I have used Preferred Janitorial Housekeeping service for approximately ten years. For the most part, I have been satisfied with their bi-weekly service. They clean my kitchen and bathroom well and have even done some extra work including washing windows, changing sheets, and cleaning the refrigerator. However, I have learned that I have to be pretty specific about what I want, and there is a significant language barrier as most of her workers don’t speak any English. Their inability to understand has made it quite difficult to explain things and resolve expectations.They take liberties to move things where they want to in an effort to remove clutter, but this is done without asking and has frustrated me several times. I called Elizabeth about it, and she agreed that this wasn’t “professional”. Things got better after that and they didn’t move things where they wanted to anymore. I’ve watched as they aren’t always careful when they move things to dust, and they have broken things (they weren’t big things for me, so I didn’t press it).HOWEVER, I recently referred them to a neighbor and was extremely disappointed in what happened. There was an altercation about a ceiling light being broken. Afterwards, they failed to thoroughly clean the floor of broken glass—resulting in the homeowner cutting her foot. They completely rearranged furniture in the living room and two bedrooms, which shocked me! I don’t know why they felt they had authority to completely change the room’s furniture layout without asking. When asked why they did that, her response was they must have thought it would look better that way. This is completely unacceptable, even though she offered to move everything back where it had been.They didn’t clean well which I saw for myself, e.g. mold in bathroom, dust left on several surfaces, floors weren’t swept well, etc. I was told about a heated exchange about their service (I haven’t even mentioned all that happened), but what bothered me the most was Elizabeth’s criticism of the house, its contents, and inference that the homeowner didn’t have money. In a text message she even alleged that the homeowner purposely loosened the ceiling light so it would break, in order to get out of paying for her service!I have a lot of patience for business owners and recognize that it is not always easy to be a reputable service provider. This is the one of two negative reviews I’ve ever posted online, and I hesitatingly do this because I do think Elizabeth means well and tries hard. I understand it must be challenging having English as your second language. However, the way my neighbor was treated was very unprofessional, and I know that it could have been handled better.

This is the company you want to clean your place. They are fast and thorough and do such a wonderful job. I highly recommend Preferred .
