Cancelled my policy on Feb 16th because I found a better deal elsewhere. They still took money out of my account for the policy a week later and when I called them to let them know, they hadn’t cancelled my policy. I gave them everything they needed to do so when I cancelled. Still waiting for my refund from them almost a month and a half later. Will never use State Farm ever again.

I tried to add a commercial building insurance from their office, talked to Jake. First kept getting put off, Gave them the tax parcel number because the building does not have a physical address. This is for our lumber sales from our part time business, and i will have a personal wood shop in part of it. Jake quoted me insurance for a 600k business. gave me prices. as i talked to him i found out why it was so high, because they got the wrong building. The building we are buying is 60K. He went back to underwriting, then called me and said the Fire danger is to high. because of all the glues and chemicals in the building to be used. This is nothing more then what most people convert the garage in their house to do for a wood shop. The glues i use are not toxic. The coatings i use are low or no voc. the acrylic i am going to use is no voc and not flammable. and for the storage there is a outdoor shed for that. i tried to talk to him about it but go no where. So i am calling another agent to try to fix this, i tried calling their national number but they do not do commercial building insurance over the phone, only auto. and maby a house fire. Also tomorrow instead of cutting thousands of dollars of black walnut we have a contract to get. I have to call and price the policies on our House and 3 vehicles along with the commercial insurance. I did get the reason he did not call back today as their phones and computers were down, but that still does not explain why he did not call me back yesterday as he said he would do. I work 70 to 80 hours a week. I do not have time for incompetent people to handle my business.
