A recruiter contacted me regarding a developer position for a client that was a major beauty retailer. One of the main technologies the client was using was Storyline, however when I told the recruiter I have no experience with Storyline she said it didnt matter and they were looking for someone who was more focused in front-end development. So I decided to pursue. A few days later the recruiter said the client was interested and they wanted to move fast on finding someone for the position. She asked if she could send me the clients test to see how well I was at Storyline. When I reminded the client I have no experience with Storyline, she said it didnt matter and the client wanted me to see how fast I could learn it.Basically they wanted me to create about 4 slides (from scratch, no templates) and one interactive slide using text and images researched on their website. Additionally, in the description of the test they clearly stated they were looking for someone who is a pro at Storyline.I contacted the recruiter to see if I could at least have a quick phone interview with the client before starting the test (which seems like a lot of investment to learn a new technology without even having a phone interview with the client first. Each time I talk with the recruiters she gives an excuse as to why she hasnt confirmed a phone call with the client yet (client hasnt returned her call, client is out of office, client it sick). It seems very sketchy at this point. So Im planning on not reaching out to the recruiter again. If the recruiter gets back to me sometime in the future and is able to set up a phone call with the client before I start learning Storyline and take the test Ill update this review. But if there is no update, you can assume that the recruiter never got back to me on this and that there was no phone call with the client.I hope this helps everyone!
Have to say that I love Lola at Aquent. She always find the best freelance fit for me and looks out for my best interests. Shes also fun to work with and on top of her game. Couldnt ask for more!
Becky Morrissey DOES what other recruiters just say they do, she works to make you happy with your assignment. Aquent also really DOES keep your profile and look for assignments for you if one doesnt work out--amazing! Im so pleased with Aquent!
Ive been working with Aquent for quite a few years now and have been beyond happy with all of my experiences. Each of the recruiters Ive worked with take the time to get to know me, and exactly what Im looking for. No need to worry about interviewing with the right position, they make sure you are lined up. They take the time to understand your needs and who youd do well working with. Right now, I have the pleasure of working with Ilana Black in the Chicago office and she is beyond a superstar! Shes lined me up with several projects with clients I am thrilled with!
I had a very positive experience working with Luisiana Cruz at Aquent. While working with her, I got the impression that Aquent truly cares about making sure talent and clients are a mutual fit and that there are no surprises along the way. I look forward to seeing what the future holds as we continue to work together.
