First 3 seconds of being there I was greeted with a smile and asked how I could be helped. Anthony said he would have someone look at my car issues and get back to me via phone text. I LOVED that! I was not pressured into anything and it made me feel like I was in charge of the service process and not the other way around. I came back at 5:15 to pick up my car and many of the employees were getting ready to leave for home. every single one of them that passed me said “good night” or “have a good night”. Not one person passed without recognizing that I was standing there! To me this was customer service excellence. Anthony was extremely helpful and very sweet he took the time to explain in detail the process of getting my car fixed. From beginning to end I was treated with respect and kindness. I thank you for that!

Jeremy and the service staff were awesome. We had a an issue with our CX-5 while vacationing away from home. They were very accommodating, patient and friendly.The technician sent us a video inspection of our car and explained the service recommendations as he walked around it.I highly recommend them for any service needs.

Great service and staff. Video reviews are a neat idea but not sure how much value as I can’t really see much other than dirty fluid. To make them really effective the camera would have to get close and be more than a 5 min glance at the car. I’m an engineer tho so others may not even care.Of course I wish things weren’t so expensive, but I guess that’s just car maintenance.Complementary Rides to and from via Uber are amazing!

I brought my Mazda in for an oil change last week. After an hour they sent me a text saying I needed rear brakes, air filter, alignment, fuel induction service, and brake fluid exchange in the amount of $800. I texted them back and told them I just wanted an oil change. When I picked up my vehicle I asked the man at checkout how much do I have left on my rear brakes. He looked at the paperwork and told me that I only had 10% left and my brake fluid was low. I was very surprised since my vehicle only has 29,000 miles. So I paid for my oil change and decided to take my vehicle to another mechanic to get a second opinion. Thank goodness I did because it turns out I still had 50% remaining on my rear brakes and my brake fluid was fine. I also did not need a fuel induction service yet, usually it’s recommended at 60,000 miles. I’m so disappointed that this place was dishonest and I will not be taking my vehicle here ever again.

This leaves no wondering if they are telling you the truth. I also like the breakdown of the urgent needs and the not so urgent need and the costs involved. Not only did they cover our repair (new screen) but we left our stroller in the loaner they gave us and they were able to get it out for us on the weekend despite the service department being closed. Ask for a better price on a used car after I discovered it had been in multiple accidents (which was only buried in the car fax). Sales men got up and went to manager as they do. Only manager has in ear shot and he went on a rant about his customers wanting money off your every little scratch and I should either buy it or get out. Would of left at that point but salesman Fred was incredibly nice and smoothly negotiated a better price for me.Days after driving the car home it would not start. The battery was not holding a charge. I did buy the car “as is” but was also under the impression that it went through a inspection that would of including testing the battery. I was told by the technician that they do test the batteries but when the car goes to detail the workers leave the radio on with car off and this is a common problem. Also cruise control is not working and was told they don’t have the equipment to diagnose. Was charged 200+ dollars for new battery.

Anthony and the other staff members were welcoming and friendly. They were happy to answer all of my questions! The lobby isnt open, but they offered to take me anywhere. The drivers were friendly too and were good company. The technician sent a video of what he inspected and the work that he recommended done to the vehicle. I could see the issues with my own eyes. I love the honesty and transparent aspect of this feature. I highly recommend you take your Mazda here to maintain your car and take a little me time at the mall or salon while you wait.

I came here yesterday because my car was near the end of its hundred thousand mile warranty. I brought it in and let them know the only reason I’m bringing my vehicle in is to fix anything covered under warranty before my warranty expires. I was told a visual check can be done for free but they will not be able to fix anything under warranty because they will not be able to see unless hooked up to a diagnostic machine, and it would cost me $155. I agreed because I assumed anything fixed under warranty would be more costly if I wait till after my warranty is past 100,000 miles. When I picked up my car I was informed that my warranty had expired back in January, had I known this I would’ve never brought my vehicle here to this dealership.They charge me 135 to top off windshield wiper fluid and recommend air filters, something that could’ve been done at a Valvoline. I feel ripped off and I will never be back to the dealership I even waited to speak with a supervisor and he did nothing to help me very disappointed, will not be back.

Oil change is great as usual but they left me sitting for an extra 45 minutes because instead of coming to ask me if I wanted my air filter replaced they texted me. This was frustrating since they knew I was waiting and I had my 2 year old with me. They didn’t tell me to expect an additional text from them, only the one I got early on with the video so I wasn’t watching my phone. Oil change took over 2 hours and I had an early morning appt.

As soon as I arrived for my appointment, Jeremy was very attentive and thorough. The lounge left very much to be desired — it felt like a truck stop and was very dim with only three chairs. Aside from that, my Cx5 was handled within the hour. I was surprised to receive a video explaining what service was done. Very personalized and clear. They even gave my car a wash! Very nice!

Upon dropping my car off to my service appointmen, I sat in my car and finally stood outside of my car waiting to be checked in. One service advisor was checking someone else in, another one was working on his computer…after 7 minutes of standing there, I asked if someone could help me. The 2 service advisors should have given a quick greeting with..,we’ll be right with you, thank you got waiting…or something in that tone. Instead they just have pretend you are not there. After finally being taken care of by another service advisor (after 10 minutes of standing there) and a slow computer system, I was able to get going. Oil change maintenance was done quickly, got a call a little over an hour later saying my car was done. Check out was easy and the girls at the cashier desk were very friendly and courteous. If I had a choice I would bring my car elsewhere for maintenance, unfortunately, I bought the maintenance package when I bought my car, leaving me to be serviced by Mazda for couple more years.

From the time I purchased my 2016 Mazda, I’ve never had a bad experience at this dealership. Everyone has always been extremely professional, from the service department to the sales staff. As with any dealership service, the prices are more on the “premium” side but they check everything and “kick the tires”, etc. They recommended some additional work when I was there for recall service. Brakes, fluids, etc. I opted to wait a bit longer due to the cost, but with their recommendations they included a video filmed and narrated by the inspecting mechanic. Everything was very detailed and transparent. Mazdas are great cars and if you’re in the market for one, Bob Baker Mazda is the first place you should go.

The service department is who is getting this review. I had made an appointment with the department to fix an ongoing rear brake issue. there was a service bulletin out for the rear brakes needing an adhesive pad to stop the excessive and very loud squealing when using the brakes. i brought the car in and the service tech told me my cars brakes were no longer under warranty (my car had less than 36000 miles on it so they are in fact covered and less than 3 years of owning the vehicle) the service tech told me in a condescending matter that the only thing they can do is clean the brakes but the problem will continue to persist. I just recently took my car back in but this time to the Mazda Dealer in Escondido. I can not even begin to say how much better their customer service is. My brakes were fixed per the service bulletin and covered under warranty I might add. I wish I had better service at Carlsbad as i live less than a mile from that location but until they fix their attitude towards women and customers I will not be back.

Seamless. I appreciate being able to drop it off and get a ride to and from work. One thought. Although pretty cool, the virtual video upon completion really did not show me anything factual. I appreciate the effort, but maybe throw in some gages showing the factual results along with a more focused timeliness on tires and/or brakes or any parts that need replacement. Great idea, just needs more meat to be anything other than puff. Thank you for the opportunity for feedback.

Mazda service @ Carlsbad location is terrible they did not access the problem of my car at all...they blatanly lied to me and said they cannot see any substance/ residue on my car/ engine bay thats causing a burning rubber smell on my brand new car ...when they returned my car I can clearly see all of the white substance underneath my car..Im am livid!😡..I hope to have better service from Mazda Escondido when I take my car there...Dont even waste your time speaking with the Carlsbad Mazda service manager Tom he is RUDE & BIAS!.. I really like the new feature that the mechanic sent me a 2 minute clip showing what he is checking while the car is raised ( like the tires) and with the car down, he checks under the hood. He goes through everything that he is looking at. It lends me comfort that nothing has fallen through the crack.

Plus, they are making things super easy: once their work estimate is done, you receive a link to the full details of the work proposed and you can easily remove the itmes you dont want done. They are awesome. Didn’t try and nickel and dime us. Got my mazdaspeed 3 and our old Jeep some needed oil changes. I received a link via text to watch the underside inspection of my car. Picked up my new CX-5 Carbon Edition AWD last Saturday and I’m stoked! For once it was a painless, stress free, new car buying experience from start to finish. My salesman, Marcos Guerrero was straight forward, no pressure and had answers to all my questions and concerns. I’ve owned over 40 cars and this was one of the easiest buying experiences to date. I had gone to Riverside Mazda earlier in the day and it was a nightmare. They added a dealer markup of $2,500 and a bunch of unneeded and unwanted options adding $5,000 to the MSRP. Dealers in LA are adding $5,000 to this popular model, but Bob Baker sold it to me at slightly less than MSRP and I’m one happy buyer. I watched other salespeople at work there and their demeanor was also low key. I rarely leave reviews, but I felt I should here. I really do think this is the best dealership I’ve ever worked with. Check here before you look elsewhere and be sure to ask for Marcos.

I really appreciate the service and the staffs kindness, I randomly showed up and was able to get service done on my car, it was a super cold and windy afternoon and one of the office workers let me wait wait in his office while he went out for lunch, he turned on the heater for me and left a charger in case I needed to charge my phone. I am giving Bob Baker Mazda 3 Stars because they just made me waste my money on their wiper blades for my CX-5, their customer service is great but the quality of their wiper blades are terrible. I went on my first schedule Maintenance Service and I noticed the rubber in one of the blades was starting to come off so I told them to replace them so I had to buy both blades and I was fine with that but a week later I noticed the same thing was going on on the same wiper blade that was replaced and that got me thinking that maybe they didnt replace them with new ones and they were trying to rip me off by trying to fix the old wiper blade, I talked to the manager of the service department about it calmly and without blaming anyone and he replace them himself right away. I was happy and relieved that I was helped without a fuzz but now with the first rains of the season in San Diego and no more than 2 months after replacing my wiper blades I turned on my wiper blades and I see the same problem again, now I have to buy wiper blades again but not from Bob Baker Mazda.
