Absolutely the best tailor in the area. I needed my new work shorts tailored less than 24 hours before my first shift at work because I accidentally got a size too big for my waist. I called Michael to see if he could help me on such a short notice and he was extremely polite over the phone and told me to come in. For those of you who anything about alterations; I needed 4 inches off of my shorts(a massive altercation.) Michael had my shorts ready for me within 2 hours and the job was flawless. When I went to pick up my shorts I was short the cash to pay for the work he did. Michael told me not to worry about it and wished me good luck on the new job. I gave him my word I will be back next week to pay him and he repeatedly told me it was not that big of an issue. Though I will 100% drop off the money owed next week, I had to leave a review to share my experience with him. This isn’t just any local tailor in the area. It’s a place where you feel appreciated and someone who truly enjoys what he does and you can tell that from the very beginning. I will never go anywhere else for as long as I live in this town. I highly recommend Michael!! He is an expert tailor who is passionate about what he does and actually cares about making sure you are happy with your alteration. I had a few things that needed alteration including a top that had a difficult cut and design. I was hesitant to have this top altered because in the wrong hands, it would have been completely ruined, but Michaels confidence in knowing that he could do the alteration with success gave me great comfort. It did take two tries, but I was very happy with how the top turned out. He also makes custom shirts and the detailing and craftsmanship is impeccable. My husband plans to have a few shirts made by Michael. Because he takes the time to listen and works with you to fully understand what needs to be done to your clothing, I will bring my clothes for alterations only to Michael in the future. Working with Michael Iji was a wonderful experience. He is a master at his craft, very efficient, and his attention to detail is remarkable. He is also a grace-filled person. I took a suit and some dress pants to him for alteration. The suit jacket was especially complex; it has a bold pattern and lots of hidden interior pockets, and it needed extensive alteration to the shoulders and sleeves. After one week he had completed the work and it looks like the suit was cut to my measurements from the beginning. Michael consulted with me about my fashion preferences to make sure the garments are finished to suit my individual style. He also makes custom garments, in addition to his own line (his dress shirts are stunning), and custom masks to match your wardrobe. Since we moved to NC, I have never let anyone touch any of my suits besides Iji. Hes knowledgeable, fast, clean, precise and professional. Every suit Ive ever needed tailor work done on have only been entrusted to his hands. He even has his own custom, fitted shirt line hes developed. He even makes his own clothing line, buys his own materials, and creates his own designs. There are few people a man should trust more than his tailor, and I trust Iji. Iji is the man.

I recently went on a successful diet, which was great for my health, but it left me with a closet full of trousers that were now too baggy. I was afraid that I would have to buy all new ones, but decided to try having them tailored. It turns out to be the best decision I could have made. Mr. Iji kept me only a few minutes for a fitting, and I dropped off five saggy pairs of dress pants with him. Just a few days later, and for less than the cost of a single new pair of pants, I had five pair that fit my new shape just perfectly. Ill be bringing the rest of the wardrobe to him shortly!

I found Michael about 2 years ago from a Google search and I am yet to go back to my old tailor! I have never brought in an alteration that he could not do! As a matter of fact, he has been able to make alterations that numerous tailors in the past have told me couldnt be done! After a lifelong run of fast, cheap - and ultimately unsatisfying - alterations in the mall, I finally decided to go to a Big Boy tailor. No offense to the mall folks: They serve a different audience (Proms in 3 hours and OMG, my dress doesnt fit!!). If mall tailors were cotton candy, then Michael Iji would be 5-course meal in a French restaurant, complete with kir cocktails, black & white mosaic tile floor, and a torch singer to boot. Stepping across the threshold of the nondescript storefront into the the ambience a personalized work space, I knew immediately I had found THE ONE. Michaels space became MY space as he took the time to listen to my preferences and questions, educate me about things no one ever told me (!), and transform not just the jacket I had brought in but the literal way I carry myself while wearing it. Michael is now working on my second jacket, and I even decided to treat myself to an original custom shirt and bow tie. You will not find a better tailor. That is all.
