Been coming here for sometime and it’s always been a great experience. Really have high expectations for my haircuts and every-time I visit they’re always exceeded. Definitely the best barbers in Blacksburg. Would 100% recommend.

A professional barbershop. Some of you may remember what that’s like. A place you can go, talk about what’s going on, and come out looking great. My teen boys love going and talking nfl. Plus, they get stylish cuts that they want to keep looking good. Highly recommended.

I have been coming to New Image for cuts for four years and I have had nothing but an amazing experience each time. All of the barbers are professional and skillful with their craft. The owner is very down to earth individual that brings joy and light to the atmosphere. The camaraderie they share is unmatched and it shows through their customer service. Also, It is very easy to schedule appointments or walk in. I have scoured the city of Blacksburg/Christiansburg and nothing has come close to the quality of New Image Barbers.

Really great service! I had no idea how the haircut would turn out when it started but I completely loved how it turned out and I have had lots of compliments. First time getting a haircut in Blacksburg and this is my permanent barbershop from here on. Oh! I should add they take Covid protocols seriously, as it should be.

I was really happy with the fact that Alontay (I know I misspelled his name) was able to take my husband as a walk in. I ended up asking the owner if he can cut my sons hair. He was really rude and arrogant about it. He seems like a really miserable person. Alontay and the other dark skin guy was very friendly and welcoming. Alontay did great on my husbands hair, gave him a nice tip. The owner is VERY rude which is the ONLY reason I gave 1 star. He did a good job on my sons hair but his attitude was just horrible. Kept saying really nasty things and being disrespectful. Maybe having a bad day but you shouldn’t bring that type of attitude to work. Still gave him a tip though. My advice, if the owner is cutting your hair or attending to you, make sure you’re ready to deal with a nasty, rude and disrespectful person!

There doesnt seem to be many people in this town that can make an asian look the way they want without much instruction. Most of the people that can, however, seem to be located in this barbershop. After a first pass at my cut, Alante checked in by assuring me that any adjustments that I wanted, hed make, and he came through! Im very satisfied with my experience. Theyve integrated rigorous COVID precautions without sacrificing the relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Give them a shot; if you work with them, theyll work with you!

Worst customer experience ever at a barbershop. Showed barber reference pics and he still got it completely wrong. Overpriced too, go somewhere like Brownstone if you want a decent haircut or fade in bburg

First time trying this barber out and I had a great experience. Requested a #3 fade into scissors on tope and Alante did a phenomenal job. There Covid practices were great as well with constant hand washing and sanitizing. The atmosphere was great, very laid back. Ill definitely be back for another cut

This is the best place to go to to get a fade. Not sure why it’s below a 5 or a 4 star but this is definitely my go to place for haircuts.

If you google for Barbershops in Blacksburg, you will get suggestions for barbers with no less then 4.0 rating, except for this one. There are several serious reasons why this place cannot even manage to get a 3.5 rating. The haircut they give is arguably not bad, but the barbers work here are very rude and arrogant. I have seen them being disrespectful to the customers and talking about people behind them. You can even get a little idea of their rudeness just by reading their comments on the reviews here. They feel they are the best barbers in the town, and so think it doesnt matter how they behave towards the customers. However, thats not the case. I dont recommend this place at all.

Has a discounted rate for VT cadets getting high and tight / medium fade haircuts, but does not offer that rate to actual U.S. service members.

After going through a few barber shop in the area, this is the only place Ive been that consistently gives great cuts from all barbers. Theyre also just great people that always make the experience enjoyable.

This was my first time visiting New Image Barbers with my 20 month old. I was hesitant to find a new barber and had thought about driving back to Charlottesville for my sons previous barber. I’m glad I decided to give New Image a chance.When we walked in we were greeted and asked to check in, hand sanitize, and be seated. In between clients the barbers disinfect the chairs and working space and throughly wash their hands. I was very relieved to see the business taking COVID-19 protocols seriously.We were then greeted by Lamont for our appointment. He asked me what I wanted and I explained. He then gave my son the perfect haircut. Lamont took his time and blended his sides seamlessly with close attention to detail.I was extremely impressed with the barber’s skills and patience with my son. Lamont spoke to my son and played around with him while he cut his hair— a very difficult task with a moving toddler; however he was the man for the challenge!We will continue to book our haircuts with Lamont.Advice to the negative commenters— support small businesses, be a kind human being, and be patient. If you are in the Blacksburg area and looking for a clean fade and that good barbershop atmosphere I recommend New Image Barbershop. Coming from New York City down to Blacksburg definitely found a barbershop that feels like home. The guys at the Barbershop were true professionals and definitely followed all safety guidelines.

Finally I found a great barber shop that knows what they are doing in Blacksburg! LJ always hooking me up with the best cuts that are even better than what I get at home. It’s a Great environment, they play great music, the people are funny and awesome to talk to. This exactly what everyone should want from a barber shop.

I drive from West Virginia, over an hour, just to get my hair cut at New Image. They are the best professionally and personally. Great environment and very friendly. Definitely recommend to anyone that wants not just a hair cut but a great experience.

Always a good haircut -- though Im not picky nor do I try anything fancy. Can be busy at times, but you can also schedule appointments.6 month return visit edit: as always, great service. The staff seems happy to not talk to you, light chat, or engage in conversation to your preference. Im not a sports person, but they *love* talking sports if thats your thing!

This is definitely the place to go in Blacksburg. I’ve always been a walk-in, which I don’t recommend because you can make appointments, but they always work me in. This is the place to go for the best beard trim and/or hair cut. I have been going for a while and never had a bad experience. LJ typically does my trims but all of the other barbers seem very experienced and I would gladly let any of them trim my beard or hair.If you want to have an experience and not just a clippers cut, you must give New Image Barber a try.

I rarely ever write reviews, but this was the worst experience. One of the barbers literally tried to fight me.Ive been going here for about half a year because its near my house. Yesterday, I went to get a haircut at 530 and waited patiently for a hour. One of the barbers starts making rude comments about me coming in so late right in front of me. So I got the hint and decided to leave. The barber then tells me to come back only to tell me how its late and I need to pay them more if I wanted a cut. I told him I understand, and was going to leave. For some reason, he then proceeds to bait me to try and fight him (hes having a bad day I guess?). Needless to say, Ill not be coming back. 1/10 haircut experience (I didnt even get a haircut)

My boyfriend usually comes here and likes it, but today we waited for more than 30 minutes and still didnt get a haircut. Mind you that two people walked in after us and got their haircuts before my boyfriend and they did not even wait more than 10 minutes. No organization. I tried to ask the lady at the counter and she had no idea what happened then I called Charles (the owner) and he also had no idea what happened as well. All he did was apologize sort of?? All we knew is that we will not be coming back here again.

The owner is a racist against Arab guys. I’ve talked to a few of my Arab friends, who used to go this place and stopped like me, and they all had a story about how the owner was really rude to them in some way for no reason. Personally, from the very beginning the guy seemed like he had a problem with me, but I just thought I was imagining things. Until one time I was talking to my mom on the phone in Arabic, and the guy suddenly stopped me and told me to get out of the shop if I’m gonna keep talking. “We don’t want to listen to you talking on the phone, no actually I don’t wanna listen to you talk on the phone”. Everyone sitting there was confused as to why he was being like that. When I thought about it later I remembered that I used to see people talking on their phones all the time and he never said anything except when it was me talking in Arabic. Also, my friends all told me that he was being racist to them in some way or another, before I ever said anything. So, I just stopped going there. The reason I’m writing all this is just to make it known how this guy treats people differently just because of their skin color, but of course it’s up to you if wanna keep going there.

Haircuts are about average at best meanwhile the customer service is way below par. Owner is rude and more focused on quantity than quality of haircuts. Save yourself time and go to other barbers

Very rude and disrespectful. I was expressing concern about an elderly barber that was not present and another barber next to me very loudly stated he hoped he was headed to warm hearth nursing home. I think this particular barber ran the place? Upon no provocation he then mocked my request for the style cut I wanted. Will never do business there again as that was the worst experience I have ever had at a barber shop.

Gotten some of the best haircuts of my life here. Owner is a no buIIsh!t kind of guy which can come across as disrespectful, IF you have a frail ego OU your feelings get hurt easily OR dont like an owner whos not afraid to speak his mind with his customers then dont go here.Also, coming here for a while Ive noticed customers give vague answers on what they want done to there hair. Make sure you tell a barber what you want, vague descriptions are not useful to barbers.I have been in other establishments and have seen the same level of frustration, you as a customer cant expect them to know what you want.~T H

Was referred by my friend, he told me i couldnt go wrong... He was wrong, I dont understand what happened. He always seems to have a pretty good haircut. But when i got home and took a good look out of the shower, my head looked JACKED. I asked for a Mid-Fade w/ finger length on top. I got a bowl haircut. I found out that apparently i was suppose to only get in a Barbers Chair The 2 guys in the middle is what im told. Ill try one of them next time

Horrible. The female who I had wasnt listening when I said what I wanted for my cut. In the very least she didnt fully understand, but she didnt ask questions to clarify. Just a bad experience. She wasnt even apologetic after realizing she gave me a ridiculous hair cut and just told me that it was what I asked for. Very disappointed with this visit especially since Ive been here plenty of times in the past and they seemed to know what they were doing.

Look no further for a barber!!I have gone to ALL the other hair cutting places in Blacksburg to get my 6-year-old sons hair cut. His hair is difficult to cut properly because of multiple cowlicks and the fact that he squirms a lot. Everyone else has messed up his hair, leaving him with uneven cuts, empty spots, and hair that is impossible to fix.From the VERY FIRST TIME I visited Cutz2Go, they cut my sons hair properly and made it very easy to style. The cost is extremely reasonable, and they do not rush through the cut. I have also gotten my hair cut here, and they do a wonderful job cutting womens hair too! Check this place out for anyone in the family who is in need of a haircut - you will NOT be disappointed!

STAY AWAY !!!I got charged $30 DOLLARS for an awful haircut ... came here for a simple haircut and the 2 guys there gave me a hard time and were making racist jokes the whole time ... I wanted a trim on the sides and got a full buzz cut. The one dude blamed HIS MISTAKE on me and then he ended up charging me $30!?! and told me I had to pay for his mistake!!!

Darius was my barber, he did an excellent job. I had been trying to get a certain haircut at my old barber for months and it never was quite right, Darius nailed it on the first try.

Terrible service and attitude, making racist comments (guess its ok to make racist comments about Caucasians since he is black). Very high strung w/short man syndrome. Had high hopes but obvious chip on his shoulder.
