We have been a customer of Haines since we bought our condo in 2011. We have their service agreement and have them service our AC twice a year. We have always had excellent service provided by very professional and knowledgeable technicians. Recently, we had trouble with our system while we were not there. It was on a weekend. I contacted Haines and they got a tech to our condo as soon as I was able to get a key to them. Chris contacted us soon after their answering service called him. He told me what time he expected to be there. He then called me to tell me that he had diagnosed the problems and to advise what the cost of materials would be. He called once again to tell me that the repairs were complete and the system running fine. He then returned my key to a neighbor. It is so wonderful to have an AC company that is so dependable. I am sure that Chris is a very much valued employee.

Haines Air Conditioning is 10 Stars in my book. After over a year of being ripped off by FastAC when the new AC system they installed for my 86 year mother never worked more than a few hours at a time. I called Haines. There was a blockage in the drain line that caused a water level to shut off until the water was drained. They never told me.The very professional tech diagnosed the problem, added some drain cleaner and instructed me how to keep the drain clear! Less than an hour!

While I was up north for the summer our a/c in the condo went out. I had the great pleasure of working with Linda Hughes on the phone She was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable about my choices. We decided I needed to replace my current system. The work was done promptly even though I wasn’t there. After installation a minor problem developed with the thermostat/humidistat combination. Again Linda did a great job setting up the minor correction that was necessaryJust today a very nice service man “Mark “ called and said he was going to the condo to make the adjustments. I called 7 different AC repair companies over the weekend while my AC was not running. A few were rude over the phone, a few said they’d call me to schedule something and never did, one said they are on their way and never showed up. When I called Haines, they were nice over the phone. They said Chris would call me to schedule the repair and he did. Between when I called and when my AC was fixed was less than 2 hours. I’ve heard of better prices from other places, but in this case I was glad to pay for professionalism and urgency.

Charged $95 for diagnostic but really tech had to actually touch freezer To investigate and confirm diagnostic which he claims was another $100. He left I am out $207.64 and my freezer is still broke. I was mis informed from first phone call on actiually what $95 represents. It is for the tech to show up. After that the clock starts ticking. Tech claims he is here to say there is a problem. NO KIDDING, thats why I called you. The second call made To the office was to dispute this charge and the staff was rude. I cant believe a local company ripping people off. Im just sick of dishonest people. I will pay people because they provide a service and work hard but this was wrong. Never again

Haines AC installed my Carrier unit a couple of years ago. Maintenance was always done - just yesterday it stopped working. Ben came out on time and after checking the whole system he found the culprit. A blown fuse. He fixed that and now we are cool again. Thank you Ben- good job!

The worst time for an AC problem to occur in Florida is on a hot August Saturday night. Luckily Haines AC services all of SWFL and has on call techs 24/7/365. I first talked with Michelle who pointed me in the right direction, she was incredibly friendly and helpful. We later received a call from their on call tech, Enzo. He was very knowledgeable and walked my husband and I through a few helpful tips and was able to resolve the issue immediately. Thank you to Enzo, Michelle, and everyone at Haines AC for keeping us cool!

Bonita resident since 1980. Used them several times since with last time 9/12/19 to update/replace HVAC in 30 year old home. Quick, professional and not hard sell like the newer, local clowns in this business. Take the word from a 40 year resident, avoid the Best guys and the Bruno bear guys. Having a son that spent some time with these guys a few years back, their tactics are to be desired especially with the elderly.

They replaced my air conditioner in December of 2018. After they installed it, they never told us what we need to properly maintain this new unit. My air conditioner stopped working on October of 2019. They came by my condo and noticed I have a dirty filter that clogged up my drain. They not only charged me a diagnostic fee of $95, but also a service fee of $65. All they did was flushed my drain. They told us they dont have the right size filter for my unit. They left my condo without replacing my filter. At this point, I leave my air conditioner on without filter. I called them in the morning to inquire about the filter. Their receptionist kept on blaming us that it was our fault to cause this problem . She told us that we need to replace the filter every 2 months. They are not responsible for changing the filter even though it is the main reason of the problem. It will cause us another $79 plus cost of filter for them to finish their job. She was not helpful on the phone. She kelp on blaming us instead of providing solution for my problem. She also told us that the warranty of the air conditioner is not valid until we signed up the biannual serve contract with them. None of this was mentioned after they installed my new air conditioner 10 months ago.The office manager contacted us after posting this review. We appreciated his effort for reaching out to resolve this matter.

I had problems with my air conditioning and called Haines. Ryan R came and was competent and polite. It was a two man job so he and another man returned the next day and fixed the problem. Both men were careful to explain what needed to be done to solve my problem. Their arrival time, service and communication skills were excellent. I also found their price to be fair.

Our landlord left us with no AC for over a week. She finally agreed to have a tech come out but then did not agree to have the AC repaired after getting the quote. Our lease is up in a month and this place came fully furnished. We are not in a position to do costly repairs to her AC unit just to move in a month, but we were sweaty! 6/28/2019Eric and Jean made a service call at my home today. They were both very help full. They did the usual routine maintenance changed out air filters check pressures on the unit, hosed down compressor and replaced some armaflex insulation I provided them. Jean while checking out my air handler noticed a good size burn mark on the insulation inside the air handler and several wires that melted together. He called Eric over to look and immediately Eric check the breaker box and noticed that the breaker that was for air handler was the wrong size. He told me that he was going call the office and have someone come out and replace the breaker with the correct one. I have been using Haines since 2000 and have always had good luck with them and with two great technicians like Eric and Jean you know that job was going to be done right! We contacted 5 AC companies and met personally with 4 of them. We were extremely impressed with Linda (Comfort Consultant) from Haines. She was confident but not over bearing. She was knowledgeable and gave us 4 recommendations to consider. We decided to give our business to Haines because of their on line reviews and we felt very comfortable with Linda after meeting her face to face. As well, Haines prices were more than competitive and we really liked the fact that you could purchase the labour warranty on an annual basis. (no major up front one time $$$$ warrenty payment)We just had our 3 Ton 14.5 Seer Variable speed Daikin AC unit installed by Michael and Alex. It rained most of the day! Both Michael and Alex did a professional installation job (inside and out). They showed up on time, covered the entire work area including the stairs and tile floor leading to the installation. As well, both were extremely pleasant and we sensed that they both enjoyed their work!The unit we purchased is much more quiet that our previous unit. We also had an wifi thermostat installed. Wow! It’s middle of June, so hot here. Of course our AC goes out! We had another company come out for $20, and after visually looking around he said $50 more to actually diagnose. Then he said we needed a new unit. There was fungus growing, our disable box was installed and it’s very illegal. He quotes us $9,800.00! So then we thought... let’s call Haines! They have been amazing with us with our icebox in our freezer with a really great price! So, the guy came out and looked around. He said it’s the motor, not the whole unit. He quoted us $670.00! We said go ahead and do it. As we are letting my dad know the price, the guy came back and said it’s $370 because it’s under warranty! Wow! What an amazing company! Thank you Haines! We will only call them from now on!!

WOW!!! $2000.00 less for the SAME UNIT! I guess there is no loyalty there!!!!!!!!!!!!I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! When I called, they said thats what it cost if you would like it done here! When your AC doesn’t work as it should, you call Haines. We had a crazy thunderstorm and lightning madness in our area. Then we noticed shortly after the house was getting warmer. Ahhhhhh!!!!! No!!! I work for Haines. I immediately called and asked for help ASAP! I was put in line as any customer would be, no special treatment here, which I expected as I am just as important as the rest of our customers. 4.5 hrs later I had a tech at my house in the late evening hours (11:23pm) and he was able to get me up and running!!! A fan just wasn’t going to cut it! Haha. Thankfully the technician that came to help us, knew just what he was doing and had us up and cooling in no time!! I work for a company that cherishes their customers and their employees. Super grateful we have awesome techs that care about our community and will go that extra mile to make sure we all stay cool.PSA: I don’t sugar coat anything. My a/c wasnt blowing cold, Haines came out to my home in no less then 45 min. @ 10pm! The guy Jay was so nice and explained that my coil was really dirty, when Engineered Air was trying to give me a quote for a whole new a/c system. They wanted like 7 grand! 175$ later and my family and I are cool again

2018 update - I called when my air was not working and once again I was told that I needed a service contract so I could save money on service. I said OK because I really needed the air conditioner fixed. I service tech came out and said that I needed a new system and I asked for a quote. The quote was slow to arrive so I called someone else who came out and promptly repaired my system. Now, I see my credit card bill with $150 charged for a service contract and $161 for a service visit. Unbelievable! A double charge and my system was never repaired. Calling the office was a horrible experience. I was given the run-around and had to explain to 3 different people. Finally they agreed to return the $150 contract fee but not the $161 service call. What a rip off. At one time Haines was a good company to do business with, but no longer. DO NOT CALL THEM! They are not interested in customer service and only want to cheat you.One star is generous. This was a classic case of NO SERVICE and a really clumsy attempt to pull a bait and switch. I called for service and when the tech showed up he looked at my system and spent at least 30 minutes telling me why I should buy a service contract. He said his office would call me to arrange the service contract; and then...he would come back and repair my system.I had made this appointment well in advance and needed this repair. Not only did I have to hear the pitch for a service contract, but the repair was never done. What a load of $#!+ . Dont call these people!

I have a Haines RL contract, (BEST) thing I ever did, My last Tech Frank was GREAT went over and above, I noticed a difference in my ac performance the first night, and here in FL this summer is brutal. My neighbors are going through staying in a friends condo, no Air conditioning, they have a Lennox, the company they hired is charging them $2,000 for a compressor, that is under manufacture warranty, just in labor and $60 a lb for 410a FREON. That is double what Haines charges just for Freon and if they had our RL contract they would not have a labor fee. As soon as it is fixed, they are switching to Haines. This company and the man who owns it, truly cares about their customers & staff. Ive never worked for a better company. I am proud to be a Haines employee. This company has become my family and there is a reason it has been in business for over 60 years.
