These guys are fantastic. All of the work is top notch, and they do a great job of explaining why you need what you do, and what options you might have. Before a decent road trip, I took my car into Lens for power steering noise. I thought I needed a brand new power steering pump, so I asked to replace my old one. However, Kyle and the team were upfront, informed me of everything that needed to be done and told me a honest and non-salesman pitch answer. I was relieved that I didn’t need a new pump and my car’s issue was fixed in a timely manner. I am very pleased by their professionalism and honesty.

Upon pickup, very thorough explanation of services rendered in terms I can understand and a clear invoice showing what we chose not to fix this visit so I understand what to watch for in the future. I used this business twice. First time 2 years ago when y car was completely broke and I towed my car to them. I had relied on google reviews... I ended up with a fat bill but I had no other options.... couldnt even drive my car to another shop. The second time I took it for a pre-trip service and after charging me for $175, they gave me a long list of things that needed to change. I took the car to other auto shops and got second opinion because the “must do” list would cost me half of the value of my car. Other auto shops gave me way lower estimates and didn’t think a lot of those other necessary items are necessary. I called 3 dealerships to check the price of parts they suggested to replace... the cost difference we’re astronomical... for example $17 for a $2 part. I ended up ordering the parts myself and got them replaced for exactly half of the cost estimate Auto Lense gave me. I don’t think I’d ever use them again.

Mechanics stayed late to replace stolen catalytic converters so our food bank could continue to provide food to needy families! Cant say enough good things about this business!

Len’s has been doing all the service work on my large used Ford F 150 since I bought it in April 2018. They have done everything that I asked them to do as well as suggest a few things that improved it’s performance. I recently had them replace the moonroof seal and satellite seal which were leaking and they determined that the previous owner had put in a front windshield that was not the right size and poorly installed. I had them coordinate a new windshield installation and now I’m driving a dry, high performance 4x4 that can deal with all the challenges of crossing the Cascades in a moment’s notice. The light rail construction is a hassle to negotiate getting there, but so far it’s worth it.

I absolutely do not recommend Lens Automotive. I had my car towed to Lens, pretty certain I needed a new starter. Once they received my car they call and told me that they would need to run a $200 diagnostics test, making it seem like it was not optional. They called me the next morning and told me that it would be $900 and that my brakes were a major concern and estimated an additional $1000 for my brakes. I asked them about the price of the starter and they said it would be $350 for the actual part and the rest would be labor, the diagnostic test, shop supplies, and tax. After calling around, I found out that this is one of the only shops that does not wave the diagnostics costs, if you get it fixed there. So basically, I was stuck since my car was already there. Other places quoted my $270 less, but because my car was already there and they had already run the diagnostics test, I wouldnt have saved money moving it, because of the cost of the tow. After telling my friend about the situation, he called and Chris at Lens told him that if I had refused the diagnostics test at the beginning, then they would have had to figure out what was wrong with my car anyways, but because they already did the work, the could not wave the $200 for diagnostics. Being a woman, I feel like I was extremely taken advantage of by this business. My friend even called a mechanic that he goes to and he estimated $295 for a brand new starter AND labor (before taxes). When I picked up my car and paid, I looked at the invoice for the labor and they were unable to answer my question of how many hours they spent on my car. I will never return to Lens and would highly discourage others from taking their cars there.

Lens Automotive has been taking care of my various cars for well over 30 years. My dad found them long ago and thats how I started going there...ever since I got my first car. (And yes, my dad still exclusively uses them too). They are definitely trustworthy, and theyve earned that trust. They dont recommend fixing stuff that doesnt need to be fixed. Theyre the good guys among car repair shops.Cars are not cheap to own, but every time Ive gone there for a fix, their prices have been reasonable...and they always fix it right the first time. Scheduling is easy and they are very courteous. I always recommend Lens to everyone I know needing car repairs, because I know they will be treated right.

Weve been using Lens Automotive for all our cars for over 18 years. The guys there take great care of us. Weve actually gone and told them we need new brakes. They looked at the brakes, called us and told us, nope youre still good. They have saved us money and consistently done great work.

They simply provide great service! First off, the walls in their lobby is filled with awards from AAA, Angies list, Nextdoor Neighbors, and Yelp. These awards were all warned recently too! That should speak volumes by themselves. The staff who greeted me were friendly and were upfront about what expectations I should hold about my service. If it might take longer it might require additional work then they will say so. Ive gone to LensWLens automotive a few times now. Reach time theyve stopped to notify/confirm with me what work needs to be done and how much it will cost before they perform the work. They will also tell you and document everything thats done or should be done in the future. They are competitively priced and provide great mechanical and customer service!

I have been taking my cars to Lens for over 15 years. I am sad that I will no longer be able to rely on them for service. I took my car in this morning because it was running hot. No other complaints....running hot. Like other reviewers I was told there would be a diagnostic fee. In the five hours they had my car they took the time at my expense to check the power steering, alignment, shocks, spark plugs, air filter, fuel injection, belt, front brakes, rear brakes, tires, lights, muffler, battery, PCV, and finally my cooling system. All that diagnostic work to determine that the water pump is leaking. I received a five page report detailing all of the systems that they reviewed to determine that the water pump is leaking. And then they quoted an astronomical rate to replace the water pump, belt, and thermostat.It is really shameful for any shop to put any vehicle through this sort of costly review when the problem is fairly straightforward. They are trying to scare customers into getting more repairs than are immediately needed.I spoke with the owner when I came to get my vehicle. He is perfectly comfortable with how his shop operates. He doesnt think anything should be done differently and he had no problem taking my money for diagnostics that were clearly not necessary for the stated problem.Lens will never repair another vehicle that I own. I will recommend that anyone wanting to visit a good, honest shop find someplace else.

This is by far the best auto shop you could hope for. They are honest, professional, and reasonably priced. They answer your questions without making you feel stupid, they make recommendations and then help you prioritize the work so you can stay within your budget, they finish the work on time, they treat you like family - I could go on and on. My family has used Lens since the late 60s and Im 57 and have used them since I first started driving. The bottom line is that as long as theres a Lens, they will have me as their customer!

There’s no gouging and no up-selling, and they stand behind their work.In addition to routine maintenance, they troubleshot my ‘01 Miata’s pesky soft top leak and a baffling intermittent air conditioner issue. Both estimates were comparable with other shops, but they came in on time and within budget—and guaranteed their work in case the problems came back. They even paid for my Uber home!

Ive use Lens exclusively for maintenance and repairs on both my older Honda and my 22 RV (for over 20 years on the car.) For me, auto repair is about trust because I dont know enough about vehicles to assess whats really needed and whats not.And thats the main thing I like about the people at Lens -- Ive always felt that I got honest answers and advice. Even to the point of telling me I didnt need things I was concerned about. They could have made money by fixing something that didnt need fixing, but they didnt.They do what they say theyll do and they do it on time. And they do it right. I dont recall ever having to take my vehicles back for a re-do. I give them the highest grade!

Couldnt speak more highly of Lens Auto! Took our car to Lens when it was making a sound and the guys were incredible friendly, professional and helpful. Not only did they get us in right away, they called a rental car for me so I could get to work which gave me a great price! They gave us an estimate upfront and my husband called three other shops to get quotes and Lens was the same or better price estimate! Then when they finished the work our total cost came in less than their estimate, unheard of at auto shops! Additionally - we got a call from them three days after picking up our car to see how it was running AND to let us know to look for a check in the mail because they realized they overcharged us $20 that they shouldnt have, amanzig! Would have been so easy to keep the $20 and we would never know. Honest, trustworthy place!

I recently purchased a heavily modified 10yr old off-road jeep. I was told it was in good shape by the used car dealer, but you know how that goes. After reading every review of every qualified mechanic in the area, I settled on Lens. After a quick round of e-mails, I had a quote and an appointment. Their service writer was most excellent to work with, the shuttle driver seemed to enjoy navigating rush hour traffic through school zones (even with my bad directions) and their excellent work on my rock hopper came in under the quoted cost and provided me a great starting map to my crazily customized vehicle that left me more than satisfied.Thanks to Lens, I had the confidence to take her off-roading in Walker Valley with no fear, other than the obvious stuff ;)Ive mapped out the next year or two of work I want done, and it will all be done by Lens. If I could give more stars I would. I had just moved to Bellevue a month ago, and was visiting home for the weekend. Saturday my car started making a grinding noise like something was scrapping on the ground, nothing was hanging down from what I could see. I worked in the automotive industry before I moved over here so I had my assumption that it was a cv joint but you can never know 100% until you actually look under the vehicle. But even with automotive experience, as well as my dad being very experienced, I was afraid to go to a mechanic shop. Especially because I’m a girl, I was afraid of being lied to and people trying to take advantage of me (not knowing I worked in the industry). I called around to different shops and Lens was the ONLY ONE to actually help me. The others just said they’d “call me back” (never did) or were really rude. I took my car down to Lens and told them I assumed it was the CV joint and they agreed it was from the things my car was doing and that They could do it the next day. I gave them ok and dropped it off that morning. They even paid for my Uber home. I was going to replace both sides and they actually told me the left side was fine and didn’t need replaced quite yet. But they had found a lengthy list of other problems with my car as they were going about making repairs. People get so mad about this but that’s them being diligent and doing their jobs correctly and it’s good customer service and makes for good business. They called me whenever there was a problem and were very detailed in explaining things to me (not knowing I had car knowledge) and I would give them ok to fix it. They knew I had a budget and were able to work with me on the budget and were so nice and considerate. They called and I went and picked up my car. Before I got there I knew I was going to ask to see my old parts (I trusted them but it’s good to verify) and I didn’t even ask yet and they already had them set aside to show me and we’re showing me everything. Washington state doesn’t require that even though some states do. Then, on the invoice, instead of just a list of parts, labor, and numbers, under each item was a description of how they found problem, why it needed replaced, and the entire process they went through while fixing my vehicle. And the shop was SO CLEAN. I was a manager of a shop that never stayed clean so I understand how hard it is lol. I was SO IMPRESSED. My service advisor was Chris and I couldn’t thank him enough. Highly recommend.

A bit pricey, but worth it. They will usually have your vehicle back the same day and call you if anything is discovered during the work so you can make a decision. They keep very detailed files on the vehicle.

I started taking my 2 Subarus to Lens Automotive last summer after reading all the positive reviews. The did quite a bit of work on both of them, things I had been putting off. They were very up front about costs, and what really needed to be done vs what I could do later. Since then I have become a regular customer. They just did a used car inspection for me and found an oil leak that is getting fixed by the dealer before I get the car. Thanks, guys!

My experiences at Lens Automotive began in the latish 80s and I still call them for help. What would I say about them? From Len--the original owner, to his son Ken--the current owner; ... from Steve--Lens original righthand man and service manager, to Bob--Kens righthand man and service manager ... and the other service writers over the years, and, well, actually ... decades. All the mechanics, too, we just never saw them. What in the world would I say?They did all the normal work--lube, oil, filter changes; pre-emissions testing work, general tune-ups, etc.Lens always gave my cars a good once over and let me know when something would be needing work and in what sort of time frame. They advised me of pending tire problems, potential brake issues ... whatever, you name it. They always maintained extensive, accurate records that we could all rely on for questions. Len/Ken and their crews were on top of everything.They pre-inspected used vehicles for me, when it was agreeable to the sellers.They never once failed to stand by their work 100% plus and always backed me to the hilt and beyond.On one occasion I was not able to physically retrieve my vehicle and Bob, himself, took my truck to the next shop on its journey.A now, long gone, neighboring automotive body shop, was demanding payment-in-full for some extremely shoddy and completely unacceptable work on my car. Ken actually guided me in exactly what to say to that facility manager and allowed me to use his name; which was what it took, in the end, for that place to zero their balance.One summer in Williams, Arizona I was having a great deal of difficulty trying to get my car off of the lift, in the Texaco station. I had left the car filling with gas and returned to find it had been moved onto the lift(!?!) and in emergency need of four new tires, according to the manager! He would not lower my car unless I allowed him to replace my tires, which were relatively new!!! Needless to say, I called Lens and let the then service writer (who at one time had worked in a tire factory) speak to that manager. My car was down that lift so fast, they refused payment for the fuel and the manager hid in the bathroom for over 20 minutes--he had seen me coming towards him with my camera. Note: Driving up to this station I was wondering, why?, in the middle-of-nowhere did they have about a dozen rolling tire racks full of still wrapped tires. Live and learn right?I could go on, as nauseum, about everything that Len, his son and employees have done for me.All things considered, probably the most important thing for me has been their absolute honesty. That may sound odd these days, because in general, business practices overall have improved greatly. Thanks, in great part to social media and better communications all around. Back in the 80s it was not necessarily the norm for a woman to be able to take her vehicle to every automotive shop around and be treated as well as I was back then, by Lens Automotive. Lens Automotive has been a leader in the field of customer relations and a real shining star, a beacon light for women everywhere.Thanks, Guys!
