I took my dog to the groomers yesterday and I’ve been working with Anecia.(The last three times I’ve gone) she’s been extremely helpful and provides lots of tips on bathing my dog at home and also what I can do to prevent shedding or help with it! My dog suffers from a lot of anxiety and she always gets done what’s possible and never causes him too much stress if she sees that he’s not handling some thing well so just let me know at the end of grooming. My handsome boy smells and looks great his coat is super soft and I couldn’t be happier with the results!!
Excellent customer service, cashier from Portugal, the birth assistant was quick and pleasant. Store was very clean, budgies were in a very clean environment. Love it
Staff was friendly, prompt, professional and skilled. It was my puppys first salon visit and he felt comfortable and walked right in with them. They asked about his paw fluff and we said yes go ahead and trim it. I am so happy with the way his paws look!!! Also they helped us choose much better options for brushing him that has changed my life! Now he likes to be brushed and he doesnt shed as much : ) I attached a pic of his beautiful little paw : ) Thanks PetSmart! From Linda and Alexander Hamilton
Amazing selection of fish decorations but please check the fish before customers come in. Found 2 floating very dead assorted fancy goldfish on Monday July 26th, 2021. Very hard to see as a fish keeper. I get fish die, it happens. But they looked like they had been there for a while...
Helpful and kind staff. Food selection is decent though essentially big name brands + sub-brands trying to capture pet owners who care where food comes from (MudBay shoppers). Most stuff like toys feel cheap, nothing appears quality. Overall good location for last minute items if you need it. Otherwise go to Chewy or MudBay.
The cashier named Lucy was very helpful in helping us find everything for a new puppy. The store was clean, organized, and well stocked.
Awesome staff! Always so helpful. Only note: we go for bearded dragon feed and they are sometimes out of Dubia roaches or crickets.
My husband and I just finished puppy class with our little Corgi Lucas. Bryan, the trainer was great and really knows his stuff when it comes to training all levels of dogs. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient and the dogs in the class really respond well to him. I also took some private lessons with Bryan before covid with my neighbors dog honey who was an extremely hyper and active rescue dog. My neighbor is elderly and could not handle her. After training with Bryan honey is now a dream dog and my ionship. She is completely different then when we first took her to see Bryan. I have had many puppies and dogs and training classes in all kinds of locations and with all different trainers. I have to say that Brian is absolutely the best, tops in his field and I would recommend him to anyone who has a dog that they love.
This is a really good location to get any live animals, insects, or fish!!!This location is a huge store with an awesome selection of food, supplies, toys, and anything to fit your pet needs.I do not have a dog but I seen that they have a huge doggie daycare/training area, my son loves to watch the dogs play. They also have decently sized healthy selection of fish, most importantly HEALTHY, it’s hard to find that sometimes. And as for the reason I go there is for my bearded dragon, and I got to say that they have a good of variety of reptile food, from crickets to frozen rodents and bearded dragon dry food mixes. And lastly the staff is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable with all animal needs.
Theyve been grooming my dogs off and on since 2016, always so sweet and nice
The employees here are so helpful and open to questions! Our experience at this location was awesome.
I tried the Puppy class with my 4 month old puppy. I had friends who recommended these classes and even read good reviews online. I found the training to not be worth the money. Before I got my puppy I did a lot of research on how to train a dog. I read books and watched free content on YouTube (Zak George is my favorite). I didn’t learn anything new or helpful in the puppy class. Everything we were taught were things that I already knew just from some basic research. My puppy already knew how to sit, lay down, shake, rollover, and stay before we did the class. The only helpful part was working on these things while she was distracted in the store. We didn’t even get a booklet that goes over what we will be learning (even though the trainer said we would be getting one). My recommendation? Save your self some money. Buy a dog training book, watch free videos on YouTube, and PRACTICE those commands and skills in PetSmart on your own.I do like PetSmart as a store and will continue to shop here, but I wanted to leave this review about my training experience.
Easy off the thruway and really nice store, they have a lot more in stock then other Petsmarts I’ve been to. Added plus if your road tripping is there is a nice park right next door to stretch your legs.
I love petsmart. I also like the kitties in the window.
Not a bad Little establishment however I do think that its nice to have this type of popular clientele but with the parking so limited and right beside the max train zone its not only inconvenient for the customer who has a vehicle and wants to drop in for a quick item...its disappointing to circle around only to never get a spot to park. If tgre was anyway that this well deserved store owner could find better plan for his stores popular demand. Hope so!!
The pet stores in New experience for me I just got a new pup and so far were enjoying it. Its a little expensive, considering I bought a $60 leash and within a week its done and the toys well we go through them quite often. My only complaint is they are pricey
Its always nice and clean! Great staff, theyre always friendly! Its our go to petsmart!
I always go to PetSmart to get my dogs nails trimmed. I called to make an appointment for the next day. Got in. When we got there the nice lady said her nails are too long for a trim so she needed to do a pawdicure that included a trim, grind, paw pad shaving, a spritz, and a bandana. Totally was fine with up charging me for that service. I usually don’t check her nails before leaving because I trust them. But once I got home I realized she had no bandana, didn’t smell like the spritz, and her pads weren’t shaved. So basically I got a nail trim for the pawdicure price.I did complain with their online email.. they said I’d get a response in two days. 5 days later I got a response about getting a refund and a free pawdicure. So I do appreciate that but I won’t be coming back to PetSmart so I declined the offer. I guess don’t offer a service and not follow through with everything the service describes.
Staff are friendly and helpful. The store has an amazing variety of pet foods, supplements, toys, equipment.
I was treated rudely by a young man who wanted to show how smart he is, how uninformed I was and how stupid my vet is. He answered my questions with questions in a rude manner. The store didnt have what I needed and he knew that, but wouldnt tell me that until he tried to make me feel stupid.
It is a nice store. I get help when I ask for it. There is a pet relief area and most customers are nice and considerate!
I have to say I am extremely disappointed to find out that the citronella bark collar Bryan “the dog trainer” at PetSmart put on our dog is NOT as safe as he made us think. Yes our Daisy is a barker but instead of trying any other method he instantly went to the citronella bark collar. After the first time he put the collar on, Daisy acted very lethargic for the next several days. We shrugged it off as Bryan said it would be expected. Second time I was running a few minutes behind getting to class. I was a little distracted and frazzled when she started barking. Bryan took Daisy into the back room and put the citronella bark collar on Daisy before I even realized what he was doing. The next week Daisy had another bad experience from the after effects.Today we go to class and during play time Daisy is barking. Bryan mentions getting the collar and my husband and I both instantly said we are not allowing the collar back on her. Instead of working on any other method of showing us how to control her barking this was his automatic go to. After research today, it is known that citronella plants is toxic to dogs so how can this spray on the bark collar be safe? How is it acceptable to kick us out of puppy class because we disagree with his method. I am glad we got our money back BUT after being a long time PetSmart supporter I will no longer be shopping with this company. I am very disappointed in knowing management allows this kind of behavior from their trainers. I feel bullied and concerned for future puppies going through training. As a second note, explain why Daisy is terrified of being brushed? Makes me concerned as to what the groomers are doing to our animals.Between both of these instances our little nervous baby seems to hate walking in the store . Thats when her barking would start as soon as we arrived at the store. We took her to MudBay and World of Wet Pets today and she had to be corrected only once at each location with leash control.
Masked employees and customers. Staffing seemed a little less...took a bit more time to find an employee to direct me to what I was looking for. Grooming appointments needed of course and one customer at a time allowed in the grooming area. Social distancing observed. Lots of pups in the play area which was well staffed. Courteous employees. The stores, whether in OR, WA or CA, pretty much arranged the same way. Fun place to take little kids to visit with the birds, lizards or guinea pigs. Lots of parking available.
Super friendly supervisor; this location carries more of the variety of cat food.
So quick, and friendly and a lifesaver! New customers for life. (Bye Bye Petco ) HELLO PetSmart!!!
I don’t know where to start with how much I LOVE pet smart there the only dog business who sells “simply nourish puppy stew” no where else does and thank you to Aaron for helping us find 2 cases!!! (Didn’t know how to spell his name)
Amazing people so kind and helpful
Had a great experience and they had what I needed for my pet hamster!
Normal PetSmart but the 5 stars because people are always friendly and helpful.
Had everything we needed to replace an online order that didnt make it to the house today.
2.5 stars... Highly overpriced and uncaring. Otherwise just fine.
I found the food that I was looking for and his favorite treats
Lucas, my 6 month old corgi finished the puppy class today and I wish to thank Brian for giving me some tricks that I forgot or didnt know. My ex is a dog trainer in Chicago (We are still friends) so I went in knowing a lot about training, although I forgot how much work a puppy is.Lucas is a herding dog like his older brother who is a border collie mix and these breeds are very smart, but very vocal by nature. I expected Lucas to be very disruptive in class because of this so I put in extra effort working with him before class. Dogs can learn many things because of thier desire to do good and to please. You just have to put in the work to show them how. Second class in Lucas started barking while Brian was trying to explain something. I dont know if he was talking to Brian or if he was barking because another puppy was barking. Brian asked if we could put a citronilla collor on him.Knowing what I know from my ex and other trainers, I consented. For those of you who dont know, the citronella plant is toxic to dogs TO EAT. The small amount of oil in a bark collar IS NOT, unless the dog eats the collar. Lucas barked once and stopped. Sometimes in situations you need the dog to not disrupt the rest of the people/ dogs and these types of deturants are the best tool. If you have the time, there are other methods to stop disruptive barking, but a class setting is not one of the places to practice.Brian is a very good trainer and gives you very good tools to help you train your dog to be a wonderful companion, you just need to put in the time to help them know what you want them to do.We have signed up for the next group of classes and untell then I will keep working with Lucas so he has this training well down.Again thank you Brian.
Weve bought most our animals here, always very informative about how to take care of them. Well stocked, and excellent customer service.
Plenty of choices unless you have a dog that has skin conditions when having any other protein other than fish protein. She had to fend/hunt for herself before we adopted her.
I love how theres always a warm heartfelt greeting when you walk through the door
This PetSmart has never let me down. Their curbside pick-up system works well and when I have to go inside in a pinch, the staff are also friendly in helping me find what I am looking for.Would definitely recommend PetSmart and this location for anyone that needs to shop something for a pet.
Its cat litter... Yay?
My sons lizard loves these people👍 knowledge is power😀 thanks again
Overall good. However not sure about the kennel services. I have left my dog here for a day or so but he comes back home smelling bad and Ive to take care of him with some extra attention. If you are going in there to buy something... things are good. But from a pet service perspective I am more reserved.
One star is too many for this location. PetSmart used to be my go-to-store. But the service has really gone downhill at this store. We purchased a couple of items for our new puppy that we picked up in CA. The items turned out not to work for our puppy so I returned them after my return to OR. I had my receipt, the original packaging, and the new item. When I noticed I didnt receive the sales tax that I paid, I questioned the clerk. She had no clue so she called the manager. We do not refund sales tax-you paid that to the State of CA! Not a hello, I apologize because our store policy is . . ., just brusque. I politely question that PetSmart is a huge corporation and Im surprised. She became imperious and I said, I dont do confrontation but extremely curious to why Petco just refunded my full amount without question and would she like to see my receipt? In fact, Petco offered me some other choices to products that would work. They took the time to be professional and I ended up purchasing much more. Again, she was condescending in her responses and her tone. Needless to say, I will never back back to PetSmart. Nor will I recommend them to anyone. Petco will be our go to place for our supplies. As a manager, I would have expect her to be more knowledgeable and professional. I do hope that is not the goal for PetSmart employees. She didnt set a great example for her employees. There was no common sense or apology from her. Perhaps PetSmart can use that non-refundable sales tax to provide more training for that manager.
Son has started some new hobbies and pet smart has just what we need everytime.
They have a VERY SMALL collar section for cats. Couldnt find what I wanted and something that is similar was $24.99. $25 for a piece of string that holds my cats tag on? No way...
I said it once, I’ll say it again, they were GREAT to ME and my dog. Chutney had a lovely time and he’ll be back for the next one!Oooh...forgot to do that on my way out.Oopsy daisy.
We have a 17 year old family member ( 🐈 cat ) that is on the Wellness plan at Banfield Pet Clinic. They were Great once again at Diagnosing the problem.
Great place to shop for pet necessity
Monica in grooming did an amazing job with our baby. Very pleased.
Wish we could do 0 stars! Had a nail trim appointment for my dog (who gets excited when he goes out). The apprentice who checked him in was NOT a dog person and refused to check my excited dog in. I actually booked at PetSmart by mistake (we usually take him to PetCo on SW 117th where we have NEVER had a problem). Suffice to say we have no need to ever return to this PetSmart.
Got my fish and shrimp in a timely manner! One of best petsmart Ive been in!!!
My doggo enjoyed his trip to Petsmart. If the good boi is satisfied, then Im satisfied.
I came in 15 minutes before closing to get my son a hamster for his birthday. I had to wait 5 minutes for the line to clear up before asking for assistance and was told that they could not sell me the hamster because it was too late and they’d have to be there 5 minutes past closing. I went to another department to verify this with the associate who told me “they aren’t going anywhere, you can get them in the morning.”Rude service, and why are they open until 9 if they refuse to do their jobs until 9?
Friendly services good prices
Scheduling a grooming service here is like pulling teeth. You have to call in if you need just a nail trim. If their automated phone system isnt hanging up on you, then the person scheduling the appointment will put you in for the wrong time and you wont know until youre in the store. This place is closer to my house, but Ill be going to a different groomer from now on. Just a bad customer experience.
Great shopping experience
Dont go here enough but they have some hamster food, bedding, toys.
Good place and prices to get all your pet needs
Friendly knowledgeable staff. This location is farther away but worth it to me
Staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be, considering how understaffed they were. The self-service ID tag machine was a nightmare. But the staff were very nice and the store actually had everything I needed, including items that I could not get with online ordering and store pick-up, for some reason. I have been to both PetCo and Petsmart (different location) in the last two days and this was the only place I could find it all.
Stoped in to price a new habatat and there selection & prices are great. They were having a small dog obiedence class so cute
Took to dogs to groom. Had 4:00 apt. Groomer not there not off lunch break yet. Get told to come inside so they could check in. Waited in line for another 15 minutes. Called 2 hours later to check how long hadnt even started grooming second dog. The first one was just a bath and nails. The dog that was getting groomed was so up set he had the runs for hours. These are dogs that are use to being groomed. Not happy
I brought my dog in for a grooming appointment. Hes a year and half old Australian Shepherd. I let them know ahead of time when I made the appointment that it was his first time getting professionally groomed and he was an anxious dog. The groomer assigned to him didnt read the notes until I was standing at the counter to drop him off. She seemed ok with everything, but an hour later I get a call that my dog was afraid of the water hose so they couldnt proceed. She added that he was totally sweet and not aggressive, just afraid of the water and wouldnt willingly go in the bath area. I was dumbfounded. What dog is totally relaxed and willing to be bathed and groomed? Ive had much more sensitive dogs in the past and took them to groomers with no issues. They didnt charge me for anything but it was a giant waste of time.
Good selection, friendly helpful staff.
Staff seems difficult to locate when you actually want to purchase an item. However they are fairly knowledgeable with their pets.
I was there today to exchange a dog harness I purchased two days ago for a larger size. Though I had the receipt, I was concerned thered be an issue since Id removed the tags and packaging to try out the original product. Of course, the good folks there handled the swap out with no questions or difficulties. Always good treatment, a great selection, and nice people ready to help...
Great service. I use the Banfield pet Clinic and Petsmart Grooming. I also use the pet hotel at another location. I reccomend it to anyone who loves their pets.
Good store. Being your dog!
People working there are great not a great selection of pet carriers today
Great place. Associates are friendly and helpful.
I always like going to this location. And especially like and appreciate their little clearance section- there are really really good deals there so make sure you dont skip that area, you never know what you might find! Things marked down as low as 80% off!!
Large selection .great place for all my guinnie pig needs
Don’t recommend taking your dog to get groomed here. I just picked my 8 yr old Labrador up and she came back to me wet and very upset which is not like her at all. They said that “her water bowl spilled when it was in the kennel with her” but this is way more than that. I could easily dry her better with a towel and they’re suppose to be using a blow dryer... She’s also come back very jumpy and upset like she was manhandled. We were to taking her to the location on Hayden island but as we haven’t been down there for work I thought the one by our house would be just as amazing as the other location. They are not. Overall I’m very upset and will be bathing her myself from now on. Save your money.
My favorite Pet Smart in this state. The staff is always super friendly & helpful
Aside from a few hiccups with using their curbside service, we always have a positive experience. Our family visits this location weekly to pick up feeder crickets for our lizards and whatever else is needed for our other pets. Staff is knowledgeable and generally quick to respond when you have questions or an issue with your purchase and I love that if you ask about an animal they do not have ample experience with, they will find someone who does. Our family has had many random pets over the years and they always have us covered.
Nice people, friendly well stocked but the place isnt very well kept could use a good cleaning. But all in all a bit experience.
Big store, lots of parking large grassy area for dogs along side the store
Clean store friendly staff
What is not happy didnt know the right hours for trying to adopt a puppy
It was a very large store but there werent any floor associates to answer my questions. Other than that, its a beautiful big store with lots to chose from! A little high priced I thought.
This place was awesome, Salem location. Owners are wonderful and friendly. Food was so good! I had a hard time choosing what I wanted. Service was fast. Cant wait to go back.
Not too crowded, friendly people working there.
Very good prices and very very helpful and knowledgeable staff
Cashier was super friendly and personable
They have always been helpful and ask about my dog when we are there. We had a good experience with the training program.
Used to be an infrequent visitor for food and occasional toys, but recently got a new puppy. Now Im getting things here constantly lol. This location had been very helpful in having everything we need, answering questions, and being genuinely kind.Bonus: their curbside is epic. You just call, open your trunk, and they bring out your order. (They do wear masks.) For online orders theyre giving away free toys and treats! Will keep coming back :)
A lot of associates on the floor for assistance. Good prices. Clean store with a good layout. Was standing in line and another cashier approached me to come over to her line, cutting my wait. Well done.
Good place to buy birds
Waited 10+ min to get my online order. Guy at the register saw me several times and not once did he call for someone or even acknowledge me. There was a line too and he didnt even call for a second cashier. I went and got the product myself and waited in line since that was faster.
Great service at the grooming salon.
Signed up for dog training.. great people!Though my original comment is true of the folks at this store, Ive changed my review because their website falsely advertises pricing for services. I would really like to see them update with more accurate pricing.
Verity of treats for your pet. Staff was eager to help. I had a great experience.
