I found Karen and Michael by way of an e-mail sent from their organization. I had subscribed to a free magazine about the regions of NC and was contacted by two different real estate agencies. Karen was great helping us move into the area from out of state. After a short visit earlier in the year we made the decision to move to Durham. We had a lot of requirements that made house hunting a challenge. We needed to be close enough in to have access to a lot of health care providers, wed be boarding horses and needed to be close enough to get to them frequently, we needed space for guests and room to hold small gatherings and workshops, and we needed to stay within a certain price range.Once we got to Durham we hit the ground running. Our requirements kicked a lot of houses out of consideration. When we found houses, we often encountered that the asking price was way out of line with comps and sellers were unwilling to negotiate. Karen really went through some tough encounters with houses that looked promising but there was no way to make a deal that made sense.Karen also helped connect us to a contractor who helped us explored remodeling ideas, as we looked at houses that were possibilities but needed changes to really make them work. That help us consider some out of the box possibilities.We appreciated (and needed!) Karens perseverance, her common sense appraisal of the strengths and weaknesses of the properties we looked at, and her positive energy, to find the place that would work for us. Even after the move she helped us find some trades people to take care of some issues with the new house.
