My new favorite place for auto work. I called around to get an estimate for a suspension modification for my Tesla Model 3, Griffin seemed the most reasonable. Some of the online Tesla forums suggested Griffin Motorwerke as the place to go. I made my appointment with Nate earlier in the week. When I arrived, car was taken back right away and work done efficiently and well. I’m very impressed by the size of the shop, cleanliness, and skills of the staff. Great place I wish I’d found long ago.

This is NO run of the mill or lets make a deal shop! These guys will research, diagnose and road test until they find the problem with your toy/ride/car.They will follow up with you with information during diagnoses to let you know the exact parts needed to repair, tune, or increase horsepower and torque for complete enjoyment!Remember, you pay for what you get! Top notch service is not cheap, but, these guys dont break the bank, very fair, nice clean facility, looks like an auto clinic with a bunch of doctors fron Greys Anatomyexcept, They know what they are doing!My Volvo was repaired and Jaguar was serviced here.Great experience and job! 10

Ive been scrambling to find a good shop for my A4, which I definitely could treat a bit better.I was definitely feeling hesitant to start a search for a shop, especially being new to owning a European car. I was recommended Griffin by a friend of mine and from the moment I called, everything was super easy and detail oriented. It was nice to have someone put attention to detail to the minor details. From my appointment reminders, to all the details they listed about my repair. Although I only came in for a 5k service, they let me know about everything I should know about the car. Somehow, I didnt expect this level of service for such a reasonable price.A week later, my car feels perfect, Im not stressed about taking my car in for future repairs *knocks on wood in Audi reliability*, and I didnt even have to dig into my recreational fun funds!Pro tip, most car shops that I called are scheduling a couple of weeks out, so if your car needs service soon, call ahead of time!

2019 SQ5 in for a MTM Cantronic tune. Waited for car while it was worked on. Huge area, socially distanced for waiting, with tons of great automotive related magazines to pass the time. As for the tune, the HP is definitely there, but I may be jaded, or just expected more, as the late great Mark Donohue once said, too much horsepower is just about enough. As for the application, the tune is seamless, almost as if an OEM engineer designed and implemented, no stumbles, gaps in delivery or quirks. As an added bonus, it looks great under-hood. Highly recommended for those looking for additional HP. As an added bonus, over the course of the next 3,000 miles, experienced a 1 MPG increase in economy, and it has been exercised regularly, I fully expect this to be permanent . As a disclaimer, in the interest of full disclosure, I have been a customer of Griffin Moterwereke for the over 30 years, and know Terry and his staff very well. Some things never change, the passion for the cars, the interest in safe performance upgrades, and most importantly, the knowledge of the products they endorse and of course, knowledge of the platforms they specialize in, VW, Porsche, Audi. Would highly recommend Griffin Motowerke for anyone looking for solid, proven performance upgrades, and those in search of an alternative to going to the dealership.

I brought my car to Griffen with a mystery ailment, after a phone call where I described what was going on and the owner diagnosed and explained the problem over the phone. The team took the engine apart until they discovered a faulty install by the dealer that caused the problem. I was kept in the loop on every step, they documented the issue so I can try to get reimbursed by the dealer, and the car is good as new.

Very professional and pleasant from start to finish. They troubleshot a tricky issue with a piston strut with ease. Will definitely be bringing my vehicles back to Griffin.

These guys are excellent. Ordered Michelin tires for my car (which are asymmetrical), they noticed that they came with 2 of the ones spec’d for my vehicle, but then the delivery service included two tires for the Porsche GT3. Obviously, they noticed something was off and that the tires were slightly different. They made sure to get the other two tires in the right spec. A lot of shoddy work gets done in the auto world, and I may not have noticed the subtle differences on the sidewall. They were also very diligent and thorough when performing inspections. All the guys here love driving and bare very knowledgeable about performance maintenance, modifications and repairHighly recommend.

Had Griffin Motorwerke install Bilstein coilovers on my Audi A3 a few months back. Blokes there are very knowledgeable, answering all my questions prior to, during and after install. Curly was great, facilitating the install, got my car back in for final height adjustments after the suspension settled. They did an awesome job on the suspension, rides like new and looks way better at lowered ride height. Looking forward to going back to them for other modifications I have in mind.

I was looking for a good old VW bug mechanic and feel like I got lucky finding these guys. I’ll admit my tail was a between my legs pulling up next to the Porsches and Maseratis but Terry pulled out all the stops from scoring hard to find parts to getting greasy. Dont make the mistake of taking your car somewhere else because youre not going to find better.I got a New Beetle 2013 in November with low mileage and in the 4 months I had the car my battery went out, I got a crack in my power steering hose, and my front headlight went out. Curly and his guys were able to confirm my diagnosis of my car, quote me a fair price, and get it done in less than 24 hours. They even helped me with finding cool mods for my car and even were able to pop the hub caps to expose a really cool old school look to the tires/rims.Being a woman it can be intimidating going to car repair shops because they are notorious for ripping us off. Although I know the basics of how a car operates and the main bits and pieces, these guys are truly experts--car connoisseurs. Curly and his boys have gained my trust and my business, and most importantly they even gained my mothers trust :)

My Porsche mechanic of the last ten years retired and I had to find another place to go. I found Griffin through great reviews and my experience so far has been totally in line with those reviews. Peter took the time to give me a tour of his very impressive facilities. The did an oil change at very reasonable price and gave me a ride back home after dropping off my car. I went back to have my headlights polished to remove the haze and Im very pleased with those results, too. I will be coming back here regularly (and hopefully for only scheduled maintenance!).

The Crew here at Griffin took care of me and my car. Curly ordered the parts and scheduled me for the install. During the install I was able to wait while the mounted my wheels and tires. Car turned out great and will be coming back for more parts in the future.

The guys at the shop are awesome. They did a good job with replacing my upper control arms and alignment on my S4. Made adjustments to help reduce my cars pulling to one side. Will be taking the car back for future work. The owner of the shop was in Formula 1 for years so its nice to be around people that care about cars. Its great to finally find a shop I dont have to stress about touching my car. Would highly recommend checking them out if you need any repairs on your Audi.

They monopolize all of the parking spots on 5th next to the soccer fields, which is super annoying for anyone who has to pick up and drop off kids for soccer.

Griffin is that rare company that cares about quality and value. That’s a hard thing to manage, but their 20+ years in the business shows. I can’t think of any mechanic I trust more than Griffin Motorwerke. You might find it “cheaper” some place else, but those savings will disappear over the long term. Griffin does it right the first time and won’t let it leave the shop unless they know the problem is fixed.

If you love cars, and if you own a car, they will love you. The owner Terry Griffin is just a general gear head that gets it, he took what dealerships did and made an autoshop that does it as good if not better. The service team is as good as (Dealership Name Here). I felt like I was in a modified Audi dealer ship with better jokes and tons of nice cars to look at. If you havent been just stop by! I came from SF and I cannot see myself going anywhere else for aftermarket or regular service.

The steering wheel, drivers floor mat are protected.How could the experience have been better? Maybe having a touch less filtered water dispenser in waiting area, protecting the drivers seat with a cover, shuttle service(?- I didn’t ask, though, so maybe it’s offered).I’ve made a follow up appointment for some suspension work and will be going back for my service and upgrade needs for my vehicles in the future. We popped a tire on our trailer on the freeway through Berkeley and discovered too late we didnt have a star to get it off. Waddled around for about an hour looking for a place the was both open and willing to give us a hand. Not only did the staff here lend a star free of charge, they also helped us get the popped one off and our spare on. Cant recommend the place enough for solid customer service!
