I love this gym, the people who worked here were professional and understanding, and the equipment was top tier. Nothing was ever broken and if it was it wasnt for long. Wont find much better for $10 a month ever. Now that Ive moved away, I miss this gym everyday!

The gym is always clean and has everything you could ever need at a fair price. Most importantly, the day time manager, Cat, is an incredible asset to the maxx fitness brand. Cat is very personable and makes it her job to know every single membership holder that comes in and out of the gym.

This place Rocks! Hands down best gym I’d ever been to. I love that they offer day passes as I was on vacation. There is more than enough weight training equipment as well as cardio machines. Cleanliness was spot on and the showers were a blessing. Will definitely hit y’all back up when I’m in town again.

This gym is big and spacious. It has a nice cardio area, a turf, and many machines and free weights. There are many classes offered as well. It gets very busy from 4-6:30pm, so I try going at other times.

Marisol is the best front desk representative at the club! She’s always so cheerful and friendly and very helpful!

Convenient location, more spacious then the Allentown location and offers most amenities you typically see in other fitness centers.I would suggest mirrors in the training room and the training space off to the side of the main floor area. Mirrors help with keeping the correct form and posture when lifting weights. Currently mirrors are only in the front of the gym and in the aerobic room.

My husband and I have been going to Max Fitness since they opened, the equipment is excellent the staff is very helpful if you have any questions or problems they are there for you. I would definitely recommend this gym.

Member since 2016. Trainers very professional, focusing on clients personal goals-not just building (unless that is your goal). Vast majority of members polite & courteous. Never had to significantly wait for equipment.

Would be 3-4 stars except for poor CV-19 safety with plenty of people without masks, grouped up, not cleaning equipment. Staff doesnt seem to care and have only seen one that makes occasional rounds for wiping down equipment.Otherwise though the gyms pretty decent with good size, setup, & equipment, just make sure to account for fees when figuring cost as will be more than the advertised $10/month but still very reasonable. Can get crowded in afternoon with the college crowd but good mix of members from new comers to lifters.Would say worth checking out if werent for ignoring pandemic.

Great place to workout, plenty of antibacterial cleaning supplies around to use. Plenty of equipment to use. Machines and free weights + cardio and the price is great too!

As someone who worked here for two days cleaning… I wasn’t really properly trained, and the tools I was given were abysmal. A broken vacuum, another broken vacuum, a working broom, and a perfect mop. Aside from that… Found out my delivery job pays me better so I decided to do that full-time –I am here a week later still trying to collect my wages. Might be a great place to work out, terrible place to work. The man in charge of this Max told me in a VERY rude tone “why don’t you get out of my gym “– Mike (operator)To which I replied “I will when you pay me “.MIKE also called me mentally unstable when I was attempting to collect wages OWED ME.4/8/2020… Still have not been paid*

Maxx Fitness is a little closer to my home. But they want my credit card number and bank account number to pay for the gym! This is shady. I didnt stay here, I enrolled at Steel Finess Riverport, bigger with a sauna and almost the same price.

This facility is very clean. Everytime I go I see the employeess cleaning.... including the manager. They never run out of paper towels and cleaner for the equipment. I always see the members cleaning the equipment before and after use and are polite, respectful and I never hear vulgar language. The employees are always respectful, friendly and helpful and take pride in their work. The equipment appears to be maintained and always is in good operating condition. Employees and members respect Covid precautionary measures. I was a member at another Maxx Fitness that was an absolute pig pen.

Mismanaged. Growing group of “temporarily unavailable” equipment. Employees don’t stop socializing to answer questions. Temp kept far too high. Air is stale. They should spend some of the money we pay to fix things and run the AC.

Zero fulfilled promises, poor COVID compliance/safety, and unauthorized billingAfter asking on Facebook on 7/6/20 how to “freeze” my membership due to the pandemic, I sent a letter to the club (certified mail, as instructed by MAXX) on 8/1/2020. They later called me and said they would put my membership on hold for 3 months but that the pause would not start until 30 days out. I told them about the conversation I had on Facebook earlier and how no 30 day notice was mentioned. “Mike” said they would ask the manager to consider adjusting it to start the membership freeze for August instead of September and call me back. They never called me back. I was still charged for August even though the freeze was apparently effective immediately. I noticed that I was also charged on November 1st even though my membership should still have been on pause as of that date.I ended up going in to the gym to cancel because I have had no luck teaching anyone via their online email feature and the person on Facebook could not help with the continued billing issues after the “freeze.” I told the person in-club about that and she did not even offer to try to help with the unauthorized charges. I felt even less safe about going to the gym with the recent uptick in COVID cases but I don’t want to keep going back and forth and getting mischarged for a membership I couldn’t safely use during the pandemic. The 30 days notice to pause also makes no sense given that we weren’t given 30 days notice of the clubs re-opening.They are not safe about mask-wearing or COVID safety at all, either. Don’t go here if you care about your health or your wallet. They will charge you incorrectly and not even bother trying to fix it.

The gym frequently has broken equipment (which stay broken for long periods) and the staff is not diligent about cleaning anything. Due to these issues I cancelled my membership (after a year and a half of being a member).They have continually, fraudulently charged me every month since despite me calling multiple times. My credit card company keeps reversing the charges for me, but I may have to get a new card issued because of their unprofessional and predatory business practices.Other budget gyms, like Planet Fitness are miles better. Unless you want to never stop being charged by them, I would suggest joining a different gym.

Been a member since fall of 2017. Its not a bad spot for how cheap it is. People arent all uppity if you drop weights on the floor, there are a bunch of serious lifters and a bunch of newbies so everyone is welcome and no one feels out of place. Place is loud but not so loud you cant hear the music in your headphones but loud enough that you wont hear anyone grunting. Id give it a full 5 stars if they were still open 24 hours.

If I could give a 0 I would. Called to cancel my membership and was told I just had to make the last payment. A year later I was contacted and threatened with collections. Management claims you cant cancel over the phone. Unfortunately it seems they dont tell their employees to tell you that. Apparently its better business to rack up a debt on a customer that wanted to cancel. Poor customer relations. Read the fine print and dont fall victim. The management here doesnt care. The manager told me he had close to 100 calls a month about cancellations not being processed or not being told you have to come in. That tells you something.

Did not require masks the whole time. The employees who are supposed to have masks on at all times did not. They didnt even know about the policy on their website that said if not wearing a mask 14 distance needs to be kept. Even beyond that 6 social distancing was not kept nor enforced. I wore my mask the whole time since I live in NYC & Ive been exercising with a mask since July. To drink water I held my breath & although I was close to needing to use my inhaler that was not something I was going to do because no one was wearing a mask. I brought this up to the women at the front desk and she could have cared less. Mind you it was around Thanksgiving when cases are rising & theirs a chance everything could get shut down again.***I was also threatened after writing this review, so I think that tells you everything you need to know about this establishment***

Pretty new equipment. Membership is affordable. Showers and lockerooms available. No towel service, no sauna or steam. Must bring your own toiletries (shampoo, soap, hairdryer, etc.). Trainers are knowledgeable. You can get a good workout in no master what your interest is.

At least 90% of the membership do not wear masks and the management does not police their mask policy. Its mind boggling!

First gym i ever feel welcomed at, not a huge fan of the blonde lady that’s here in the early mornings she charges me more for the shakes & is the only one who has to physically take my keys to scan my card instead of letting me scan it like everyone else does & no one else has asked for my boyfriends license when he’s a guest except for the first time he came with me. Other than her i love it here!

It is clean with nice and helpful staff. The equipment at first glance seems really nice but there are missing parts sometimes and the lifting section and wights are smaller, some times you need to wate for few minute to use bench press or etc. But the cardio section is good and have different varieties of machine to work with. If they fix the small problems it would be really nice place to work out.

Do not honor memberships and lied and said they dont have the phone number for corporate. A CORPORATE GYM doesnt have the CORPORATE phone number?!

All 3 local gyms are dirty. The spray bottles are very few and far in between as well as paper towel dispensers with anything in them. The employees are lazy and the equipment is dirty and falling apart. The hours are not convinient. I had the membership for a month and wanted to cancel. I was fine with paying the $58 to cancel. It wasnt until after I paid that I was informed that i would still have to pay the monthly fee since its a 30 day cancellation and then I would still pay the yearly fee as well. That puts me at over $137 for a membership I used maybe 6 times. This is completely unreasonable. They are not willing to work with me on it. I asked to speak with the manager to see if they could at least wave the yearly fee and I was told hes was not there even though the employee the previous day told me when I could reach him. I am very unsatisfied with the entire experience I had. I will never be a Maxx fitness member again.

Nice place to work out. And its in a nice area. Not in the hood like planet fitness where I think Im gonna get shanked while doing squats. Does get really crowded at times but you can always use something to exercise.

I Drive by the “open 24 hours” billboard daily, which is why I signed up. So pull in one Sunday about 5am.... Suprise!!! NOT OPEN. Stop in the next day to cancel since the early morning weekend hour are why I signed up.The “manager” advised me that I would still be charged the enrollment fee since I didn’t cancel within 3 days of signing up. I travel a lot and this was the 1st time I was in town to take advantage of these early morning weekend hours. I asked about the billboard just feet away from their front door and she stated oh yeah they haven’t been open 24 hours for quite a while. ( no apology) . I asked her to waive the enrollment fee.... No.False advertising? YeahA little customer service? NONot too classy......definitely

The atmosphere is great, no judgement here, and the staff are always smiling and helpful. Come check them out and lose that weight!

Not overly clean. Way too hot - only two ceiling fans for the whole gym floor. Small lockers - cannot hang pants or a coat. Only one water fountain location that I have found so far. Exercise mats are thin, ripped and very dirty. Soap is always out in the shower.

The equipment is great as well as most of the staff. Disappointing is their maintenance. Not as clean as it once once. I used to go to the 4th Street location due to how close to my place, but very very dirty! Now it seems this location is catching up. Also, tanning beds have been broken for months!!!!! Fix them!! Itss part of the membership and you cant get in because they do not have enough!!!

Everyone who is complaining about broken equipment are most likely the ones who don’t know how to properly use the machines and break them. Overall the best chain gym I have been apart of. I wish Trexlertown didn’t have such a terrible layout but I make the extra 15 minute trip here becuz it’s worth it. Employees are all super friendly. My only recommendation would be to get more barbells. When people take them into the CrossFit room there are not enough out in the weight section.

Just joined a few months ago and there are some pro and cons to the gymPROS: alot of space, different areas to train on specific things youre targeting, I love that they have the rubber weights for deadlifts etc. Bathrooms are fairly clean from the times Im there, trainers are nice and helpful, front desk staff is nice, Monthly cost for gym membership and trainer isnt badCONS: the mats are dirty and all torn up I dont even touch them I suggest you bring your own to use, sometimes the paper towel stations arent always stocked, DO NOT go around 3-7pm it is so packed with people you cant get on anything or do anything.. then youll have people hovering over you while youre trying to focus on doing a set. Best times to go I find are around 8:30-9 or around 12:30-1 not very crowded.Overall its a great gym.. I havent had a bad experience with anything yet. So Id recommend it to anyone.

If you like b.o., nasty floors w/pubes all over, and tons of people, this is the place for you. It often times can take up to 2 hrs to finish a 1 hr work out simply because there are so many people. If you come around 3PM-6PM there are actually lines to use certain equipment. And it really never dies down. I’ve tried coming at 5:00AM (opening time) and 12:00 noon and there’s still an obscene amount of people. Also, it’s mostly a millennial crowd here. So be prepared for a lot of “show offs” - people who don’t really work out rather just want to show off their newest tattoos and gym attire.

The girl at the front desk wore her face mask on her bottom lip while speaking to me. I mentioned to her that her mask must have slipped. She seemed annoyed I mentioned this to her. I was surprised that the staff were being so careless during this pandemic.

It’s a good enough gym with all the equipment you could really need. There are a ton of members and each has to pay an annual gym improvement fee yet over the last year they have let this place go. All the knobs that have fallen off the machines have not been replaced. The rubber covers over the bars are torn off. Benches are torn up. Always out of paper towels, soap. Bathroom is dirty. But for $20 month it’s pretty cheap for what you get

The place is amazing, but is a HUGE MESS! First of all, equipment is dirty, outdated, and takes ages to be repaired. Second, it’s filled with teens, and these aren’t the nice ones. Which makes the gym a laughing stock if your actually trying to lose weight or get muscular. Third of all, it has lots, and I mean lots of old men stalking you, naked in the bathroom (which was horrifying), and too personal with people. Fourth, I cancelled my membership in September because of school, and I’m now being charged $220. Fifth of all, classes are so competitive. Not just the core classes, but also the yoga classes and zumba classes. Sixth of all, I cannot even say it enough when the Theater is kessed up. Lights are broken, there is no security, movies barely play, and made me dizzy when I was finished with my workout. Seventh, the bathrooms are so dirty, and not watched well enough, which makes me scared to take a shower in there. It’s disgusting, rude, and a scam. Don’t EVER go here

Its 8am and an employee is running a buzzsaw or something for the last 30 minutes. It was so loud my ears started ringing and i got dizzy. Incredibly unprofessional. Theres no way that decibel level is legal for them to do with 100 people working out without ear protection.

They deserve less than one star. This place is awful, I had terrible experience with the customer service at Saucon Valley location. They were very rude when I moved to Philadelphia and tried to cancel my membership, and the GM would not give me the number to the corporate or regional number saying he was the only person I could talk to. I would not recommend this gym to anyone, they are thieves and hit you with tons of extra additional fees. Do not go here!

Gym is ok but buyer beware!! I’ve been ripped off by this gym as many others have (read the reviews). They say you are not on auto renew yet at the end of the year they charge you again for the yearly fee and put you month to month.I called to cancel at the end of January after I saw my credit card being charged. They told me I’ll be charged for the yearly fee Feb 1st even if my cancellation letter gets there by Feb 1st and even though I’m clearly not using the gym past Feb 1st. Such a scam!

Great another gym nothing fancy

If I could give this Gym zero stars I would. I first signed up a year ago. This was my first Gym experience ever. I was very nervous, uncomfortable about trying the gym and had no idea how to use any equipment. However, John Stefanowicz (the personal trainer at the time) contacted me and I came in for my free consultation. By the end of our meeting I felt much more comfortable, yet still hesitant at the same time about signing up as his client to train. Lets fast forward one year later. I have had the best Gym experience Ever from being trained by John. I have been able to walk into that Gym with my head held high and hit the equipment with such confidence because of his training. However, in the last 2 months there, the managerial positions in the company are horrific! Michael Coe is a disgrace to even have the title of Manager. What Michael needs to be doing is making sure the toilet paper, Paper Towels and cleaning spray is being properly stocked. Also, he needs to make sure the broken Gym equipment is fixed. Michael is a Coward thats why youll never see him on the Gym Floor. 5 Stars to John Stefanowicz, 0 Stars to Management!

PRO: Has great equipment, crossfit training room, movie cardio room, delicious protein shakes, tanning, variety of classes, movie screen on every cardio machine.But the staff do not have a good upkeep.CONS: Paper towel stations to wipe down equipment are always empty, bathrooms have tiolet paper on floor even in the morning, ripped up thin mats, poor weekend hours, gets SUPER packed during busy hours, only one waterfountain station that has luke warm water. I also dont like the bikes in the cycling room. They dont have gears they just have a knob to turn to change the resistance. Never know what resistance you are actually using.I will continue to go here because its super close to my new place, but its not the ideal gym. Hope this review helps!

Be ware of this place. They get you on the back end with cancellation fees and making it very difficult to cancel your membership when you move away.

I was charged $58 for a mistake they did. Went in to get my refund they told it will take 2 weeks never received it. Went in again then they told me it will take a month and almost a year later still havent received my refund smh

I love the staff. They are always friendly and the equipment is well maintained.

They charge a $39 maintanance fee annually. When they say the mongly fee is $10. Do not trust them. It is actually ~$14. They hid the fee in the contract without mentioning to you.

Not at all $10 like advertised. theres a $50 sign on fee, and then a yearly Club Enhancement Fee thats around $50. If you try to get out of your yearly contract you have to do it a month ahead of time, and theres around another $60 opt out fee if you do it before your year is up.In order to have access a good chunk of the gym you need to be a premium member which is $20 a month. Without that you cant go in the exercise bike room, or two other group rooms. Overall its an average gym. Seriously lacking in abdominal machines (only 2). Adequate cardio machines if thats your thing. Only two squat racks and one smith machine. Its just a mehhh gym

4.5/5Pros:-For $10/month, you really cant beat it.-Tons of cardio equipment (treadmills, elliptical, bikes)-Small turf training area-Functional training room for HIIT workouts with a power rack-Lots of weightlifting machines and various free weight equipment (2 squat racks, 2 incline benches, 1 decline bench, 3 flat benches, 2 smith machines, and a bunch of flat/incline benches for dumbbells).-Pretty clean.-The crowd is mostly friendly and while it is crowded at the surge times (4-7pm), it isnt unmanageable most days.-It isnt a Planet Fitness style gym or crowd. There are some serious lifters here, but theres also plenty of people who stick to the cardio and classes, and the gym accommodates for both types of crowds.Cons:-Lack of some equipment: The power rack in the FTR is only usable for one person since the other hooks are missing.-Need more squat/power racks, as these are incredibly versatile and in high demand.-Another flat bench would be welcome as well.-Having another 2 Barbells around would also solve the crisis of not having enough barbells for each piece of strength equipment.

Great gym. Everything is clean, in working order and I have never had to wait for a machine.

My wife has been waiting over 2 months for a refund of $480. I have called many times to get this straightened out and Mike is never around. I find it totally unprofessional that I cant even get a phone call back.

The hours were great when extended and 24 hours, now they are back to the same terrible hours but close an hour earlier during the weekdays than they used to..?

I was attending spin classes regularly but the instructors got worse and worse as they couldnt get anyone to stay permanently. More and more bikes started breaking and wouldnt get fixed. Then I was told they would waive my late fee (which I shouldve never gotten) and I waited 6 weeks, calling every week, and still never got the fee waived. So upset I wasted my money and time here.

Wish I could rate them a zero. They told me that I signed for 6 months then when I went to cancel it they told me I was signed up for a year. This is the second time they have done this to me. never again will I sign up for this gym.
