I cannot recommend this place enough! I got a flat tire in San Francisco at around 7:30pm, and my car doesnt have a spare so I needed to get it towed. When I called triple AAA they said all the places around me were closed so I would need to get it either 1. towed back to my house or 2. towed somewhere else. I looked up some places near where I live that I could have my car towed and Big o Tires came up. I called them to see if I could have my car towed there and they said no problem, I would just need to leave my car there and come back in the morning since they would likely be closed by the time i got there. They close at 8 and I got there around 8:30 and Marcus was so nice and helped me out with getting my information and taking my key even though they were already closed.He was super communicative the next day, got my tire replaced and my oil changed the day of at a super affordable price. It was a really unfortunate day, but Marcus helped turn my situation around and helped me out so much. The guy at the counter was also super helpful when I came to get my car, and answered all the questions I had.I will DEFINITELY be coming back here!

I find Earlie and the whole crew here at Big O incredibly responsive to all my tire issues, which have been common and frequent here in a town full of construction work and bad streets. I see them at least three to four times a year, they always are quick and dependable in fixing what needs to be fixed, and I’m now on my third set of tires from them. They helped me fit chains to my tires this last winter and they’re always professional and friendly.

I always bring my car here. Ask for Mr.Turner. I have to go back something is wrong with the brakes. Im sure it wont be a problem.

Great service! I had my TireRack.com purchase of 4 new tires sent there, then used their mobile tire replacement. They couldve been a bit tighter on their arrival estimate, but all worked out fine. (More specifically, the guy showed up a few hours ahead of schedule, but called about an hour ahead of arriving to let me know.)Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and professional. And the mobile service, with them receiving my online order of tires and bringing them to me, was so convenient. Id definitely recommend it!

Service was performed on time, communication was good. I assume the essential service, an oil change and tire rotation, was performed correctly. However, the service reminder light on my control panel was not reset.

Last week I paid for a brand new set of Big O tires. One of them was completely flat the next day (after being parked in a secure private home garage). After dealing with an incredibly rude employee who immediately blamed me for the problem, I paid for a tow to take the car in. Big O said they couldn’t find anything wrong with the tire and refused to replace the one that had gone flat “for no apparent reason”. I told them it was a safety concern to send me out with a tire that goes flat “for no reason” and they should stand behind their products and switch it out for a new one. They refused. Please don’t waste your time or your money here or put you and your family’s safety at risk by using their products.

The crew on site were helpful and friendly. The reservation booking system online was useless however. I made a reservation to have the tires changed while I waited. When I showed up for my reservation I was told my tires were not stocked and had been special ordered that morning. Good news was they would arrive later the same day. I came back the next day and dropped the car off and received a call that the job was done in about 3 hours.

I’ve been going to big O for years now. It appears that my experience just keeps getting better and better. Honestly. Super helpful folks, not the least of which is explaining to me exactly what the problems are and exactly what the repairs are going to cost. The clarity is very helpful. Super accommodating in terms of scheduling and working with my own insane schedule.

The young man who registered my car concerns was expedient, professional and demonstrated excellent communication skills. He clearly explained what was needed to get me safely in operation. I called ahead and spoke with Will, gave me a quote for alignment. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. I also needed new tires and he helped me get a good deal on basic tires because I have an old car (2003) and I told him, I didnt want to spend top dollar. I appreciated the service and I would definitely come back again next time I need service. Also, while waiting for my car, I took a stroll down the street to Third Culture Bakery for a treat, only three blocks away.

Extremely helpful and courteous. When I ordered the wrong tires for my car, they were able to help me find another pair in my price range same-day. They also waited until the last minute to stay open so I could retrieve my car after fighting through traffic.

One of the worst customer service I experienced. One of Their service person backed up into my car and damaged the front.Rather than apologising and offering to fix it, they started blaming me and went on telling my it’s my fault and I was not parked correctly. I had a pregnant wife in the car and he didn’t even both to ask how she was doing.The damage was secondary, it was the staff’s rude and unapologetic behaviour that was not acceptable.Never coming back here.Please be careful when you are dealing with them. They will not take any liability for any damage even if it’s caused by them

The process was quick and I am grateful to Big O for taking my car which was already on a flat. The service was fast, reliable and the tires were professionally mounted. I havent had a problem yet with them.

My boyfriend took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. He asked twice to make sure the tires were filled as I have one that was lower than the rest. He was assured it was done and my tires were filled to 36 and “were all fine”. The paperwork says front and back pressures were 35. This was a lie. I checked my pressure after and the one was still only 31 and the others were at the same pressure they were before. The low tire is in the same place so they didn’t even rotate and align them like they said. If they lie about simple things like filling my tires, how can I be sure they even changed my oil and didn’t just top it off a little? Lazy and dishonest.

Review is for wheel alignment on my 84 volvo 240 at my local Berkeley Big O... service was easy and prompt. where another shop did a sloppy job and returned a poorly aligned vehicle, Big O took the time to correctly align my vintage car and test drive to confirm. car has the best alignment it’s had in a long time and drives straight as an arrow. I was not particularly happy with my most recent experience. I explicitly scheduled an appointment and took time off of work instead of coming in on a weekend so that we would be close to the estimated completion time of 1.5 hours. At the 2 hour mark, they hadnt even started! Whats the point of an appointment then? I only have one car so I basically became trapped all afternoon for a simple oil change in a part of town where no cafes, restaurants were open. Im giving 2 stars because one of the two individuals behind the counter was friendly and apologetic.

I had a flat tire or rather a fast leak. I was prepared to except the cost of replacing not just one but two tires. Which most places would be happy to charge... not only did the manager try to talk me out of it but when his technician came to work on the car, he also talked me out of replacing the tire and assured me that he could repair it! Customer service at its best. Its rare to see that, these days!

I purchased my own new brakes and rotors for my van and brought them in for my appointment. I called 2 weeks before to schedule the appointment and I was quoted a price of $140 for the labor to repair. I show up for my appointment, and Im greeted. I gave him my information and he immediately starts to write it up a more expensive quote. When I questioned him, he was adamant about the new price of $167. I immediately felt I was baited and switched. I was in a bind having to get the work done immediately so I had to take the higher price. Then, I asked him about repairing my 3 door locks. I had booked that also. My locks had been vandalized and needed repair. I ordered the brand new locks and brought them with me. Basically it was just switching out. The doors were ready for that. Then, he tells me $300 per lock! I almost fell to my knees. Im going by the book pricing and its 1 1/2 hour to do so. I couldnt get him to understand that this was a ridiculous estimate. I already hadthe doors apart to just swap it out in less than 30 minutes, maximum. To me, this was a really good reason to not go back there and to switch to a better brake business. Now, Ive got to start looking for another place to replace my door locks. I cant do the job myself because I dont have the necessary tools needed for repair

From the front desk staff to the mechanics they are all courteous.helpful & knowledgeable about the products you sell to what needs to be done .I would Recommend that big O facility to my friends and family oh they are very efficient

Terrible service and rude people. I would give 0 star if I could. An Asian American at the front desk is especially very very RUDE!! (I’m an Asian, but I must say he is rude). When I came to order for new tires, this man interrupted my words for several times and didnt listen to my question. He just kept promoting their services . And after I dropped off my car for one hour, he called me that they couldnt find the lock to dismount the wheels. I told him it was in a L-shape black bag in the trunk but he told me they still not found it (This bag contains tire and wheel relevant tools and is standard for a Volkswagen. Before, two other tire shops found the lock by themselves without any problems ).I called him to give further instruction, he interrupted me and hang up the phone directly. When I came to the store, I found the bag that contains the lock has been moved by them. I guess they didnt open the bag. Everyone can see the lock directly if he opened the bag. It is a very easy thing but I dont know why they are so stupid. They didnt show any respect to customers and refused to communicate with customers.

I always come to Big O tires, I think they do a decent job for the right price but this time I was not completely satisfied with my service. I have a 2013 Nissan Altima recently its oxygen sensor was fixed here also, I was having another problem with its gear shifter. So, they have this wonderful guy name Steven suggested me it would be cheaper for me if I bring my own parts and they will only charge me labor fees which I thought would be cost effective compared to my other options. Looking for days I finally found the part, took it back. I asked them to give me an appointment for 3pm which they can’t do, whole different topic. They want me to come as early as possible so I manage to get there Saturday morning. Left the car there, had bought my bike so cycled 40 mins back home got a call within an hour, cycled back again. Went there paid them and drove off when I got home I noticed something off about gear shifter. Gear shifter was not completely sealed. The circumference of a gear stick has a little gap in it, any small or little things could easily slide in and you can see inner workings of gear shifter. I go there anxiously this guy name Kevin comes out and says it is suppose to be like that, suggested me using DIY cardboard to cover the gap and said other pantomime. I was totally flabbergasted and speechless. Felt exactly like the scene from movie Billy Madison’s debate scene.

I did not have an appointment yet the Big O team took my vehicle right in and called me when the service was completed. Great service, friendly team members and I will definitely bring my other vehicles here for service.

Marcus was everything I could ask for. He explained his inspection process while looking at my tires with me. He gave me recommendations based on my tire size and usage. He found the best Black Friday deal for what I wanted, and modified the quote as I requested. (I checked online for comparable quotes and reviews of the tires he quoted, and found the prices more than fair and the reviews good.) Then the team did a thorough job inspecting the rest of the car, including notifying me that I was critically low on oil. There was another Black Friday deal on the oil change, so I let them do it. I dropped the car off at noon on a busy Monday, and my car was ready by 5pm with 4 new tires, wheels balanced and aligned, full inspection complete, and oil and filter changed. 10/10 would recommend. Hadn’t been to the Big O on San Pablo Ave. for years. While it definitely needs a face lift the people working their a very friendly and thorough. Especially in these times when you never know what someone is going through. Everyone was courteous and respectful. I will continue to use their business for my tire needs.

I was real happy with my first experience at Big O. Will ordered a set of tires they didnt have in stock and they arrived and were on my car within 24 hours. Id expected a fair amount of brake work to be needed and had approved of their price on new pads and rotors but after an inspection I was not charged for Will told me my brakes had plenty of life left and that I should keep my money. Will answered all the questions I had but theyre busy over there so dont be surprised if the transaction feels fast-paced.

Right ?Fools charged me over $300.oo for 2 $75.00 tires mounted & balanced is NOT $300.oo I went back following day & the Big-Boss realized his workers were rippin people off & not very good at it. She explained every part of the process and gave perfect estimates on timing.My Pirelli run flat had 3 nails in it . I walked down to Rainbow donuts on University and picked up a dozen to thank them.I also tipped the guy who actually changed my tire $40 (it was only $230 for my new tire). We used to know people who operated a Big O Tires in Fremont. When the place closed, I found the shop in Newark. Horrible service there. I almost lost hope of finding a Car Doctor that didnt just wanna pad their bills.Big O Tires on San Pablo Ave. is a no nonsense, down home shop. Instead of suggesting minor repairs in a dramatic tone, they will let you know whats up and if you should even worry about it.If you get to the point, they will get to your car as soon as they find the window. They dont always operate on a queue basis if 4 our of 9 cars in the shop are just needing a rotation or a change.But if youre vague, they will take extra time to make sure they know everything YOU need to know.

Apparently the warranty on the four new tires I bought a few months ago didnt cover the replacement of the tire I needed today. I was never offered/informed about a tire replacement plan when I purchased the tires. Nor was I informed when I called and explained the situation (flat tire) that my warranty didnt cover my flattened tire, and there could be potential charges. $116 dollars worth.Update: got another flat🤦🏾‍♀️. Excellent customer service, provided me with all the details before during and after service, and were extremely accommoding! Thank you!

I saw the evaluation of your store is very great on the Internet, so I chose to visit your store as soon as I had a problem with my tires. I arrived at the store at 2pm on May 17th and chose to replace the two front tires.  According to the store’s requirements, two new tires were placed on the back, and the two orginal tires were placed on the front.  After three hours of long waiting, it was finally completed.  When I left the shop, I found that the noise of the vehicle was very loud, similar to the sound of entering a tunnel, which became more obvious after the high speed, and the steering wheel was shaking.  Then I immediately returned to the store and told the staff, but the staff said that he was too busy and there was no time to deal with it that day.  I had to drive the car with trouble and go home very unsafely.  I arrived at the store at 9:40 today. After more than two hours of waiting, I exchanged the positions of the front and back tires. The staff told me it was OK.  On the way home, the noise disappeared, but the steering wheel shaking more severely after reaching 50 miles per hour (on the high speed), which seriously affected driving safety, so I had to return to the store again at 3 pm to communicate with the staff.  During this two times communications, the staff repeatedly promoted the alignment and asked me to replace the other two slightly worn tires.  I did not agree. I think Im uncomfortable of them not to deal with the problem but to repeatedly promote the product.  I did not agrre to buy product and just ask them to help me deal with the problem of steering wheel shaking.  After another waiting, the problem was finally resolved.  I can finally released.  I only want to change two tires at first, but it took me about 7 hours to solve. The first time it took three hours, the second time three hours, and the third time more than one hour, and the replacement was completed.  This experience is very disappointing, so disappointing!

I appreciate that before I got my foot in the door, I was greeted by name. I dropped my car off and I wasnt pressured into buying anything. It was suggested that I get two new tires because one had a slit but other than that the experience was a good one. They accepted my groupons so I was able to save some money. It wasnt my first time taking my car there and it wont be the last!

What they said was done/ what was noted in the paperwork and what was marked as completed on the sticker on my window was different, which weakens confidence. . .. hopefully just a mistake . They did not go over the diagnostics with me. I had to ask about it.And when I asked about the timing of the work, I got a somewhat defensive answer, instead of explaining that the overall tone estimate still applied, would been more useful and friendly . I had a SUPER unprofessional experience with Big O Tires mobile installation and will never use them again.I was scheduled for morning installation on a Friday and arranged my day around the appointment ($100 more than having the tires mounted as my preferred tire shop, but worth it for the convenience). I got a call just before the originally scheduled installation time that one of their vans was having issues and they asked to reschedule to 2pm, which I rearranged my schedule to accommodate. By 3:45pm, no one had called or showed up and I had to leave for my (rescheduled) 4pm appointment. I called Big O to figure out what was going on and spoke with Greg, who apologized for the mixup, then told me the installer was stuck in traffic. We told him wed have to reschedule to a different day, since we had already left home.The installer called about 15 minutes later, agitated that we were not home. He said he had driven all they way to us and complained angrily to me (the customer) that no one from the Big O office had called him to tell him about the change of plans and that we had wasted his time by having him drive to our house when we werent even there. He then said that he was not aware of any scheduled time that he was supposed to have arrived to us, and thus was not late. Seriously.When the installer showed up for the appointment the following Monday, he did a perfectly fine job, but by then Id blown up a Fridays worth of plans and been berated by the vendors installer after he was more than two hours late, a convenience that cost me an extra $100.Never ever using Big O again.
