GSR’s management has declined dramatically over the past several years. I have been renting from them for more than 5 years now. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MANAGEMENT. DO NOT RENT FROM GREEN STREET REALTY.In May, there was a fire in one of the units in my building. The firefighters had to break down my apt door for some reason which I figured was because they needed to make sure no one was in my apt (the fire came very close to my unit).First of all, it took the maintenance team a couple days to come out so I needed to temporarily fix the door myself in order for it to even close and lock properly. When maintenance finally came by, they supposedly temporarily fixed the door and left a note saying that they would come back TOMORROW to replace the entire door. No one came to replace the door the next day. No one called or emailed to give me an update.I decided to go into the office to ask about the status after waiting patiently for months. They checked the system and told me that they are still waiting for door parts to be delivered. I figured it was due to the pandemic that deliveries were delayed so I stayed patient once again and waited another couple months. It’s been 4 months already and I have received zero communication from the maintence team.I went into the office today to ask about the status of my replacement door, AGAIN. The response was unprofessional and frustrating. The office told me that they don’t see any work orders in their system for it. Which doesn’t make any sense since they checked the system before for it. Then, they go on to ask me why my unit was affected by the fire, something they should ask the fire department and an irrelevant question at that. I did not feel like they were trying to help. Instead, they made me feel like I was at fault. They had no new information for me today and their excuse was that they were not informed of the situation. If that’s the case, they need to improve their communication with employees within the management.I believe I have been very understanding and patient with them but now I’m really fed up with the entire GSR management. The maintence AND office team are terrible. They lie, they give you an attitude, and they just don’t care. Their head office managers are even worse.I have a lot more stories to tell to support my 1 star rating but I will just write about the experience I’m going through currently for now. I would also like to add that if I could, I would give them 0 stars.I will be moving out asap and will never rent from GSR again. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your housing needs.
My roommate and I just signed a lease for one of newest properties. Although some parts are still under construction, we really enjoy living there so far! The construction workers are respectful and friendly. And our property manager Jourdan Cohen is accountable, responsive, and shows great hospitality. We are glad that we got to move here!
406 E. Stoughton,- real estate agency by SMB investments, their sole priority is investment returns. This further means (maybe) they will not take the extra steps to invest money in services such as pest control, hiring more maintenance team, etc- management does not take care of their property. photo of how the outside of the building has looked for 2 months, going on three. Also the garbage can is not emptied often. (surrounding properties have a clean garbage system, not sure why it is different for green st?)- no pest control, bugs, ants, etc around the building.- do not recommend, management needs to do a better job for the amount of money they are making.
Shout out to the maintenance staffs! Everyone Ive met with are super friendly & helpful. Brian helped me with my washer today & I will definitely give him a 5 star for the service! He did everything so efficiently & I really appreciate the help. I am really glad that I can have my washer working just as fine so quickly :). Also there was another gentleman who helped bringing in the fan & cleaned after. I didnt get to catch his name, but I would also thanks for his help. Also - Jason, who is such a nice person, always helps out with the packages as delivery staff tends to leave those downstairs in open area. This really eliminates the missing/stolen packages issue. Thanks for doing that for the tenants!
I have been leasing with green street for 2 years now. Heading to 3 years. This year I met Jaime for my new leasing. She is very professional, responsive and helpful. She makes the leasing process very easy.
I lived at 713 W Church for a year. Not commenting on the units structural integrity, it was not clean, it was missing blinds, it had paint chipping in the shower, there were dead bugs in the cabinets, carpet was torn up and there was mold growing on the heating vents. I reported issues on my 4th day of residency and little was done by the company to solve the issues, except the above mentioned that could have caused legal trouble for them if I were hurt or got sick. After moving into a different complex, not managed by this property, I have been fined by Green St Realty for missing items that were not even present in the unit when I moved in and the exact things I complained about that were never fixed. Your story will most likely not be different. I will be disputing my claims. The best part about Green St Realty is when your lease ends.
Don’t rent here. The management is absolutely terrible and no matter how many times you reach out, they will NOT respond. We’ve dealt with rude neighbors who moved in a few months ago and throw parties until 3-4am at least 3x per week and even after the police have been called, informing management and trying to confront our neighbors kindly and ask them to respect quiet hours, nothing is ever done.We have families here- some recovering from COVID and need their rest, business professionals and loyal tenants who abide by the rules but that means nothing to green street realty. The apartments are nice but treat the tenants like dirt. It took 5 months for maintenance to reply to a broken laundry machine and we were given the run around with constant excuses as to why our issues weren’t addressed.
My nephew was in need of an apt for his senior year @ U of I. We met with Jamie, and did we hit the jackpot!!! She was so kind! Informative and answered any questions we had. She went above and beyond to find the right match for us!! We are so excited to find a safe, on campus affordable apartment. We have been down this road before, and finding someone who was honest, and genuine made all the difference in finding what we needed! If you need honesty, and someone who truly cares about others, call Green Street Reality and ask for Jamie!!She is the BEST!!!!!!!!
I’ll start off by saying that this is the absolute WORST apartment rental company in Champaign. Everything is broken and a lot of times, they take more than a week to a month to fix the issue. You have to call them every day to remind them to fix your unit. I’m renting out an apartment unit for my employees and there was one time when their AC was broken for over a month when it was 80 degrees+ outside. I submitted multiple maintenance requests and called numerous times, but they just simply do not care. The real turning point for me was when they went without running water in their unit for 5 days. Utilities are included, so Green St Realty is responsible for paying for the water bill. The reason why the water was shut off for so many days was because they did not pay for the water bill. Erin had informed me that they went ahead and paid for the water bill and that the water should be up and running again, but of course, it wasn’t. Erin told me to call American Water and figure out the problem myself, which I couldn’t because I didn’t have the account number for Green St Realty. This was completely their fault and responsibility. They told me that they’d reimburse me $0.79 per day they didn’t have running water for, which is absurd and an absolute slap in the face. Dottie told me she’d call me back with a better solution, but she never did. Worst management ever! DO NOT SIGN WITH GREEN ST REALTY.
I am getting ready to move into one of their buildings and am already sorely disappointed by their customer service. I called earlier this week asking about an early move in date and the woman on the phone just yelled, no early move ins for any unit or apartment! I hadnt even told her my name or what building I was moving into. I called again today, and although there was no yelling, they still werent very nice. They also refused to accommodate a weekend move in date even if it was after the date on the lease. I really dont understand how the people answering the phones can be so rude. I really hope this isnt what everyone at the company is like... and seeing the other reviews on here, they should probably consider not allowing that same woman to keep answering the phones when she is so disrespectful to paying tenants.
This is THE WORST company in Champaign-Urbana. The customer service is really bad, they do not take care of maintenance request, they do not care about tenants at all, they are liars and very rude. I am starting legal actions against them because this has been the worst experience I have had with landlords. They disrespect me and the most frustrated thing is that nobody in the company cares. Just to give you an example, they asked me to move temporarily to a different unit so they can renovate the one I was living in. I agreed and I was expecting they notify me when I can move back, but they never did it. One day, the new tenants of the temporary unit showed up in the apartment because it was moving day and I was still living there. Then the company gave me two days to move back as an ultimatum in a very rude way, as it would have been my fault!!! They tried to blame me for what happened, they forced me to move in two days, and I had to left my things in the hall until my original unit is empty again since the tenants of the apartment were living there for a couple of days. They didnt clean the apartment, and they didnt help with the moving. The day before, I went to the office and ask for the manager and he or she never showed up, then an agent talked to me with a very bad attitude, very rude as if all the mess they caused was my fault. They even said things that were not true and act very disrespectfully. I hope this review help people not to make this wrong decision and lease with this company. They are the WORST!!!
I rented from there for about two years and they do not care about anything. When I moved in my place was a mess and had damage everywhere. They apologized and ‘fixed it’. I then witness them do the same thing to three other people where they did painting and repairs hours before move in and letting people move in to a dirty apartment. I moved out in May and I still have yet to receive my security deposit it back. I have called and been put on hold every time to never be talked to. I have emailed and been told to called.
This review is for the apartment building at 122 W Hill St under the management of GSR. TLTR: Dont be fooled by this luxury apartment, the management/maintenance is poor and they are turning many units into student dorms. Tons of loud music/parties late at night. We are young professionals living here since June, 2020 and we cant tell you how much we regret renewing the lease this year.Management: We have had issues with noisy neighbors next door. They are college students and would party through the night, playing loud music. Weve called the cops twice and contacted the management multiple times. The management promised to take care of this but no action was taken.Maintenance: the maintenance team is TERRIBLE. The would ignore your requests or lie. We had a broken washer last December and it wasnt fixed until May. All they did was lying and making empty promises. The building side door has been broken for months yet they never care to fix it. In the winter, the would not even spray salt on the icy parking lot, even after multiple requests. Trash is piled up near the dumpster.Demographics: When we moved in in June 2020, a lot of units were empty, and people living in those occupied units were mostly professionals in the 30s or 40s. We enjoyed living here for about a year until GSR decided to turn many of those empty units into student dorms, where 3 or 4 people sharing one unit. Now we can hear people from the unit next to us and the unit above us gathering and partying late at night. This significantly lowered the living quality here, considering the rent range ($1200-1600 per unit).Apartment: The apartment is quite nice. Has really high ceilings. Appliances are new. The building was renovated in early 2019. It was a half way house before that. Location is good except that it is only few blocks from some sketchy neighborhoods. Despite of its nice appearance, the floor feels thin and makes cranky noises when you walk. You can hear people walking upstairs very clearly, and it is loud due to the echos.
This has been a physically and emotionally grotesque experience right from the start. I wish i would have read the dozens of 1 star reviews prior to renting from this evil company. If you ever meet the owner .. you will realize right away that his goals are to optimize the amount of money that he can squeeze out from college students. I wish there was an option to give no stars at all. This company accurately fits the stereotype of companies that are filled with con artists who act with malice and only care about money. They are analogous to some mechanics who lie about or inflate prices on what needs to be done on a car whilst pretending to care about your safety and vehicle. For starters, my roomates and i moved into a filthy apartment and the lady showing it to us claimed: this is not how we want our company represented... According to the other terrible reviews, this is sadly how their company is represented. We spent about 4 hours cleaning everything. My roomate was also extremely disrespected when she tried to enter their office to discuss the filthy conditions of the apartment. All the ladies at the front desk and Mitch provided her with nothing besides attitude. People in this company have neither heard of hospitality nor empathy. I have worked at some pretty cheap restaurants and have treated every customer ten times better (everyone basically did). There was also once a random $18 fee that had no other description than a generalized maintenance term. When i asked about it, one of the employees told me that after looking into it, they also had absolutely no idea why it was there. This kind of mistake only could have happened intentionally with malice or it was due to an extremely careless and idiotic employee (i am an engineer and know that there would be little to no way this could have been a glitch in their system that did it). Also, this occurred very shortly after we had a dispute with them about something.I also dreaded going into their office because there was always the presence of dogs and i am extremely allergic to them. They need to consider how not everyone can handle being around their animals due to medical concerns. This also gave off an extremely unprofessional experience in addition to the rude staff and owner. Trash of Europe run this company..
I moved into an apartment managed by them. Prior to signing the lease, the leasing agent told me that this place has internet included and that I dont have to pay for it. But after I signed and moved in, I found that theres no internet. So I had to contact Xfinity to setup on my own. On top of that, the stove is not working, the AC is broken, the laundry room is dirty and the apartment smells like trash! All of these maintenance problems should have been resolved prior to me moving it. I submitted a maintenance ticket online, but no response. This is the worst apartment management company. They have beautiful buildings and apartments, but the people who work at this company just cant do their job.
Never seen how a company own soooooo many locations, but cant seem to take care of more than one at a time..All about the money...PERIOD!!! but hey I got a roof over my head right🥴
I sent in an inquiry about potentially getting a new mattress just on a whim and they responded incredibly quick (first business day after my request). Casey came in to see what mattress I had and estimated it would be a week for a new one, but he was able to get one the next day. Installation was seamless and he was incredibly nice! The transparency was greatly appreciated as well with time estimates, etc. Thank you so much!
My buildings front entrance doors were broken and stayed unlocked, as far as I remember, at least half a year. I saw maintenance people walking through the broken door all the time, so I didnt even make a request. I guess they would fix it at some point I thought, and it has been over half a year. Then yesterday, my girlfriend and I came back from groceries and were greeted by a homeless guy (he identified himself as a homeless, asking change for a homeless) digging up packages inside the building. Naturally, I called the company to talk about it, and I said I wanted the front door to be fixed, and they just hung up. Not asking contact information for a follow up, no information how long it would take, just hung up. There are married couples who raise their kids in this building, plus the rent is over a thousand dollars per month for a studio this year, which makes this whole thing ridiculous. I really wish you would think it again if you are like me two years ago thinking It would be all right despite all these bad reviews.
Kathrine at the Urbana apartments is not only a professional woman but very kind hearted she does her best to accommodate needs of others. She also has helped me find a couple things ive needed as im starting over.VERY WELCOMING AND UNDERSTANDING..I look forward to my move on the 1st to the Urbana apartments. She makes me feel as if i can stay awhile.KATHRINE IF YOU SEE THIS I HIGHLY APPRECIATE YOU AS A PROFESSIONAL AND WOMAN AND I THANK YOUR FOR EVERYTHING!!BEST of wishes on your journey i look forward to seeing you in the future.
Be very careful if you want to rent a place with Green Street Realty (GSR). So our ordeal begins when we went to view a remodeled unit on White St, Champaign and the leasing agent was very welcoming and said the apartment was pet friendly (nothing was mentioned about any size limit) and everything will be completed by August 20, our move in date. He even went onto say the utilities were all inclusive (they still advertise it as such as evident from the attached screenshot). Our first warning sign was that on the day of signing the lease, he texts us and says apparently he had the wrong information and the electricity and water is the tenants responsibility. We were taken aback by this sudden change but still opted to go ahead with the unit as it is very close to our workplace. So, on the day of our move-in, the first thing we find is that the main door hasnt been replaced yet. It was still the same old ugly door, full of scratches and holes. The air-conditioning was probably from the stone-age with enough dust on it to make you fall sick (picture attached). They took around a month or so to replace both (only after the 2nd monthly rent was paid). We werent even informed when they will come to replace the main door. My wife was in the middle of a zoom meeting when someone literally started breaking the door, locking both of us inside the apartment. In addition to this, the bedroom windowpane and cabinet came off the day we moved into the unit (again took an entire week to fix them). My wife was planning to adopt an ESA. We really liked a dog at our local animal shelter, and everything was more or less taken care of apart from the shelter people calling GSR. The receptionist at the GSR office apparently told the shelter personnel that the apartment is only for small dogs / cats (again, nowhere mentioned in the lease agreement). When my wife gave GSR a call about this, she was told to get an ESA approval letter and once they do a background check on it, they will give the green signal to the shelter. Of course, this takes time and by the time my wife submitted documents to GSR, the ESA she wanted was no longer available. Nevertheless, the GSR leasing department confirmed they have my wifes record in their system and if they get another such call about an adoption, they will approve it.A week later, my wife got in contact with another adoption center (this time for a 2-month old puppy) and again, GSR told the shelter home that pets are not allowed in our unit. Interestingly enough, they are still trying to rent out these units as pet friendly, for Fall 2021 (screenshot attached from their website). My wife called GSR once again and the receptionist started accusing my wife of not showing any ESA approval and also, they can apparently change the terms of the lease whenever they want as far as pets are concerned (keep in mind, this is not a case of a pet at the property being violent to another person). When my wife pointed out to the fact that the GSR leasing department already has her ESA letter and they have already forwarded her a GSR animal leasing document, the receptionist (realizing the mistake) started making excuses that their system wasnt updated yet (apparently there is no communication between the leasing department and the reception) and told us to make the shelter call them once again. These rejections basically end up blacklisting my wife at the shelter homes, who will not want to deal with problematic property managers.Be very careful if you are planning to consider GSR properties as your next address. My suggestion, find someplace else.
My experience with Green Street Realty was nothing short of spectacular. After a life time of bad experiences with apartments, I was debating if I perhaps I was simply not destined to abide in an apartment. Perhaps a condo would suit me better. But I decided to give it one last attempt and boy, I am so glad that I did. A sturdy young gentleman, Riley Morris, restored my faith in apartments. He made me feel something again. I will be recommending Green Street Realty to all of my friends, who will then recommend it to their friends, and so on. The professionalism and quality of Green Street Realty is unmatched. I have never dealt with a business as swell as Green Street Realty and the fine young men that work there.
POOR maintenance service and rude customer service/ receptionist lady.I have been having bathroom leak problems for more than NINE MONTHS now. The management finally did something about it (after many complaints) two weeks ago. But now there has just been a hole in my bathroom ceiling for two weeks. And the staff does nothing but shirk the issue from what I can tell. I just talked to a lady from green st. and she was rude, refused to give me any information and cut the call on my face saying a sarcastic thank you, because she did not have the patience to talk to me. Very very poor and disappointing service.
I’ve been in the field south apartments for 2 months and since then my stove broke down. My heat wasn’t work and now my A/C is broken again and it’s 95 degrees in my apartment with no functioning A/C. I contacted the building manager Amy Peterson and nothing was done. God forbid I have a heat stroke in here. THE WORST “luxury apartments” I have ever lived in. It is this building’s responsibility to verify that the amenities and appliances are working appropriately prior to tenants moving in. It’s very hypocritical how they state on the lease everything that they’ll charge you for but can’t make sure that their amenities and appliances are functioning properly before tenants move in.
WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE at Green St. Realty. Their idea of asking you if you want to renew your lease is by scheduling showings for your apartment SIX MONTHS before your lease is up. When I called them to let me know I was planning on renewing my lease they said they would make note of it. However when I made it up to the office to renew my lease they said they had already signed it over to someone else!!! Even though there are other units where I live that the new tenant can move in to. Literally disgusted by this company and their ethics. When I talked to the vice president, Jenny, about my concerns she responded with sarcasm and said, Welp now you have to find somewhere else to live. I am sickened and most of all DONE with this leasing company.
I have to say that the apartment Im living in is not bad and I think a few of the maintenance people are friendly and helpful. BUT, some of the staff members are indeed rude and unprofessional. This is the main reason Im giving them 1 star.I had a parking issue a few days ago. I parked my car in (where I believe is) the correct parking space, but my car got towed. It turned out that they issued different versions of parking maps to tenants, creating misunderstanding and confusion. However, they were not willing to admit that this was their fault. They simply said an updated map was distributed, so similar problems shouldnt happen again. I called their office twice and emailed with them back and forth but got no apology, no nothing.Overall, I believe they have some good/okay properties, but in terms of management and customer service, they really need to train these people. At least be kind if you have no idea what you are doing.
0/5 stars. Nice apartment, but terrible property management. Snow removal non-existent. Dont plan on going anywhere if you have a parking spot at 122 W Hill. Contacted multiple times - states it is not their responsibility since they hire a third party vendor; however, snow removal IS INCLUDED IN THE LEASE.I got stuck in the parking spot itself, contacted property management and didn’t come help at all. Thank goodness for a good Samaritan from organ loft building next door with a shovel.
The apartment is really nice. However, the staff at green street realty is not. I emailed them a couple of times with my issues. I wasn’t in my apartment for sometime so I reached out to make sure that thermostat was off and they were rude. They don’t know how to talk to people and say some very rude things. I randomly get emails that there will be showings at my apartment which is fine if the staff wasn’t so rude and demeaning.
Company comes up with incorrect charges at the end of your lease, mails the bill to the address you dont live at and does not forward it, let alone call you. They then send the bill to a company that attacks your credit score. They loose your initial papers and make up charges so the bill they charge you for never says what for. They charged me incorrectly in January and finally sent me the incorrect refunds back (because they lost my paperwork) 3 months later, after several phone calls and being hung up on multiple times. Extremely unprofessional, and probably scamming college students for money based on incorrect charges. If you rent here, keep copies of all your paper work and do a walk through video of the space before you move in. And never delete or get rid of these items until a year after you move out. It seems nice at first, but at the end they charge you so much and are not accountable with their reasons or paperwork.
Jamie from Green Street dropped everything she was doing on her Saturday off to help my daughter find an apartment for her when she starts her PhD program this fall. My daughter is currently a senior at USF in Florida, and was only able to go to Champaign on one day, so finding a comfortable and safe place to live was imperative. Jamie made the process easy, fun, and smooth from beginning to end. She answered every question quickly and honestly, which is more than I can say about some of the other people/places we dealt with. Thanks to Jamie, my daughter found a great place to live in one day, and now can just focus on graduating and then moving to Champaign in August to embark on this next chapter in her life. I’d work with Jamie and Green Street anytime. .
Deducted $125 from our security deposit for cleaning even though we left the apartment in better shape than when we moved in and took many pictures. They refused to explain to us what they had cleaned and stopped responding altogether. Very rude and unhelpful. Enjoyed it the first year because the building was nice, but once we didnt renew with them the second year they were very unfair. Do not recommend.
Campus view: Green Street Reality saved a lot of money on cleaning:) Will not recommend living here
I cannot say enough good things about the maintenance man, Casey McGarry. He’s always so helpful and has a can-do attitude. It’s really important to me to have service when I need it and Casey has helped me several times. The work that’s been preformed is A+.
I would like to say that I was pleased with the maintenance I received from Casey. He took his time and did a very thorough job. He made sure I was satisfied with his work before he considered the job complete. I’m very happy.
Casey was awesome today. He showed up about 20 minutes after I made my maintenance request. Replaced my dead bolt within 2 hours and we had great conversation. He also repaired my garbage disposal last week, and he offered to fix a seal in my bathroom sink. If you could ask for someone specific, Casey is your guy.
Terrible management. Dirty apartment and hallway when I move in. Mail box key is not working. Front desk employees are not nice.
Nice doing work for them a good business
I’ll start by saying the maintenance consists of hard-working, kind individuals - but every time I call for maintenance, the office people transfer me to a voicemail that goes, “Hello, this is Courtney! Please leave a message after the beep!”I am just having trouble understanding why GSR would want to keep Courtney as their answering machine message, considering the multitude of poor reviews of Courtney here. Any thoughts? Does no one know how to change the answering machine message at GSR? Courtney hasn’t worked there in like a year, right?
Taylor had helped me and my friend find a place to live, and she was more than helpful! If you need to talk with Green Street Realty, definitely ask for Taylor! She is extremely nice, helpful, and will take the time to help you figure things out
We have concrete dust and mold in our apartment since we moved in. Also our water stopped working today and they said we can’t do anything about it. NO WATER!!!!! MOLD!!!!! damage issues not being handled!!!! TERRIBLE LEASING COMPANY…RATHER CHECK OUT: Roland, Bankier, or anything else!!!!!! i can’t explain to you how frustrated and SICK i am!!!! seriously sick
I was in contact with “Preston”. Never have I dealt with someone so willing to help as he was. You can tell he loves what he does. I would recommend asking for him by name if you’re doing business with Green Street Reality.
DO NOT RENT FROM THEM ALL THE GOOD REVIEWS FAKE BY THE STUFF. green street extremely rude If u DONT read any other reviews read mines only want yo money These ppl skum lords
Avoid them at all cost. Extremely slow maintenance and rude front desk who will hang up your phone. Worst rental experience ever in UC.
DONT REBT FROM THEN THEY DONT CARE ABOUT NOTHING BUT MONEY POOR MANAGEMENT
I’m very impressed with the service I get when there is an issue! I personally want to say that Casey James is an exceptional employee and pays close attention to detail when I may have any issues at my residence.
Casey has proven to be one of my favorite employees inside of your company. Always smiling and eager to help! Thank you!
I cannot say enough how good of a job Casey McGarry did for us. He was attentive, personable and got the job done. We were pleased!
Beautiful apartment complex. Loved it when I stayed here. Never had a problem once with the staff or utilities. Riley Morris was especially extremely helpful!
It was the worst apartment in which we have lived so far at 800 W Church street. Green Street Realty at Neil street is not a fair office. Before the sign of the lease, the manager showed to us the pictures of the apartment in the same building which was after the reconstruction. The manager said we would receive the apartment in the same condition. However, in the day of moving in the apartment was not prepared and nobody inspected it. Some of the pictures are attached. The apartment was very dirty and most of staff were broken and old. After a call, they fixed the major issues at the same day and gave to us 100$ of the credit. We were very lucky that we had signed the lease for 6 months only. After each rain, we found one of the bed room full with water. It took 3 months for Neil Street office to fix it. We could not to use the oven, since when it was working we were found ourselves in the room of full of smog. We tried to clean it several times - it did not help.In the day of moving out we left the apartment clean. We washed everything. The Neil Street office made the inspection of the apartment without us and not in the same day. Maybe a couple of weeks after. They found issues in the apartment. They did not return the deposit (198$) and required to pay 50$ additionally. The reasons were: bathtub showed soap scum, the bottom shelf on the fridge were cloudy/dirty, oven was dirty, dirty floor, the hole in the door.I wrote them one question and have not receive the answer on it. The question is: Nobody came to inspect the apartment in the day of our moving in. How can you be sure that we have left the apartment in the worse condition than we had received it? How can you be sure that all mentioned problems we did and not someone before us (like the hole in the door) or because everything is very old and cannot be cleaned anymore?
Casey did an amazing job! He was professional, responsive and reliable! He was very quick and understanding of my time!
I dealt with Riley Morris and he was absolutely amazing! He made the process super easy for me and was so kind & professional. Green Street has amazing leasing agents!
The help I received from maintenance was great! My request was responded to quickly and my concerns were fixed! Brian, the maintenance worker, even stayed to fix something in my place that was separate from the maintenance request. So grateful he stayed to fix my door before the cold weather came through!
I was very lucky to have Taylur Ed. help me out with an apartment search. I told her exactly what I was looking for, and she quickly provided me with several different living location options. Though I ended up moving to a different city, I would10/10 recommend these guys!
I have been very pleased with the apartment. I especially enjoy the Amenities deck, as I use the grill nearly every night and have recently enjoyed a drink by the fire-pit. Amy and Casey have been awesome and always quick to respond to any issue I may have.
I spoke with two representatives named Riley Morris and Preston Summit during my time with Green Street Reality and they were very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. Overall great living experience and would highly recommend.
I had been looking into a few places with Green Street, and they were super helpful. Taylur was who was helping me out and she met every one of my needs. 10/10 recommend going through them.
Taylor is amazing! She truly cares about what she does and puts her heart into it. Love seeing her work hard at advertising the amazing offers you give.
I recently signed a lease for an apartment on campus for fall 2021. I had a great experience with both Preston and Riley, who are leasing agents. They made sure I received a signing discount, taught me how to access and use the portal, and made sure to show me all the options within my price range. I am excited to have them as a resource this fall and use their services in the future!
Before you sign contract with them, you should understand that they dont allow re-rental! Once you signed, you stick to that apartment until the lease expired. Some other landlords in Champaign-Urbana area, such as CPM, do allow re-rental. Think twice before signing.I signed contract with them, but I need to leave Illinois, due to change of job. I have a very hard time subleasing my apartment. Each time you sublease it, you need to pay 150$. You can not pay online, the only way to pay is by cash or money order. For people not in town, you need mail the money order! Think how long it takes to delivery the mail. The whole subleasing process is very painful.
Preston was very professional an welcoming. Business was high quality through this company. Customer service was incredible. Would recommend! the
I live in 58 E Healey St. The apartment looks ok first but things started to turn bad after I live here for few days. First, the microwave overheated because the fan didnt work. I submitted a maintain request on Aug 21st. The maintainance person came very fast and checked the microwave and said the microwave should be replaced and he would let the company know. But it still havent been replaced on Sep 10th today.Second, I submitted a request to repair the door because it was extremely hard to open or lock with key. The door was ok to use one day I went back home, so I was thinking someone has fixed the door. However, after 11 days (today), one maintainance person showed up and asked me if the door is ok now? Now, I am very confused about the maintainance system of greenstreet.Third, after living here only twenty days, the vent fan in the bathroom is severely leaking. Ive tried to turn on the vent fan for a very long time but it doesnt help. I dont know how long it will take the maintainance to come this time.Fourth, the apartment is NOT soundproof at all. I could hear the music from upstairs clearly few days ago, so I left a note to the person lives upstais. Although he turned down the music now, everytime when he walks upstairs, the ceiling is always creaking. This is very annoying especially in the morning. But I definitely cant ask him to stop walking, so I need to accept the creaking noise until I move out. The worst thing is, I dont know how many other problems this apartment will have.I give three stars here because the apartment location and price is good and the deposit of greenstreet realty is only $99, which is acceptable. Additionally, the apartment was very clean and was disinfected when I moved in. I really appreciate the effort they made for clean the apartment. But I think other people who want to live here should know what Ive met for now and think carefully about if these problems are acceptable for them before they choose to live in greenstreat realty apartments.
These are some of the nastiest most unprofessional individuals I’ve ever worked with!
Casey did a fantastic job! He was quick, efficient, and professional. Very grateful for his help!
I had such a great experience with Preston S. Showing me apartments. He was so knowledgeable and so professional. Just an overall great experience!
Riley was amazing!! He helped me find the perfect space and took what I needed into consideration. Thanks again!
I have had a great experience at Green St Realty. Taylor E. was very professional and answered all questions I had about the location. My daughter is a freshman at UIUC and loves it there!
So first off, i would like to clarify that 90% of the positive reviews here are fake and written by their employees. Second, this is the most unethical and unprofessional entity i have ever seen. They will pull money out of your pocket on multiple occasions by wording their lease in certain ways. These people will not last long but until they run out of people to scam, please do not let yourself deal with them.
Distasteful, negligence and overall horrible. It has been more than a month they havent fixed my mailbox. The guy came to change the key lock broke the mail box said he will be back in 20 min to fix it and a month later still nothing. They forgot to give me the main doors keys and i was locked outside. The main door has been broken and needs 3-4 tries to open for years now still no change. The roofs are filled with mold. they sent someone a month late to see it the guy says oh someone is coming to check if the water is still leaking and then no one shows up.They simply send you to the next person or just disappear. Horrible service should be sued for purposeful negligenc eUpdate: They have been much better now. They came and fixed everything over the week on several occassions. Also jason did a great job and explained everything
Staff is super friendly and helpful; answered any questions I had. Cant wait to live in one of their properties!
Terrible leasing agency. They do not care about their tenants at all and just want to scam you for money. They do not respond to maintenance requests, and also do not care about having nails/broken glass scattered throughout their property. I had to get four new tires for my car because they refused to clean their own renovation mess. Then they simply told me, be more careful when you drive. Will never lease with them again, and I will tell as many people as I can to not lease with them.
I am so grateful for the property maintenance Green Street Realty provides. Casey is always quick to lend a hand without complaint!
My son is leasing from Green Street for his sophomore year at the U of I. They have been responsive to any issues and the apartment is very nice and clean. Riley is the leasing agent and is great to work with.
I worked with Taylor and had a great experience. She was so easy to work with and we were shown an apartment and signed the same day. Green street rocks!!
I had a very positive experience with this company. Taylur Edrington went above and beyond to answer all of my questions in a timely manner. Although I didn’t go with this property it was hands down the best service I received while looking. I will definitely be looking here again in the future.
Casey has always been super helpful and eager to get the job done with a smile. I always appreciate his help!
Josh did a phenomenal job with helping me find an apartment. Would 100 percent recommend to anyone.
Ive had a great experience with Green Street Realty. They have always been happy and able to answer my questions. They also answer very quickly.
Casey came by quick and got everything taken care of and made sure it was working right after my power went out. Also was very friendly and a good communicator.
Josh is one of the best realtors I have ever worked with. He was kind, compassionate, professional, and made my experience at Green Street Realty amazing. THANK YOU JOSH!
Taylur found the best unit available for me. She was super professional during the whole process. The location was perfect. 103 Healey is near a lot of good places if you haven’t already signed a lease.
Property is very well maintained. Any concerns I’ve had with my unit have been handled quickly and professionally by Casey.
If we have a maintenance issue, Casey McGary handles our issues extremely timely. We appreciate the quick service.
Absolute terrible company. The office staff is never co-operative. The apartment itself was fine but you will NOT get your deposit back regardless of how well you take care of your apartment. I scrubbed everything down and they still charged me over $100 for a dirty fridge and bathroom, among other charges. I left the apartment in better condition than when I moved in and this is what theyre doing to get more money out of you than they already have. I have had friends with this problem too and knew I should have taken need to their warnings. Honestly just dont give your money to this company.
I would like to say Casey is a very hard worker and does excellent at his job and also very prompt!
I really enjoyed staying at Fields South apartments. Property Manager Amy Peterson is wonderful so sweet really good at her job I would definitely recommend asking for her
Property Manager Amy was extremely helpful during the leasing and move in process. All follow up requests have been quickly addressed.
Green Street Realty is not a company that you want to rent from. I have asked them to fix leaks in the building for over a month, and now black mold is growing. When they fix it they just pant and plaster over the mold in hopes that it fixes itself. I have been to the doctor multiple times and have been told that I am starting to show symptoms of asthma to exposure to mold. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED! I hope that this review will inform them, because work orders dont. Not only are the slow on fixing leaks, they are unfair when they grant pet leases. It was my hope to adopt a dog that would grow to 30 pounds, but he would be to big according to GSR. But my neighbors have dogs that are over 50 pounds! This is unfair to everyone.
From the beginning of my walkthrough for my apartment to be, I was treated with the utmost respect and responsiveness by an employee named Preston. Seemed like a chill dude and definitely knew what he was talking regarding appliances, amenities, etc. I would highly recommend leasing with Green Street, as I plan on doing the same the next couple of years!
I was greeted by two handsome young men by the name of Riley and Preston. They guided me through the process of obtaining an apartment through green st. They were polite and well educated Individuals.
A terrible experience and the building in I stayed had a roach infestation. Courtney and Jenny were absolutely awful. That will probably be a compliment to them as they seem to be set out on being the worst, unreasonable people they can be. They will probably comment and say they don’t recognize anyone who rented by my Google name since it is not my real name.
Amazing customer service provided by Josh. Incredibly helpful, respectful and was able to answer all questions I had ... Highly recommend!
This place has very nice rooms. Riley Morris, a friend of mine, recommended it to me and it is the best choice I’ve ever made.
Still no heat I complained about this when I first moved in in Feb. No heat in the house and the stove doesnt work correctly. I have contacted them for months and had them out to fix things numerous times to have the same issues. I was told the heat would be taken care of before it got cold. Well, I woke up to it being 32° and this business hasnt even bothered to call and follow up. Nobody knows what is going on and they give you lots of words with no action. File complaints with Better Business Bureau and Attorney General Office.
Rented an apartment with the help of Taylor. She made the process so quick and painless! Love Greenstreet!
I had a great experience here!! There was an outstanding employee, Josh Gerenrich, that helped me immensely and was very kind! 10/10!
Bryan Goode was awesome to work with! It was my first big move and he made sure all my questions were answered and went above and beyond in finding an apartment that would fit my needs!
I didn’t know what to expect before dealing with green street realty, but Riley was super helpful throughout the process and made it smoother than I was expecting. Very nice and professional.
Talking to the receptionist, Erin Little was incredibly helpful! She was great! Taylur Edrington does an incredible job showing the apartments! So helpful!
Nice place to live been in my apartment for 15 years
I met with Taylur about possibly moving into these apartments. The apartments were lovely, but her personality, and ability to connect with people really sold me. Taylur was kind, caring, and really knew what she was talking about.
Big thanks to Riley for spending so much time helping me find the perfect space.
