The staff in office are very nice anytime I call or go inside. Maintenance has been good too. We had some problems to list after move in and they did them all in one visit. We really like all the events they do!
I have had a great experience with Sterling. I moved into the Allston building in a upgraded apartment. We love the new kitchen that came with it. All the staff have been helpful and friendly as well. Were looking forward to the study room and rooftop spaces with theyre finished.
I moved into one of their upgraded apartments. It is very nice and we are close to campus. The office staff is very nice and they always have snacks for you when you go in and now free coffee on a tap machine.
The staff is incredible friendly, especially Angela and Nyema. I was super nervous to move back and they made me feel so welcome and comfortable and i love it!
Very clean, maintenance is excellent. Very close to campus and good view. Good internet. Very up to date and modern conpared to many other apartments I looked at. Would recommend.

I live in the Allston building and absolutely love it. The staff and maintenance are extremely responsive and quick. Any issue we have has in the apartment has been quickly resolved and everyone has been extremely kind in helping with whatever we need. SBC also makes living here fun by doing social media giveaways and having different activities for all residents! Highly recommend SBC to all Berkeley students :)
I really enjoyed my interaction with the Sterling Berkley team regarding housing. Everyone was very informative and helpful regarding all of my questions about the surrounding area, distance to attractions and overall needs in an apartment.
I have lived here 2 years and have enjoyed the changes being made. The new management is great and always helps with with maintenance requests. I recommend!
Really appreciate the management teams effort for building supportive and responsive living conditions. Sterling has responsive maintenance team ; the request could be responded within a day. It also holds various and diverse activities for creating a more friendly community. We really enjoy the experience with Sterling.
Love all the new events the new management has hosted. They take time to get to know their residents and maintain a healthy environment during COVID!

I got a pretty good deal for my room! I currently live in a double bedroom apartment, sharing a room with my Cal Golden Bear Orientation friend. My place is right across from campus and is also located downtown as well. Two very convenient aspects to living at this location! Management is also very awesome! They really take care of their customers and are willing to help out whenever possible! Nikhil is super cool and helps me with my packages or keys all the time.

Since the new ownership, I have loved living here! Not only does the leasing office host different fun apartment community events, such as grocery bingo or decorating holiday cookies, they are also very attentive to any issues or concerns. The staff is also very helpful and are always open to new suggestions!
Great management. A lot better than the previous management company. Hold tons of activities and respond to us in time. Resolves emergencies quickly.
Sterling Jefferson’s new management has begun to change the conditions that it used to have and is willing to hear feedback. For instance, after our laundry machine broke, they replaced it immediately. The staff is very geared towards its college audience.

One of the residents here. Great services and responses to fixes(ex. Broken door knob) are very fast.
Sterling has been a great new owner of this building (former Berkeleyan). They host pretty cool welcoming events for residents and are quick at responding to maintenance requests.
They overcharge many of their tenants and honestly the only good things about this place is maybe location. Besides that, the rooms are tiny for the price they charge, they are not that nice, and the layout is terrible, with room doors that face directly to the front door. They have no facilities that they also claim to have, especially for Sterling Oxford.
Pretty good, lots of nice administration and mini events! The rent is a little bit high though...
I really love it!!! It would be better if you inform the activity a little earlier!! It’s a fantastic experience living here!!

No direct line to leasing office. Resident packages are not tracked appropriately (from my outside in observation). One member of management offered to tour and meet me onsite at my apartment of interest. Come next day, this member of the management team did not meet me for the viewing, left blame to me for not following proper meeting protocol (even though they originally said I could follow a special meeting protocol), and offered no apology for the confusion until I was finally walking out of the leasing office.No additional support outside of a meeting reschedule was provided.

Incredibly disorganized and greedy leasing group. Continually refused to show up for service appointments and then made false charges on account after move-out. Erroneous charges showed up even after multiple attempts at trying to correct them. No internal communication and incredibly hard to work with.

Since I am still at China, which means I dont have the Routing Bank Number, and I was never reminded that there was such a thing before the day I got the email that informed me that I was already charged the late fee, which is 240 dollar. So, in order to pay the balance due in time, my roommates have paid 3500 dollars today by credit cards and I want to know if we can pay the rest fees when we arrived Berkeley at 16th Aug.Under this situation, I think the late fee is not acceptable since we were never reminded by your customer services and we paid money to you as soon as possible after I got the email.Thank youTianchen Wang
Great place to live in
The leasing office made our move out process very difficult, and the miscommunication between themselves probably caused papers to be misplaced, leading to a delay in our deposit repayment (21 days after move-out is the legal deadline). Not a good experience :(
