It needed a lot of stuff done, and after having done diagnostics that morning, they were able to get everything done for same-day pickup this evening.Husband said they were super friendly on the phone, and we were pleased with the pricing. We got a detailed summary on top of the invoice, which described what was done.The car drives so much better now. We definitely want to work with these guys in the future.

Spiteri’s is awesome! I used them for a pre-purchase inspection on a used car. Tom was super helpful on the phone and got me an appointment the same day, coordinating with me and the seller seamlessly. Then once the inspection was done, Chris walked me through the results and you could tell they did a really thorough job—he even pointed out tiny details like streaky windshield wipers and a cracked bushing on the radio antenna mount, in addition to doing thorough tests of the engine, emissions, all the various fluids, and much more. I ended up buying the car and so far I haven’t noticed any issues that they didn’t. This inspection made me feel way better about buying the vehicle, and my customer service experience couldn’t have been better. These guys are pros.

What a pleasant experience, I took my challenger in to have it looked at before my cross country trip to Miami. It was a pleasant surprise that Spiteris can actually do a full multi-point inspection in accordance with Dodge and even did more than what Dodge would have done. The staff was super friendly and attended me as soon as they could. I have always seen this shop on Old County growing up and I finally came in and I was very much pleasantly surprised. Everyone is very professional and I made it all the way to Miami without any car problems.

I went in to get my tires rotated since they were showing some wear. Sam checked and showed me that in fact the tires were unsafe and advised to replace the tires. Car had not been serviced for quite a few years Needed to get a smog certificate and wanted to get some other routine maintenance items done. They took us step by step what was suggested to have car brought up to date. Got new tires, new battery and definitely was not gouged price wise. This is hands down one of the BEST auto service shops you will ever find! Over the past four years the amazing staff at Spiteris has helped me keep my 1994 Mercury Villager minivan going until I could finally afford to buy another car. The Villager has over 220,000 miles on it and Spiteris has worked on it several times. They treat you like family and will take the time to walk you through/show you everything they found while your car is still up on the lift and thoroughly answer any and all questions you may have, no matter how basic/stupid they may seem. If you dont understand something they will make sure you do by the time you leave. They are extremely thorough, professional, honest, friendly and PATIENT! They will treat you better than a dealership. When it was no longer an option to keep repairing the Villager, I called Spiteris multiple times to ask for their opinion and advice during the grueling used car shopping process. They were never annoyed or bothered by my phone calls and always talked with me for as long as I needed, or called back within an hour if they were busy. Charlie in particular was an AMAZING resource and did a whole bunch of research on the computer while I was on the phone with him in order to help me zero in on the best option for my next car purchase. These are not your ordinary mechanics! They really care about each of their customers and seem to sincerely enjoy going above and beyond to help you out. Some other reviewers have complained about their prices, but they are definitely not exorbitant and honestly you get what you pay for and much, much more with these guys. You will not be disappointed!!

Tried Spiteris Auto Service for the 1st time.... because i got a tempting coupon 😉. I got a 2010 Camry that needed a smog test. A requirement for the annual license renewal.I called for an appointment but got there early because I dont know the place and the traffic. I was with my hubby and our dog then. We were greeted in their cozy office. They have water dispenser too. Though i was early, the friendly staff, forgot his name, entertained me anyways and processed the smog test. Boy, the service was quick as well as paying at the counter.I totally recommend this place. I will not mind driving a little farther if i will receive the same service and friendly atmosphere.

EXPENSIVE!!! Let me start by saying that they did do a good job and there are no complaints on the workmanship.Windshield wiper motor in our Toyota Prius was broken and the labor cost me $178 multiplied by 5.25 hours about $900. This included oil and transmission fluid change as well. However when I asked, I found out labor charge was $150 per hour and skilled labour charge is $178. Maybe taking it to the dealer would have been a better call since I thought taking it to a local shop would have worked out cheaper. When I asked they were nice enough to give me an hours worth labor back but it is still very pricy and I would think twice before taking it to Spiteri.

Visiting Spiteris for the past 14 years has always made me think Im living in a small town. The entire staff knows me by name (I show up twice a year) and treats me like a favorite cousin, remembering things Ive told them about myself or about my car. They understand that I want to know all the details about what theyll check, what needs to be done now versus a year from now, and later, exactly what they did to my car, and not one staff member has ever talked down to me. I like entrusting my car to people who treat me with respect and dignity. I also appreciate their free shuttle service.

The staff there go above and beyond to help you with tire selection, and keeping you informed during the wait. I am couldnt be more satisfied with the tires and the service. LOVE this place! I had four new tires mounted and balanced. Everyone I came in contact with, from Chuck, to Sam, to Tom was extremely helpful... and friendly as can be.They thoroughly explained everything and didnt push me into added services. They suggested and noted everything in my file that should be addressed when Im ready. They did a number of little things as a courtesy (no charge), like checking my brakes, topping off my steering fluid, checking my spare tire to determine its condition - and if its the best out of the five tires to keep as a spare.Cant say enough about Spiteris. They have been in business as long as they have for a reason. They know what they are doing and they do it top notch.

Spiteris have been looking after my Porsche since 2007 and have always done an excellent job of keeping it running. On one occasion I needed to get the engine replaced. The guys at Spiteri went above and beyond for me and family yesterday. An unfortunate flat tire at 10:30pm on a Monday night, left me dropping my keys in their drop box at 11pm. With two kids to get to school by 8am and a kindergarten promotion for one of them at 9am, I was not sure if or how I was going to make it happen.Sam was in at 6am doing paperwork. He said he would try to take a look at the tire and see what he could do. By 7am Sam and Chuck let me know that they would be able to do a repair on the tire and have it ready to go at 7:45am. They usually get started later but the guys went to work early and had me out of there at 7:45am!! All safety checks done and no new tire needed, I was more than thrilled!I was able to drive my kids and mom to school, made the ceremony and had the car to go to work! I have lived and worked on the Peninsula for years and just discovered a new garage right in my own backyard! I had recently purchased a car that had been totaled and then rebuilt and was searching for a local Shop to do my State Brake and Light inspection so I could register it. Spiteris came up as one of my choices who performs these inspections. During my visit, I was impressed with how clean their service bays are, their thoroughness and attention to detail. No problems at all registering the vehicle at the DMV the next day.I also recently purchased two other vehicles of different makes and models; one of which is a pre-owned vehicle. One of these is my wifes daily commuter car, so I decided to have it inspected by Spiteris bumper -to-bumper. Spiteris found that the rear brakes needed to be adjusted, which despite being checked by another Shop three times, had never been repaired. Now my brake efficiency and pedal height is much better. They did a couple of other minor repairs and the car drives like new!The other car is new and in talking to the Service Writer at Spiteris, I found that they can perform the checks and services required to keep the warranty valid.When I was growing up, we always took our vehicles to the dealership we had bought them from. That is changing now that Ive found Spiteris right in my own neighborhood.

Includes everything from tires, A/C service, coolant repair, and the routine smog check.The great thing is Ive never had to take my cars back for any redo work. Ever. Sure, you can probably find a shop that can do the repair for maybe a little less, but how much is your time worth?

On different occassions, Ive used their ride service to the Caltrain station and also to an enterprise (who also gave a ride back after using rental) Rent-A-Car that are nearby. Along with the good work they do, the ride service is crucial, that mitigates the affects of car trouble, during a busy work week.

I am so glad I live within walking distance of Spiteris, arguably the best mechanics Ive ever had the pleasure to hire. They are friendly, honest, generous, and their attention to detail is unparalleled. They actually care about you and your car, and take the time to explain everything meticulously, and answer any questions you may have. They quote you a number up front, and will call you the moment they notice anything that might adjust that quote. They also keep a log of things to keep an eye on, which some mechanics would simply fix and charge you for unnecessarily, despite those issues perhaps not yet being a serious problem.My *only* complaint is that they close at 5pm on weekdays, which makes it tricky for me to pick up my car after work. I tend to just grab it the following morning.I hope I never have to take a car to any other service station but Spiteris!

Ive always thought brakes were a simple job, having worked-on many cars in my youth. My Ford Probe needed a brake job and within 5k miles, my master cylinder started to leak just after having it completely replaced. Ugh... Since my prior experiences with them were so positive, I brought my Lexus in, years later. Same thing. When taking my car into the dealer for its maintenance, they discovered the rear brakes were not assembled properly. VERY DISTURBING!!! I cant say I trust them with my vehicles anymore.

Amazing!I was impressed that Spiteris noted some items on my 10 year old car that might need my attention after just doing the smog test. They noticed a very loud ka-chunk noise upon acceleration, which I had previously had the dealer check out. The dealer was never able to find anything wrong with the car. I decided to follow up and ask Spiteris to troubleshoot and see if they could determine the cause of the noise. Well, they certainly did -- turns out that the sub-frame bolts were loose. In addition, they investigated a rotational noise I had recently been hearing from the tire and determined that the wheel bearing in one of the front wheels was bad. Spiteris is awesome. Not only did they find and fix long-standing issues in my very old car, but they did it quickly, expertly and they also called after Id taken the car home to check with me to ensure I was satisfied! I would not hesitate to take my car here again for service - - and will be definitely be recommending Spiteris to all my friends!

I came in to Spiteris to get a routine tire rotation on a used car I bought a month ago. I learned that the front two tires needed replacement as the wear was beyond the legal/safety limit. I agreed to the replacement and as the car was hoisted above ground, I received another call from Chuck, one of the owners, asking if I was aware of frame repair on the vehicle. I told him that I was aware of an accident report on Carfax before buying the car, but the car salesman assured me that the impact was on the bumper and not anywhere on a critical area like the frame or engine.Chuck, Sam and his team were impressive throughout the entire month long agonizing interaction with the used car dealership. I worked with Chuck on the initial findings and when he left the following week on vacation, his partner, Sam continued the correspondence with me.The transition was remarkably seamless! Sam was apprised of all details Chuck left on my vehicle. Sam was so generous with his time; He took multiple calls from me and explained technical details in plain laymans terms. He also offered to talk with the dealership over a conference call to go over the findings which was super effective given my lack of knowledge in this field, I would not have been as effective in communicating the damage.Used dealership wanted a second opinion so I reached out to a few Auto Body Shops in the area which all knew of Spiteris reputation. Some spoke very positively about their quality work and others illicitly made comments describing them as slightly anal-retentive, which in my view, is a great thing. I would much prefer being on the side of playing it safe than gamble with my safety and others on the road.The second assessment validated Spiteris initial findings and just yesterday, I received a cashiers check from the dealership for a full refund on the car as well as additional expenses incurred for the subsequent assessments.Past clients remarked on Spiteris focus on detail, quality, extra time with customers and their overall focus on setting a high standard. This was the initial reason why I chose them over others in the area and I am SO pleased that I made that decision. I think things wouldve had an entirely different outcome if these guys werent involved: 1) find the damage 2) Generous time they provided in assisting someone who is ignorant about all things cars!Some reviewers indicated that pricing may be a bit higher at Spiteris. In my experience, there are some services that are higher and others equal to. At the end, that short term cost is negligible. These guys are meticulous! It is very clear from both Sam and Chuck they have a strong, personal connection with their work/craft and this matters a lot in an age when this sort of ideal is fast becoming an illusion.

However it was getting time to replace some major parts to keep her running smooth. While looking for a trust worthy place to bring my beloved 4runner I was recommended to Spiteris by a customer of my own.I brought my car by and was helped by one of the service writers named Chris. Chris was able to reccomend all the small things that were needed after doing a very thorough detailed inspection of my vehicle.When I picked my car up It had never been more smooth and quiet. I am sure with the help of spiteris ill be able to take this thing to 350,000. I have never been so confident in a auto shop in my life.
