I just moved to the area and it was a worry of mine to find a good barber. Look no further! I cant remember the name of the guy who cut my hair and trimmed my beard, but he did an INCREDIBLE job! He knew exactly what I wanted. I mean, so detailed and professional. My wife pointed out my beard trim looked awesome. For what you get, I feel that its priced well. I think the concept is neat too, even though I dont drink they had some good options for people that do. I will definitely go back here!

First time here, easy to make an appointment online and book. Ann did a great job, took her time, and was very friendly after a long week of work. Shop was busy which speaks for the quality of work they do and location was easy to get to from 75.

Greeted promptly and politely. Met in time for appointment. Offered a beverage. Layla was very polite and friendly, chatted a bit (but not too much), found out what I wanted, and took over from there. She did a great job, very soothing and relaxing experience, nice haircut, and not only trimmed my beard but had a game plan to shape it going forward. Really a nice experience all around. Will definitely be back.

Good haircut first time. Terrible haircut next time. Both times the cutting person (male; Im also male) was indifferent, lethargic, oozed a sentiment of Why are you bothering me with your stupid request for a cut? Cant you see Im busy texting my girlfriend?

VERY different experience from the one up on 70 in Lakewood! Barber did not say a single word during the entire cut. When I was explaining what I wanted (with a picture) I got cut off and he said “okay sounds good” while already starting. Sloppiest haircut I’ve ever gotten. Fly hairs everywhere after I took a shower afterwards. Just looks amateur for someone who the website states has decades of experience. Seemed more enthusiastic about pumping out clients then taking the time to get to know new ones. I will consider trying the Lakewood location again since I didn’t have a problem there but never this one again.

I’ve been to so many barbers and I can say this place is the best. Joe is my go to guy. He puts in the work and gives me exactly what I want every time. My hair style is a mid angular bald fade with a lot of hair on top. Not only is the fade precise, Joe is a stylist. I can also say, I’m very observant of the other barbers and their clients cuts. They all do amazing work and give their clients what they desire. I 110% recommend this place.

Great place to get a hair cut. I would just like to see the barbers be more upfront with their skills. If you are not good at doing a fade or particular style then express that to the customer. I think most of us would wait a little longer to get the right person.

First time at this barber shop and had a great experience. First off, having the bar to sit at while I wait was excellent. The house IPA was very good. My fade by Joe was on the money and it felt like I was back in NY. Great conversation, which I expected from a Cleveland native! Highly recommend him for a fade and highly recommend the location. It will be my go to going forward as we settled into the ranch.

Ive never had a bad experience at Modern Gents. They are always polite professional and courteous. Stop by fifteen minutes early and grab a beer in the back and relax. They have a rotating mix of craft on tap and domestic beers for those who are afraid to try new things.

I have visited several other barber shops in the UTC area. This barber shop is laid back and very professional. My cut was on point and my barber, Yusmanis Reconde, gave me the best cut I think I have ever had. I will definitely be going back!

This is only my second ever beard trim but Layla did a great job. Not only was the beard trim good, but she was very knowledgable and I came away feeling more educated about maintaining my beard. I would definitely recommend!

Been here a few times and tried different barbers. The older gentleman is very nice but wouldn’t recommend when it comes to a fade. It is a cool atmosphere and concept of the shop but a bit pricey. The complementary bottle of water or coffee and option of beer is a nice touch. Very kind “and attractive” staff. LEYLA is the best barber for fades.

Having just moved back to the area and with the lockdowns finally easing, I decided to give this business a try. I’m extremely glad I did. Deb got it perfect right out of the gate. On top of this, the environment is very relaxing and inviting. Give this stylist and this location a try. You won’t be disappointed.In addition, the staff all wore masks and they asked you to sanitize your hands when you arrive which was much appreciated. We need to keep our high risk population safe and they are doing their part.

Sherri has been one of, if not the best, barber I’ve been to, she is very personal, loves to talk and have a laugh or two, and is absolutely amazing for a cut or a shave, or both!! I would recommend Sherri as well as this Modern Gents location every time! Great service, friendly, and fun!

UPDATE: I read the response from one of the owners (below). I appreciate that he read and replied to my review. It means a lot and shows me that he cares a great deal about his business. I was then contacted by the manager of that location. He was very polite and sorry that I had a bad experience at his location. In all fairness I should have gone right back into the shop and let them know that I was unhappy with my trim and given them the opportunity to correct the mistake on the spot; I was mad a felt that it was best to not go back in. I declined their offer to come back and have it fixed by another barber, the damage is done. I gave them an additional star because they tried to help. Im sorry but I am not going to remove the pics or my review. End Of Update.First time visit to the Lakewood Ranch location; Ive been one time to the UTC location. Beautiful shop, both of them. 5 stars to the Shop itself. The staff is very nice and making an appointment is super easy. With that being said I have been growing my beard for a year now and I really try to take very good care of it. I had a shop in Jupiter Florida that I trusted to do trims every couple of months. I had an appointment yesterday 12/19/2018 at 10:40 with a barber. I was booked for a Straight Razor Beard Line-up/Trim ($18.00). Initially I was very pleased with my trim and even left the barber a $10 tip however when I got back in my truck I noticed that the right side of my mustache was cut past the corner of my mouth and was very thin in comparison to the the left side. Then as I brushed it out I noticed several long hairs that had not been cut to the same length as the rest. When I got home I noticed (when I raised my head in the mirror) that my neck hair was longer in length than the front beard hair and was hanging down considerably lower than the front of my beard.It is my opinion that if you are going to list yourselves as a Premier Barbershop then each and every one of the barbers should able to perform the service for which they are booked to the highest degree. If that barber is not comfortable with trimming beards then they should decline and recommend a barber that is more comfortable with the requested service.

After visiting Modern Gents for a hair cut and beard trim, I was unsatisfied with the end result. However, after expressing my concerns, Nick the owner of Modern Gents immediately reached out to me and wanted to know what my unsatisfied experience was.After what I would call a rather pleasurable conversation, Nick is obviously dedicated to having his customer base very happy with the entire experience from the outstanding decor to the quality of service.Not only did Nick refund the entire amount of the previous appointment, but extended a 50% discount on my next visit if I were to try Modern Gents again. Mind you, I never asked for either, Nick refused to take no for an answer.The important part of this conversation was not only his commitment, but his concern over who should have been my choice for my hair style as well as beard trimming. As a business owner myself, I understand having the right person for the right job. Everyone has a specialty in what they do well. Guys, if visiting Modern Gents for the first time, please ask your greeter for their recommendations regarding your needs. This will be extremely helpful in guiding you to the proper stylist and overall experience.In closing, I will certainly visit Modern Gents again to fully enjoy my next experience, as I am sure it will be much more pleasurable.Thank you Nick, your concerns for satisfaction are greatly appreciated.PSOnly reason for 4 stars and not 5 is solely because of my first visit. Great spot! Ive been coming to Modern Gents for a while now, I have a favorite but when hes not available the others are equal to the task. I no longer get worked up if my guys not available. Plus, if you make your appointment around happy hour (4pm to 6pm), you can enjoy 2 for 1 adult beverages. On that front, the selection is impressive.Check them out! Super chill and totally professional.Highly recommended!

I went in as a first time customer, been about two months since I got a haircut. They were able to fit me into the schedule, I sat down immediately with a very courteous gentlemen. Not even a minute into the cut he asked why my hair looked horrible, (it was, my previous barber did a horrible job) and in 30 minutes he completely transformed my hair into something clean and professional looking. I appreciate honesty in people. If my hair looks bad, I would rather be told than just pretend its fine. I cannot thank you guys enough, I have confidence in how good my hair looks and will definitely return for my next haircut. Great cut for a great price!

Ive been going to MGs for two years for beard trim and razor edge. Unfortunately, Ive had to change barbers four times since then. The first two relocated but were both great. The third, while a nice person was much too inconsistent. I was on the verge of moving on to different place altogether, but figured I would give them one more chance.Today I had an appt with Carolyn M., she was phenomenal. Carolyn cut both my sons hair (ages 13 and 6). My older son has crazy, tight, curly hair and she did an amazing job! First time to MGs. Met Mark and wow. I wanted to change up my regular haircut. A style I have always wanted to do. Not only was the experience great, but I dont remember a time within the last 6 years a haircut made me feel so good. Changing is never easy, but Mark absolutely nailed it! On top of that, it started off with a free sample of their IPA. Their atmosphere and barber have created a long term advocate! I recommend highly and will absolutely be coming back!

Hollis performed a hair cut and shave for my dad. My dad was very nervous, he has been on hospice, has a brain tumor and is blind on one side and very weak. It took two weeks to talk my dad into going. When my dad got back from the services with Hollis he toldMe that Hollis was perfect. My husband said that Hollis was so kind and helpful to my dad. My dads haircut and shave were on point ! Overall we were more than happy. Thank you Hollis !

This barbershop is awesome, the service is great, the haircuts are great and the vibe inside is refined and classy. I will definitely continue to use this place in the future and if you have your choice of barbers when you are there then I would highly recommend Sherri who is talented, warm, welcoming and absolutely my go to person. It may be more expensive than other shops in the area but in my opinion the experience justifies the pricing!

Modern Gents has a great atmosphere, that is obvious from the second you walk through the door. However, what stylists to choose might not be as obvious if youre new to this establishment. I feel very lucky to have found Sherry as my go to stylist. Shell be my go to stylist for as long as she wants to style my hair and beard. Hopefully forever. Great cut. They really listen to what you want and only finish when you are completely satisfied. Nice to have the hot towel too. How can you go wrong by finishing it with a beer at the bar?

My son and husband LOVE going here. They are always treated like royalty and are given a great cut. They only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it is rather pricey. I wish they had a rewards program or something that would make the more you go a monetary benefit. It there was, my husband would go there more often. We are excited to see them come to Lakewood Ranch as they are opening another location there soon.

Good place for a haircut with cool concept. My only complaint is the lady at the desk quickly mentioned an extra straight blade trim option and automatically added it to my ticket before i said I do not want this trim because I could see she had added it without my consent. And no, it was not a misunderstanding, just trying to up-charge. 2-stars for the receptionist and 5-stars for the barber.

Im visiting from Florida and was recommended this place by a local. Very good pizza and service. Reminds me of the pizza in Italy. Ill definitely be back when Im back in town.

I won’t be back! Made an appointment for the presidential and went with a barber that had quite a bit of availability (should of been a red flag) it’s listed at taking 45 minutes but the Barber was done in 15 minutes. I have long stray hairs on the sides where I had asked for a number 1. The only positive I can say is the nice lady at the front desk offered to shampoo my hair because the barber I guess didn’t realize it was included in the presidential. Honestly could of got a better cut at one of the hair cut chains for half the price.

I regularly see barbers, been coast to coast and all through the middle, this place is a hidden gem, outstanding customer service, great barbers, the shop is modern and yeah, there is a bar in the back.But for it to be so classy, it has to cost an arm, leg, and be reserved for special occasions... Nope. I got this beard trim, a pint of craft beer, and tossed in 20% as a tip and it was still less than just a trim at any other decent barber in the area.

This is a place that does everything right. From the second I walked in I knew my experience was going to be great. Firstly at my first appointment, the receptionist knew my name and sent me to the bar while my stylist finished her appointment. I had great engaging conversation with Colby while waiting and enjoyed an excellent selection of draft beers. Sherri did an incredible job cutting my hair and even stayed 20 minutes past close to make sure that everything was done correctly and no hair was left out of place. This is such a quality establishment and I can’t recommend it enough!

Took my son on his birthday to get a hair cut the guy who cut my son hair was so rude to my 8 year old had a problem if my son move a bit even told my son he does not like to cut kids hair made face of dislike on my son he should not be working with young kids at all the hair cut was not great had to pay another person to fix what he did.
