Got my haircut by Gina today at lunch and she’s honestly the best. She was right on time and super friendly. I always get super awkward with people cutting my hair, but Gina was so chill I had no problem talking it out. The final product was pretty tight; my coworkers commented on it the second I got back to the office. GINA’S THE BEST!

Booked an appointment well ahead of time with one of their profiled barbers. I stopped in 30 mins early to check my appointment was all set since I drove 40 for this place and it was fine. Saw my barber and asked if I was booked and confirmed the spot, took cash out for the cut. Came in and the barber left the shop right after I came in and said nothing to me. was left hanging and I couldn’t get a cut from anyone else. Wasted my time and now I have to show up to an even looking rough. Paid $20 in parking too. This spot was supposed to be top tier, not so much

Had a long wait despite having made an appointment before. After waiting the service was good.

AVOID GINA. We had a slight miscommunication but it wasnt a big deal in the grand scheme of things - hair does grow back. However, her attitude when I asked her about it became one of contempt. She was upset at me that that our miscommunication did not lead to the desired haircut for me. Her attitude was completely unprofessional.

I do not recommend this hairdresser to anyone, I hired a service that I requested and they gave me another. I also asked for a haircut and got another one. It is a place that does not demonstrate the professionalism of this sector

Very unimpressed with my barber Chris. He didn’t say a single word to me for 30 mins. I told him I just wanted a slight trim on the top and he took off about an inch before asking me how much I wanted cut. I’ve been growing my hair out for a few months and planned on keeping the top long. I’ve gotten better haircuts from Supercuts.

I regularly go to this place due to the friendly staff and the quality of their service. It was so relaxing while the barber doing your haircut. You can feel that hes a real pro when it comes to haircutting. Awesome service!

I probably dont have enough superlatives to describe this place, consistently a great experience. One thing I would recommend is be specific as to how you want your hair cut, because they are very attentive and want to hear from you. Having the option to have the same person cut your hair each time is really nice but they are all excellent at their job. Highly recommend!

Amazing people! My child has brain cancer and they were so so supportive with shaving his hair. They sanitized everything twice for us and were just so caring! It was such an amazing experience! Thankyou :) Good people still exist in this world!

This is MY shop. Ive tried a couple others in the area but I regretted it. Boston Barber Co has a great vibe, a cool shop and, most importantly, talented barbers.

Finally! A great barbershop. I relocated to the Boston area over the summer & have struggled to find a decent barber. Either they didnt know what they were doing or they were way too expensive or they were too busy & always made me wait way too long — or some combination of the above. But Ive had my hair cut at Boston Barber Co. Beacon Hill by both Benny & Steve, & they are both extremely talented & professional. The shop is a great spot — its lively with a super team & great customers & totally unpretentious (unlike some other, similarly marketed shops in Boston can be, as I have found out). Heres the thing: If youre truly cool, you dont have to TRY to be cool — you just are, it comes naturally, & the customer knows it. There are other, hipster barbershops (Im thinking of one in Fenway in particular — one that is way too busy, way too boisterous, & way too expensive) that have all the bells & whistles & the right marketing but none of the soul. Youve either got it or you dont, & this place has got it. It is totally inconvenient to where I live & a struggle to find parking nearby, but you know what? I will happily go through the extra effort to do business w/ these guys, they are THAT good. If youre looking for a great spot, look no further.

Ive been getting my hair cut here for close to two years. Always a great cut, good conversation, and friendly staff. A few things to consider: 1) This place is cash only. They have an ATM in the shop. 2) No appointments. First come, first serve. It could be a little wait if you want to see a specific barber.

They cut the back of my neck 2 times when shaving my neck hair. I also noticed some stragglers after getting a buzz cut (long hairs randomly left over). I would definitely go to the other location on Salem street as Ive had 3 cuts at the that location and those were much better. The staff was more friendly and personable too.

Moved to Boston from out of town and have been coming to this place for the last 3 years. Almost always walk out with fantastic cut. It can get busy, so be prepared to wait a little. Cash only is lame, but a very minor inconvenience.

Great stylists, but I have to knock them on customer service. You can’t make appointments, and the wait is done by stylist, so if you have a preference for a particular person you might easily wait more than an hour. The stylists all have different and inconsistent schedules. Overall a good haircut but probably worth going elsewhere if you’re busy.

This place is awesome. Everyone in there is great. I enjoy my time in there. It has like a home barber shop feeling if you you know what I mean. They take their time and get it done right. I am military and I recommend this place to everyone in the service as well. Their fades are on point.

I just left the Boston Barber. and I must say for a Black Man looking for a Nice Hair I was not impressed at all. I left with a line up because she didnt know how to take it even lower also being the only brother made me feel so out of place sure to say I wont be back. Ps the line up was just ok.

Cash only, always crowded with students and Beacon Hill suits even when I go outside lunchtime hours. (Theyre expanding the space very soon, though!) Welcoming and friendly service, great haircuts, reasonable prices. Lots of spirited ribbing between barbers means you dont have to talk much if you dont want to. A comfortable and safe place for a woman to get a mens haircut with zero fuss, zero weirdness. Go here if you want a huge upgrade in quality from SuperCuts, but dont want to pay $80 for a high fade. Theres an ATM inside if you forget to bring cash.

I was there for a walk-in appointment [regular haircut]. A young lady was my stylist. She was sick (flu/cold) and did not have enough energy to even stand on her feet. I was generally happy about my haircut. However, I wanted to get out of that seat asap since I did not want to get sick. Why would you go to work if you are sick? especially for a job like a stylist. Second, I was hesitant to push her fix a few things as I did not want to bother her very much.I felt other stylists were more energetic and patient compared to my stylist...

The crew at Boston Barber are hilarious! Besides getting a good cut, the entertainment value it worth it. The barbers there are all good - Benny does a great job making sure his staff arent hacks.

The haircut was pretty good and clean-cut all around, except for the fact that my cowlick in the back got chopped off and stood on end for about a week after. Giving three stars because my haircutter didnt say a word to me during the cut, except to remark at the end when I asked him to make an adjustment that took him 3 minutes, Oh, I didnt know you wanted two haircuts buddy, and also rushed through the cut. The other staff seemed pretty friendly though, so I would update my rating if I received a better cut and friendlier service from another stylist.

Its nice to actually look forward to getting a haircut. Everyone in the shop is friendly and funny, if a bit off-color occasionally, and always good for an interesting conversation while they work.Also, as a bearded gent, I highly recommend this place over basically anywhere else Ive been. A trim at every other barbershop has me walking out with half of my beard missing, or looking worse than before. Here Im always happy with the end result!

I have been looking for a consistent place to to get my hair cut for a while. Finally Ive found it at Boston Barber. Just had my 4th visit today before reviewing.Working in downtown Ive paid as much as 60 dollars for a hair cut. Ive had apt where I dont get seen for over a half hour past my appointment time. NEVER AGAIN. Boston barber Co is democratic, you sign in when you get there, and are seen by the first available barber or your preferred choice. Their staff is friendly but straight forward and honest. I cant suggest this shop enough especially if youre sick of the over priced run around you get every where else downtown. My personal suggestion is Azad. Dude is a master of his craft and you dont feel that pressure for small talk. Dude will ask you how you day was and then gets to work. Finally I can get an affordable cut with respect to my time from a talented barber. This place rocks

I would only recommend this place if youre in a hurry and need something quick and convenient downtown. Easily one of the worst haircuts Ive ever received, although when it only take about six minutes I guess thats to be expected. I looked in a mirror this morning after showering and tried to style my hair the way I usually do and the length is inconsistent, I have long hair on the right side of my head while the left is shorter. Im in Boston on business so I wont be able to clean it up myself till the end of the week. Just hoping I can hide in a cube until then.

I started off going to the North End location which was awesome, but then later found out they have one in beacon hill(a little closer for me). Both shops are hands down the best barbers I have been to. They know customer service and haircuts. Both shops look great inside and out. I am jealous of the owner for having such great shops and employees. Shout out to Taylor for giving me a proper fade today and all the other mates. Keep up the great work, doing Boston and the Barber game proud.

Walk-in from out of town and they got me in within five minutes. Azad did a really good job on my cut and hot lather straight razor shave. My wife said she liked how I looked, so I guess that is good enough for me.

This place is on point, I’ve been going here for alittle over a year now and I’ve never had a bad experience! This place is walk ins and cash only. The wait can be a bit extensive if you are waiting for a specific barber, but trust me it’s worth the wait. Do yourself a favor and check out one of the two Boston barber location in the city.

One of the best Barber Shops I’ve ever been too. I received the best cut I’ve ever had, the shop itself is really cool, and all the barbers are amazing. You’re doing yourself a disservice by going anywhere else for a cut.

Very nice place to get a quick haircut. Although there were 5 people waiting before me it only took 15 mins for my turn. There are 7 barbers working at the same time. The lady who cut my hair was very quick and perfect. She cut my hair in 15 mins and I am very happy with the haircut. The only drawback of this place is that they only accept cash no cards. But they do have an atm machine in there. I would definitely recommend this place.

Had to stop in today for a cut because I had no time to go to my normal shop, a cardinal sin, and I paid for it. I request a low fade, this shouldn’t be confusing or difficult to perform. But as in my years of getting fades starting in the Marines....up until now, I could tell when the fade began that it would not be low.Barber kept fading higher and higher, using plastic guards bumping constantly into my head. Like a Supercuts cut. At least there aren’t any lines in the fade, 2 stars.On the list of the top 5 worst haircuts I’ve received. Unforgettable.

I have been a frequent customer at Boston Barber Co. and usually have a great experience but yesterday I was disappointed with the service. I had my haircut today by Sarah and she was rude from the start. When I walked in the door she asked if I was waiting for anyone and I replied, no. She asked what I wanted done and I started to say my beard and before I could go on she interrupted me with an attitude and she said, thats it? I continued to say I also wanted a haircut and she said, lets focus on the hair for now and worry about the beard later. As she was cutting my hair I asked if I could have my hair faded into the top part and she replied with an attitude, I havent even stated yet. As she started to do my beard with the chair halfway back all of a sudden she decided she will just finish it with the chair straight up which gave me the impression she didnt know what she was doing. Overall my haircut was uneven and the top of my head was cut too short even though I expressed I only wanted a little off the top. I wasnt so much disappointed with the haircut as I was with the service and the attitude. Usually I have a good experience at the Boston Barber Co. and maybe Sarah was having a bad day but I was very disappointed with yesterdays service.
