It was a great experience. Frank was very friendly and helpful, and my transaction took like 2 minutes. And they gentleman that took my rental back was fast and efficient, I was running late, but was able to make my flight on time. Thank you!
I am an Avis Preferred member, and while I like the Avis brand in general, the rental counter at the Burbank airport leaves a lot to be desired. Despite my Preferred status and a confirmed reservation, a car was not ready for me upon landing. The Preferred booth on the 3rd floor of the rental car garage was deserted, and I had to stand in line with a dozen or more people while the overworked person at the rental car counter tried to process everyone. This resulted in me having to reschedule my dinner reservation in Westlake Village; fortunately they could accommodate me in a later time slot. This is the second time Im flown into Burbank only to find chaos and disarray at the Avis counter. Come on Avis; when the COVID stimulus payments end, pony up a decent salary and adequately staff the Burbank counter. Im sure there are people willing to work.
We reserved our car in advance. Pick up and return of car were easy and quickly accomplished. There was no line for car pick up at about 5:30 on a Friday afternoon at the Burbank airport rental. Staff were friendly and professional. The car we received was the type we had reserved. It did, however, smell of cigarettes. The main issue for us which lowered our rating was that price (about $85 a day!).
The car had been vacuumed and washed on the outside, but that seemed to be it. The car was so dirty inside. The seats were stained and dirty, the doors had grease smudges on the inside, it looked like someone lived in that car. Just completely dirty and stained from the ceiling to the floor. I will definitely think twice about renting from Avis next time I rent a car. The only reason we kept it was because weve been wanting to rent a Jeep and they were literally the only place I could find that had one available for rent. And we were on a time crunch.
Check in and check out were great. I really liked the vehicle. Roadside assistance is a joke. I have never had to use it before, but after 5 hours of waiting I had to make other arrangements.
Had signs for preferred members to go upstairs, so I did with my 2 checked bags, my backpack and 2 toddlers only to find out that upstairs was closed and had to go back down. Once I did, the car they said we had was not what was in the spot and was too small to fit my kids car seats in the back. The only saving grace was the employee who got it fixed and got us in a different car.

Didnt have the car I needed,ended up getting a larger vehicle which caused double of money. So we didnt get to enjoy our Vaca. When I made a comment on their survey they said 30 minutes after we left they said they charged us the 500.we were supposed to pay.Why did they wait to tell us, why not send us an email, phone call, text, to let us know this information and that we had Unlimited miles. Our 4 day vacation was spent in a motel room. And this was our first time in Burbank California.
I was provided a new vehicle that was amazing and truly met our needs for this trip. Everyone at Avis did a great job to ensure that I was treated well. I enjoy the benefits of the Avis Preferred program. Thank You!
I have never been let down. My car is almost always ready to go. However, it is your employees that keep me returning. Ahmed Hassan at the San Diego airport is a perfect example. With employees like him Ill always choose Avis. He told me up front that I was being charged 20 cents/mile because it was a one-way drop-off. This was no surprise but he could have easily just printed the receipt. When I told him that there was a very sour smell when I picked it up, his first response was an apology. The second was that they would take care of it. What a class act.
The pick up process was straightforward and flexible. The car was very nice,inch better than I expected with advanced features.
Ive always been impressed and enjoyed AVIS, but this last rental was a problem. On the last morning of my rental, I found that the car battery was dead as I was leaving the hotel in Lompoc, CA. Had to use the emergency key to unlock the door. No power at all. I called the AVIS number on the key chain and AVIS got in touch with a local service to come and have the car battery jumped. Great! Or so I though. By the time they got there jumped the rental car, I missed my morning meetings. I drove to the airport in Burbank, CA and turned in the car with no further issues. But then AVIS charged my credit card for getting the assistance. Are you kidding me? I rented the car in good faith, the car battery went dead, then AVIS charged my card for the bill! I never even got any paperwork for the assistance. How do I know that AVIS charged me what they were charged?!? Poor customer service for such a company I had trusted prior.
Avoid Budget/Avis Dennis. Its a trap. Just say No and wait for the lady in white on the right she gets the job done! Do not reccomend this place and terrible location. West Olive is the only Legit Avis in town. Goodluck!
My rental experience was super easy with no hassle at all and your employees very friendly and explained everything to me, it was my first time getting a rental car and they made.a very pleasant experience.
Starting with location at the airport, wasnt clear where to park and which counter would serve my reservation, wasted time getting the car. Once again we received a car that was still wet, they didnt bother to dry it, nor properly hand over the car. And most importantly the car wasnt cleaned inside at the standard theyre supposed to take because of covid. Lastly, the car was couple years old and missing a lever for the fuel opening. And after spending time figuring it out, needed some type of tool to pop open the fuel tank cover. This was the 2nd reservation with Avis, after we got dirty cars from them last reservation couple months ago and happened again, for a older car. With other options, absolutely no reason to use Avis again.
I rented a SUV on Sat,Aug,14,2021 to return it the next day,already on my way to my destination I realized that the AC did not work! I called Avis and they answered that I could return it but they did not have another SUV available, so I decided to keep it because I was already halfway there,the day was hot and we arrived sweating to our party.
The staff were super friendly and helpful! My daughter was in a wheelchair and the agent was kind enough to send us to the car closest to the counter so we didnt have to walk far.
Inaccurate cars terrible service. arrived with a reservation and got Dennis wbo I do not recommend Do not do business here. Staff is very dead low and super unhappy, waste of time and very dishonest. Funny how this place works.
I did not feel comfortable driving my rental car up the steep ramp and tried to call both the national numbers and Burbank Avis many times over several days. The operator number at Burbank just rang with no answer and the national customer service kept telling me to call Burbank Avis. I made a complaint on the web site and the response I got was to call the Burbank Avis. So I ended up taking the car back to Pasadena one day early and Ubering for my last day in Pasadena. I paid for the day that I did not have the car...because I had already paid on my credit card. I have not been refunded any money for the day I had no use of the car. The people working at Burbank are nice, but the whole system of customer service is beyond frustrating at Avis.

The car had very basic seats that were not comfortable but far more importantly the child car seat we rented with our car was so awful. It left marks on our sons back, it was unable to adjust and he sat forward and was so miserable in the seat. He cried every time he was in it. I ended up using my sisters old car seat for 2 days just to avoid that car seat. It was one of the cheapest csr seats Ive ever seen and will never rent from avis again.

A specifically rented from you guys over my last four visits of needing a rental over the last two months. On all the visits I prepaid. For some reason on the last two visits I had to put a credit card down and I was charged on both it really seems like a dirty scheme to me this last time specifically in Burbank I prepaid for gas and the rental and met with the guy at the rental counter because my car was not waiting for me when it was supposed to be I spent 10 or 15 minutes with him he went over everything and gave me a different car because I dont think you had what I prepaid for that was the second time that happened it happened in Washington DC as well. Then when I was checking the car back in in Burbank specifically I had about 130 something dollar charge and I told the guy I prepaid he told me that I hadnt looking at my paperwork it does look like I prepaid and I return the card day early and I still had an extra charge Thats two times in a row youve extra charge me on a prepaid for the car just doesnt seem right

This was my first time renting from AVIS. I normally rent from SIXT and they have been very good to me. This experience started off fine and I was registered for your Premier Club and other perks. I was not told that having the car an extra hour and a half would cost me an entire other day in fees and rental charges. This is ludicrous. If the rate is supposed to be $62.97 per day and there are 24 hours in a day then the extra charge should be about $2.63 cents per hour. Charging me a double rental and double fees is highly unscrupulous. This is your last chance to save me as a customer. What do you want to do here? Lose a customer, or save some goodwill?

Overall. Each company has decent cars and service where you just walk out to your car. However I compare prices fairly often and AVis has always been cheaper than Hertz.
Was a very quick process from the front desk to get to the car! Both the pick up and drop off staffs were very curious. The car was very clean and full of gas and had all the amenities you could ask for.
Avis can take advantage of you being in a rush while you are renting a car from them. I asked the person on the counter not to include insurance since my company cover it. Apparently they included anyway. Please pay extra extension when you are signing a contract. Apparently they are not honest about it.

I went down to California for cancer treatment/surgery. Surgery was postponed, so I returned the vehicle early. Avis refused to reimburse me or credit me for future rentals. This wasnt a vacation--this was strictly medical for why I traveled to California. The health costs for treating cancer are staggering already. Its not good when the rental car company piles more on unnecessarily.

I was over charged 1900 dollars for no reason first they give me a car which was never cleaned all dog hair on third row returned gave me a dirty corvette took back agian overcharged for crysler 300 thats insane will never use this company ever no wonder there in business ripping people off like this good thing I look at my statements for every month or else I would never notice charges like this
If it wasn’t for the Manager Rod at the Burbank AVIS location, I would’ve given the rating a 2 star because he saved the day! He helped resolve my issues and was able to redeem my complaints about my experience. The car was great except for the nauseating stench I had to endure, and the staff who greeted me when I picked up the vehicle made it easy and made me feel welcomed, but the phone calls and trying to communicate was where they dropped the ball. Other than that I’m a happy camper and will return to AVIS again! Rod saved the day! He’s my Hero!!! Thanks Rod!!! You’re a valuable Asset to the company! I hope you train all employees to be like you!!!
I was a long time Avis customer. The cars and service have always been great. This time was very different. I reserved a minivan 90 days prior to picking up my car. I am a preferred Avis member, so I proceeded to the 3rd floor to pick up my car. I did not see my name on the board and there were no cars, where every time in the past there were many. No one was there staffing the Avis preferred Desk, so I go to the Avis counter on the 2nd floor, and there is a long line that is not moving. An Avis employee comes out from behind the counter and says there are no cars left of any type and we were all just out of luck. He did not know when any cars would be available. I was understandably upset since I had a credit card secured reservation (They charge you if you do not pick up your car). The Avis employee came back and told me there was a minivan in Downtown Burbank and he would take me there. We left and ended up at the dumpiest, dirtiest Budget rent a car lot in a seedy part of Hollywood. He leaves me there assuring me they had a minivan. The one Dodge Grand Caravan they had was THE MOST FILTHY CAR INTERIOR I have ever seen. The smell was horrendous and it appeared that chickens and goats (or other filthy cargo) had been transported non-stop cross country. I will crawl before I ever rent another car from Avis. STAY AWAY! Your reservation and business means absolutely nothing to them. It was like I was living in a Seinfield episode.

Horrible customer service was kept on hold for over an hour to talk to customer service. Was charged an extra day because I returned the car 2 hours late after I had called and made arrangements to drop off at Burbank Airport instead of Pasadena and was told the only extra fee would be $25 for dropping off at the airport
I had a coupon for 2 free days of rental. I did my reservation on line. I called to see if I could use the coupon so they added it. When I went to pick up car I asked the associate if it showed up on receipt. It didnt and I was told it will when I pay. I called 1/2 hour before I returned the car and they said that it has been allowed. I returned the car and I was charged the full amount. Again I had to go to the front desk and ask why. It took the supervisor about 30 min . To fix the adjustment. Unacceptable. I never had this problem before. It almost made me miss doctors appointment.

Superbbbbbbb rental location. Everyone is soooo polite. I had a pleasant experience with Andrew. He smiled and was very professional. Although I was multitasking, and on the phone 😔 (not polite, on my end), he was gracious and patient with me. I was at the counter for less than 45 seconds. It was so quick, I couldn’t imagine it. I enjoyed my experience here, that I canceled my reservation at Hollywood and extended my rental here at Burbank airport. Day 2, Ty Christian was also Amazing. She helped me during my second experience. I was very pleased!!! I would highly recommend this Avis location because it’s less crowded, there is a Wide range of cars & you will receive phenomenal customer service!! Thanks again Andrew and Ty. You both made my week
Charged hundreds more than what I was originally quoted AND the amount shown on my final receipt upon drop off. No reason was given.
No one notified me that my return location would not be open after 1 or that they do not accept after hours drop offs. I had to drive 25 minutes out of my way, in a hurry to make it before the next closest open location closed. No one was there when I arrived. My lyft cost me twice as much and I wasted 2 hours that I could have spent more productively. Then I was charged for gas.
Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with Avis. First it turned out every car company was $50 less for the same vehicle but in order to cancel Avis wanted $50. Avis would not match the price. We needed a second van and Avis would not match the price. Then Southwest cancelled our flights home we were transporting 12 high school students to and from a 4-H event. We could not leave them in Los Angeles so we drove the Vans back from LA to Roseville. Avis charged us $350 for that change, Enterprise charged us $50 for the change. Outrageous on Avis has part. Enterprise clearly is a better company.
The only reason i am giving a 3 and not a 1 is due to the manger that was so helpful. Every time I rent from AVIS the car I have reserved is NOT AVAILABLE! Why??? Your reservations should go off of live inventory, each customer should be assigned a specific car at the time of reservation and that is the car they should get when they arrive!! Luckily you had a great manager at the Burbank Airport location that was able to solve our problem but it took him about 20 mins to get a vehicle for us, that’s ridiculous! You should greatly consider changing the way you handle your reservations!
Mohammad was incredibly helpful when we had a problem with our 12 passenger vehicle (not mechanical- someone smashed a window) and needed to change vehicles quickly. I cant thank him enough for listening to our concerns and helping us make our college tour successful.

Ive used cheaper companies and regretted it. I go with Avis for the customer service they offer. LAX used to be hell to collect your car, but the app now assigns you a car and you just jump in drive to exit, collect your contract in seconds and you are away. Return to Burbank was even easier and the charming staff make the whole process a pleasure. Not something you would normally say about car rental.
Easy check in. No questions on if you are going to fill the tank up? Insurance? Additional drivers? when you are returning, etc. Easy check out and fast.
I left my money clip in rental car. The manager said he would mail it to me he never did. I tried calling him several times to ask him about this but he never returned my call. I should have called police but I figured you manager would just say he mailed it and does not know what happened to it after that. That money clip belonged to my grangfather. I feel horrible about loosing it. I tell everyone I know about this and tell them that they should never trust Avis. As for me, I only rent from Avis when I have no other choice.

Once again, the windows on the vehicle that I was provided were unimaginable filthy. I had to take it to a car wash to have them all cleaned, so it was safe to drive. Ive been renting from other companies all year, because you dont clean your cars. I was given a vehicle with nearly 40,000 miles on it - seriously? And, as always, the tires were severely overinflated, to the point that on the bumpy roads that now exist in the LA area, it was unsafe to drive at highway speeds. Get your lazy employees to do a better job of taking car of the vehicles you rent, to ensure they are SAFE!
Avis has always been my go-to rental company. By far the most professional out of the standard choices. Only 4 stars this time as the vehicle had in internal rattle that I could not locate or repair. Drove us a bit nuts but at the end of the stay we truly had a good experience.
I felt cheated by Avis. I have rented all my life and suddenly after completing my rental, can to know Avis is charging $22 extra because I drove less than 75 miles. Moreover, at airport I was told by rep that additional $22 will not be charged. But still I see that charge. I will log official complaint of cheating against Avis if that charge is not taken off immediately. I will make sure as many people get educated of these kind of practices from Avis moving forward
Service and staff at the Avis at BUR airport was exceptional. We arrived in the evening with an exhausted toddler and the pick up and process was efficient and easy. The car seat was already in the car and installed when we arrived at the car. The car was clean and comfortable for our family and drop off was a breeze. We will definitely us Avis when we return.
I was running late for my flight and rushing to return the car. Not only was it seamless, but I realized I forgot to return the child seat back to my sister. Your team said they would hold it for her to pick up without a problem.
Picked up my car at Burbank Airport and since I have Preferred, I just went to the spot listed under my name. Couldnt be easier. Once, that is, you got there. Its a very long walk from the terminal with no other way to get there. If you have 2 bags and a carry on, well, good luck. Both ways. The only little problem I encountered was that once I got in my car, I noticed that the gas tank was only at 3/4 full. It was 10:40pm, they close at 11:00pm. There was no one at the counter to talk to. The good news his that they were very understanding when I returned the car with a full tank and I promptly received credit for a 1/4 tank. All in all, a favorable experience, and when I travel to that airport, they will be my rental company of choice. Even with the long walk. ( By the way, the missing star is for location, not service)
It wasnt too bad although its not the Avis I remember. I prefer Enterprise and National now.
I came here without a reservation and had the pleasure of Dennis helping me out. With very low inventory he was able to get me a car for a great price and had superior customer service! If you come here ask for Dennis you won’t be dissapointed.
I was really impressed with the brand new Rav4 I was assigned. The best price I found was through my Allstate Roadside app. The ease of renting, pickup and delivery made this a company I will return to. Just beware of the hard sale of insurance, it isnt necessary if you have insurance.

Its quite a walk from the terminal (all rental car locations are at Burbank airport) but the staff was super helpful helping me figure out how to open the trunk of my car (I didnt realize the VW logo was the trunk handle!!) and I loved my convertible for the weekend. I continue to be very satisfied with Avis!
The Avis staff assisted me very well when I picked up my car. The car I got was really nice and clean. I shopped everywhere for a car rental and compared prices. Avis was the cheapest price. I actually thought because its a well known chain it would have been the most expensive. Will defiantly consider renting from here again if I ever need to. 😄. The Burbank location was nice and clean.
The service was very efficient; I got my car pretty quickly once they checked on my reservation and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The check out service when I dropped off my car was also efficient. My only complaint would be that its a heck of a long walk to the terminal so carry on luggage was about all I could handle; if you have a lot of luggage, drop it off with a point person at the main terminal entrance so you dont have to schlep it on the half mile walk.
This place is incredibly shady. I actually rented the car through Payless on line, but only dealt with Avis employees the entire time. I would never use Avis or Payless again.I rented a minivan from here to do an ikea run. I live a mile from the place so thats why I picked it. I picked up the van from the large parking structure at the airport, was told the keys were in it and it was good to go. I got out to it and sure enough, it looked great. Keys were in it the seats were stow and go so I took a minute to put those down and I was on my way. No one was there at any point to go over the car with me. The only person I saw after the sales counter was a security guard who checked my paperwork and let me out of the lot.I then drove the 5 miles to the Burbank Ikea, bought a couch, drove it the 4 miles to my house, assembled the couch, and drove the van back without any incident.All in all I went a total of about 10 to 15 miles and certainly not anymore than that.When I got back to the lot, Cristal, an employee of Avis was there to check people in. She looked over my paperwork and looked over the car for a minute and then starts looking at a small spot on the windshield. I was puzzled and asked if everything was OK since it was taking longer than it should have already and she asks me if this chip in the windshield was there when I picked it up.After her pointing it out I noticed that there was a tiny chip maybe 1 to 2 mm in size. I said it had to be there already as it definitely didnt happen while I was driving. The ride was so short I didnt even turn music on and I was only at a speed where that could have happened on the highway for maybe 60 seconds. Even a small chip would make a noise and be noticeable when it happened.Cristal then tells me shes gonna have to talk to the night manager, who isnt here, and find out if they need to do a report and asks me if I reported the damage to someone when I picked it up. Well, no I didnt, Cristal. Because I failed to notice a 1 to 2 mm chip that you would have to have an eagle eye to catch, also there was no employee other than the parking lot gate security to speak to at all in the lot.I again say theres no way that occurred while I was in the car, because there wasnt.About 2 hours later I get an email from Cristal saying theyre now reporting this and essentially that theyre trying to pin it on me. I bought full coverage through Allianz regardless but this is still a joke and completely ridiculous. Never rent from Avis or Payless. Never trust anyone named Cristal. If you do have to rent from a business this shady get out a microscope and spend a good 45 minutes checking every single inch of that car so they dont try and pin something on you like theyre doing to me.
Everything I want in a car rental experience. Counter rep was friendly, the process was very fast, and though insurance products were explained, I was not hassled about any choices I made. The return was just as efficient. Probably the most important aspect of the car rental is... the car... and that was perfect, too!
The suv I rented was extremely dirty and smelled of cigarettes. I have never been in a rental car that felt that dirty with stains everywhere. It felt uncomfortable to ride inside that I had to clean it myself.
Avis is my preferred rental car company, for business and family trips. Employees (at the few locations I have been) care about serving others and making a good impression on customers. I know this is not by accident. They are amiable and professional.
Car drove comfortably. I felt safe. We had no issues. We will use Avis again in the future.
I always rent from Avis, and have for the last 18 years now. Just dont want the quality differences that come with less expensive rentals, and the prices for Avis are as competitive as ever.

Reserved full size car on line. When we arrived none available so upgraded free to bigger vehicle. Was almost new. Staff friendly. Wish they would have told us the had a new facility at the Burbank Airport. It was quite a walk.

The customer service here is FIRST RATE! Initially, the car assigned to me smelled of cigarette smoke. When I made Frank, the customer service representative at the kiosk counter, aware of the situation, he was very apologetic, and promptly set me up in another vehicle. He even went so far as to have the vehicle driven to the kiosk! This type of customer service is why I prefer to use Avis for all of my rental car needs.
