Hurts not hertz...Worst rental experience ever. Why do I have to give them one star?A local website that advertises rental cars in Casper suspended this locations account! They do not have a good reputation. Why does this crooked company branch have a contract at the airport when theyre are many more people willing to conduct business in a fair and professional manner? We were quoted and made the reservation for seventy dollars a day, only needed it for a handful of hours. Crummy little Corolla that smelled funny. When we returned it the manager refused to give us our corporate gold member discount (which the car was reserved under) and it cost us over $180!We only had the car five hours.Manager Brad was rude and condescending while performing his bait and switch. How does someone with such poor communication skills become manager?I guess if a company is desperate for employees they hire who ever is available and if customers are desperate for a rental they have to either walk or put up with abuse.Clearly the five star reviews are mostly employees of hertz attempting to balance out the poor rating.Never again!Hertz corporate said they cant look in to it because this location is an independent licensee. They have me a number to contact this location but its the same number as Brads business card. Hertz Casper airport obviously feels they are untouchable by how frequently they blatantly rip their customers off and never pay consequences. What authority investigates this type of crime?
Taxi cabs are cheaper! This location is crooked, think its just me posting about this?READ THE REVIEWS!!The manager (BRAD) is the rudest person I have met in a long while. He didnt honor the price I reserved the car for, actually he tripled it!I wish it was a fluke but look at the other reviews, this is common practice at this location.Stay far away from Hertz, Casper Airport if you want a good experience renting a car.
BUYER BEWARE!!Brad is a disgrace to customer service and the practices here are borderline criminal!I walked away feeling dirty and disgusted, like what just happened? When I saw all the other one star reviews I was appalled how nearly everyone here is mistreated. Quoted one price, maybe given a car even though one was clearly reserved, and then upon return, charged ludicrous amounts over the reservation rate.Shame on hertz for allowing a branch to abuse their loyal customers like this.Shame on the Casper airport for allowing one of their retailers to be so shady.Ten times cheaper and better experience hiring a taxi!
I called to set up arrangements to pick up my rental from an insurance claim. My insurance company had already arranged everything and it was set to go. The gentleman told me I wasnt on the list before he even asked me for my name or confirmation number!!! He told me he had no rentals available for over a week. He didnt even ask me for my confirmation number or any details about my reservation. I got the impression he was annoyed that I called and had no desire to work with me. My insurance company switched to Enterprise for a more streamlined hassle-free rental.
I arrived on March 18th to receive my rental pickup. The employee was not at the counter and another rental agency had to call her to find out she was out picking up a vehicle. The rental agent, Heather, finally returned after about 25 minutes and with no apology or even welcome gets my name and informs me that the vehicle I am renting has a small crack in the windshield. I tell her that wont work - I had called the day before and confirmed they had a vehicle ON THE LOT to rent and explained that I was using the vehicle to travel to Denver for my dads emergency surgery and had to be there on the 18th. Despite the vehicle being confirmed the day before, she tells me the vehicle returned that morning has a cracked windshield and thats all they can offer me. She was incredibly rude and confrontational about me being thirty minutes late to my rental appointment and says she doesnt have time to call all the customers when all I asked was if the car came in during the morning, how I wasnt notified to make different arrangements. I went to inspect the crack, which was in the middle of the windshield, stretching halfway up. There was no safe way to drive this, especially in the high winds around here. At this point, she tells me if I feel it is unsafe, I have no car to take. All other cars are reserved. I spoke to the manager, Brad, on the phone, who was very dismissive and tells me there is nothing he can do. My husband went in to have a discussion and received similar treatment, and spoke to the manager again. After explaining again that this is a life-saving operation that we have to travel for and did not have a vehicle to do this kind of trip in (we were renting a SUV after the huge snowstorm), he told my husband dont you have a friend you can borrow something from? We have never been treated so poorly. The Casper, WY Natrona County Airport location does not keep accurate stock of vehicles, switched their story about how we ended up with the vehicle with the cracked windshield several times, suggested we drive an unsafe vehicle because they didnt want to leave us without something, treated us with horrendous disrespect, and didnt even offer an apology or attempt at making this right. If faced with the opportunity, Id take Brads advice and hope your friend has something you can borrow. Its more likely to pan out.
I will never use Hertz again after my experience with rude employees who make you feel like they are doing you a favor. I tried locally owned, wont bother again even though AAA gives a discount!
Upon checking in to get a car to travel to a new job in another state, Brad William the hertz employee said he will not and don’t have to give me a car and that reservations are meaningless and was very rode. In all my years renting from hertz and have never been meet or treaded so badly. This reservation was made a week prier and was set up for work to support my family and with a devilish laugh said to bad for you we don’t have to give you a retail car even if you have a reservation. This employee was the worst I have ever encountered in my life. I am very upset and will be posting a more detail review on social media and other news outlets to get my story out.
Staff are great. Been using them for rentals to Denver for medical appointments and they have always treated us professionally and courteously. Always have a great selection of cars to rent. Will continue to rent from them. Now a loyal customer of the Casper Hertz!
If I could give negative stars, I would. I spent 3 days negotiating a price and gathering information about renting a car for a 24 hour period, just to be turned away at the counter within 30 seconds. This location has THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED, ANYWHERE. The gentleman behind the counter physically tossed my ID and card back at me from behind his Plexiglas screen and then proceeded to tell me in the RUDEST possible way that there was Nothing that I can do for you, after just speaking with him for approximately 15 minutes on finalizing details the day before. I will never recommend this particular location to anyone, ever. Hertz, as a company, in and of itself should reevaluate who they choose to hire. I highly advise anyone thinking about renting a car from them to just not do it.
Car was way overpriced, Service was even worse. Had to wait 30 minutes for someone to even get to the counter to return the the truck
We recently had a one-way rental from this location and it couldnt have been better. We made a special question at the time of the reservation and the request was granted graciously and willingly. The staff at the counter was pleasant and efficient. The car was what we requested and in perfect order. They couldnt have done more. Thanks
I’m not one to write reviews, I frankly do not have the time. But after reading a few of these I had to put my two cents in. The city manager there in Casper is simply the best! He is the sole reason our company switched rental car agencies. We were using another rental car company at the Casper airport, but time and again they did not have vehicles for us, even though we had a reservation and a nation wide contract. After we were stuck at the airport for the third and final time because once again they were out of cars, we took the airport shuttle into town. We were promised a car the next day. The next day came, and again no cars available. So with that promise and reservation broken we finally called Hertz. The city manager not only gave us a free upgrade to a brand new SUV, he personally delivered it to our Hotel and saved us from being late to our meeting which was in a town almost two hours away. After that experience our company uses Hertz exclusively! Well done Hertz!
RENTERS BEWARE!!!!! Would give these guys a no star rating if it was allowed. Got in late on a delayed flight to Casper from Denver. Hadnt slept in 30 hours and was super tired. Had made a reservation for an intermediate SUV which should have been a Jeep Cherokee or comparable. When talking to the lady at the desk she said they had a Toyota 4 Runner and acted like it was in the same class as the Jeep. Drove 12 miles from the airport to the hotel. Didnt look at the bill or fuel level until the next morning and discovered that it was an upgrade charge of $20/day and the fuel was less than half a tank. Got into the vehicle that morning and discovered the mileage was 1400 miles higher than on the contract. Went back to the Hertz location and talked to the manager and explained what was going on. Had put less than 35 miles on the rental and had it for 19 hours total at this point. He refused to let me keep the vehicle for the same price as my reservation and didnt want to work with me at all on rectifying the situation. Kept trying to stick me in a Rav 4 and telling me that it was in the same class as the Jeep which of course he no longer had available. Walked out with a bill for $165.94 for 19 hours. Then the manager had the audacity to email me an audited bill for $389.54 based off the wrong mileage and fuel charge when they clearly hadnt checked the vehicle since the last time it was rented before I got it. If they arent checking fuel and mileage what else arent they checking??? Called Hertz customer care and they claimed they couldnt do anything because it was a privately owned Hertz location. Emailing in a complaint to their customer complaint department is all you can really do. I wont ever rent from Hertz again. These guys are a bunch of crooks. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and disputing all charges with my credit card company.
Long story short..do NOT rent a car here.We called Hertz Casper to change the drop off location when our flight was cancelled. Nobody answered, so we made the change through the main Hertz office. A WEEK later we received a missed call from a Casper number but no voicemail. When we called the number, the Hertz manager Brad said he had called us multiple times—even though they had not and I told him that was untrue. I then asked why he did not leave a voicemail when he called earlier. Obviously he had forgotten his first lie and responded We dont leave a voicemail when we call a customer for the first time.I knew I would get nowhere since he was lying and acting very aggressive. I asked for his name so I could call the main Hertz office and address the issue with them. He hung up on me. When I called back he said he would make a police report for auto theft if I reported his behavior to the main Hertz. The absolute worst customer experience I’ve had.
Ive rented here a number of times and unfortunately each time they seem pretty secretive about rates and any possible discounts for regular customer except Gold points. I rent with Enterprise about the same amount, they are always trying to get me to come back and offering any possible deals in hopes of repeat business. Hertz seems to care more about the quick buck... :(Might need to switch back to Enterprise.
This location is dishonest and takes advantage of elderly people. They quoted my elderly mother $67 SUV rental and charged her $350. They said she signed some small print that indicated SUVs are $350/day. I have never been charged that high of a rental for a mid sized SUV or even a luxury through other companies. This company should be ashamed and shut down.
Best car rental experience I ever had. I usually go with enterprise, but when I showed up to the airport they didnt have a car for me, even though I had a reservation. Hertz saved our trip and gave us a free upgrade! Ill be using Hertz every chance I get now, thanks to the great experience I had with them in Casper WY.
Rented car here with no problems, had a flat tire in denver, Changed it myself, no big deal. Then tried to contact customer service for a new spare and was told to just drive until i have another flat and then they will send a tire. Wasnt happy but made the trip without further issues.
Horrible customer service. We were told that in order to have a car ready for us when we arrived at the airport we had to make reserve a car so we did. When we arrived no one was at the desk called the number that was left on the counter multiple times with no answer.. ended up having to call a cab to take us to the hotel. Called Hertz the next morning to get our rental in hopes that we could have it brought to the hotel... no luck on that!. Ended up having to get another cab to take us back to hertz. So now we are already $80 out of pocket because of there incompetence and ability to answer a phone. I will not recommend this location to anyone, there are plenty of other rental companies with much better service.
The Hertz in Casper WY is the MOST incompetent rental car company I have EVER I countered in my entire life!!!!!!!!!! If you are ever in a wreck PLEASE DO NOT go here they will screw you for over $4,000 for a rental car that was supposed to be set up with the insurance company!!!!!!!!!!!
They came in on new years day just to help me get a car! Fantastic service!
Horrible! Called to make this reservation, as we had specific needs. We needed the vehicle dropped off at the FBO and provided the planes tail number. It was NOT there upon landing. I requested a large SUV because 2 of my passengers were 6 ft+, and was given an EcoSport! I provided my credit card information ahead of time, as this was a reservation for my boss, but they charged him instead of the card on file. When I called to voice my concerns I was told by the manager, Brad that They only waited a few minutes. This was his actual response AS THE MANAGER?!?!? Terrible customer service! I do not recommend this location nor will I ever be using it again!!
Rented one way.Counter agent said full sized car was unlimited mileage, mysteriously found an SUV at the same price but added .30/mile DIDNT POINT IT OUT. No initials lied.Ching Ching commission for counter agent. And I got charged an additional $200.The car was filthy and she was in a big hurry to get me out of there.BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION AND ALL COUNTER AGENTS.
This hertz will lie about your rate and offer no assistance when you complain.liars and cheats, city manager is worthless.go anywhere else.................really !
Pleasant Staffing easy to deal with
So, the other people on here must not be seasoned renters. I am a Gold Member and have rented all over the country. I had a fantastic experience, but I know what to expect. Heather was very friendly and helpful and the manager was a nice guy also. I have learned a couple of things in the process. First, look over your contract. Look for one way fees. That happens most times when you take the car one way to another location and don’t return it. They will charge you the price it costs for a transport truck to go and return it to the right location. Check your rate and check that you didn’t sign up for a mileage versus a daily charge. I did this once in North Dakota. I booked it wrong online and then I didn’t check my contract before taking the car. After taking the car there wasn’t anything they could do to amend my contract. After all, it is a contract, just like any contract. You are signing and initialing. It was my own fault for not taking the time to know what I was signing. Second, always get the insurance. You are taking someone else’s property and signing and initialing that you will be responsible for their property. This insurance has saved my at least once. I got a ding in the car and I just returned it and told them where it had been dented by someone else’s door. It is peace of mind and I don’t have to worry. Some people on reviews get really nasty when they didn’t get the insurance, but then are held responsible when they do something to the car. Third, never go with Enterprise. I used to go with Enterprise, but a few years ago I flew into an airport during a really busy time. I went to pick up my car and they had run out of cars even though I had a reservation. I later asked why and I was told that Enterprise doesn’t turn off their online booking when they run out of cars because most Enterprise locations don’t control the online booking for their locations. So, there is a chance that with Enterprise you could show up and not have a car. I would rather not worry about that, since I am a regular renter. I need to know I will have a car when I get there. Overall, a good experience, but I am a seasoned renter who has learned along the way. Take my advice and your rental experience will be a good one too.
Seat belt mechanism froze not extending or retracting. They would not replace the car until the next day, possibly. Regardless they would charge me for the repair. Stated anything that happens to the car is my responsibility. Including a failed seat belt mechanism. The clerk spoke to the owner who would not talk to me, but said that customers pay for all repairs according to Hertz rules. Wow ! Im a gold member for more than 25 years. This is the worst Ive experienced.
They robbed me of my prepaid deposit for not having a valid credit card. Dont go through these guys
They were great
Rude, unprofessional & uncooperative! Senior citizens beware. All of the contract information is not disclosed over the phone.
Id rather use a taxi. Brad the manager is a worthless liar
Beware! I rented a car and nobody showed up at the counter. At all. They closed early with no notice leaving me stranded at the airport.
