I called several shops looking for somewhere to work on my truck and several shops did not want to do the job. Called mikes off road and scheduled for an appointment. They had originally said a week to do the job, they completed my truck in just 3 days and were right on with there estimate. The work they did was fantastic and I’m extremely happy with how my truck turned out. I highly recommend Mikes off road, they did great work and communicated very well. Will be the first shop I call for future work.
Good service, had the parts I needed.
Great guys. A close group of friends all working together makes for good service at a decent price.
Glad I found these fellas. They can clearly do a lot but I needed them badly for a custom headlight install/wiring and without them, Id probably be running around with little to no lighting!!They even reached out to the headlight makers and talked with their support team quite a bit and made the best out of a troubled situation I was in. Mucho appreciation fellas and Ill be coming back whenever I need a little something added or fixed that I f up!!!
Mikes Off Road has been very courteous, professional, and caring about my situation. I would highly recommend them and I will gladly be doing business with them again.
1 year review after ARB locker installed.... I work alot and usually have more money than I do time. So on big ticket items I splurge and pay someone else for their expertise. I recently decided I wanted to add an air hose to my setup. After figuring out what was needed I started to REALLY look at my ARB wiring and install. Like I said I work alot and dont have much time to play... let alone double check a shops work. When I looked closer at the detail of the work I was extremely disappointed.. Does it work, yes. But seeing feably attempted wire crimps, limp electrical tape coverings, cross threaded bolts, improvised non ARB attachments, overtightened pressure switch and wire routing management done apparently in the dark. It was time for me to take a full day of my time and more money to fix what I had paid them to accomplish. I had some other drive train work completed there also during the ARB install, I made it about 40 miles down the road then needed a wrecker to haul it back to Mikes. They paid for the wrecker and fixed again what they had fixed before at no charge. The folks were great to work with and professional and had outstanding customer service. My observation and opinion is quality assurance and supervision oversight may have been lacking on some of the more novice installers/mechanics. Would I use them again in the future??? Let me think on that after I finish this reinstall project.
I had Mikes Off Road install air bags on my 2013 Ford F150 as I always had problems of how much the pickup squats pulling a heavy load. They were very easy to work with and after the install spent the time to go over all the remote functions. A+ job and highly recommend for any 4x4 accessory installs in the Gallatin Valley.
I had a great experience with these gentlemen. I came in with my modest LS style Blazer, modest compared to the rock crawlers and big trucks these guys would probably rather work on. I wanted a grill guard and lights put on it. They helped me find a nice grill guard, and I had looked and looked and couldnt find one that would fit it. They took the time to put extra plates and bolts on my grill guard to attach it better to my bumper and I didnt even ask them to. It was a pleasant surprise. They explained things as they went. I needed the guard adjusted a bit and they were polite about doing that and didnt charge me for it. I recommend this shop for sure.
Sunday giggles - years back (2010) on one of our road trips (MT) we needed to turn around so what do I do? but a hold my beer moment lol drove up this embankment filled with grante cut my tire down the lock was at home (aaa had to come break it) and we were hours from anywhere with a mismatched spare we were told that a correct sized spare was two weeks out had to be shipped from Portland OR lol so on the way to a major town 5 hours in the oppisite direction we stumbled upon Mikes and he saved the day!
I made an appointment here to have my truck looked over before I drove it across the country. It had a lot of miles and hadn’t been checked over in a while. These guys were extremely honest and ended up charging me less than they quoted. They ended up having to replace a bearing and were able to do it that day. I made it 2400 miles pulling a trailer with no issues at all, and the questionable sounds my truck had been making prior to the inspection had disappeared. 10/10 service!
I have had Mikes Off Road work on four different trucks over the past 8 years. They have always done a great job for me, have been on time and on price. I will continue to take my vehicles to Mikes for the foreseeable future.
Mikes Offroad did a fantastic job on a body-mount chop to enable less rubbing with larger off-road tires...clean, great welds, and it only took a day! Well done MOR! Looking forward to more fun with you!
STAY AWAY FROM HERE & GO ANYWHERE ELSE!If you remove any stock parts for custom parts they will automatically keep and sell your parts without asking if youd like to keep your parts. They keep the money for your parts of course with no discount applied to your bill either. Extremely dishonest and obviously they’ve had lots of practice lying to customers. They over charge no matter what the job. They take incredibly long to finish basic work which costs the customer unnecessarily more money for labor. Theyre trying to do everything now instead of sticking to a specialty. Dont expect them to follow up with you or return any type of correspondence. If you list or request things to be done on your vehicle, dont be surprised when they dont complete all requests or they do what THEY want to do instead without verifying with the customer first. They will also test drive your vehicle even for a job that doesnt need a road test. If I broke down in front of this place I still wouldnt go to them and Id call for a tow.
Nice guys easy to work with
This is probably the best Mechanical and accessory shop for 100 miles
Called all around Bozeman to find a shop for emergency fix. No one wanted my business, Mike’s off road, super busy, booked for a couple of weeks, got me in and out super fast! First class!
David and the guys at Mikes off road did outstanding work on my 1979 Bronco. They really know their stuff. If you need work on you 4x4 these are the guys to go to. They are busy so you may have to be patient. But they will do the work right.Hats off to Mikes off road.
This is a specialized shop. Not a place for the family car.Staff is nice and professional and they know the field they are in.Would be a 4-5 star if we were rating professional off road place. But this is a general auto as well.
Great work, friendly folks, dogs, truck parts..... What More could a person want??I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!!!
Great family business with people who truely love what they do. They will help you out when no one else will, and if you are not satisfied for whatever reason, Mike’s Off Road will always try to go the full length to satisfy the customer. Mikes off road is Stocked with a full show room so you can swing by and grab what you need, but they can also order anything youd like if it wasn’t in stock. The 22 years of experience at Mike’s goes a long ways!
Amazing group guys very knowledgeable and a expert with a dyno
Terrible fist experience. They said it would be a week to preform the work. I called in a week and they had not touched the truck and had lost the keys! I was getting the work done before a big trip. Luckily I found someone that could do the work in one day. I guess Bozeman is big enough now that you can be busy and not provide any customer service. Fortunately it is also big enough that there are many other place I can go to get my truck worked on that do provide customer service. M&W, Diesel Pro....and more.
Tried to get a quote on lift kit, wheels, and tires for my truck. Assured me they would call back with options and pricing, but never did. Not going to chase them down to spend over $5,000 with them. Go elsewhere.
Called to price some parts, and install prices.Shocks set of 4 $325 online and thats t high side. Mikes $585. Install $300. Bozeman is getting taxed by these companys, go elsewhere
Best place to take your rig for work!
Great place, and great people.
Not only did I have to drive back on a highway(only route), after they refused to align my suspension(after putting a new OME lift on it, and they said they would align it when I dropped it off, but waited until 3pm when they finished installing to call and tell me they wouldnt align it), but when I looked in my vehicle, they had gone through EVERYTHING. This includes them removing the cap, and puncturing an epoxy resin container. Now I have several hundred dollars worth of damage to my trunk area carpet, a trauma medical bag, and other items in my trunk. If this wasnt bad enough, they took the same gloves(or hands), they used to handle the epoxy(my epoxy), and smeared it all over the leather in my front row, which if I cannot successfully clean, will be over a thousand in damage.Upon checking out, they refused to lower the cost more than 90$ for an alignment. If they charge 90$ for an alignment, but wont do mine after they said they would, and screwing me over in massive tire wear among other issues, they should be deducting from the charge what itd cost to be done at another shop in town(150), but when bringing this up, they made ridiculous excuses, and then tried to spit it in my face.Upon further going and checking my wheels, my meter maxes out at 250lb/ft, which is at least what they torqued all my lug nuts to, despite Jeeps official recommendation being 100lb/ft. This makes me question if they over-torqued my suspension bolts as well, and questioning the possibility of them damaging threading, or seals from this.DO NOT GIVE THIS SHOP YOUR BUSINESS.
Great people
Great advice and good customer service!
Expensive as hell, took way too long to do the project given.
