Very poor attitudes, rude, unprofessional, and not very willing to help. A couple years ago I couldve given a good review but after the terrible experience I have had now especially in such an emergency and needing to find a place to live in such a short time and with covid going on i definitely have to highly not recommend it!!

Roach infested. Slum lord. They’ll fix it up good to move you in. But will not fix anything afterwards. Wont fumigate or anything. The good thing is they don’t do credit checks. Easy to move in. So I gave it 1 star.

I’ve rented from these people for a year and didn’t know that everyone calls them slumlords because they don’t fix any of their properties but want you to pay your bills on time and quick to evict you without warning. Yes it’s priced reasonably but it’s not worth living unless you don’t care about roaches,mold, mice, fleas, bedbugs or etc. Been asking them to fix things since I first moved in and they refused to do so. I’m over it.

Since Im month to month at the unit all my rent Is paid. Im just do for this month today December 10, 2019 was the second day I have called about my heat and hot water. Even I called at 8am on both days to make sure i had heat and hot water when i get off. But still no heat nor hot water. Im not even behind in rent Im just due for this month. I have 2 small children living with me and I cant get nobody over here to fix the heat nor water. The only thing I was asked was when was I paying rent. Thats it. Cant say Im behind in rent because I have every receipt since the day I moved in. I just cant believe me and my children are going to freeze to death because no one is going to fix the heat. Nor take a good bath because of no hot water.

They would never come fix problems, like they stated they would in our contract, so I contacted Burlington City Code Enforcement. Maybe that will get them on the ball about fixing our problems. For two months they have said they would fix a rotted out door frame that their maitence men damaged more than it was before. They said they would put a weather strip up and instead hammered off some of the falling wood frame and nailed a base board to my door frame. That did nothing to fix the problem. I have bugs and cold air coming in my house now. I was told my bathroom and bedroom will smell like sewage sometimes because the whole system is backed up and wont be fixed. My kitchen and bathroom counter has been rotting out since I moved in August. My bottom window panel isnt the right size so water comes in when it rains. My neighbors have had the cops called on them five times for noise disturbance and they dont want to do anything about that either. I signed a contract and have kept my end of the deal so I expect the same out of the landlord or I will be pursuing more ways to ensure me and my family are treated fairly. I have a one year old son and I will not continue to have him living in these conditions. I have given them plenty of time to come spray for bugs and fix problems.

Their property Parkside apartments on Mebane st Burlington is a danger to everyone living there and neighboring apartments. There are visable drug deals daily while kids present, thefts to neighboring apartments and citizens. Ive personally witnessed a armed robbery on that property but most recently tags to vehicles have been stolen and confirmed by law enforcement to be stolenby people living in Parkside. Many complaints have been made to Smith rentals concerning this property. Smith rentals has done nothing what so ever to make this a better community. Im not surprised that no one can get a response from them. Its all really shameful.

Only good thing about them is their low deposits. But maintenance sucks, neighbors might be murderers because they rent to anyone. Tenants do not take care of the property

We have been calling for months trying to get our windows fixed and our back door yet its like they dont even tell their maintenance men anything and Im pretty sure theyve been over charging on my rent and when we mooved in we thought it looked good but after the first month the whole apartment starts falling apart and roaches are coming from every corner and crack. The people have no respect for their property or their renters

The service is absolutely horrendous. The receptionist for this company was very rude and refused to provide me with any sort of information over the phone, never have I EVER been treated by a rental company like this. When I asked her to see if she could fax me the information she told me that she would not with a very rude stuck up tone in her voice, first of all... I was not asking to sign a lease, I was asking for general information, second of all there is no reason for her to get an attitude over the phone with a potential client, I felt discriminated against and stereotyped, what kind of business is this and what kind of customer service employees are they hiring? Obviously ones with no respect to the client, no charisma and no professional etiquette. I advise locals to NOT deal with this company at all!!!

The staff are very disrespectful to the people that rent from them every time you go and pay the rent its always a bad vibe. When I first moved into the apartment it was filled with roaches, it was dirty, the floors were busted up no new tile the kitchen and bathroom looked a mess I had to clean everything.. The from door you could see the outside from inside. I asked could they replace the floor they said no I asked could they fix the door they said no. I paid my rent on time never had an eviction notice on my door, was always respectful to them even when they had an attitude, I lost my job told them I had to move early they lied and said I didnt have to pay the rest of my rent then said I was going to get my deposit check in the mail and they send me a letter saying i owe them money. They are greediest people I ever met all those properties and you guys send me a letter about money knowing I lost my job...!!!! You guys never want to fix anything.. Your apartments are sorry how they look and you guys charge that high rent those apartments are not even worth that much too be honest I do not honor the disrespect from Smith Rentals.

I will never rent from Smith Rentals again. We stayed in an oceanfront condo, in Palms Resort. Dont get me wrong, the ocean view was amazing; but it was one of the only good things about the condo. I would have been 100% satisfied, if my problems would have been dealt with. However, when we showed up, there was a dishwasher full of nasty dishes, dried piss and hair all over the toilet, hair all in the bathtub, the ONE remote in the condo didnt work at all for either tv, and the worst part of all were the BLUNT ROACHES on the balcony, and the ID FROM A PREVIOUS CUSTOMER WITH DRUGS CRUSHED UP UNDERNEATH IT ON TOP OF THE REFRIDGERATOR. The paperwork i had from Smith Rentals said to call after we showed up if there were any problems, we werent able to get there until about 2 or 3am Sunday. So i wasnt able to get in contact with anyone from their office until the next morning, once i got in touch with someone the only response i got was, well make sure to talk to the cleanup crew. Yeah... okay. Then when i called the next few days to get more towels, since my packet specifically said, linens included i was told, that was all the linens we got for the week and that if we needed more we could pay for them. Whoever i spoke to on the phone was rude when i responded with they should include that they dont give more in the packet, and began to reiterate on the problems we had when we arrived, he says well you should have called us when you got there its not our issue just rude all around and their customer service could be 1000 times better. Just beware and make sure you know what youre paying for! DO NOT RENT WITH THEM!

Ive been living on Smith Rentals property for the last 3 years when I had a problem and I called the office they sent someone out the very next day the office staff is very polite and the maintenance staff is very courtesy and very knowledgeable they treat me like I was part of their family I can say Im very proud to live on Smith rentals properties

Everybody $650 or less is horrible..they actually gave us the keys to a place that had dog poop on the balcony and the carpet with dogfood in the closet..the manager then told us the property was ready and they were not going to replace the carpets and that they had already been cleaned.. Another property smelled like an animal died inside my husband was so upset he turned around and took the key back...horrible company takes no pride in properties

Smith Rentals is the worst rental company you could ever rent from. Mr. Smith could call the your phone harassing you about your rent not being due and he would never work with you if you was struggling to pay rent. He is very mean and childish and rent is beyond expensive and will not fix anything at all.

It is Terrible conditions, Current Tenants say they never fix anything, electrical problems, AC Dont work, Infested with roaches .Call them but never fix anything but are quick for eviction if ten days late,.The Fire Dept should do inspections for fire hazards,.City should also do inspections, .Apartments are full of bedbugs, .BEWARE Before you rent Here
