This is the place! And I know I cannot be the only person driving an hour just to get a haircut from Freddy. Incredibly talented, great styling.I get a fade done like no other. Keep up the good work Freddy.
Great customers service, didnt wait cause Ive booked a date. Process got done in perfect timing. Cut is on point definitely will recommended.
Got my First Haircut in Boston. I am very picky about the barber and went to the same place for last 8 years until I finally moved here. After looking up a few places online, I finally decided to walk in to the Sullys Barber Shop. The place is run by single person named Freddy. Freddy is a friendly person and keeps the good vibe in this place. I had to wait for about half hour until my turn, but it was worth the wait. Showed him how Id like to get the haircut and it was job done better than I expected. I definitely recommend this place and Id come here again.
Great place to go to if you’re looking for GREAT haircut!! Never have left there without the barber making sure I look good!! Highly recommend this shop!!!
Nice place and kind service! Will definitely be going again.
Freddy is a top notch barber. Tidied my Italian curls with no problem. Clean lines with the razor. Would go again
Had a fantastic experience at Sullys!Fast Freddie knows his stuff, had me leaving looking fresh as hell!
Freddy is a great barber. Surely going back again.
Sully, is fantastic. He hooked me up with the freshest cut Ive ever had. Will definitely be coming back over and over again for the haircut and conversation!
The guy just dont listen, do what ever he wants just a bad professional
Freddy is the best barber in Boston. Ive been going to him for 7 years now and Ive never been disappointed. Even after moving out of Mission Hill, I still drive back there just for a cut.
Made an appointment with Freddy via the phone who was super responsive and friendly, did some great work with the straight razor and had some amazing attention to detail. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a barber. 10/10
I never leave disappointed. Never been to a better barber.
Best barber Ive been too in Boston,, finally a barber who can compliment the shape of my head.. I normally get clipper work on the sides and shear/scissor work on top.. It is rare to find a barber/stylist which can do both... Just ask for Freddy.. Never have I experienced a thorough precise service. If its ever busy, its worth wait or Ill just book an appointment online ahead of time...
Was a bit apprehensive going to the barber in COVID times but Sullys is a great place to go. Was made to feel perfectly comfortable and at ease. Great cut, clean lines and tidy work. Feel 10lbs lighter after losing my lock down locks.
Today was my 4th haircut with Freddy and it was great as always. Took my 3 year old son along with me to hang out while I was getting a hair cut- which worked out just fine. Would highly recommend this place!
Great barbershop.... Talented and friendly barbers. Fun music with great atmosphere. Stylish cuts from experienced barbers. Check Sullys barbershop out you will not be disappointed....
Been going here for the past 3 years, not once been let down, great service and a nice environment
I almost never leave reviews, but this place definitely deserves one. I have had two separate barbers at Sully’s (Freddy and another guy), and both have given me the best haircuts I have ever gotten. I don’t think I could trust another barber after coming here. My hair is tough- thick with cowlicks- but their skill and attention to detail is amazing. The straight blade around the edges is a nice touch too. I would go far out of my way to get my hair cut here.
Long wait with only one barber in on a Friday morning, but had a great conversation while getting a meticulous cut from a friendly barber. Also enjoyed the hip-hop music. Will definitely be back
I have been in 5 barber shops in Boston. Sully is the worst one.1) Communication skill was terrible, no clear communication to reach a better outcome.2) There were two barbers. The one who attended me seems to have at all no experience in the field. It seems like he didnt know what he was doing. At the end, the more experienced barber helped, but it was too late to fix the mess. I strongly believe that it is OK to have no experience, but if you cant handle a persons haircut, be human and let others do the service. Conclusion: I do not recommend the place since no promptitude was shown to fix the problem. Perhaps, spending 30 buck on other places might be worthy.
Great place to go for a haircut at an old fashioned barber shop. Reasonably priced. My go-to haircut destination.
Wonderful walk in experience, super friendly. Very clean haircut. Would definitely recommend!
Nice shop but as a walk in youll probably be looking at a wait unless you know the barber. 3 of us waiting when one person walked in and skipped the line with an appointment, which is understandable. However, he seemed to know the barber and it seemed like he was just saying that as theres no actual appointment system in place. Then when I went to leave because I couldnt wait the barber said he would give me a cut before the other people that were there when I showed up. I declined, as Im not interested in doing that to other people. Seems like a nice baber shop but I wouldnt go there unless youre a regular. Its not really new customer friendly in my opinion. The appointment system should be improved and communicated to all customers. Wouldnt be too hard to have a sign in sheet or something like that to improve the que.In reading these other reviews anyone can see that issues keep occurring but the only mitigating step they take is to reply to the comment with either apologizing or trying to justify their position, in lieu of actually making the suggested improvements. I would take a moment to read some of the owners responses to people before going here.
So barbershops aren’t really my thing and I’ve been searching for a really good one for my son. He’s 7 years old and sometimes can be pretty tough since he is young and does like moving a lot . I walked in and had to wait but that was fine the guy there his name was freddy told me how long the wait would be and was very nice. So rude service? I don’t understand. My sons haircut? PERFECT. I know absolutely nothing when it comes to cuts and I typically leave it to the barbers which isn’t really good, but with Freddy I’m happy I did. The details he puts into my sons haircut was amazing never mind the fact he was also patient and understanding with how my son likes to move and gets impatient with sitting and overall he is someone I will definitely come to from now on! Thanks Freddy!!!
Took my son got an awesome fade. Awesome staff also enjoyed the music.
First off, Sully is a great Barber and does a great job. However between the wait and the haircut it usually takes at least 2 hours. Also, I asked him to take some off the top and to take into consideration that do a comb over and instead he gave a blowout and did a horrible job cutting the hair on top.
My experience can be summoned by these;1. The store is beyond filthy, everything looked dirty and disorganized.2. The Barber has zero professionalism nor decency of respect to his customers. Just really odd behavior!! He would stop in the middle of the cut, pick up the phone? Start eating all while he was lining up my beard.3. Overall this was really the most bathetic barbershop.Find a different store! Not worth your time nor the money.
Went with my boyfriend awesome fade great place highly recommend.
Great atmosphere. Great cuts. Has a flat screen with PS4 hooked up for people to play while they wait. Fred has a true passion for his cuts.
Sullys is a great place to get any kind of haircut, from a conservative business-casual trim to a flashy, super sharp urban style. The manager, Freddy, is a slim and stylish Puerto Rican fellow with a real eye for making you look your best. He has a great sense of humour too, so the experience is fun overall. He encouraged me to go a little bit outside of what I was used to and I feel a lot better about how I look with the moderate change he suggested - I was still able to keep my overall style, but with a very noticeable improvement from my last barber in Back Bay. One of the best things about the way Freddy cuts is that you can be in and out of the chair quickly, have a fun time, and there is no hair on you after! So you dont need to go home and take a shower, you can go right to work, or out on a date, or do whatever you want without that itchy feeling that most barbers leave you with. I dont know how he does such nice work and manages to keep the client clean, but his technique is great. There is also a very sweet blond woman named Johanne whom Ive had some great cuts from too when Freddy is busy. She is super friendly and does a great job with scissors, clippers, or both. She also gave me some free dating advice that was very helpful on two separate occasions. The shop is super easy to get to, right by the Brigham Circle stop on the green line and within walking distance of Roxbury Crossing on the orange line.Parking isnt too bad either if you need to drive - the Stop & Shop has a huge lot right around the corner; I just buy a little snack or something on the way down to the shop so Im technically a customer and I dont feel bad about using their parking.
That’s Family. Best line up in town. Ask for Freddy.
Always A1 service, been my barber for 10 years.
Worst service. Wont even talk properly on the call. If you can not speak properly on call, how do you expect to be friendly in person.
Love getting my eyebrows done Freddy is the best for the job
Beyond terrible customer service. Went there and one of the barbers was free and texting on his phone. I asked him repeatedly how long the wait will be. He ignored me and then replied with I don’t know. So I just left.
Good customer service
!TALENTED BARBERS NEEDED!Anyone familiar with this spot respects the influence they have on the community. This barbershop serves the most diverse customer base in the area-ranging from neighborhood youth, to college students, to local professionals; both male and female. If you understood the challenges of the location-youd know how underrated that is. Despite it all- this barbershop will make sure of one thing; you will look WAAAAY better walking out than you did walking in. There is no efficiency model behind it. You will sit in that chair as long as it takes to make you look up to their standards. Once you experience it; youll understand why the price is slightly higher and itll make sense why everyone else waiting has no problem continuing to wait. This emphasis on quality is credited to both the history of the sullys brand and the stores manager/highest demand barber, Freddy.Freddy has a clear talent cutting hair with a unique eye for detail that Ive witnessed remain consistent throughout nonstop work days that in some cases, leak into after hours (due to being understaffed). The only drawback is that having set the bar so high himself, it makes it very difficult to recruit the right talent. Over the past few years, Sullys has gone from barber on every chair down to just Freddy back to a few barbers then repeat. Which is a mystery in itself considering how much barbers improve working alongside him. Most cases barbers become jealous of his established reputation and instead of matching his work ethic, they begin to act up and blow the chance to establish themselves. ESPECIALLY when Freddy always hands off walk-ins to other barbers considering his full appointments. The opportunity is there...I encourage two things:If you are a first time walk-in, go in with patience and enjoy the atmosphere. You wont regret the service. If you are an aspiring barber/stylist looking for an opportunity to apply your creativity to your craft-reach out to Sullys. This shop has bigger plans than just pumping out satisfactory haircuts. Why not be a part of it and establish your career/finances in the meantime?
Very friendly and a great hair cut.
Great hair cutting skills with some hip hop music
I liked their services in general
Good service better staff
Poor skill and even worse price!
Went there twice. First time i got a haircut in 10 mins with no attention to details and not a very friendly staff. Second time, it was closed for an hour for i don’t know what reason because there were people inside. That’s not how you do business.
Love getting haircuts here
Dirty tools, and got some infections
