Cary and his team removed the popcorn ceilings throughout my home. The end result was phenomenal! It looks like a brand new home. I couldn’t be happier! One thing I appreciated about Cary in particular was how he was willing to lock in a price. The other places I contacted wouldn’t do that.In terms of the quality of work, it was flawless with the exception of a missed nail pop in the master closet, but considering they did the whole house I’m surprised that was the only thing I found. They were pretty good about cleaning up too. There was drywall dust everywhere, but that’s essentially unavoidable from my experience. All of the popcorn chunks were gone which was the major thing. Thanks Cary!
They painted the exterior of my home about four or five years ago. Even after one year I found peeling paint about ground floor windows. That 2 year warranty CPR claims to give you? Forget about it. They dont follow up at all. Im not at all impressed. I had to sand them all down, prime and paint over again. The workers were fine guys, by and large. The carpenter was inadequate. Failed to nail fiber cement siding they put on so I did it myself when I saw it falling off. Failed to replace rotten trim boards properly - cut some rot off but later the rest rotted. Too, he replaced a fascia board, found he cut it too short, so he did a really poor scarf joint to add another piece instead of doing it right. They used bondo to fix another scarf joint. That all peeled away last summer so I had to sand it all down, prime and paint. You can do better by hiring a different paint crew. Seriously.
Churchill Painting recently completed a large job for my family. They did a full roof replacement and repaired water/ceiling damage to the interior. Cary did a great job of keeping my up to date over the course of the project, sending photos when I was not there and explaining what was happening as the project progressed. I found that to be very valuable, and something you dont usually get with most contractors. All the work was done on time and high quality, the new roof looks great!
It is not an easy task to try to articulate the stress and pain that a customer experiences when trying to get a contractor to complete work under the timeline originally agreed upon but I feel inclined to at least warn others and share my experience with this one over the last couple of weeks. To caveat this review, I am an Army Veteran with over 20 years experience in managing contracts around the globe, to include 5 tours to Iraq and 4 to Afghanistan. Mr. Rizzieris behavior and difficulty in satisfying the terms of this contract was without question, the most immature and difficult Ive ever had to deal with. Without a doubt, he will rebut this review and point the finger elsewhere so I will abstain from being overly critical and simply present the facts and timeline to let you form your own opinion.I will not belabor the point, however, would like to let you know if you do business with this company please be prepared to deal with an unfortunately immature owner who plays games if things do not go his way. We were extremely patient and understanding the first couple of days as he delayed our project but we quickly learned that Mr. Rizzieri could not be trusted at his word. All in all, the project took roughly 8 days, which should have only taken 3 days by the original estimate. Ultimately, the work was only completed because Mr. Rizzieri knew I was leaving town and he would not receive final payment until after I returned if the work was not completed before I left. He was extremely pushy, rude, used profanity and threats and quite frankly, irresponsible in the management of his business. I trusted CPR falsely assuming that a bonded and insured business would be trustworthy and professional enough to complete the job. Mr. Rizzieri knew we had a timeline to vacate the home, however, played games and delayed our work out of spite for not receiving more work in our new home. His actions were extremely immature and created a ripple of delays causing the landlord to put off accepting new tenants. The work was completed with multiple areas of the carpet, hardwood floors, cabinets, and doorknobs having paint splatters. When I contacted him regarding removing it, he insisted that I do it with soap and water and that the professional rug cleaner in there was not trying hard enough.I wish I had something positive to say about hiring this company and working with Mr. Rizzieri, however, this has proven to be one of the most frustrating experiences Ive ever had with dealing with a contractor. If you hire him, make sure you get everything in writing and dont make him angry, otherwise, he will play games and try to make your life difficult. He lacks professional courtesy and is only motivated to get paid with no long-term consideration for future business. Review the terms of your contract and make sure you hold him to them, otherwise, he will try to entice you to take on more work and press you for exceptions outside of the originally agreed upon scope of work.We also had Mr. Rizzieri provide a quote for our new home that we did not sign a contract for. When he realized we were not going to use him for the job, he became extremely difficult and played games to delay our completion. I would happily provide a copy of the text message transcript if anyone would like to see the exact timeline and details (the character restrictions on here limit how much I can post). In closing, I would be remised if I didnt mention his last act of indecency and incompetence when 3 days after finally completing the work he was hired to do, Mr. Rizzieri sends me a text message trying to charge me for canceling the new home job. He was unaware that we never signed the contract but still tried to get me to pay a 25% cancelation fee. When I asked him to provide me with a signed contract, he became frustrated insulting me one last time and threatening me to pay the cancelation fee despite never having signed a contract.
After talking with several painting companies, it was an easy decision to work with Cary and his crew. Churchill was thent the lowest cost but, his direct approach during the review of the job made me feel comfortable working with him and his team. Loved the results! Thanks guys!
I had to call Churchill to repair dry wall in our bedroom after my wife managed put a nice and oversized hole thru it. Cary was responsive to communication, came out in a reasonable amount of time and gave a decent estimate, after getting other quotes we went with Cary & Churchill and I couldn’t have been happier with that choice, we can no longer tell where she put the hole. Would recommend for drywall repair.
This is my second house with CPR. Both times exterior. I’m so pleased with Cary and his team that I’m now going for the interior.Don’t hesitate. He’s good. 👍🏼
Cary was extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of home improvement. My project was exterior painting with a lot of carpentry work to restore older home. His crew worked extremely hard, was extremely professional and nice and did an excellent job for us. He used high quality materials and all the work was done thoroughly and to a high standard. As new discoveries came up, Cary was reasonable in pricing and adjusting the plan. Overall great experience and highly recommend.
Work was done and looked good for a month until paint started peeling off. Tried to get them to come out that year. Then the next year. 2 years after they sent a Sherwin Williams rep to take paint samples. They first took paint sample from our neighbors house. Then took it from our house. They said the old wood was peeling off with the paint. I would believe this more if it didnt take 2 years to get someone out here. And they dont update that they didnt have an office anymore.i went to the address give on Their website and Google maps but it is closed. Terribly unprofessional. Do a background check first.
Great work staining the deck! Looks great.
Cary, Ray and crew did a very high quality painting job! They repaired surfaces that needed it and paid attention to detail. I would hire them again.
This is a really great group of guys! I am a new homeowner and felt overwhelmed with the amount of work that my exterior needed, but Cary and his team, especially Dave, have really made me feel like I can relax and know that things are taken care of, THE RIGHT WAY! Despite weather and other set backs, they really put forth effort to stay on schedule and get the work done. These things take time, especially if you want them done right, but theyve been able to get everything done in 1 week! Amazing. With the weather weve had recently, I dont feel like another company would have gotten everything done. But they worked Saturday and Sunday to make sure it was. They are also very responsible with price and so nice! They walked around my house each day and made sure things were put away and trash picked up. I will recommend Churchill to all my friends and definitely use them again in the future.Thank you Cary! 😁
Churchill Painting and Renovations is a great team of contractors who handle my exterior house painting, power wash of both house and fence. They were professional, polite, courteous and faithful to our contract. They completed the contract. Work was amazingly excellent. I will be hiring them again for interior painting next. Very pleased.
Cary has a professional crew....they are master painters. We had them come in and re-do (in a different color) the paint job done by previous so-called professional painters. They went above and beyond, scraping previous paint that was run over onto bathroom tile, making sure every seam was neat and clean. They also fixed minor issues (e.g. nail pops) without changing price quoted. The crew were communicative as well, giving updates along the way.I will always use Cary and Churchill Painting.
Cary and his team totally blew us away. I was in a bit of a bind- we just closed on our first home, have a baby coming in a few weeks, my husband was on a business trip, and the moving company was coming at the end of the week. Cary was the only painter to consistently follow up with me at a time when I was incredibly overwhelmed. So, down to the work... a 6-man team showed up promptly on the day they were set to start. Before I could even blink, the trim was taped and floors were covered. So efficient! In addition to painting 5 rooms upstairs, the team did all of the first floor of our house AND kitchen cabinets. Very pleased with every bit of this project, from communication, labor, price, and everything in between. Cary is a true professional with heart- very grateful for everything he and his team did for us and our very first family home!
I called Churchill after purchasing my very first house. I was clueless when it came to house paint work, but they made it very easy for me to understand, and were done with the job quickly. They were on time and did it all for a very competitive price to boot.
Terrible experience, Owner was incredibly rude and it took forever to get the job done. Had to have his crew come out several times to complete the job, and once the job was complete we discovered damage to our brand new roof that was caused by the crew. Owner said he would pay for the repairs but never followed through and has been incredibly rude during every step of the process. Actual crews sent to our home were nice but it was a different crew every time. Save yourself the frustration and $$$ and go with any other company.
Please DO NOT HIRE this company under any circumstances. I cannot express enough my frustration and disgust with the owner, Cary Rizzieri. He is extremely unprofessional, very aggressive and does not honor his contracts. We hired Churchill Painting for interior painting of our home and he estimated 3.5-4 days. It ended up being 5 days and his project manager insisted on us paying $1000 more than the contract stated. He said that the extra money was because we asked about painting a small ceiling but we were never told the price beforehand or that it had even been done. He would not leave until we paid the extra and became more and more agitated. At that point, we felt we had to pay him in order to get him to leave. It turns out that the ceiling we asked about painting had never even been painted so that extra $1000 was for nothing. The main reason I wanted the house painted was to fix the numerous nail pops all over the house. In the contract, it said they would all be fixed before being painted. After the crew left the final day, it became clear that there were MANY nail pops that weren’t fixed and many touch ups that still needed to be done. Also, according to the contract, the floors were supposed to be covered. They absolutely were not. There was paint splattered on the hardwood floors, tile, countertops, light switch covers, bathtubs and carpet. After 2 days of intense cleaning I was able to get most everything clean except the hardwood floors. I texted Cary to see if he could come back to clean them since they were supposed to have been covered to begin with. He said that yes, he would come back on Monday. It took 7 weeks. He said he would come 5/18 and he never showed up or let me know he wasn’t coming Finally at 4 when I texted again, he said it was his birthday. Ok?? We set up another day for 5/23. Again, he didn’t show up or let me know. So we set up another day 6/1. After several texts asking what time they would be there and getting no response, my husband called to ask what time to expect them and the response was one of the most vile things I have ever heard. Every swear word you can imagine came out of his mouth, he told my husband he could “suck his ****” and that if he didn’t feel like coming to our house, he wasn’t going to. Beyond unprofessional and absolutely crossing a line.He had already been paid so he couldn’t have cared less if the job was done correctly. He sent us pictures saying that the house looked “great”. Well, yes, from far away, the stuff looks fine. But when you get up close, there are many places that look terrible because it was rushed. He underestimated the time it would take and cut many corners to get the job done faster. The project manager, Ray is the only person we would work with at this point and he did come back to “finish” after 7 weeks. He had a “carpenter” (Who actually turned out to be a plumber) come to fix the nail pops but they ended up looking worse than before. Ray himself had to re-do all of them. I didn’t catch how bad the ceiling pops looked before they left and they will absolutely not come back to fix them. I now have to hire another company to fix the ceiling.Charging us an extra $1000 because they underestimated the work, excuse after excuse as to why he didn’t show up or let us know, damaging our garage, and yelling and swearing at my husband for asking a simple question that had been ignored for days made this job an absolute nightmare. Many other reviews have stated these exact problems, especially on the BBB website and every time he gets a negative review he calls the person mentally unstable or that they must have him confused with someone else. Neither is the case in this situation. One of the 5-Star reviews was written by himself which says a lot. After paying $9000, I was left with a house that wasn’t finished and had to hire someone else to finish. DO NOT HIRE this company!
Churchill Painting and Renovations painted the interior of our home and did an excellent job, Cary was very responsive with getting us a quote. Once the quote and price were confirmed we were able to get a confirmed schedule time, and the crew showed up at exactly the scheduled time period. All members of crew were very professional and courteous, they were also very good at addressing issues that came up as they were working. They also sanded all the nicks and cracks in the walls- they even found some that I had missed. The process was seamless. They took the time to walk around with us and make sure we were satisfied with the job before they left. I would definitely recommend them for your painting needs.
Churchill Painting helped do some work on my new home. They showed up on time and it was completed within a timely manner. Very professional work and they have a friendly staff. Highly recommend.
This owner is the most unprofessional person I have ever spoken with through all my years of home owning. I would give negative stars if possible. Please do not make a mistake by using this company.
Churchill Painting and Renovations has completed two projects for me on the home I am selling and have done an excellent job. Super easy to work with and competitively priced. I will be hiring them for a third time on the new house as well.
Cary was an outstanding project manager and partner on our project. His men were there on time, and cleaned up after every day on the job. Not only did they do great work, but they were a pleasure to work with!
Very easy to work with, shows up when they say they will, very competitive pricing, great communication, very good at what they do.
Extremely rude service! Asked for some time to think about pursuing his services and he hung up on me! 0 stars 👎
A horrible experience. The substance used on my tiles to seal them was caustic and was spilled on my front stairway carpet runner csusing irreparable damage. This guys solution was to cut the runner, bring it to a hairdresser to dye and blend and then reinstall the cut carpeting (this rug is just a year old). This was an absurd solution more likely to cause more damage than already done.He DENIED any responsibility for it and ACCUSED ME OF DAMAGING MY OWN PROPERTY to withhold final payment, RIDICULOUS. After he called and texted repeatedly and incesanty being vulgar and even threatening me, we settled on a small discount to help offset the expenses I am incurring in replacing the runner. I was just glad to be rid of him...and urge caution.
Took 3 weeks to get basic job done. Still not complete. Workers showed up late without tools and products they needed. Borrowed from us and left motorized tools in the yard. Left trash in the yard daily. Kept my phone charger indefinetly. The outside things were randomly placed and a mess for going on 3 weeks. Cut garden hose, lost house numbers, painted glass windows and missed painting total areas. Blamed as much as they could on mother nature. The biggest complaint of all PAINT AND STAIN LEFT OVER WAS DISCARDED IN FENCED IN BACK YARD!!! Not good for eco system but Absolutely not good for my pets!!!!! Would never recommend! Will never use again! They have received payment in full and yet unwilling to come out to finish or correct.
Was told they replace trim in areas that were pointed out to me but were never repaired. Had to wait over a week to get them back to fix what Cary said was done when it was not. Would not recommend or use them again. Felt I overpaid for services that were not performed as stated according to contract.
Outstanding work. Clean, quick, quality and very courteous.
Extremely inappropriate behavior, cussed and used disgusting language. All because I didnt hire him right away. How is this a running business? Horrible service.
Phenomenal!! Highly recommended!
