The good parts: you get to visit a couple of really old cemeteries at night. The view from Cobbs Hill cemetery is amazing, and some of the facts about the graveyards are pretty interesting. Our guide was pretty funny. The bad parts: there is 0 element of fear. Our guide tried too hard to be funny. Of the two guides, one of them literally did nothing during the entire trip. While some of the facts mentioned during the trip are interesting, most of the stories arent. They are way too loosely connected with the places you are driving through. The bus has large windows and it gets pretty windy---factors which make hearing the guide really hard.During the trip, you just get to see two graveyards, and then drive around Boston hearing some fables. Is it worth nearly $45 per person? I dont think so.You can try out Ghosts and Gravestones. Some parts are fun. But if you decide to skip it, you wont miss out on much.

I was so excited for this tour, as Id heard great things. Unfortunately, I think we got the JV squad. Our tour guides broke character, and seemed to be making most of the information up. They didnt tell us anything we might have heard of, or any relevant information, just random stories that seemed unbelievable. I was hoping for some stories about places that may be Haunted, but we drove around for 90 minutes, only to stop at two graveyards that were across the street from one another. Nothing spooky or scary at all, just make believe. Very disappointed.

It was pouring. They should have cancelled the tour. The buses windows were steamed up so badly that it looked like the driver could hardly see. The bus has no seat belts. They stopped at a grave and made us stand in the pouring rain. It was so bad that the cheap umbrella that I had was leaking. Several people on the tour had no rain gear whatsoever. People were getting soaked during a relatively chilly night for a summer. All of this during a raging pandemic. The recklessness is remarkable. Driving customers through the rain in a bus without seatbelts disregarding their safety is bad enough. Add to that they expected people to stand in the rain on a chilly night during a raging pandemic. This type of situation is a lawsuit waiting to happen.Ill add that the tour guide was telling us, half joking, that she hated us all as she stood in the rain with no rain gear or umbrella. They also forced their bus driver to drive in unsafe conditions. To expect employees to risk their safety is unconscionable. To risk the safety of customers is unethical to say the least.I am sure this is a great tour when its dry. Most businesses have a rain policy. For this outfit not to have a rain policy and refund peoples money when conditions are so bad boggles the mind.

This is a great tour and I would highly recommend it. We did this a couple of years ago for my daughter and had a great time, so we decided to do it again this year for my younger daughter and her friends. There was a mishap with our bus and the remainder of the tour was rushed and cut short. We had a group of 8 and felt we didnt get our moneys worth. Very disappointing. We were so impressed by Stella. She is a great story teller and she handled the the mishap very well.

The tour guide and bus driver were nice. The marketing needs updating. I thought we would be on a walking tour, not a trolly. The trolly was a pretty awful ride, with 80% of the tour time spent on it, where our guide was clearly reciting a memorized script...and not very well. The other 20%, we were in a small cemetery. Our tour guide was telling us a story when another G&G tour group leader said THIS IS WHY I DONT TELL STORIES IN FRONT OF THE GATE and proceeded to lead his group in, past ours, as we stood there in silence and watched them enter. He was really rude to our tour guide, and yes, they were two sister tour guides on the same company running the same tour at the same time. The trolley actually sort of smelled like B.O., I think it was in the fabric/characters. Good try, and I feel bad for your stff, who are trying really hard.

We saw this on a brochure and we we wanted to check this out and it didn’t disappoint. You go to two graveyards and they make sure everyone is distancing from each other. It’s very informative and interesting to hear all the stories of the graveyards. If you brought a kid it would be perfect it isn’t that scary it’s more of listening to the stories of everything. If I came back to Boston I would probably come back to do this.

Our graveyard tour was the highlight of the trip for me. We got a great mix of cool history and spooky stories, and they couldnt have been done greater justice than by our guide Dotty Mayham. We were excited to go on this tour. It was in the middle of a heatwave and thought going out at night would be great. I enjoyed our guide Gertrude, but we had no warning that the first trolly stop required us to walk an extremely steep hill for a block. It was still warm out. I have a severe hip condition and my husband has trouble since he has a heart condition. The ticket booths or online description should warn people, this very much dampened our trip.

Review №50

We were looking to end a 2 week northeast adventure with something fun & unique that didn’t involve anymore walking during the heat wave. After reading rave reviews of this tour we were excited to learn about some spooky Boston history!•EXPERIENCE:Sadly our experience didn’t match up to the hype but mainly due to our guide, not the tour itself. We weren’t able to catch his name as it was VERY difficult to hear what he was saying even after turning up his microphone when others on the bus complained. He repeated stories or questions a few times after loosing his place & generally seemed to be having a bad night and wasn’t into the whole experience.During our 2nd graveyard stop another actor (Atticus) stepped in & was instantly engaging, hilarious, and easily heard by everyone. He was by far the best part of our tour & received the most spirited thanx from our fully packed bus as we left him behind. As we drove back to the north end we’re asked to scream at people on the street….which feels like being forced into promotion for a tour thats not really about being scared (we knew this going in so no disappointment there).•VALUE:The bus drove around the same 3-4 city blocks, parking in the same location each time for our walk to the 2 graveyards.I understand the need to space things out with multiple buses going at once….but it was a bit odd to not see anything we wouldn’t see walking around downtown (besides the pathways of pitch black chained-gate graveyards).I can also appreciate $5 of tix goes toward conserving historic graveyards…However, judging by the # of packed buses operated by this company that we saw during our time in Boston (including ours) they’re quite busy.Much busier than the MANY tours we did throughout our trip including historic mansions & houses, gardens, boat & food tours. All of which lasted much longer and were A LOT cheaper…we bought a membership to a Historical Society allowing entry to multiple mansions & acres of high maintenance gardens for less than the total for both of us to go on this 90 minute tour. That said, tourism tax is subjective so had the guide been more engaging or fun & had we been able to hear more of what he said we likely wouldn’t have felt the value was so poorly out of line.•NAIL IN DISAPPOINTMENT COFFIN ⚰️ :Our guide ended the drive with a bit meant to urge everyone to leave a tip…so although we didn’t have anything smaller than a $20 we didn’t wanna feel like jerks while disembarking - which just added to the sting of the whole experience.

This was a fun, fairly informative, and entertaining trip. The ghosts that lead you on the tour are funny, quick-witted, and know their stuff.Youll stop at two of the better known ancient graveyards in Boston, and theyll talk about the history of the yards themselves, and some of the people in them. We went on a cool summer evening, everybody on the bus was kept at a reasonable distance ( summer 2020 when social distancing protocols were in place), and the ride through town was informative and very nice itself.Dont let the title scare you, even young children wont be scared on this tour. families with younger kids could very easily do the earlier tour and not be worried about the kids coming back scared out of their wits.

If you ever wanted to take a tour of Bostons centuries-old cemeteries at night and in the dark, well, heres your chance. Not necessary, but if youre unfamiliar with American history, especially about the American Revolution, I dont know how much youd get out of this. The names mentioned probably wont mean anything to you. But those of us who grew up with this stuff, it was neat hearing stories about American icons that they didnt teach us in schools. If you have mobility issues I dont think this is a tour for you. Theres some walking on uneven paths, up and down stairs, and did I mention that it was in the dark? So if youre looking for something cool to do thats out of the ordinary, then check this out.

The best thing we did in Boston! Our tour guide, Jonathon, was an incredible actor and gifted at improv - we laughed so hard. The trolley goes around town and they tell stories, stopping to walk through some of the most historical graveyards at night - we were the only ones in there - because they contribute part of the ticket revenue toward the upkeep of these historical cemeteries.PLUS the start point is literally right next to a T stop so, in the cold, it was very convenient to get to.Totally worth it - couldn’t recommend it more.

Like a lot of people, I really love spooky things. I also love history and a good fun fact is the ticket to my heart. I give two stars for the couple of fun facts thrown out there and the energy and passion of the tour guides. I think this tour would be good for parents with younger kids who want them to have some spookiness, but nothing that will be everlastingly scary. You visit two graveyards and it’s good history about the deaths of famous Bostonians, but that’s really it. The guides love their job and get into it but it’s pretty cheesy, even for me. Normally I would just not review this but the price was $40 per ticket which is a bit too high for what it is. Drink some pumpkin beer instead or go to Salem for some good old fashioned Halloween spook.
