I find myself getting haircuts in many different cities. I generally search Google for Aveda Salon, and schedule a haircut one of those that show up. Knowing that each Salon is independently operated, I understand that their practices vary. Generally, a haircut would start with a scalp massage, then perhaps a quick trim with clippers (if we are going that route) on the back and sides, then a hair wash. While conditioner is in the hair, a hot towel is put on the face. A nice touch at this point is a hand massage, although those are getting more and more hard to find. After the towel is removed, the hair is rinsed, the haircut continues and concludes.The Zante website defines a mans haircut as including a scalp massage with botanical oil, and a shampoo cut and style. The haircut that I received did not include a scalp massage, nor did it include a shampoo. The cut I received was a 3.5 out of 5, but the experience was more a 2.I enjoy the extras that are often included in a salon & spa environment, and dont mind paying a little more for them. Especially if they are advertised on their website, I dont expect to have to remind the stylist that I should be getting a scalp massage or a shampoo.
This is the 3rd time I have had Michelle do my hair and I absolutely love it!! i showed her a photo and I think my hair turned out better than the photo! she is also conscious about protecting my hair and will be honest about the damage that can happen to your hair if you use certain things/techniques. She is very knowledgeable and also does a great blowout!!I also have used Marianne for lashes and she does a great job too! she listens every time I tell what I am looking for/wanting! Both of these women are very professional and I feel well taken care of when I am there. The salon is clean and I would recommend either of these services at Zante!
I LOVE Zante and am so grateful for them. I have been seeing my stylist Julie for over a year. Back then I was fried and dyed. I came to Zante for help and I am so happy with what has been accomplished in that time beautiful, healthy, happy blonde hair. Thank you Julie at Zante. I highly recommend this salon to everyone right in the heart of Bend.
Great attention to detail - amazing haircut and neck shave with Julie. The whole place is focused on safety and cleanliness with the whole COVID pandemic. Was great to see that barbershop services are available at Zanté. Will certainly be back for my next haircut...and the next one. Thanks!
During a consultation a “master stylist” here said she could absolutely nail a hair color I showed her a photo of, so I went ahead and booked an appointment for the following day. She went too dark, making a critical mistake in the application of the toner. Came back the next day to “fix” it, and the color correction was a flop. 4.5 hours and two hair dyes later, they ended up refunding me because they knew they messed up and lacked a stylist experienced enough to fix their mistakes. No genuine apology or attempt to make me feel better about their lack of skill or how it was handled. Very disappointed in this experience. If they are going to carry the Aveda name that so many of us trust, they need work harder to level up.
I had a very unprofessional experience here. I would have paid twice the price to have gotten what I actually ordered. I am usually confident in any store that has the Aveda brand on it.I am here trying to dress up for my wife on our 9 year anniversary. I simply had 2 requests before I came in. Sierra was the receptionist and immediately promised they could accommodate my requests. I confirmed a total of three times and each time Sierra said Yes! We are all good.!He spent ten minutes on me, he was unable to full fill my requests. I was not only double booked, he was unable to finish my cut akdnmoved on to the next person.I paid, tipped (standard amount) and walked out the door and into another salon paid another $40.00 for them to finish the job.If you are going to carry the Aveda name.... youve really have to try harder. :/
We had booked with Zantes because Marie was very good at communicating with us and was trying to get us what we wanted, which was 2 massages at the same time with females, deep tissue and prenatal. A week before we had our massages she called, a female masseuse had quit. She went the extra mile for us and found us exactly what we wanted at another spa. Even though we werent able to have our massages at Zantes, their customer service should be recognized as exceptional.
They are very Snobby! They need to really work on Greeting every guests, not just their favorite ones. Food and drink are great! Would go more often if they had a better attitude at the front door.
Walked in and browsed the hair care products for a bit turned and looked at the two ladies at the front of the store and then returned to browsing picking up a few different products and not once was I even acknowledged or greeted. Said thank you for your help and walked out...
I drove a client here for an appointment. She had a few things scheduled so we were there quite awhile. The staff was very nice. They kept up conversations and offered me drinks (water, coffee or tea) frequently. Impressed, I decided to return for my own service only to be met with a completely different experience. While my companion on this occassion was offered water, coffee, tea, wine...ect...i was offered nothing. I got the haircut i wanted but it was also nothing special and not an outstanding experience worthy of the price.
This was my first time in Bend and was looking for a relaxing experience. Scheduled an appointment for a massage at Zante and was booked with Wendy. She is amazing! It was perfect! It was an incredible experience and I will definitely be back to see Wendy again.
Their are a number of really great stylists here. Personally I would chose Michelle or Chris. Also Jess, a great stylist moved to the street to their barbershop.
I let my hair grow out, and it was a mess - very long and no real style. Erica helped me choose a style that worked for my hair. It turned out really cute, and I feel beautiful.
A visibly nice place, and good privacy walls. Two stars missing because too expensive to have to reschedule somewhere else to fix the mistakes that became obvious the next day. Luckily a friend unexpectedly covered most of the bill that day.

I had my wedding hair done here by Chloe. I LOVED it! She was patient and listened to my vision and worked to make it perfect. If you are a bride and your hair is bad the day of, it can ruin your day. Chloe helped make my wedding day incredible with her spot on talent for doing wedding hair.
The owner of Zante, Julie, is the BEST hair sculptor in town!!! Her artistic talent with my short hair has people often stopping me on the street, in the market, and on the trail asking where I got my haircut! Thank you, Julie!

I just relocated to the Bend area from Seattle and I was nervous about going to any salons, Ive had some bad experiences. I saw Christina and she was freaking incredible. My hair turned out EXACTLY how I wanted. She took so much time trying to find the color I wanted and it turned out so so so good!!
Yikes, where do I start. I booked Zante for hair and makeup for my wedding. When I showed up for my trial run, the receptionist Ashley was very lovely and excited for me. My stylist, Jenny, was not. I Showed her a picture of an updo that I had in mind, to which she bluntly said “I don’t do braids. They’re supposed to tell you I don’t do braids”. Okay.... so I showed her a second picture of a fairly simple updo. She immediately started after looking at the picture for two seconds, and didn’t say a single word to me. Awkward. At some point I felt so uncomfortable that I began to wonder what I could have possibly said to offend her. I could feel that she didn’t want to be there and was annoyed with me for some reason I didn’t understand. Anyway, she finished the hair in about 15 minutes and it looked awful. Absolutely nothing like my picture that I showed. I didn’t even know what to say, and I think she knew that it was terrible because she said something about my hair being too thick for the style I wanted - then why didn’t you say anything while you were doing my hair? We could have figured it out if you had bothered to engage with me at all.Moving on to makeup - also bad. I was given terrible inch long eyelashes and ended up with eyelash glue all over the place.Because I’m a pushover and not very confrontational, I paid and then left with the intent to cancel my wedding day hair and makeup and just do the darn thing myself. When I called to cancel, Ashley answered the phone and said she understood and that she wanted me to know that the way I was treated was unacceptable and the situation “had been taken care of”. Whatever that means, I was planning on just leaving it as it was and moving on.However, this is where things get extra bad. My now MIL got her hair done at Zante as well - she has someone there she really likes. She spoke to Ashley about the way I was treated, who then claimed to have been trying to reach out to me to offer me a refund! ZERO calls were made to me, this was just a lie. They were apparently wanting to give me a gift card.Two weeks later, I still heard nothing. My MIL went in to the salon again to complain, and she was able to get me a full refund (not a gift card). Apparently the receptionist had not spoken to her boss at all after promising my MIL she would speak to her manager about a refund.Long story short, I was treated rudely at this salon, and then lied to about making amends. I did end up getting a full refund but I would never recommend this salon. I would suggest to any of the stylists at Zante that they should find another salon with better employees and management.
Tried to schedule a foot soak and pedicure and honestly the communication was lacking. But after I was able to get an appointment I was extremely impressed with the treatment and level of professionalism. Would go again!
I recently went to Zante salon and Spa with my wedding party and future groom. I was more than impressed and pleased. Ive explored many different salons in Oregon, especially Aveda salons because I love the products and services. Zante was so accommodating for myself and guests and knowledgeable. On top of multiple extras the staff provided, we enjoyed mimosas and lunch service with our bridal package. My husband was so nervous about his salon experience but the staff made him so comfortable and welcome. Along with my massage and facial, we experienced the bridal makeup and hair updos performed by the stylist and were so pleased with the variety of options they offered. The staff was so well prepared and organized. I was extremely pleased with the prices as well because they included everything I needed and was affordable. I would highly recommend Zante Salon and Spa.

I went in to get my hair cut and wasnt really sure what I wanted, I had been talking to the reception lady and she got me totally amped on the style of a asymmetrical haircut. I was so excited and then I had a really bad cut, the lady wasnt sure what she was doing and it didnt really fit what I wanted for my hair. I came back a few days later and had the BEST service of my life. Chris did my hair and she talked me through washing techniques (like, not to wash my hair EVERY day cause it makes is more oily, who knew). How to style it while drying it, she listened to what I wanted and had fun with her knowledge. I would HIGHLY recommend her at Zante. I WILL be back to see her.
This shop is awesome! There are two Aveda shops in town, but this is the shop you we t to work on your hair!! Absolutely love them!!
Very disappointed. I made an appointment over the phone the day prior and when I arrived they didnt have my appointment. My whole day was planned on taking my daughter here. I had to get off work early (not an easy task), and she was excited and they couldnt accommodate her. I even called back the number that I called for the appointment and it was answered by zante. No accountability.
Awesome experience every time! Have been going to Zante for years for color and cut and would not consider going anywhere else.

I arrived at Zante Salon 10 minutes early to a busy reception area and was quickly checked in by the front desk (or so I thought). Ten minutes after my scheduled appointment I was now the ONLY person in the reception area and waiting for my appointment when the same person who supposedly checked me in questioned whether or not I had been check in. After some awkward back and forth it was discovered I had not been checked in and my stylist had been standing at the front chatting up the receptionist while I sat waiting. I was quickly rushed back for my haircut - no scalp, shoulder, and/or hand massage that is typical of an Aveda Salon. The rush to catch up was apparent when I got home to discover the left side of my hair is shorter than my right. I live in a rural community so the nearest Aveda Salon is approximately 4 hours away so that will be convenient to schedule an appointment to fix my hair. Leaving the salon the same person who checked me in asked me twice if I wanted a receipt, to which I responded yes each time - three guesses as to whether I left with a receipt. Sometimes cute isnt enough. This was not the Aveda experience I expected - I will not be returning to Zante Salon.

I honestly am pretty bummed with my experience here. I’ve never reviewed a place but kind of felt the need to. I have been getting my hair done at another salon and was a pretty bright blonde that went high up to my roots. I am naturally very dark so I lift with yellow and orange undertones. I love my actual hairdresser but remembered I used to always be toned with aveda V/B and it gave me the perfect cool toned blonde. I went in and specifically told the stylist to tone me with V/B, and she also said she would run a demi color near my roots to give it a smooth transition. Turns out I was definitely not toned with V/B, and my hair is MUCH darker. She brought the Demi brown color super far down on my hair so I have much less blonde now. My blonde pieces are now a dark beige blonde and they’re super ashy, to the point of looking grayish in any indoor lighting. I’m confused on how this happened because I was SO specific and gave her exactly what toner to use. Why use an ash on someone who requested violet blue? I feel like all my money spent on lifting my hair previous to this was absolutely wasted. I give two stars instead of one because my hair isn’t BAD and some people may like this look I guess. It’s just quite literally nothing at all what I wanted. Definitely will not be returning to Zante.

I have never felt compelled to post a negative review of a business before but I have simultaneously never felt so let down in any other customer service experience. Zantes Salon, of the Aveda salons, does not handle customer feedback/complaints properly. I was disappointed with my hair cut, it didnt reflect what I asked for and the stylist seemed unenthused. I felt like I was burdening her and she failed to follow through on what I asked for and left me with a hair cut that I cant wait to grow out. I waited to shower and style my hair myself to see how valid my complaint was, after expressing disappoint upon payment, only to be assured that I hated it. I called the next day to voice my complaints about the haircut/service and the front desk associate was compassionate yet powerless to do anything. She spoke with the owner of the salon, who put her in the position of calling me to say there would be no refund because clients have been dishonest in the past about their experiences and I could be doing the same. I was accused of lying, which is the cherry on top of this defeating experience. I dont need a refund, I paid for a service I received, I wanted to be treated with respect and to have my complaint heard. The appointment did not meet my expectations and I would have preferred not to pay but thats not what makes this a notably awful experience, its the way the manager and owner dismissed my complaint and in doing so showed their lack of concern for their customers. They had no time in their day to contact me directly. I live three hours away from Bend and am not interested in seeing another stylist, Im not interested in ever visiting this location again because every other haircut I have ever received has been superior.
