For over 16 years I’ve been staying on the property that is now called Tail Waters Lodge. It is the only place I stay when I fly fish on the Southholston. I have stayed in all three of the original cabins many, many times! Under the ownership and management of Bruce and Paula Cote, The tail waters lodge has gone to the highest level of excellence!I recently stayed in their newest cabin called the Osprey with my wife. We both absolutely loved it! It is a luxurious cabin with everything you would need for the most relaxing and restful place to stay after a long day of fly fishing or hiking. The view of the Southholston River from the beautiful front deck is, I believe, the prettiest view on the river. Everything about the cabin was first class. The fireplace on the front deck is the perfect addition for watching the sunset while the fire is blazing!Bruce and Paula are absolutely wonderful host and will take care of your every need. They are like family to me now. If you want to stay at the best location with the best fishing check out tail waters lodge and especially the new cabins!

We found a home last minute that has recently been added to their list of places to stay. It was absolutely gorgeous! The South Holston was right down the hill from where we were staying so we could hear it when we were outside. Paula and her husband were so nice and helpful when we inquired about fishing in the area. We will definitely book with them again hopefully not last minute!

What a beautiful and peaceful place! Paula and Bruce are such wonderful hosts! The lodge is very clean, very close to South Holston River and South Holston Dam for fishing, boating, kayaking or even just walking/hiking.

I took a chance and booked 3 nights at pheasant tail to just get a break from city life and boy was I surprised at the peaceful surroundings and nice people I met. This place has everything a nature lover could ask for from great hiking, serenity and one of the most beautiful river in the south Holston a stones throw away. FWIW the river maintains a 49 to 52 degrees temp year round from timed releases from the Holston dam and us fishermen know that means big trout, real big. By the time I figured that out it was time to pack up and head back to Charlotte harbor. I’ll be heading back to tail waters soon to catch Walter !

Bruce and Paula are consummate hosts. New cabins on the ridge are nearing completion and they continue to make improvements on the existing cabins. If trout is your game, this is the place to stay when fishing the South Holston.

My son and I were fishing on the South Holston River and we were so lucky to find this gem of a place.We stayed in the Pheasant Tail cabin. It was very well equipped and VERY clean.Bruce and Paula were great hosts and very informative. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place, wonderful hosts and excellent fishing. Meets any needs from large groups to single fishermen. 1 minute drive to launch for floats on TVA property, and could walk if needed. Short walk to riverfront with cleared area for bank fishing and great wading when water level cooperates. Outdoor bonfires, wood supplied, and cooking areas. Highly recommend. Scott. Georgia.

Best cabin ever hiking and fishing

Excellent place to stay! We stayed in the Midge. It was perfect for our weekend getaway to do some fly fishing. Bruce and Paula were wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back.

Stayed in the Pheasant Tail cabin for a week in July with my husband, nephew and niece, and all 4 of us had an awesome time. Its a log cabin and well over 100 years old, yet had all modern amenities; big kitchen with all modern appliances, lots of seating in both the kitchen and living room, HVAC, large flat screen TV with cable, sleeping space for twelve, and a nice laundry room.We recommend that you take in the nature in lieu of the TV. The property is perched above the pristine South Holston River, one of the most beautiful and well managed trout rivers in the world. The property is also within walking distance of many public access areas along the river.We had coffee each morning on the back porch, and watched the hummingbirds, deer, and rabbits emerge from the surrounding forests, to the delight of temperatures in the 60s (were from famously hot Columbia, SC, so this was a wonderful break from the heat.)The kitchen and baths were well stocked; coffee, spices, pots, pans, dishes, TP/PT, shower supplies. We didnt need to pack nearly as much as we did.The owners came by daily to take away trash, fill the hummingbird feeder, and ask if we needed anything. Very nice to talk to and eager to make our stay the best it could be. Highly recommend for families, couples retreat, and fishing groups. Well be back for sure!

FANTASTIC! We took a big group of high school boys there for a fishing trip and we could not have been happier. The owners are incredible hosts! The cabins are very clean and comfortable. River access within 5 minutes in all directions. They also scheduled guided fly fishing float trips for us. Such an amazing experience! We will be back!

This is a wonderful place to stay, it is very clean and will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. The owners are extremely nice, they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
