The best English professor Ive had is Josh. Hes very reasonable and fully responsible and listens to his students. Very flexible with hw and gives good lectures. I enjoyed attending his class. Just dont be lazy and work hard and dont attempt minimal work for a high level class. Theres a reason his class fills up so fast! Highly recommend. Also best place ever. Ive been going to this place for two years now, and honestly, its one of the best things that has happened to my academic life. The teachers here are professional and proficient at what they teach, and I would even call them experts in their subject areas. The classes are tailored to my interests and needs, so that I can keep up with my rigorous classes at school while not feeling the difficulty. Bellevue Learning Center is a necessity for middle and high school students who need more focused attention on certain topics in subjects, rather than an overarching curriculum where one-size fits all. I have taken anything from Physics to History at this place, and it has been a truly enjoyable experience, to the point that I have recommended my friends who are struggling to come here as well. In fact, my sister has also recently started tutoring lessons here, and I can already see an improvement in her understanding of the math concepts shes being taught in class. Bellevue Learning Center has great teachers who take care students with heart and passion. My son enjoyed the classes here especially, writing class. The class was full of discussion, interesting questions and critical thinking, it was not typical boring tutoring. Also administrators is very helpful to guide what student and family need. Highly recommended for all grade student!

I have been going here for almost three years now, and I’ve taken classes in US History, English and Math. The tutors are great at teaching the information in a way that is easy to understand, and they also make class interesting! I genuinely look forward to class every week.

BLC has improved my scores from my English class to the AP Physics tests. The teachers are well-versed in my schools curriculum and test formats. Consequently, they created systematic lessons to provide a comprehensive review for me in their respective subjects. They felt very approachable, clearly identified my strengths and weaknesses, and instructed me on how to improve. For example, after evaluating a sample of my writing, my English instructor developed writing exercises to improve my organization and sentence flow so I could ace the SAT Essay.

I have been to this learning center since elementary school up to high school. It has helped me tremendously with my vocabulary, math skills, and writing skills.The tutors are very nice and helpful. They have improved my SAT scores by a lot and have also helped me with my college applications. I would really recommend this place for students who need help in homework, any skills they need, SAT, and college applications.I also had a cousin who went there for their ESL program and his English improved drastically. He also said he really enjoyed the environment and would guarantee that anyone who takes their ESL program will improve their English a lot.

I was a bit worried about her English since she was educated in Korean for more than 4 years in her mother country so I expected she might need to take ELL at her new school for a long time. Having heard from many upperclassmen about AP Calculus level of difficulty, I wanted to make sure that I had an extremely firm grasp of Pre-Calculus over the school year. The Bellevue Learning Center is excellent. There are many tutoring centers both in Seattle as well as the east side, so I spent a long time researching which one would be best for my highly capable children ages 9 and 13. They are currently at the BLC preparing for the SSAT with engaging tutors who graduated at the top of their class. My kids are excited to go each week as they are challenged with interesting and above grade level work in math, language, and reading. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Kim, sincerely believe in helping every student reach their highest potential. They only hire the best teachers, and because they have been in business a long time they are experts in the field of education. I highly recommend BLC for reading and writing development. I am a parent of the 5th-grade boy trying BLC individual tutoring. I can see he reads a book with more analysis and writes more clearly and effectively. Also, his reading level is improved and writing is getting easier for him.

After participating in the ESL program at the summer camp for past two years, I felt much more confident expressing myself using English at school. It also helped my reading level increase by a lot.

Last year I took the summer program at BLC and I would say that it was one of the best learning experiences Ive had. Although in the beginning I was reluctant to be taking a summer-school-type program with homework over the long break, I have no regrets and I am so glad that I decided to go. I took a math class, a writing class, and a logic/debate class with three different, well-educated teachers. The teachers had starkly different teaching styles but all were effective as I learned quite a bit and retained what I learned throughout the eight-week program. Im currently doing much better in my humanities and math class thanks to BLC. Although the homework amount varied by teacher and by day, it was an average of about an hour from each class, which I thought was a good amount, considering it helped me practice what I learned but also wasnt taking up too much of my afternoon. All the staff were very kind and helped me get through the first few days of the program; overall the environment was a great place to learn. I will definitely be taking the SAT class this summer as well.

The SAT summer course brought significant progress in my scores, and the teachers are extremely helpful. I like how the center divides students into different levels to suit everyones specific needs. As long as you have a determined mindset for improvement, progress is definitely guaranteed. Because of BLC, Ive become more confident in my test-taking, and the universal approaches Ive been taught can be applied to other future exams as well. BLC offers excellent tutoring services in an array of subjects. My son has an excellent instructor for SAT Subject test prep who also helps with Pre-Calc homework. Our tutor, Roger, is truly a subject matter expert and we plan to stick with him for AP Calc and AP Statistics. I recall being greatly surprised by how intensive the ESL program in BLC was when I first visited here eight years ago. The work was challenging but having teachers whom I respected and trusted was invaluable in making the most of my time. I strongly believe that BLCs program set a concrete foundation for my English skills even after I went back and finished schools in Korea. Taking individual tutoring alongside the summer intensive group sessions has been a great help in attaining 113/120 on the TOEFL. I definitely got admitted to the college of my choice with a generous scholarship and am very lucky to be an exchange student at the University of Pennsylvania. Though the study itself may be intense, it is definitely worth an experience! I hope other international students get to know this wonderful opportunity and benefit from studying at the BLC! :)

Bellevue Learning Center is a wonderful establishment. I attended here since I was in 6th grade and its been great so far. The teachers are very well-educated and are always striving to help you the best that they can. Ive had five different teachers during my time here, three of them for English and two for math, and all of them have been amazing. They have slightly different teaching styles, but all of them were effective and helped me learn so much more.They also offer summer classes here, which Ive attended for two years. Its nice to also have classes rather than just one-on-one sessions sometimes, because not only do you get to meet new people who are roughly the same skill level as you, but you get to interact with others and learn from their success as well as their mistakes. Even so, the classes are relatively small, the number of students varying per class. It is not usually more than 5 or 6 at the most, and thats helpful so you can receive more personalized feedback from your teacher. I am most definitely taking summer classes again this year, which will be the SAT prep classes.Ive found that BLCs teaching methods have been the most effective. Ive gone to other tutoring places as well, but BLC is by far the best. For English, they have you read books that are thought-provoking and match your skill level, which was great because the books Im assigned at school are often too easy for me. Many of the books or short stories I read at BLC, I ended up reading in school a year or two later, proving that the material assigned is definitely helpful. There is also a lot of new vocabulary and grammar. In math, we used various examples, visual representations, and fun activities to help better understand concepts. For both classes, there were quizzes so the teacher can make sure everyone is at the same level of understanding as well as checking that you are paying attention during class.One benefit of going to a place like this is that you get to know your teachers very well. Id like to say that Im pretty close with my teachers and we still keep in touch. The teachers here are also willing to help you with things outside of BLC, as long as it pertains, of course. My English teacher from summer classes in 2017 helped me with my writing submission for the national Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition, and Im happy to say that it turned out really well. The teachers are also very understanding of the fact that you have an outside life as well, and sometimes there are complications so you are unable to finish your work or come to class on a certain day.Overall, BLC is great for many things, including wanting to get a head start for the next school year or preparing for upcoming exams such as the SAT. I would definitely recommend it to others.

My son`s English reading has been improved from Star reading 4.0 to 8.0 for 18 months and he likes to read now thanks to BLC. His math has been advanced one year ahead through summer program. It is intensive but he loves to go to BLC. I think he is connected with BLC teachers and they seem like mentors in some ways. For example, he loves to read science fictions due to Math teacher, not English teacher.I often talked with Mrs.Kim and realized that they treated every student differently based on development stage, learning readiness, tempo, mood and perception, etc. They do not give up the hightest potential of each student.I like BLC with many reasons but the most impressive one is BLC wants to go extra miles beyond subject tutoring or test score, I highly recommend BLC.

I really love to learn from blc by my teacher. He teaches me Ap calc and Ap physics. Even though I struggle at school, I bring questions and he gives me clear explanation in easy way to understand. It is such a pleasure to work with him, and because of him Ap Calc is very interesing.

My child set her foot on the soil of America on her 5th birthday sharp, not knowing ABC. Exactly a year later, she came back to Korea with the ability to read Judy Moody series fluently, all thanks to the excellent teaching of BLC. Since then, she has been on Internet-based education of BLC (2 hours a week) via Skype. She is now 12 years old and is not in an English-speaking environment, but her Lexile level is equivalent to Grade 9~10, again thanks to the superb teaching methods of BLC. My daughter took one of BLCs summer programs during the past August, 2017. It was a great experience for her not only in the academic perspective, but also in her personal growth. BLCs summer program was intensive and pretty challenging one that kept making my daughter busy studying, reading, creative writing, and thinking in order to participate in the class discussion based on the daily book reading assignments. My daughter, who was an expectant 6th grader at that time, took Algebra 1 and Language Art of a junior high level; both classes were tense and challenging for her to follow up with daily learning contents and all of homework assignments as well. But, the program didnt go too further beyond my daughters ability; instead, she enjoyed learning there every day. I still remember how excited she was every morning in the car while I was driving to BLC. I got an impression that BLC knew very well, based on its expertise and lots of experiences that have accumulated for more than 20 years, how to guide students to maximize their learning abilities and even how to encourage students to draw their inner potentials out to learn something more challenging. I realized that BLC pursued an educational method and/ or philosophy that reflects the personalized approach in teaching. I observed that BLC modified and adjusted their teaching contents according to each students unique and different needs, even though BLC already had its own predesigned teaching contents for a group lesson. According to my daughter, all the teachers (for both algebra 1 and language art) whom she met at BLC during the past summer were amazing; they were good at teaching and making the learning environment warm, and their expectations were high and more advanced than usual teachers. Based on my experience with BLC, I found, as a parent, BLC is absolutely professional, and I can trust their expertise which seems to have been built on a lot of its own actual experiences and acceptable learning theories rooted in educational psychology. I hope my review on BLC can help other parents who are looking for an excellent academic facility for their children.

Ive gone to BLC for 7 years and just finished my first year of college at UCSD. BLC not only sets you up for short term success like high school GPA and classes but strives to build long term skills that will later benefit you in the real world.

While at first I started attending classes here because of my mothers suggestion, I now understand the value of BLC and recognize the time spent here as the best period of my high school years.BLC introduced me to many expert teachers who guided me through difficult learning process.
