Good gym. They have a weight room, sauna, cardio room, child/parent workout room, racquetball courts, and a basketball court. The weight room is kinda small. If you go during peak hours you may have to wait to work in a set.As a parent really enjoy the parent/child workout room. Has treadmills, a cable machine, some adjustable benches, and some light free weights. Still awesome for a parent trying to squeeze in a workout. Be warned they do NOT have toys avaliable for the kids. Just some chalk, crayons, and a DVD player. Bring some toys for your kids. The staff is friendly and professional. Would recommend.
Staff is really nice. I see someone different every time Ive walked in and they are always welcoming. Issue is the gym is absolutely trash. Theres 1 room with all their machines/weights in there, and its mostly old equipment. Not a lot of variety either. Worst base gym Ive seen
This is the worst Air Force gym Ive ever been. Staff is nice but the facility is awful. Perpetually out of order bathroom stalls, out of order steam room (for at least 3 years), non-functional water fountains, etc. Tear it down and consolidate the equipment at one of the other gyms on base.
Very middle of the road compared to other military gyms. Has a decent selection of weights/strength equipment, but some has been broken and “marked for repair” for months. Cable machines have welds that are about to come apart. Gets very busy during peak hours due to being right next to the base hospital. It’s not bad, but definitely could do with some better management or more prompt repairs to faulty equipment.Edit: they’ve improved when it comes fixing equipment.
Gets the job done....more varied equipment to than Dragon fitness center but also too crowded. Keesler needs to bite the bullet and build a new fitness center. Theres too many students and permanent party on the base for base leadership to think what they have is adequate.
Very friendly staff. Cardio equipment is adequate, and its apparent they have a thriving basketball scene. They have a large stretching room, which is nice.I was disappointed with weightlifting area, though. Insufficient equipment and no dedicated deadlifting area.
Its a decent uncrowded gym for the most part, I prefer a quiter environment for a gym so its nice. Although I hope the staff telling you rudely to leave early before the gym is closed isnt apart of the normal rhetoric here.
Worse gym in military history. So sad the DOD should be ashamed. Machines broken in the weight room for months and just got new machines months ago. They started breaking immediately. Bad choice of equipment. Its like someone who doesnt work out chose it. So the leg extension, leg curl, and a bench thats been sitting by the fly machine have all been broke for about 4 or 5 months. Three shower heads in the shower area have been broke for the same amount of time. Dont ask the staff about it cause they dont make those decisions. Just sad!
Five treadmills is kind of insane for a gym. Fairly small weight room .Overall a pretty lousy base gym. For some reason TDY students cant access 24 hours a day even though almost rest of the AF gyms allow this, it is a very discriminated proccess .
Its too cramped. Needs better water drink station . More cardio machines
Love their ample supply of raquetball courts
It’s not as crowded as the other gym on base.
A lot of equipment is broke down. It gets very busy also. I guess it will have to do with the time that Im here. I wish they had a 24/7 gym, especially over the boring weekend.
I like this one because there is a family room, so my kid can play while I work out. It isnt spectacular, but it is something. It has cardio equipment, weights, pull up bar. So it has basics. Dragon gym is the other one, and it doesnt have this option.
Gym is small will probably get a better work out if the gym is empty if its too many people then you will be waiting to use machines.
They have flared benches near the freeweights, makes dbell bench annoying and much harder to lay down and get up. They have way to many racquet ball courts. Their equipment is smushed in one small room. The cable equipment is older and all weight values feel off.
Old school feel, not a bad gym.
Needs a lot more room and better equipment
Very nice staff and very clean
Ok gym but really starting to show age. I hope they update/remodel soon.
Not the cleanest equipment, does have clea ladies room. Always over crowded.
This gym Smells like mildew. Needs a facelift
If you want to lift weights and dont want to have to wait on every single piece of equipment then come super early or super late. Smallest gym ever.
The weight room feels a little cramped, but its got everything you could want to lift!
The new equipment is bonk. Its to small.
Equipment for legs are all broken. Free weight area is tiny and it feels super muggy. Go to the triangle.
Always empty and not full of trainies
Friendly staff. Clean gym!
My home gym, everything I need
Good equipments
