not enough spin classes in the afternoon. Can you add a 4:00, or a 5:00 option?

Not very military friendly, if you get stationed somewhere else you have to go in person to get out of the contract, if you dont they WILL not cancel over the phone, and if you dont pay they will send your info to collections, it is almost like a trap
