Amazing gym! Great equipment! Super nice staff! Prices are super low so I have no issues being able to afford it. My only complaint is I live in Marion and the gym is on the SW side but it’s definitely worth the drive! All the members are so nice and helpful as well! They have everything classes, tkd, tanning, pool, sauna, steam room, a lot of different cardio equipment, lots of weight machines and free weights. I love how there are so many rooms so I never feel awkward while working out. I never have to wait to use anything no matter how busy. Absolutely love this gym!

Jacuzzi has been out of order so much its a wonder why they even have one... Have to wear swim shoes in pool due to concrete chipping and flaking... Otherwise its decent for the price and service

I had a membership in 2020 around March during the time I had family members that came down with Covid I called and they said that they would cancel my membership I know the policy states that you have to do it in writing there was no way that I was coming in there! Wanted to go back they told me I had to pay my previous balance which was $200 because it was never canceled I did just leave a message Im waiting to hear back.. Ive contacted them before over this issue I hope that this can be resolved.I did call it was covid no one was going outside their house and was never told they would forgive the whole amount never was contacted!

I’ve lost up to 80 lbs with this gym. The reason I come back is because of the manager David. He is a good man, selfless, kind, fair and respectful. Anyone can go and feel at home there. I love the steam room, tanning, pool, massage table and sauna in addition to the exercise equipment. Very affordable!

Great value, tons of equipment, always allows you to bring a guest for free, rooms are very segmented instead of being a single giant room so if you are uncomfortable working out around a ton of people there is a good chance you can get some privacy stillOnly downside from me is it seems maintenance on the cardio equipment falls behind at times

I highly recommend Custom Fitness to anyone looking for a gym membership without breaking the bank! I love that they give you different membership options and a variety of ways to commit unlike other gyms I’ve been to. They have a trial period too for you to come in, check the place out, and get a few workouts in before committing to see if it’s a good fit. They have every piece of equipment you could need to fulfill your workout and always seem to be bringing in new equipment as well. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to!

Custom Fitness is a good gym if you want basic equipment at a fair price. Not impressed with this gym at all though. Staff is not friendly and can seem ignorant. Told the manager to keep an eye out for someone, instead of taking action/keeping it to himself... he tells that person about me saying I witnessed something. Not professional at all, do not feel welcomed.Look at the reply from the owner, they cancelled my membership because of this review. When I asked why my memebership was terminated they couldn’t give me a single reason! Don’t listen to their lies. Never was I a horrible member. I simply told him to keep an eye out for someone. This place and manager are a joke.

I’ve had memberships at many gyms over my life and I was here 8 years ago when it was called New Life Fitness but out of all the places, this is the best! It’s pretty old school which I love, it’s 24/7, you have a pool, sauna, and steam room, free weights and many machines, plus if you’re a big lifter, they have exactly what you need downstairs! Oh and it’s one of the cheapest memberships around with the same price as Planet Fitness but so much better and more worth that price! Come check it out, they even have a trial if you aren’t for sure about a membership just yet! 😊

I absolutely love Custom Fitness. I can go in 24 hours a day and work on my fitness needs, whatever they may be at the time. I go before work so I need someplace I can access at 4am.....My only issue is that I wish they would open more locations so I didnt have to drive across town. It is well worth the drive though

Best gym in Cedar Rapids. Ive been a member for 35 years. Very friendly staff. Awesome equipment. The owner and general manager are always adding equipment other gyms dont have. The hydromassage bed is AMAZING. Highly recommend this gym. Having it 24 hour, is so very convenient for me and my family.

I signed up in January because I lived near by and it was convenient for me. At first everything was fine but then everything changed when they put flyers out saying if you sign up the most people with you as a reference by the end of January you’d get a free trip to Cancun. I was happy to refer my friends and family and they I had 5 sign up. They called me and said I had referred the most people and won. When I asked them a week later about the details they said the vouchers for the trip package hadn’t come because they mixed up the dates so they just weren’t on time basically just told me BS to keep me waiting. I waited until March didn’t hear anything It was clear I had been scammed and lied to so I told them I wanted to cancel my membership they told me to write a letter to cancel it I did in April and they didn’t stop charging me until August. Overall very untrustworthy place that will take advantage of you and take your money. My boyfriend was one of the people I got to sign up and he had to write 2 letters and they still didn’t cancel his account he had to call his bank and change is account and routing number. I don’t recommend this place to anyone and regret ever encouraging anyone to sign up.

What an amazing place to be for someone who has kids and no baby sitter. We are very fortunate to be able to have a day care here as we can wonder off and get a quality level of work out that I desire for a surprising monthly membership fee. Less than $25 per month and can have 1 guest who can be there while you are there for free. I highly recommend Custom Fitness for everyone 😉

I like coming here a lot. The package prices are phenomenal, totally unbeatable. Many rooms with machines and I never feel over crowded.My only complaint is I NEVER see other people clean the machines. Its really gross. Would like if management hung up a few signs reminding people. Pandemic or not, I dont want to sit in someone elses sweat. 🤢

They gave a good vip membership. Plenty of work out equipment. They have a pool, sauna, and steam room. They also have tanning booths. Its never been so busy you cant work out.

Friendly staff, members are respectful toward one another. Nice amount of space, love how they are always bringing in new equipment! You won’t find a place like this in town with the variety of equipment for a low price! No hidden fees or biweekly payments like other gyms sneak in.

Awesome gym!!! Very Clean, great staff and management, and open 24 hours! Looks small from the outside, but has a main floor, upstairs and downstairs, with roughly a total of 25 rooms, really big! And all for a really great price!

I left an honest review yesterday and today my membership was terminated. No refund or reasoning why. What happened to freedom of speech? Fake accounts and their employees will leave 5 star reviews. While they try to slander or make an excuse for every 1 star review. Look at how they reply to one star reviews, that’s how they will deal with any type of problem you have. The manager is insecure and does whatever he wants. Don’t waste your time here. This place will go out of business soon for the way they run it.

Custom Fitness is the perfect gym whether you are new and a little uncomfortable or experienced in working out. Ive been to several gyms in my area and so far Custom take she gold metal in customer service, cleanliness and all over fitness satisfaction! Highly recommend!

Great gym to workout at, I currently don’t have a membership because I’m waiting on my other gym membership to expire. Workout with a friend and he gets a free guest every time and I’m taking advantage of that. They have a ton of different machines and just about every amenity you could ask for.

Been here since May and I absolutely love the staff, the layout, the equipment (which keeps improving and items being added). I use to workout out at another big gym for YEARS and was getting frustrated with staff/ownership and since going to Custom, I truly appreciate their friendly and hard working staff!

Besides offering a great value and keeping the facilities very clean, the management does a great job of removing the negative, rude, an inconsiderate people so the place stays as pleasant as can be! Once my bf and I got the tour, we were hooked. Worked out for the first time there today. This is the best gym I have ever been to. None of these reviews do it any justice. It literally has everything for the price of $20. There is a water massage table, dry sauna, pool, hot tub, steam room/wet sauna, countless rooms filled with all different kinds of workout equipment. There is so much variety in all the equipment. I was there for nearly 2 hours and only used 3 rooms (not including sauna). It’s huge in there and the 2 front desk ladies that I’ve talked to are super nice. All in all, great experience, 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a gym. It’s 100% worth the 15 minute drive to get there!

Horrible!!!! Don’t ever come here if you don’t want drama! That’s all the management and employees are. They stir the pot and make up lies and 100% don’t believe in customer satisfaction. This place is terrible. The equipment is old and rusty. The tanning beds are nasty. Every employee that I encounter is unfriendly. Ive also heard some of the most inappropriate conversations being had by employees. Management is terrible and makes really poor decisions. Worst gym I have ever been to by far. Definitely skip this place unless you want to encounter unprofessional employees leave with rust stains on your clothes.

November 2020 Update:My membership was terminated as retribution for the below review (management did not deny this). Quite an interesting turn of events... luckily it allowed me to now go to a different gym run by actual professionals, working equipment, and safer conditions. Look closely at the newer, positive reviews here as well - most reviewers have only the 1 review and appear to likely be fake. Go to Custom Fitness at your own risk...----------------------Managements reply to my initial review is interesting, considering enrollment fees did not apply to me but did apply to my girlfriend under the exact same circumstances - Is this considered being applied fairly? Customer service here, other than two of the front-desk staff, is awful.Outside of these issues, if you love old, rusty equipment, with many gym members who are highly inconsiderate and dont take weights off the machines (among other things), this is the place for you.

WORST RAN GYM. I came as a guest for about a month on my boyfriends membership. Management is extremely unprofessional and immature. The staff is very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Any criticism towards the gym and your membership is terminated regardless if it’s just the managers personal insecurities. Just look at the reviews and the “owners” responses and you’ll see what type of business they run.

There’s a really cool girl who works there named Brooklyn who made my custom fitness experience 5 stars. They are also better then planet fitness because they have the same prices but offer more!!

I went to this gym for a couple months. About a year later they tried to bill me for the entire year! I called and spoke several times with people claiming to be the manager...THIS IS WHERE it gets UNBELIEVABLE!Not only did they not cancel the bill but they said I could not cancel my membership until bill was paid. Keep in mind I did not commit to anything longer than the month at a time membership.. I ended up contacting the better business.. Now I have a bill collector calling me.. It is also worth noting that steroid use is obvious within this gym.I usually don’t take the time for this kind of stuff but if I can save someone this trouble.

Fantastic place for a workout. Lots of different options for workout style. Plenty of equipment and cardio to be used. A pool, hottub, wet and dry sauna, as well as a message bed. Group class and martial arts training. Nice staff who will always make time to help. Best place in Cedar Rapids that dont cost an arm and a leg.

Hands down best gym in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding area.

Tons of options including many machines, free weights and weight machines, racquetball, clean locker rooms, childcare and more. Staff of young kids is pretty annoying since they dont do anything and cant answer questions. Sometimes they leave broken machines for months before fixing them, but theres plenty so its fine usually. Its a good value and usually not crowded since its huge and people are spread out.

It is a really great gym! They have a lot of things to choose from. My only complaint is that I left my swimsuit and called not even a hr after I left and Nicole, staff member, said she would get it and put it in the lost and found, which she did not. So when I went back to get my swimsuit it was gone. If Nicole would of did what she said she was going to do my swimsuit would have not have been stolen. It was brand new only worn twice. I was very frustrated with this. Other than that incident it is a wonderful place. My husband absolutely loves it!

Great value for the amenities you get with a standard membership, cancelling is a little ridiculous with them making you mail the form to the address you just filled the paperwork out at.

This company has horrible owners. We signed a training agreement not a monthly year long commitment to the gym as they had told us. After the training sessions they tried to renew and keep taking money for classes and sessions not rendered. When we told them after our training sessions which were bs. A kid fresh in college basically had you walk around and do a few machines was on his phone and not into how to perfect technique so I canceled. Now they are pursuing collections for classes we didn’t take and a membership I didn’t agree to. Other gym I joined has been way better more equipment more room and trainers that are actually licensed to do so.

Got notice back with signature but they kept billing, had to call explained they were still billing and they said they would refund two amounts. When only one month refunded called and bre said it takes30 days and no more refunds. Buyer beware! Should not recommend this place to anyone !

Yes, they make you send in their cancelation form certified mail. Even though you are standing right there, trying to cancel. When asked the reason, I was told in the past they would receive a cancelation letter and it would not get done in a timely fashion therefore causing an issue with the customer when they charge another month because it can past the 30 days. So we need to pay extra to send certified mail, to show a proof of date received because of their poor management that cannot have their employees do their job... also when asked if theres a cancelation fee, I got an, umm, I dont think so...
