Great route setting. There was a great diversity of style and grading. All of the routes were authentically hard, not difficult because they were awkward. Everyone was very nice as well!

Overall a decent climbing gym (3 star compared to Seattle Bouldering Project or other top tier gyms). Grades are a little all over the place (5 dot system, but a 3- feels equivalent to a V0, so they only use half of their scale). The walls types are overhang dominated (they have maybe 2 small slab sections that dont get any love from the setters). The setting is its main redeeming quality and has been great so far. Culture-wise, maybe a little bro-y; significantly more male dominated than BRC. S&C is definitely nicer at BRC, but they do have all the essentials.

The spot is nothing short of amazing, however they need to do a set where there are no holds at the top of the font Boulder. Make things a little more interesting... Maybe for highballs and highlines..

Ive been climbing here for 6 years as of 2017, and it never gets old. The routes change regularly, and the setters always show great creativity. I also love the height of the bouldering walls. Good selection of workout equipment as well. The one minor critique I have is that the locker room could use some better ventilation (and getting rid of the carpet would be great), but its not a big deal. Overall Im a huge fan.

The Spot is an awesome Bouldering Gym! They have something for all skill levels there. Ive been going to the Spot for well over 6 years and always feel challenged when I walk in the door. Their route setters are top notch and always keep you guessing on whats coming next. They have a permanent slack line set up in the back of the gym to warm up your balance and coordination and have all the weights necessary to get your heart rate up up before you start climbing. Not only do they have awesome climbing but they also have beer on tap!

One of my favorite places in Boulder. I joined this gym a few years ago not knowing how to climb at all and am still going regularly. They have gained pads up to your knees that can absorb any fall and new routes each week.

I believe the Spot has the best setting in Boulder. While the facility may not be new and shiny, it more than makes up for it by having a strong sense of community. I have met so many genuine, passionate climbers at the Spot and every time I go climbing I am blown away by the supportive, friendly atmosphere. The staff always make an effort to get to know their members and their customer service always exceeds my expectations. The Spot definitely feels like a home away from home to me.

The Spot is a great gym. The staff are friendly and they change the routes often enough to keep things interesting. It is mainly a bouldering gym but there is a wall with some auto-belay systems, although Ive never seen anyone use them. They have a gym upstairs with a few machines, some free weights, and a squat rack. They also have classes and exercises that are free for members.

Caution to those with respiratory issues! This is not the gym for you. When I checked out this gym a few nights ago, I could actually see the haze of dust in the air, and by next morning I was sucking on my inhaler. Aside from the chalk, the place is unfortunately just grimy.Apart from cleanliness and air quality issues, it is fine. There are a ton of problems, some better marked than others. Like many bouldering gyms, more of their space is dedicated to overhang and problems V4 and higher. There are fewer options for V1-V3 or for vertical or slab problems, though theres still enough to keep one busy. Setting in the V1-V3 range wasnt particularly imaginative, but I did find a few interesting challenges. A lot of the V4 and up problems looked really fun.

The staff here is excellent. Its at an awkward stage now, where I dont know if were all best friends, or if they just take their jobs dead seriously. - Truly, they keep me coming back. The Spot has been an excellent way for me to build my strength/technique over the winter.Plenty of walls, good tunes, a slackline set, unique grip training area, weights included. If you want to take on all levels of Bouldering... The Spot is the place to go. The prices are generally good, with frequent discounts on, say, Friday afternoons.Usually its not too crowded to enjoy, and the routes are changed weekly - so if you master a route one week, you can come back and it will have changed quite significantly!

Good routes even for beginners or those who havent climbed in a while. They are pretty expensive if you are a university student the CU climbing gym is a better deal unless you are a super serious climber. The current 4.8 rating seems inflated. Its a small gym lacking variety: only overhangs and a few vertical routes. No positive routes, no volumes, no balance routes. The campus and fitness section is outright poor, even basics like a decent pull-up bar are missing.Non-standard grading system and tape-coded routes instead of colour-coded holds.Front desk was staffed with three people, all of them ignoring us for minutes.
