Way too packed.. at all hours, Bristol needs some low key gyms. You got dudes in here literally tryna come and sneak a quick peek on girl and not even lift, kinda sad. Commercial gyms kinda ruined Bristols fitness scene.

So far so good! Nick up front was awesome! Great job throughout the tour. Signed up immediately. Huge variety of equipment, privacy for women if need be, and a freakin theater! Very happy with this gym!

Just a fantastic place to work out, every edge fitness club has its own little nuances and I have had nothing but great experiences at every one, I have been to Meriden, Bristol and West Hartford this week, I am not sure which location Google is asking Me to rank but all 3 are really fantastic.

The music is so loud inside I heard it over my ear pods which were a full volume and are made by beats. The music wasn’t my cup of tea of which I wouldn’t mind but when it’s louder than my head phones it was disrupting my work out. I asked the front end worker if they can turn it down she said yes but she didn’t instead she talked to another gentleman who stared at me and did nothing.

Very unhappy with the process of cancelling my gym membership. Been in communication with their membership service for months now about cancelling and the fine print (didnt want to return because of COVID but understood the 1-year contract, so I just paid out the rest of the year and set up no renewal) but they just charged me annual fees and have ignored my emails since. Absolutely awful customer service.

Wow... i was looking at their website and submitted my information. After dozens of emails, calls and texts from this business i texted STOP to be taken off of their text list and unsubscribed from their emails. Months later and i am STILL receiving multiple calls a week. It’s so frustrating and won’t stop; I’ll never buy a membership here for the sole reason that they will not stop contacting me even when I ask. It’s genuinely calls every other day.

I’ve been a member here since they opened 2 years ago and far as I can tell, Bristol is lucky to have an Edge fitness in my opinion. It is a great gym, with newer equipment throughout. The spinning classes are great, the women’s only area is probably my favorite area because it doesn’t get too crowded, there’s more than enough room for multiple women to utilize weight equipment, kettlebells, and dumbbells at a time without feeling like you’re in someone else’s way. Thanks to covid there’s no sauna right now, but their sauna is great when it is in use. In regards to mask wearing, and distancing, I think they’re doing the best they can. There’s signage throughout the gym on properly wearing a mask, plenty of hand sanitizer, and cleaning spray to use to clean equipment. The cleaning crew here also seems to keep up with everything. In terms of gym cleanliness, especially during the pandemic you will be hard pressed to find better than this. The kids area is also still closed, but my youngest son loves coming here when it is open because it’s like a little gym class for the kids too.

I recently attempted to cancel my sons membership due to Covid19 concerns but I was met with generic responses that in summary indicate I havent met the requirements (made enough payments) to cancel. Normally I would agree but I dont think that stance is appropriate given what is going on in the world today. I tried twice to have them acknowledge that these are unusual circumstances but no matter what I write they stick to the read the contract.Penny wise and pound foolish.

I have been trying to cancel my membership since before June. I ended up with a bad asthma flare up and with covid was deemed a high risk. Finally in June I got through to their billing company and was told I do not qualify to cancel on July 1st. I called a couple days later to get clarification and mentioned my asthma and was told that isnt a valid reason. Then I continued going back and fourth in emails. Finally last month I was told I would receive 1 final bill of $49 and then my membership would be canceled. But low and behold I have ANOTHER CHARGE yesterday. I sent another message and was told it wasnt wrong and Im not cancelled. I called and now am told if I supplied a doctors note back in June they would have cancelled and its not their fault I didnt. Literally WORST customer service EVER! I am completely disgusted and at this point I dont know where the cancellation stands. Im told I have to submit another written request in writing and then it will take 30 days and my attempts to June dont matter?? This is insane. I am literally going to pay a fee to my bank to place a stop payment. Id rather pay my bank then have to go through this frustration and horrible customer service any longer. 4 months worth of payments could have been avoided at least they told me now. Just awful.

HORRIBLE communication. This locations manager Rico was not helpful at all and seemed happy with not helping. wants to spread his miserable energy to the members that need his assistance. You would think during a health pandemic a manager at a gym the size of the edge would understand why you would want your account frozen and actual help. Cancel while you can.UPDATE: this is for the “owners” response, NO ONE ☝️ is helping me resolve, they are forcing me to sign another contract in order to wave June and July ?? Which were suppose to have already be frozen due to the “pandemic email freeze option” that they never sent me. This is SICK and MONEY HUNGRY.

This is my favorite Edge location I’ve been to so far. Crowds aren’t crazy when I go, about what you’d expect for a gym if it’s size. Never had a problem getting the equipment I need and it’s always been clean. Front desk staff is pleasant.

Repeatedly asked that they enable closed captioning in their theatre to help those with hearing impairment. Repeatedly received feedback that its a great idea and that they would. They had not during the 2 years I was a member there...Disappointed in their enforcement of their own COVID 19 mask policy. With a walk around, I noticed no less than 10 people not properly wearing their facial coverings. I went to the front desk to mention this and noticed one employee not wearing a mask at all as he prepare a shake. So I was going to mention something to the staff at the cubicles up front but then he didnt have a mask on either so I just walked out.ALSO the hand grips on the bars are now rusting. Its great that it demonstrates people wiping down the equipment, BUT after gripping the bars, my hands were covered in rust

This is an amazing place to work out and get things done. The people on here who complain about the parking are soft. Just walk for a minute, youre going to the gym anyways! The only super busy time is around 6 anyways... The staff is super friendly, amazing and supportive. I took personal training with Christian and Nathan. Really amazing people who care about you and want you to make progress. Overall, this gym is WAYYY more worth it for what you pay for it, 10x better than planet softies and any other gym, its 10$ a month! The edge is the place to be for anyone who likes to work out and doesnt wanna break the bank.

Overall positive view of this facility just a few things that could be better. Most gyms have their busy times of the day where the parking and machines have less availability. I just try to go when it’s not so busy which is usually super early, super late (overnight), or right in the middle of the day. The hours are good and the prices are good. Great machines it’s just a little on the smaller side for a gym like this. Women’s only section has the standard equipment you might need not much for heavy or compound lifting which is fine I just go to the main floor for that. The staff is friendly and helpful, most remember their regulars and they make great shakes. The place is always clean especially the locker rooms which is a plus.

Never stepped into a gym before and would like to thank Nathan for showing me what to do and how to do it right. I have yet to leave not feeling that I did not accomplish something good. Due to a financial hardship I was unable to cancel. This gym is very snooty and not friendly. Everyone there is fit so if your looking to work out and be comfortable dont go here! Planet fitness is better, able to cancel if need be.

The space is large and equipment accommodates those who want to work out with free weights, machines or floor. Watch a movie while you use the treadmill, elliptical, or cycle. Get your supplements too. To boot, if you want to work in a ladies only area- they have one. Whats not to like. Oh, and lets not forget the friendly informative staff

1) Cleanliness of facility 8/10They do a pretty good job cleaning/maintaining.2) Quality of equipment 10/10Hoist brand machines are top shelf.3) Amount of equipment 1/10Plenty of machines. Nowhere near enough free weight plates. And zero plate trees.4) Ability to use equipment 1/10Oversold memberships. Crowded most of the time.5) Courtesy extended by other members 0/10Hogging multiple machines at one time and stealing weights off the machine youre using between sets.In summary, a great looking gym with excellent equipment that is well laid out but theres not enough free weight plates. Also too many members and 90% of them never learned proper gym etiquette. I dont go to a gym so I can wait to be able to get on a machine and then be told Im using that by someone who is also working out 3 benches away simultaneously. If there were half the number of members and twice the numbet of plates, Id still be working out here.

Kathrine did an awesome job signing me up and telling me the specifics as well as being super friendly. I had a membership years ago but decided to sign up again, plenty of equipment. People complaining are too lazy to walk from a further side of the parking lot and are going at the “peak” times.

I truly love this gym. I met with some of the staff and they are phenomenal very helpful kind and polite which is what I would expect but that doesnt usually happen so thats why I give them a 5-star its clean immaculately nothings dirty and it is very friendly atmosphere no judgment so it is awesome

FYI-- Edge Fitness uses a 3rd Party financial firm ABC Financial - which processes memberships for thousands of gyms with no exceptions to gym policies. In the off chance that this isnt explained to you (as it wasnt to me either initially nor at the time I asked the rep at the gym about cancelling) or you fail to read and remember every word of your contract, Id like to explain a kind of greedy nickle and dime stipulation. You cant cancel your membership at the gym! They put you through a fairly inconvenient process to do so, and it takes a full 30 DAYS for the cancellation to be effected after this happens (which isnt real, nothing takes that long now-a-days). That means you have to pay ANY SCHEDULED PAYMENT during that 30 days. Make sure you read those contracts everyone and re-read well in advance of deciding to cancel. This tarnished an otherwise positive experience, I was only cancelling because of changes in my training routines. The gym is actually a very nice facility with helpful, if not fully forthcoming, staff.Update: after posting this review, ABC Financial cancelled the account with no further charges within the 30 days. I have since softened the tone of this review, but will allow the facts remain to be informative to others.

Great gym with great staff. The children’s area is really spacious, and inviting. My two year old son loves it here and is a regular alongside of me of course. It’s a little pricey for the children in my opinion but I can see past it with what they offer the kids and it is a brand new facility. I haven’t experienced a negative employee, or negative anything yet. I’ve been really impressed with all of the cardio machines and weight machines. Everything is kept super clean and well functioning. My membership also comes with a fitness assessment which I’m looking forward to this coming Saturday. The women’s area is really nice. There’s enough cardio equipment for everyone, and plenty of weights and a turf area too. The cinema is also really awesome... most movies are popular and up to date so it’s enjoyable. Coming to the gym doesn’t feel like such a chore here and it has a great atmosphere for all levels of fitness. I’d recommend this place to all of my friends and family.

It looks big from the outside, but there is a lot of wasted space inside. There is useless equipment that only a few people utilize from the gym trying to be a hybrid regular gym/crossfit gym. There is a womans only area, in which the gym charges an extra $20 a month for women to use, so there is usually between 0 - 5 women up there...wasted space. Then there is the ultimate waste of space....the trainer assessment area. The actual area to workout in, is so small, there is an abundance of overcrowding.You pretty much have to go first thing in the A.M., or late late at night to get any kind of a decent workout in so you can actually utilize equipment properly. There are only 4 racks to use, which are always filled up....so people are just constantly hovering around....Get rid of the stupid trainer assessment area....biggest wasted space that there is.... this gym is only good for people who casually workout. They dont even let you use chalk. They said it makes a mess. Mine as well go to Planet Fitness..... I miss Golds...

When I initially called inquiring to sign up the young lady I spoke with was so helpful it made me want to sign up. So I did. Then went in to complete the rest of the process. Unfortunately there customer service in person isnt as impressive. When I initially approached the counter I saw several staff look and not say anything. Then someone finally came over to ask if I needed help. The lady who completed my process was nice but after telling her I havent been to the gym in over 5 years and this was my first time at edge I anticipated a tour at least. Nope. She signed me up and I walked around the gym aimlessly until my friend came in 30 minutes later. I was also supposed to get the fitpack but wasnt given any knowledge on it. I ended up calling them regarding it and once again the person I spoke to on the phone was as helpful as she could be. Im hoping the poor customer service in person was just a fluke that day and isnt something continuous. I am hesitant to go back, may try out another location.Update: They encourage you to email them with your concerns but then dont respond. After a second bad experience at the Edge Fitness I expressed no longer wanting to be a memeber and instead of address that they offer me a tour a month later and the fitpack assessment I should have received had I not had a bad experience again. This gym does not care about their customers and I will be contacting my bank first thing Monday morning.

I just left Cariann’s Zumba class! I love her class! She exudes positivity. You can tell she loves what she does. I have taken many Zumba classes, by far this has been my favorite!As for Edge Fitness, everyone there is genuinely kind and welcoming! It exceeds my expectations! So far so good 😊

Dirty gym! They have janitors but they miss the important stuff like sweat on treadmills and machines. Ewwww! It smells very bad too. Does anyone use deodorant anymore. I hate coming into the gym when it is busy and it is always busy which makes the smell worse. Very bad experience.

This club is bad for your health. They canceled a class that I attended on a regular basis, several minutes after the class was supposed to begin, and I wasnt the only one standing around waiting. Their response was that I should have pre registered on line for the class so they could have called me to let me know. So its the members responsibility to take more time out of their day to pre register for a class, and not the clubs responsibility to get a substitute? The response to this was that pre registration also lets them know if the class will be too full to accommodate everyone. Yeah, in their dreams. The classes have at most 5-6 attendees. You chip in right before you enter the class, so they already know which members attend and how many attend on a regular basis. This also gives them information on which instructors classes are not well attended so they can let them go. For wasting my time and not giving me a work out, the GM offered to show me how to use the pre registration process, or get the app on my phone, and then said someone should have been told about this process when I joined. He asked me who I talked to when I joined. Why, so he could put the blame on someone else? It was unbelievable! Then, for my trouble, he offered me a shake or time with a trainer. This is a sales pitch, not compensation for the member.When I asked to speak with someone else about my concerns, I was given the royal run around. Nobody returned my calls or email. They were either out of town, in a meeting, or gone early for the day. Edge does not value its members. Stay away.

Ive called the Bristol location several times within a span of 14 days to change my membership. Each time Im told the GM, John, was contacted. I received zero follow up, unless I called them. 3rd time I called, I spoke to the Training Manager, Nick, who stated hed follow up with me the following morning. Did he? Surprise. He didnt. So, I kept calling. Emails were supposedly sent to John, yet John clearly stated he never received any.FYI before signing up for a membership, I went online and read the reviews .Numerous people complained that the GM is a crook when it comes to membership cancellations/changes, yet I still signed up. Stupid me, I guess. THEYRE NOT JOKING!Initially, I called to cancel, but decided to change to the $10 membership .... This is why...In June, I visited the Bristol preview site. A nice salesman named Jack assisted me. He upsold the fact that the premium membership would allow me to work out in the exclusive womens section. Honestly, it doesnt bother me,at all, to work out in the same room as men. Im not even sure why women feel uncomfortable . *Note I didnt sign up for the $28 membership for this perk. *Anyways, I was told I can check out the Edge Fitness at the Manchester location since the Bristol gym didnt open to the end of August. Great. I did - I wanted to see what the womens section hype was all about.To my frustration, the womens section section ispacked with ab workout gear and tiny baby hand weights... I dont remember max dumbbell size; maybe 30lbs? 25lbs?As a woman who pushes/pulls heavy weight .... I was IRATE. Also, this womens section didnt have a barbell section... It had yoga mats though!The womens section, that Jack so wonderfully sold me, is a JOKE! Its humiliating to women who actually lift and arent ashamed of themselves!The funny part is... Both Nick and John were SO SURPRISED of my disatisfaction with the womens section, stating I was the first complaint and implying my complaint was meaningless (you know, because I was the first and only woman to complain. I must be irrational).Anyways, after consistently calling and following up, I finally received my cancellation email confirmation & $10.64 refund for the sign up fee .I know 3 others who are cancelling their memberships before the gym even opens because of garbage I had to go through. The Edge also lost a lot of potential business from collegues.
