My WiFi been down for like 3 weeks, figured out it needed to be paid. I paid it but my WiFi didn’t come back. I explained the situation to them but they refused to reset the WiFi because I’m not the authorized user; even though it’s paid. They technically stole my money. Why would they even let me pay if I’m not so called authorized user? Why would paying be a option if they weren’t going to reset the WiFi. I’m the daughter of the authorized user and she passed away. I get that it’s protocol but this is absolutely ridiculous. They won’t do anything. So I had to order a new modem thingy. Not helpful at all.Update: I’m canceling the modem when I get a chance

Worst Internet Ive ever had.Had TDS for over a year, constant issues with their service, 6+ technicians all told us our box outside needs replaced, 2 months later no work performed. Techs still being sent and telling us the box is bad. 80$ a month for internet that doesnt stay connected for more than 30 minutes at a time, Awful company, trash service, and uncaring management. 👎Update: Had the newest TDS tech came out and say everything should be good from now on. 10 minutes after he left, internet dropped out and is worse now than before.

No ZERO star rating unfortunately....trouble from the word go....every time i talk to tech support theres a whole new story....still trying to get RELIABLE new internet service installed (currently bouncing to zero at times) into my residence but tech support is so unorganized i cannot get an appointment for them to come look at it...oh, wait, you have 2 appointments today, no wait, you dont have an active account with us....scratching my head, what a joke this company is.

I have had TDS at several houses and work, and have had issue after issue with it every single time, I have thousands of hours tied up in trying to resolve various networking issues and dont get me started on how bad customer service is, I have spend 2+ hours on hold several different times as well as being disconnected a few times. I have had internet, phone, and TV through them and would only maybe recommend the phone, it obviously works off of internet, but it doesnt require nearly the bandwidth that they supposedly allot me for service. They claim over and over that it has to be on my end and yet I had had the exact same or similar problems at multiple sites. If there wasnt a basic monopoly in my area I would drop them so fast. Avoid them unless you have to.

3 weeks of calls, two technicians out, 3 modems and being told that the Lineman crew had to repair the problem on the TDS lines. It has been a week of waiting for the lineman repair. The internet goes in and out so bad we have cancelled Netflix and other paid sites. 2/2021

Services go out on the weekly basis. Internet is slow even if youre paying for the 600mbps. Cant get anything done with it. Starting to get to the point where Im better off using the hot spot on my phone. Has better speed and connection compared to TDS. Unfortunately its the only service available since ATT is available only in certain locations. If you can find a better internet provider, do it. These guys aint worth a f*ck.

Internet just goes on and off as it pleases... happens just about everyday. Some days it’s only for a few minutes, but most are for hours... wish there was another internet place in town that is decent. This internet is great when it’s running... Since this post I have changed my 2 star to a 1 star... it’s about 5 or 6 times a week where I’ll lose internet for hours on hours... no warning and there’s no fix until they get back into the store and they might fix it... I will be making sure that I NEVER BUY TDS AGAIN.... I’m moving just to get away from the worst internet anyone could buy.. you pay for 600 MBPS and you average less than 100 and that’s if it works!!! THIS COMPANY IS TRASH

Had a appointment on the 12th and the service tech was supposed to call me an hour before showing up and nothing so I called there office and they tried to tell me that he called which is a lie because I never received any call or text from him I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use there service and my question to the people in the office why didn’t they make the Attempt to even call me to let me know he was there or on his way 👎👎👎👎

This 5 star is for the tech Louis and his support Kenneth! He came out did his evaluation in my home, outside, down the road and got me going over the course of two days. I never thought that I would ever be pleased with my internet after several years of terrible speeds and techs that just pass the buck and cost me work days. I also want to give a 5 star to my on the phone tech Neil who like Louis spent time trouble shooting, correctly noting problem and not being like all the other encounters on the phone that pass the buck. This was the best experience and made me glad to choose TDS. I really hope that this was a result of TDS finally noticing who is doing their job and not just repeatedly closing the ticket to get a paycheck. TDS I highly hope that your company follow the lead of these hard workers; they will get your sorry reviews back up to standard and in time above average!

I have had repeatedly dropped connections with this Internet service. Called multiple times for drop connections and highlight latency. Customer service always has you reset the modem and never sends anyone to look at the service. I am tech savvy and am able to troubleshoot all other factors to device including router function, firewalls, passthrough, Ethernet adapters etc and all of this is fully operational. Service is so poor I have had 12 dropped connection instances in the last 48 hours. Repeated calls to customer service does not motivate them to make reparations or attempts to repair service. Would not recommend this company unless they make some drastic changes to their quality of service they provide and their overall business model.

Report them to the better business bureau, call their corporate number and leave them a review of the terrible service. Windstream is the only service in town worth paying for, they may not offer the same speeds, but 100Mb/s from Windstream is more than you’ll get with 300Mb/s from TDS. They have broken fibers in their cable from a bad install and it’s constantly dropping their Bandwith to customers. They don’t know how to fix the problem or it’s too costly to repair. It’s a greedy mismanaged company and everyone should boycott them for stealing from people.

TDS is a complete sham. Dont expect anything less than this company taking advantage of customers. They tell you, you dont have a contract, but if you choose to change anything on your service, the charges double. The person I spoke to today basically told me that they can do what they do because they are the only company who can provide for us. How is that right? They show a price online, but that doesnt apply. Internet service for $75/mo? Rediculous!!! TV/internet is supposed to be $77, but of course they find a way around that too.

Service is good when it works. I have been without internet services for over a week because of an outrage. No one in customer service knows anything. Not ETA on a repair being done. Finally, was able to get a supervisor to admit that a fiber optic cable h is d been cut and needed repair. Should of been up and running this evening and yet they still have no ETA on what the situation is.

Wish there was a zero star option. In a time where WiFi is readily available and unlimited (for the companies) there is no reason their wifi to be this bad. It is awful, just down right deplorable. Doesnt matter how many times you call, how much you pay, its always the same thing. The wifi stops and starts for no reason, and customer support always says the same thing. Its the wires/location. The claim of high-speed wifi isnt correct. You will not get what you pay for, not even in the slightest. I hope this company will treat its customers better in the future but Im not holding my breath.

Wind stream is the way to go 100% TDS is terrible only because the connection is unstable. Constant disconnects and inconsistent speeds. They will never fix the issues they have. I have tried TDS a couple times on different sides of town over the last few years and it’s still just as terrible and frustrating as it was 5 years ago. If you need help deciding I hope you go Windstream because you are making a huge mistake choosing TDS.

In 58 years of life I have never had a worse utility company. They put a BIG pedestal 6” from the edge of my driveway (in the middle) & refuse to move it (I even offered to pay to move it). I signed up for auto pay then was threatened to have my service cut off. When I told them I had auto pay they said it takes a month to be activated (I had to pay with a credit card). My first bill was over $400, when I asked why I was told I was charged several months in advance. I did not receive very many channels compared to other tv providers I’ve had in the past. When I called I had to pay additional $ for the channels I wanted. The list goes on and on. They are horrible!!!!!!!!!

What is worse than terrible? TDS! I was completely without any service for months and never received the promised adjustment to the bill. Modem has to be replaced every year to 18 months. Each time, the repair man tells me they gave me an outdated, worn out refurbish. I use my cell phone hotspot more often than TDS because it is out most of the time. I want a real provider to come into this town. It is time to get rid of the old blue laws that protect and limit service.

My appointment was for after 3:30 as close to 5 as possible, they showed up at ten to 3 and left, I called customer service and was lied to each time, four times throughout the week I had to call them to see what resolution was going to take place to get our internet service. Each time was told another story then on there own made an appointment for me on a day I was out of town, that was my fault apparently. So I thought let’s go to there office in Carlsbad.....again customer service was at best poor...it’s time for another company to come into town and create Competition. Consumer be aware with TDS.

One start is too much for this company. A tip also if there is an outage in the area you are supposed to get a 25% discount, according to last tech support person I spoke to on phone, so call call call and maybe if they have to give out enough monye thay will actually fix their connection issues. We have had TDS since before It was TDS and the past year the service has been terrible. Its the only cable internet in the area so its as if they do the minimum since they dont have competition. We have had a tech out here not exaggerating probably every three weeks, and its worse than its ever been now. All I get from tech support the past month is a sorry there is and outage in the area. For an entire month?!?! I call BS on that. The last tech who came literally walked in my house, looked at his phone and said oh its a connection issue at the plant, then said hed have it put in a work order and left. Still doesnt work and still hasnt even been looked at. Customer service isnt any better since there is no way to talk to a local person only a call center unless you drive to the actual office. Getting disconnected every 35 to45 mins. TDS has counted 55 times in one day. We Call and they say we are working on it or you can’t even talk to anyone cause it’s a recording saying to restart your system. Which doesn’t help all. The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because, after shutting off my service I received a letter from them reminding me to return equipment or I would have to pay them. I found this irritating because I received the letter at the same time as the box they sent for me to be able to send back the equipment.

I scheduled a meeting time for new installation during the week since they do not come out for installs on weekends. Note: I work Monday-Friday 4am-6pm. I scheduled to take off on a Thursday for the field tech to come out to my apartment for install. They gave me a time frame of 1-5pm that the tech would show. I was home the etire time and the tech never showed. I called around 4pm looking for a ETA on the tech. Customer support had it marked down that the tech had showed at my apt, left a note on door and left. No note, no knock and no phone call like they mentioned theyd do. Customer support said theyd call the tech and get back with me in 15 mins. I waited an hour, no response, so I called back....another rep picks up and tells me hes going to get to the bottom of this and would call back. Ill let you guess if they called me back... They also mentioned they wanted to reschedule, making me miss another full day of work nearly. No thanks. Canceled, hoepfully you have better luck!

So I’m a new customer, I just moved here from Phoenix and noticed there’s not many choices for internet providers. So I open an account with TDS and get the basic speed at first, and then raised it to their 300 plan a few days later as their 100 was just too slow. Now mind you, the 300 is like 90 something a month and in this first month my internet has dropped completely over 18 times. So I reset the modem every time; call for tech support and they try fixing it and tell me they need to send I tech out. This modem is supposed to be brand new and my cable lines should be unobstructed. Now, the internet works fine in the day time, but about 8 to 9pm at night it just drops to 0mbps.Hope to find a better internet provider soon. This is super frustrating!

Rated one star because no stars wasnt an option. If you get service at all, it will not be anything near what youre paying for. They blame squirrels for all their problems. Signal drops when the wind blows, it rains, snows, or gets colder than 40 degrees. If you call out a tech, theyll promise repairs that will never happen. If you call to complain, they just disconnect you. Sadly, they are the only service provider in the area.

Service is absolutely terrible. There is no way this company could stay in business if they had real competition. We scheduled a tech to come out to fix our internet and cable and he fiddled around for about 10 minutes and then let me know that he wouldnt be able to fix it today because he wasnt actually a tech that day. Ended up sending out another tech about 2 days later. Why they sent the first guy at all... Well never know.

I had wrote a negative review previously but TDS has come through and fixed my internet service. Im getting 100+ of my 100m service. The tech guys were helpful and friendly. Been through the customer support countless times and iv had a few long wait times but not much. I cant speak for the T.V services but the internet speed is providing for my heavy heavy use household.

There are things that I like and a lot of things I dislike about this provider:Pros: They have the fastest internet.They always arrive on time and the techs are always so nice.Cons: There is a lot of down time, around dinner time its almost as slowas dial up (for those of you who remember dial up LOL) When I call to report the slow internet they say its the down time and they only guarantee speeds UP TO 600mbs... it is NEVER 600mbs lol but when I paid for 100mbs I usually got about 70, now that its 600 sometimes I get lucky and its over 100 XD but when you want them to fix it if it isnt the modems problem you have to pay for the tech. BIG negative. TDS is also very expensive.Being that we are very limited on internet providers, Im glad we have them and Im glad that it works at least 90% of the time.

Terrible service and when calling to inform of problems you can’t even get information from them about the problem. Low grade internet and I plan NM for their small business laws that don’t allow an AT&T to come and run their internet that actually works. To pay $65/Month for the crappiest connection where I can’t even finish streaming a tv show or movie. Would not recommend and if there was another provider in the area I would switch in an instant no matter what I had to pay in order to leave this horrendous company.

If I could give less than one star, I would. We were in town visiting family for a few days. I would say almost half the time the services (internet, cable, and telephone) were either not functioning at all, or minimally, with outages exceeding a dozen times on a daily basis. We were routinely unable to finish TV programs or a get a full DVR recording. After multiple attempts to do an internet speed test, which seemed almost impossible because the internet wouldn’t function long enough to run it, we received a reading that was a fraction of what the company advertises and subscribers pay for. When I found out how much our family pays for the services they have, which only includes basic cable, I was horrified! Back home, with Xfinity, we have all the same services including all premier channels, and 6 cable boxes for the same price. I can’t image paying this much for sub-standard service. I think some competition for TDS would do the Carlsbad market some good.As a side note, our family has had technicians out to their house 6 times in the last few months, equipment has been replaced, and the problems continue to exist.

My first reaction to the 60mbps service that is popular with TDS was horrid, I saw DL speeds of12-14mbps if I was lucky, lets not even go into the upload. i just accepted it. A few months later they came out with the 100mbps offer, I took it and have been seeing 82-96 mbps consistently. Its much better....much better.

Definitely Recommend You Go With Directv or Dish Network!!I currently have Baja Broadband in Carlsbad, NM. I have the 50 MB internet service ( if you can consider it service ). I used to have the television with the internet but had nothing but issues. I would want to watch tv and the cable was continuously down. Now I just have the internet and even though I have the 50MB internet, I never have 50MB. I have over three months of speed records from the Ookla speed test app. Its usually at less than 2MB.I have gone to the office in Carlsbad to see about getting this issue resolved and they continue to tell me that they will get someone out to look at the issue, now on four months I havent seen anyone. Customer service is definitely one of their strong suits and I would definitely not recommend this company and their services to anyone. In my opinion, I think One Star is too many!
