In my opinion not a place for everyone’s busy schedule! You are a number! Care packages cover vaccines, however not much after that with more up sale!I had a funny feeling after first day when I got a coupon I found online and they refused to use it because I bought that “care package”. I do not recall anything on that coupon stating, the care package trumps any discounts. We bought it, however very uneasy as was told prior to appointment yes they would take it knowing was buying the care package.Long story short, newly mandated restrictions, they get your pup/cat from your vehicle. Then take off, asking eta should be about 10 mins or so unless dr has questions! Great sounds good.Dr calls states ready and your family pet will be right out. Called them from car twice while on hold they call me left no message! Confusing right??? Well then here’s where the up sale comes in!!!Really I’m so ticked off being told 30 mins prior my dog be right out, then state up sale again(( 1 hour later))You have to be stern before they abide. This is frustrating for anyone who is working and many business deals going to have to suffer time and no care to your time. Many vaccines they push, please do research prior, and spayed and neutered not too early as “they” say! Complications for your animal will be what they hope for! It’s a turn and burn operation! Find an old fashion really truly care about animals vet! Not these corporate make money schemes. This is definitely my opinion, however in a short few months, realizing I do not want to further as the package was over $1100 plus other care you need plus if anything happens that’s on you. Buy pet insurance however please read through. Not all are taken care of!High upbeat voice, doesn’t mean customer service or client care!!!

My daughter and I have been going to Murray Hill for over 6 years. Between us, we have 2 dogs and 5 cats that are seen there. My bulldog has a history of fear aggression from a previous trauma and they are beyond outstanding with her care. The office staff are prompt, friendly and professional and medical staff are truly wonderful. The only thing I really noticed with them now being VCA is this prices have gone up a bit, but that can be said for just about everything now and they will no longer board my bulldog as they are now a “calm” boarding center so she is no longer able to go there which is where she did the best and was boarded since a puppy. For the quality of care and attention they provide for our animals I strongly recommend them. Look into pet insurance if you don’t have it, it really helps so much.

Really wanted to like this place- for us its conveniently located and the staff is friendly. We first started coming here when we got a puppy last March. Trying to get him neutered was near impossible at the time and we finally got in with them. I asked the cost of the surgery and was told in the ~$200 range.Smash cut later, we had a $1500 bill- he needed blood work, he needed IV, he needed sedatives, he needed this and that- none of which were mentioned ahead of the service. It was my own fault that I didnt decide to attempt to find another provider/clinic- we continued to go there and every single time, an add on service or additional vaccine or parasite test was added without my approval. I would always start with a simple request and be given a treatment plan that would exceed what I expected by HUNDREDS.We scheduled grooming, but oh wait- a Bordetella vaccine is needed and a flu vaccine is needed... grooming is no longer $40 but $100. I confirmed the total cost of the most recent grooming services we requested. When we dropped him off, were told the flu vaccine would be required. I dont understand how a vaccine the day of service will prevent anything? If youre one of the many many pet owners who use Chewy for your pets Rx, they dont partner with them and every time Chewy attempts to request a refill of the heartworm/tick/flea medicine I get an automated email saying they cannot reach VCA, they do not share Rx via the Chewy request system. I am required to request a PAPER rx and mail it through USPS to Chewy. I have confirmed both with VCA and Chewy that this is a VCA red tape and inefficiency. Extremely annoying.I would not recommend this unless money is no object and you dont mind being nickeled and dimed at every turn.

My cat wasn’t feeling well this morning, so I called here to see if they could fit him in earlier than my regular vet who wouldn’t be able see him till next week. By a scheduling miracle they had some time to fit him in, and I was able to drop him off to get checked out 20 minutes later. Kim at the front desk showed such care for my cat and for me, as did Dr. James. I am so grateful to have peace of mind knowing my cat is okay and I’m so excited to have found a vet clinic that shows such care for their patients and owners! Thank you!

I miss the old Murrayhill Vet before they went corporate with VCA. Their responsiveness has plummeted, their prices have soared and the front desk staff seem overworked. I took my parents dog in for vaccines while they were out of town as a favor to them. This wasn’t their normal vet clinic but I didn’t want to drive to Newberg where they normally go. Next thing I knew I was getting notices from Washington County Animal Control staring that my dog needs to be licensed and they sent me a bill for licensing. When I did not respond, since it wasn’t my dog, I received threats of a $500 fine. I finally had to spend 20-minutes disputing this with Washington County to clear it up.A vet clinic that participates in reporting to county’s is not a clinic I would recommend or ever visit again.

I was handled with such compassion at this place, it was amazing. From the front desk to the tech to the vet, everyone was so kind. They even have a “comfort room” where you can lay on the floor with your animal and comfort them and spend the last minutes together, it felt like a spa setting and not a cold vet office. I really appreciate this particular VCA and I’m glad I ended up there (I had a $25 first office visit coupon).

I found a cat and they were the only veterinary office still open and when I called they said if I got there before they closed at 7:00 they could read the chip, but when we got there at 5 minutes after 7:00 the woman said they had locked everything up 10 minutes to 7:00 and the veterinarian had already left so they wouldnt be able to use the chip reader. obviously they were lying if they could have read the chip if I had gotten there at 6:59 however she claims everything was locked up at 10 minutes to 7:00. What kind of veterinarian office cares so little about a lost cat that they cant spend two minutes when clearly they are not ready to leave for the day, it is now 7:15 and they are still inside🙄

I have been working with Dr. Zambelli and her team for a few months now. My cat has been on a journey of diagnosing potential issues, getting some dental work and more. Its always so stressful when your pet is going through something like this, not to mention the financial impact. However, the entire staff at VCA has been so phenomenal, things havent felt nearly as frustrating or stressful as they could have. They have their Covid style drop of system down to a science, and Im always helped by such friendly staff. Everyone is prompt and eager to help whenever possible and I rest much easier knowing my kitty is in great hands. As for Dr. Zambelli... I will just say that having moved quite a bit, Ive been to several different vets. She is by far the best! Not only so kind and friendly, but she takes thorough time to talk through everything and answer multiple questions, making me feel reassured hes in the best hands. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.....I have been dealing with skin and yeast issues with my dog for years. During those years of frustration, I have tried many Vets trying to find the right one. One that wasnt out for the money and was actually there for my dog. Also, I wanted one that listened to me as the owner and someone who knows my dog best. The staff and doctor were absolutely incredible. It became very clear, very quickly that they are there for the well being of animals. The staff interacted with my dog and made her feel very comfortable. They went above and beyond to listen to me and what we have done in the past for her, as well as making recommendations for treatments. We found our new home with Murrayhill Veterinary Hospital. I recommend anyone who has had a bad experience with other corporate chained Vets or just Vets in general to give Murrayhill a chance. My family was very emotional about our family pet. Dr. Horlings, as well as the rest of the staff, seemed genuinely concerned; which was impressive since they seem to take care of a lot of patients. If you have deep pockets, this is the place for you. Could never get out of there for less than $300-$350 each visit, and this was for routine and/or single-issue visits. Always a lab fee, a skin sample (fee) taken on a slide for microscopic analysis (my dog has a history of the same yearly skin allergy - is this really necessary??), etc. Would not prescribe Sentinel, even after I kept telling them Trifexis was giving my dog an upset stomach. Sentinel has ALWAYS protected my dog nicely. There was always a fee, a fee, a fee. OVERKILL with their treatment recommendations. When we would tell them no well wait on neutering or teeth cleaning, constant reminders in office, by phone or via e-mail for these services. Our current vet takes a conservative approach, and my dog has a clean bill of health; minor tarter NOT requiring a teeth cleaning and mixed medical reviews on whether neutering a male dog is of benefit as doing so can cause weight gain and other health issues. My current vet also talks WITH my husband and I (not AT US) to discuss our lifestyle, home environment, and whats best for our dog. They treat what is necessary and are proactive without nickel and dime-ing. Recently found out from an acquaintance that they had the same up selling experience and stopped going here, too. After boarding my dog for 10 days, we returned to pick up our dog whos coat was so matted from extended confinement that I had to cut out patches on his ears and face. He was to be bathed and he had not. He was so oily and smelled that in no way was there a bath provided. The dog did not have long hair, he has been groomed regularly. I called MHVet and told them of the condition the very next morning. The manager told me that all they could do is to bath him. This was the response after paying a fee that was not the quality described. Also, MHVet says they walk the dog 3 times a day. The walk actually consists of a walk out the door to the nearest tree and immediately back to the kennel. 15 t0 20 ft at best.

I started going here several years ago with a sick cat who turned out to have cancer. Dr. Liz Hardesty was so nice and helpful. We wanted to try a chemo drug suggested by my vet sister, and Dr. Hardesty made sure we understood it might not take, and definitely didnt push the more expensive route and ultimately was concerned about his comfort. He didnt make it.Several months later we got a young dog and made sure to ask for Dr. Hardesty. Im sure there are many wonderful doctors here, but she is special to me. I appreciate her honesty and compassion, and she tells me what she thinks is unnecessary and why. I am glad to keep coming here in happier times.

My lady and I were in Oregon working and just before our trip back east our kitty had some dental problems arise. They were accommodating at first helping to keep him comfortable while we planned to get him to his normal vet in Virginia, but it quickly became a problem and they were so kind in treating him as soon as possible. Hes 100% better and I think the care he received from Doctors Zawadzki & Altermatt and the gracious staff was beyond what we expected. Squirrel and I wish to thank you all.

Best Veterinary Clinic/Hospital ever. Been going to Murrayhill for almost 25 years years and the only other place I would take my pet if needed is to an emergency Vet. Although Ive seen almost all of the vets there and they genuinely care about the well being of your pet and you as the clients parent. Every question is answered. Every visit receives a follow up call the nest day. Dr. Michele Zadawadski has been my current vet for many years. I often wished she could be my doctor. You cannot got o or find a better vet clinic in the Beaverton area as far as I am concerned. I even had a Washington Conty Animal Control Officer tell me once that Murryhill is one of the BEST Vet clinicss around when I had to call them about a pet rescue business I was concerned about.Love them all, doctors and staff.

About a month ago our cat was injured while we were out of town and our grandma brought our cat to Murray Hill Veterinary Clinic to be checked out. They immediately gave him some pain medication and tried to assess his condition. They called my wife and asked if they could do some x-rays, and after doing that they called us to let us know how he was doing, and told me that he was severely injured, his face was smashed up and his front right paw was broken and that could just be the beginning of his injuries, including possible breaks and fractures to his ribs. The way the vet described him sounded as if he was within an inch of his life and that he had was suffering terribly before they gave him medication. When talking about the best course of action for him the vet proposed that he immediately be sent to a surgical center in Vancouver WA where there is a animal dental specialist who could operate on his mouth because of, what was described as, a smashed up face, dislocated jaw and possible lost teeth. He would also need to have surgery on his leg to fix the break. Also this initial assessment was said to possibly be just the tip of the iceberg for potential injuries. My wife and I had previously talked about how much wed spend to take care of a pet, and decided that it would not be worth jeopardizing our financial future for a pet. Because of this when the vet was telling us all that needed to be done and began to describe the costs we decided that this was not the option for us. She said that the surgeries could cost between 5,000 to 10,000. When I told her that surgery was not possible for us her only other option was to have our cat put down and because of her description of his injuries I agreed that that would be the best option.I asked if he could be taken home with some pain killers so that we see him before hed be put down (we were out of town and could only get back by the next morning at earliest). She was horrified at the very idea of him leaving saying that it would be cruel and that she couldnt in good conscience let him leave before being put down. She said there was no possibility that he could be taken home and they could not give us painkillers to take him away. They werent able to keep any animals overnight so they suggested a place in North Portland that he could be transferred to to stay overnight.Fortunately my mother in law called a emergency vet in Tanasbourne where he could be taken overnight. Once there they looked over him and gave us a very, very different opinion! He was doing well, he was a strong and healthy cat who had a serious break on his arm and a tiny minor fracture on his jaw. Otherwise he was in perfect health! They were completely open to him being taken home (to my in laws), giving us painkillers and bringing him back later for surgery there and because the owner of the clinic does the surgeries he was able to do it for a much better price and was done the next day, once we were able to see our cat. He had surgery on his arm and the vet said his jaw was a fracture but not crucial to do surgery, just wet food and dont let him chew on things for 2 months. He is doing extremely well, and aside from is arm still having a wrap for a few more weeks he is back to 100%.While I do believe that the people at Murray Hill are sincere in their belief of doing whats best I think that they have little, to no idea how they make people feel while making these crucial decisions. Making it seem that death or thousands of dollars in surguries were the only options while our cat lay mangled and suffering is, at the least, a gross misrepresentation of the situation if not outright emotional manipulation to enrich themselves.I caution anyone going here to reconsider and to be very aware of the language used to direct your decision. Get a second opinion, you might save money or more importantly your pets life.Ps: it cost nearly $1100 for the couple of hours, much higher rates than other places.

Where do I begin? My dog Deku, and my cat Boots have both been seen by Dr. Hall. This woman is as genuine and kind as they come. She is understanding and sympathetic to any and all situations. She handled the care for my furry children with the upmost professionalism. My husband and I will be moving soon because he is enlisted in the military. If I could take her with me, I most certainly would! Please take your animals to this hospital for care. Its professionalism, kindness and understanding, from Helen at the front desk, to Dr. Hall. (and everyone in between.) Thank you to Murrayhill Vet Hospital!!!

I would give them 000 stars if I could. They said he had asthma but he died of cancer. If you want your vet to kill your pet in a very expensive manner, this is the place for you.....Dr. Hardesty said my cat had asthma and there is nothing to worry about - just watch every 3 months. If it gets worse he may need an inhaler. TURNS OUT HE HAD LUNG CANCER AND IS NOW DEAD.I could never get out of there without being charged $400-$900 for labs, exam, etc. I could not bring my cat in and they would never diagnose on an educated guess, given very detailed account over the phone. Then it was time for my pets annual exam. The annual exam last year was over $900 for one pet and everything was normal. There was a clouding in the left lung area which Dr. Hardesty said was ASTHMA and nothing to worry about but to just watch. She wanted me to bring him back in 3 months but refused to give me a discount - Our cat always had to be put to sleep just to get him out of the carrier (100 mg Gabapentin just to get him in it). Then he was given more sedation to treat. BY NOT OFFERING A DISCOUNT FOR REQUIRED SEDATION JUST TO TREAT, IS RED FLAG THAT THIS CLINIC IS ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY.Therefore I requested a quote for the upcoming annual physical. I wanted to pick and choose what tests I felt he needed and not pay for all those unnecessary tests they feel he must have. Theres more than one way around a diagnosis and they chose to go the expensive way by ordering unnecessary tests at your expense. After over four calls to the office and 2 visits in person, 6 weeks passed and I still did not have a quote for the upcoming exam, or an appointment set up because Im waiting on the quote. I never got it. After waiting almost two months, I never got it.A few weeks after pulling all my pets from this clinic, someone finally called - YUP after several weeks - and said, oops, looks like we dropped the ball. I could not believe it - Really! It even takes them forever to notice they messed up. A snail going up hill in a wind storm moves faster. After seeing another vet at a different clinic (NOT a box-store vet like Companion, but a privately-owned vet (just him and his assistant), he tested, examined, diagnosed all my pets for under $400 TOTAL. Thats right I got all my pets seen for a fraction of what Murrayhill charges just to see one pet. This new place is also private - just the vet and his assistant. That means you are like family - not just a rotating figure. To make it even worse, waiting almost 2 months for a call back on the quote from Murrayhill, cost my pet his life. Through the new vet, I found out my pet had advanced cancer. I WASTED TWO MONTHS OF TREATMENT TIME FOR MY PET by waiting for a simple annual exam quote from Murrayhill.OUR PET IS NOW DYING BECAUSE TREATMENT WAS NOT STARTED WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN at Murrayhill. I BLAME THIS DEATH ON MURRAYHILL VETERINARY HOSPITAL FOR WAITING 2 MONTHS AND NEVER CALLING ME BACK.This proves they do not care about you or your pet - just your money.Chance died on Jan 2, 2018. Rest in Heaven my dear friend and know not all vets are as evil and uncaring as this facility is. Your brother has a fantastic doctor at Accent on Cats. Here he gets quadruple the care for one-tenth of the price. If I want to talk directly to the vet, I can. Thats a plus.

My wife & I found a stray cat. We took her in, but were worried about our other cat. This office was close and, more importantly, still open at 6 pm on a Saturday. We saw Dr. Goodman who informed us that not only did we find a kitty that wasnt microchipped, but one that was pregnant as well. He was VERY informative & very nice. Talking & answering questions about our other cat as well & just about everything.Ill always go back to this office.

I cant say enough about how much Murrayhill Vet did for us and our 1 year old aussiedoodle, Rae, over the last month. Dr. Hardesty discovered that she was going into kidney failure and needed to go to Dove Lewis for the weekend. She worked tirelessly for 3 weeks trying to figure out what caused the kidney failure. Dr. Hardesty went above and beyond...she probably had 8-9 specialists involved in the case and never once made me feel guilty for how she did for us. She also never seemed bothered by my numerous phone calls every day. Dr. Hardesty even gave me her personal cell number and encouraged me to contact her if needed. There were a couple times we talked on the phone at 10pm. She was very dedicated!!!Right before Christmas we found out our little girl had lymphoma and would need to put her down due to the progression of the disease. We were completely heartbroken but Dr. Hardesty was so comforting during the process. She was not afraid to show her emotion, which showed how much she truly did care for our pup.Not only was Dr. Hardesty incredible but so was all the rest of the staff. Kim, one of the receptionists, was so caring and loving towards Rae during this. Rae spent every day for a week at Murrayhill on IV fluids. When we would come get her in the evening Kim would tell us how Rae was her lunch date. She also called on her own will several times to see how Rae was doing. Not only was Dr. Hardesty involved with Rae but all the other doctors were involved as well, trying to figure out what was going on. I would recommend any of those Dr.s.We feel truly blessed by all the love and care from everyone at Murrayhill! Yes, they may be more expensive than other vet clinics but they are worth it. When we get another puppy we will be returning (with pet insurance this time!).

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Murrayhill for four years, and I cant imagine taking them anywhere else! The dogs LOVE going there. I originally went there because my dog was limping, and another vet said the limp was in my imagination. Dr. Zawadzki was the first vet to see him at Murrayhill, and she had him walk and identified the imaginary limp as an actual limp. She prescribed pain meds and limited activity, and he improved very quickly. Since then, we have been through an early bone cancer diagnosis, leg amputation (at another clinic to which Murrayhill referred us), chemo (at a veterinary oncologist to which Murrahill referred us), skin issues, kidney failure, and a cat euthanasia. The staff has been amazing for all of it.When we decided it was time to end our 16 year old cat in kidney failures suffering, Dr. Hardesty took time in the middle of a totally full day to come to our house with a technician to do the euthanasia where our boy would be most comfortable. They communicated everything very clearly as they were doing it, and handled it all very professionally. They didnt rush anything despite the fact that they actually squeezed us in, and they didnt say anything about money at all. I called the following day to settle up without them contacting me about it, which I found very respectful. We have seen every vet at Murrayhill with the exception of Dr. Goodman, and I cant say enough great things about them. They are like family to us!
