Horrible experience. I wish I would have read the reviews before taking my car there. My 01 civic started showing signs of something not right with transmission. Ran and drove, shifted a little hard from 2nd to 3rd, but drove. It had only started doing that 1 day before taking it to Garys and when I picked it up, wouldnt even go in gear. The guy working, only guy I ever saw or spoke with, never mentioned it wouldnt drive. He had it for less than 24 hours. All he said was I need a new transmission. I got in my car to heat it up, and he drove off a little too quickly. Never gave me a receipt, or paperwork diagnosing the problem. Sketchy. I would NOT recommend taking your vehicle to this place. There are many more reviews like mine, you just have to search. For some reason all of the good reviews are 1st. But I did find out the good reviews came from when this guys dad owned the place. From what I hear, he took over and the place has gone downhill. Please do your research so you dont end up like me.

I dropped my truck off Wednesday night and they had it done and back to me by Friday at noon and it drives fine so far. Reasonable prices even gave me a military discount.

While on a road trip from Chicago to DC, we experienced brake troubles and had to take the car to a shop. Gary’s was the only place we contacted who could see us the same day and the fellow at the front desk was very friendly and forthcoming with information. We dropped the car off at 10:30/11 and were on the road again by 5 with an update on progress in between. I don’t know anything about how much automotive work should cost but it didn’t seem like they took us for a ride (pun intended). We are so thankful Gary’s!

My rebuilt transmission cost $2600.. and then it lasted 2 days. Left my 2 toddlers and I stranded over an hour from the shop. Jeff said they wont honor their warranty. Previous trans had 90k miles, no issues ever.

Jeff at Garys Transmission helped me out immensely! I broke down along I-80 near Cleveland, and the tow truck driver recommended Garys. He towed me there and I explained how my clutch had blown as I was driving to my new job outside Philly. Jeff and his crew got me back on the road on time, and on budget. They wished me well on my new venture and I got in my car and found it worked great!Glad I found Garys.

I would highly recommend Garys Transmission. I thought my transmission needed to be completely rebuilt and as it turned out they were honest with me and it only needed the forward clutch replaced saving me $$$...Thanks Jeff and Al.

Overpriced for the unprofessional work they do. Dont get yourself stuck with these guys and their warranty. Ive since taken my car elsewhere, and wouldnt recommend Garys to my worst enemy. And who reviews their own place, and brings up personal issues with a former customer online? So unprofessional, but not surprising. Just like their work. 0 stars.

Stay away from these hacks. Shady business practices, and bad work. Long story short, youd probably be better off at Aamco.
