My dentist and their team are wonderful. Ive been going here for a few years now, and the current dentist at this practice, Dr. Todd Robinson, is truly excellent. He has been doing a lot of major work on my teeth recently, and has treated me with the greatest care, generosity and kindness. He seems to be very talented and skilled-- his work is careful and precise and my teeth feel better than they have in a while. Hes even called to follow up on the procedures that Ive had done there, and has been able to make time for me when an urgent issue needed to be dealt with. His assistant, Amber, is thoughtful and attentive...and a really talented artist! I was also recently seen by Dr. Fuller, who is usually based in their Burlington location, for periodontal work. He was so kind, and his work was efficient and thorough. Ive been faced with a big dental adventure recently and Im so grateful for the dentists and staff at Tarheel Family Dentistry.

Always an enjoyable experience-yes at the dentist. Even though I am new(er) to the practice, I feel as if I have been a patient for a long while. Everyone’s so friendly while still being very professional.

THFD is always kind, always checks in on what you prefer for options for treatment, and most importantly, they never shame you on what you want to do. Other dentists give you that guilt trip or make you feel like you are doing something wrong if you dont opt to do the most expensive treatment. They work with you and are always very helpful.

These are wonderful folks who really care about their patients. Im always happy to see them, and they make dental visits pleasant.

This is my first time as a patient in this clinic. Dr. Robinson is an excellent dentist: he and his nurse can listen my medical history and check the X-ray that was done in another clinic very carefully. Then, Dr. Robinson showed me the X-ray of my teeth, explained the cause of the problem, his diagnosis and treatment plan. Their work attitude and method are admirable. I believe his diagnosis also gave Dr. Robinson and his Nurse five stars.

I lost a crown on my tooth Friday evening and was in pain for most of the weekend. Even though Im a new patient since just relocating to the area Tarheel Family Dentistry saw me first thing Monday morning. Dr Todd Robinson is outstanding. I have dealt with 65 years of unusual dental sensitivity, and regrettably developed real anxiety over even normal dental procedures. Finding such a skilled professional (with terrific assistants) is really a relief and a boon.

I have extreme anxiety regarding dental visit stemming from major facial reconstruction I had as a teenager. Dr. Robinson and his staff are incredibly kind and patient. They take their time with everything they do, and I never feel rushed or embarrassed by anxiety. Dr. Robinson is very generous with his time; he will talk through all aspects of treatment until I am comfortable. They are also great at explaining the financial aspect, so there are no surprises when it comes to billing.

Even though they were supposedly short staffed that day ( flu going around) everyone was very quick, helpful and friendly.I am going back in a few weeks to get some more work done. I had a front tooth crown done at Tarheel Family Dentistry. I was initially terrified (after all it is my front tooth), but Dr. Robinson immediately calmed my nerves. Something about his demeanor makes you feel like youre safe and everything would work out fine, which it did!I’ve had many dentists in the past and have never had someone who seems to genuinely care about both my teeth and my comfort level. This last one—my comfort is very important to me so I was really appreciative of Dr. Robinson for being so soothing and constantly checking on me during the process. He is a really awesome dentist and person; The staff is friendly, kind and patient. I would recommend everyone I know to go here! Also my crown looks better than my real teeth!! :)

Tarheel Family Dentistry has been my go-to dentist for years. All the staff and dentists are always approachable, friendly, and willing to answer all my questions. The front desk staff does a great job of greeting and checking in clients, filing insurance, scheduling appointments, etc. The hygienists are always thorough and professional (I feel like my smile shines after each visit!) I went for my bi-annual cleaning today, and was well taken care of by both Amy (my hygienist) and Dr. Robinson. 5 stars all around!

Mj is by far the best employee I have ever had at a dentist. Her customer care skills are off the charts. Very warm and compassionate, she never makes me feel uncomfortable about having less than par teeth. Able to explain strategies, options and concerns in a very simple manner. Mj always makes my experience enjoyable!!Also, when COVID first started I called the dentist office at 11pm and left a message about a broken tooth. I was in a lot of pain. The in-house dentist called me back at like midnight to ask if i was ok and what he could do for me. Can’t even get that response time with my own family lol.

The staff at Tarheel Family Dentistry are just amazing. I have a terrible irrational fear of the dentists office and these folks have gone above and beyond to make me feel as comfortable as possible. My experience was exceptional from beginning to end. I called on Thurs with moderate tooth pain hoping to get an appointment for Saturday. Saturday was booked, of course, so she made an appointment for Mon. After talking with her she somehow made a way to fit me in for Saturday for an initial visit. She was so friendly, so great first impression!I was able to get in 2 1/2 hours before my scheduled appointment due to a cancellation. Again the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. They saw me and found some definite issues, which I knew they would. A few years back I went for an emergency dental visit elsewhere and never returned for the necessary follow up work, so I knew I would need a lot done. They were so friendly and explained everything that needed to be done, and actually did an unexpected procedure right then. They explained how to take care of myself for the next 24 hours and if I have any complaint, it is only that I didnt get written instructions for after extraction care. They did a good job explaining though and I think I remembered everything.I have never really had a dentist except for emergency care. They made me feel so comfortable and were so friendly and helpful that I know I have found my new dentist. Once I get through all the necessary major work, Ill be going for routine preventative care for the first time ever.Thank you everyone at Tarheel Family Dentistry for a great experience

After such a good experience, I quickly made my husband switch dentists to Tarheel Family Dentistry.

I needed a tooth repaired. The front office personnel were great in getting me an appointment quickly and were very professional. The repair was easy and VERY well done. I cant see any difference between my tooth and the repair. Amazing job!

I love this dentist office. Ive visited twice just for regular maintenance and x-rays and have actually enjoyed it. Everyone is friendly and engaging - Ive had so many experiences where the staff acts obliged to be pleasant, and this place is the EXACT OPPOSITE. All the procedures were clearly explained before starting, the facility was clean, and they were very conscious of not hurting me - flossing was gentle and they asked about teeth sensitivity before using cold water. Id recommend them to anyone!

Made an appointment 2 months in advance and they cancel it a week before and try to push it out another 2 months.. you’re 2 months behind but you’re just now telling me? right... NEW PATIENTS beware taking off work for an appointment, they’ll just remove you from the schedule first and push you to the back of the line if they’re too busy that day I guess.

Ready for an experience like no other? Dentist offices used to bring to mind long waits, sterile environments, gloved hands impersonally molesting your mouth. I just started my later-in-life journey to better oral health, initially including crowns, a filling and a wisdom tooth extraction. Dr. Robinson and his staff have fantastically made what could be an assault on my mouth - not to mention on my self esteem - several of the easiest, most proficient visits to any doctor I’ve visited. Explaining to you every step and working with your schedule is a very dandy way to run a business, an office, a place where people come to trust in your abilities. Hats off to Tarheel Family Dentistry for excellent care and follow up! Five stars - ten if that was an option.

I absolutely love this office. I have been afraid of the dentist for my entire life, and I finally found a place that makes me feel comfortable. Dr. Robinson is amazing! I had a root canal and I didn’t have any pain whatsoever. He was patient when I needed a break, and he made sure I was ok throughout the entire visit. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating, I’m so happy that I finally found a great dentist.

I love this dental practice. Everyone is incredibly kind, and although the building looks a little outdated, the equipment inside certainly isnt. I received excellent care there, and would have continued going had my insurance not changed to a company they dont accept. That being said, they accept most insurance companies and I highly recommend you check them out.

Wonderful staff! So so glad I chose this office. My mom is a hygienist so I’ve always been used to very thorough cleanings...Natalie went above and beyond! Dr Robinson is very personable and what I think I appreciate most is that he is straightforward and upfront about what you need done without nickel and dime’ing you. He & Natalie, my hygienist, gave me play by play cost analysis during my cleaning and exam. I felt like the only person in the office, which I most definitely was not, because they were all so attentive. Wait times were so minimal I didn’t even have time to open up my go-to time wasting apps; sorry Pinterest :(. He takes Ameritas Dental Insurance which is what most Duke Health employees have. After my experience today, I trust him & Natalie implicitly.

From beginning to end, they talked and teased each other while fixing my teeth as if I was not there. So disrespectful! They got my good tooth mixed up with the one that needed treatment. So unprofessional!!! This dental clinic broke my heart! Seriously!

That is not a good experience. I have to say I am largely offended by their dentist because of my language barrier. And their product and service does not worth the price. 3 months later I get a new flipper from other dentistry.

This was *hands down* the best experience I’ve had at a dental practice. Every person I interacted with had a smile, and was friendly and helpful. The technician spent extra time cleaning areas of my gums that I had mentioned were bothering me. And the dentist took the time to explain my options, and says he takes a cautious “wait and see” approach to areas of concern. No upselling here, or rush to get more money for more procedures. I have definitely found my family’s dental practice for life.

The hygienist was super friendly and attentive. Typically when I go to the dentist, 1 - it hurts, like they are trying to at least loosen my tooth in my gum when theyre cleaning, and 2 - I bleed *a lot*. So, when it had been 2 years since my last dental appointment, I was worried about facing the same old judgment and shame that dentists threw at me always for not flossing like I should. Not here - no negative comments, no surprised remarks - I didnt even taste blood or feel pain! And then when the dentist revealed to me I had a couple small cavities, she didnt scold me or reprimand me for being a child with an addiction to sweets - she explained that there are small crevices on the tops of teeth and sometimes food gets in there where toothbrush bristles cant - she literally was comforting me and making me feel better about my dental care routines despite needing fillings. Like, what?! Awesome bedside manner and the nifty sunglasses they give you to wear so they lights dont blind you are a game-changer, for sure.

Wow! From the minute I walked in, I felt welcome. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. The dentist treated me like I was like family!

I’ve been going here since i was in middle school and now im a college student. The staff are all so friendly and they take the time to get to know you. The dentist also takes the time to educate you on her procedures, and she has also inspired me to explore my career in dentistry.

Avoid at all costs. Runs late often. Sat in office for 50 minutes last time before giving up. Poor. Very poor. Drive to Durham if you have to but if you work for a living steer clear of this place. Otherwise if you dont work for a living and have time to burn, give this place a go.

Vary good dentist. They fit me in the same day. The staff was so nice from the lady at the front to the dentist assistant. The dentist explained step by step what he needs to do, and it was a good price too. They are now my dentist team.

I have been going to this dentist for about 2 years and for the most part it has been ok. The assistants at the front desk were friendly, but lately I wasnt pleased with having a bill of almost $80.00 that wasnt announced to me until half a year after a routine cleaning. During my cleaning, I asked if they could touch up my metal retainer in the roof of my mouth because it was barely loose. The dentist put a small smidge of glue on the corner and never told me before doing it how much it would be or that insurance might not cover. It wasnt until months later that I received an outstanding bill. I dont know whats happening with them or their business, but let me just say that Im glad Im moving and will have to find a new dentist.

They are amazing!!! I would never go anywhere else. Dr. Durusky is just absolutely great, fun, and he explains everything clearly. The staff is wonderful, helpful and patient. The office is very comfortable and you get to wear some awesome shades while they work on you. This was my second time getting some major work done by Dr. Durusky and the experience could not have been better. Not to mention I dont have insurance and didnt have to leave an arm or leg behind. Absolutely love them, wish I could go here for all of my medical needs.
