I need to revise my comments made previously about these folks being professional. I brought my truck in and my car, $440. brakes on my truck. Rick walks out check on my car, never pulls into garage and gives me a diagnosis of timing belt. I responded back in three days to have him to complete job, Rick tells me to call back in a few days to get a schedule, I have called him three times each time he tells me he dont have any one available to perform the work. its been three weeks or more since diagnosis, no schedule yet. people do your self a favor stay away from this clown. cant call when he says he will, cant even be professional enough to tell someone I cant do the work, just let you hang around and wait, Im glad I didnt, Rick reevaluate your ear, it was a Water pump not a timing chain.

On June 24 2021 we had a tire blowout on the way to Parris Island from Jacksonville Fl. for boot camp graduation. Put the spare on and tried to find a tire replacement, several places did not carry this tire size. Called Tuffy’s and Rick told me he also did not have it. He said he would call me back in 5 minutes and he did. He located one and would have it that afternoon and he did.Went in and had it replaced in 15 minutes. Thanks

I have been to Tuffy for my tires in the past and did not have a problem, but this time was quite upsetting. My husband got new tires and upon pickup, noticed his hubcaps were missing. They were broken while being serviced and no one bothered to inform him and just kept them off. My husband went in and spoke to someone. Rick then spoke to him about getting replacements and multiple times did not call back when he said he would and had poor communication. He informed Rick we were moving soon and ultimately never got the hubcaps replaced like we were told. They put the old ones back on. Now we are on the road across the country with a hubcap broken by Tuffy with no rectification.

This team is incredible! I can’t recommend them enough! Customer service was nice to you until bring half done work they do on people cars. They should only stay lube and tires only, cause the mechanic work is not safe. Its kinda too late to work things out I brought the car back 3 times to work it out and yall will just push the problem off to another business or shop! And another customer front wheel almost fell off cause a missing bolt from yall work. So stop trying to pass lube and tire techs as mechanics.

Went to Tuffys awhile ago for a computer related issue and they were super nice to me and very honest about the issue. Haven’t had any problems since then, but yesterday noticed oil leaking from my car and made an appointment this morning to get it looked at. They were very quick, efficient and honest. I have been looking for a good mechanic since moving away from the same mechanic that worked on my car the last 9 years! My husband and I will definitely be back. Great service and super nice people.

Great people, Ive trusted tuffys to help with all basic issues. Theyre timely and well managed, I like to think of them as neighbors. Though sometimes pricey... never outrageous. Ive only seen one reoccurring issue and I can assure you tuffys does the best they can at your expense. Put it like this, you got a rust bucket and dont have time let tuffys handle it!

Took our jeep in to be better examined by experienced professionals and to get fixed as its our daily driven vehicle. When we read the code ourselves, code read something with the throttle body so we took it to Tuffys. They had no idea what it was and just reset the light and stated hed have to look into it further and to bring it back if it came back on. Meanwhile yesterday and today it stalled while I was driving and would barely accelerate. I had to pull over and shut it off. But whatever. Then they did a free brake inspection as well and gave us a quote for that which was fine. But then the mechanic let us drive off without tightening our f#*king front passenger tire. Had that been anyone that didnt know better, that could have ended very badly. Absolutely ridiculous.

I called for an estimate for some tires and the manager said he would call me back. After 3 hours passed and no response I stopped by the store to enquire about it and a female at the front counter got very rude with me and said he was busy and he does estimates after hours. Wow

Took my vehicle in to have a mid muffler delete, something I was skeptical about because this is not a custom shop but I was assured by the owner they can do it no problem. Well if I could attach the photo of the weld job they did you would understand the frustration. Looks like someone who never welded in their life started experimenting with the pipes. Do not take your vehicle here .

Stoked Honda told me I needed rear brakes and transmission flush. Brought my car to Tuffy’s and both were checked and neither needed to have work done. It is great to meet an honest garage that doesn’t take advantage of a female. My new garage and will refer to anyone looking for great and honest service.

NEVER USE THIS LOCATION!! Absolutely the worst repair center I have ever used. Very unprofessional and rude. Truck was not fixed so I was out their repair fee and two more tow bills. Their fee alone was over $800.00. Wasted money and wasted time.

Ive had the same mechanic for 15 years and he has recently moved out of the area... I was a little nervous to try a new mechanic but the reviews on tuffys seem as if they were Fair and reliable mechanics.... I brought my 2002 mustang GT in for some front-end work, just purchasing the car a week ago I was unsure of what it needed.... They diagnose my car, showed me all the parts that needed replacing, and did a fast very good repair.... Their price was very good for all the work I had done.... I highly recommend them to anyone who doesnt have a mechanic, and I will continue to bring my vehicles there... Great job guys and thanks again........

Fast and friendly service. Had an appt for an alignment. Got there a little early. They got me in and out. The staff was friendly and polite as well! I think Ive found my local go to place for my car needs!

We traveled in from MO and ran into car problems along the way, Rick was so accommodating and nice, got our van in right away Had it diagnosed within a half hour and fixed a few hours later. Our ride home is safe and sound thanks to him and his crew. We truly cant thank him enough.

It took over a week for my suspension lift to be completed when I was originally told it would be 2-3 days. I had to take it back about 3 times because the alignment was horrible and the steering wheel was slanted so bad to the side. They had to take my vehicle to a different shop, but they messed it up so bad that it was never straightened out even with outside help. I wrote a review and got a response saying the owner would contact me but they never did, they never even apologized for it. It was a such a bad experience and such a bad job that I sold my vehicle after only owning it for a couple months. If you enjoy your vehicle pleas do not take it here. Awful work and horrible customer service

Rick is the one I usually speak with. AMAZING GUY who pretty much seems to have a photographic memory! I just sat my first name and he knows exactly which case we will be discussing. Last name and he knows both cars in our household! The mechanics are so great! They know my car inside and out before even getting it on a lift! They will check out a question I have on my car free and within half an hour... Usually right away!

Driving between States, I found myself needing urgent brake service as one of my calipers locked up. These guys went above and beyond to get me in-and-out quickly and at a fair price! I am very happy with the customer service and exceptional mechanic service I received at this location

I have had 2 cars worked on at Tuffy-Beaufort in the past 2 weeks, and could not be happier. This is a family-run business who not only meet the maintenance expectations, they go beyond.I used one of their specials for an oil change and free tire rotation. The Tuffy team also verified the car fluid levels and checked on filters. It was discovered that the cabin filter long needed replacement (no wonder I sneezed so much in the car!). I was happy to have that done because I rarely remember to do it myself. All of this was done by appointment that was started right on time and finished in less than an hour, and at a very competitive cost.I highly recommend Tuffy-Beaufort for your car maintenance needs. They have many other services beyond what I needed and I plan to be back.

Rick and his staff go over and above what a good full service shop should provide. Their prices are reasonable, the work is of superior quality and their knowledge is exceptional. Sometimes you have to wait longer than other shops but thats because theyre packed with customers, which is another good sign. Appointments are available and if Ive done that, my vehicle is immediately pulled into the shop when I arrive. They know all 3 of our vehicles and keep meticulous records on what has been done and when. Frequently what I ask for something minor there is no charge. Best shop that Ive encountered in my 50+ years of driving and I highly recommend them to my friends and family.

I took my car for an oil change when it was due (the previous oil change was done by my husband, he didnt have the proper tools to remove the oil filter so he left that specific one in and just told me next time to take it to the mechanic who will have the tool to take it out and put a new one). My husband just finished doing the oil change again and guess what....it had the old filter! Of course they charged me for it and didnt say anything! The worst thing is I took my husbands car when it needed oil because I trusted them! Never will go there again!

Been there a couple time and they have not put enough oil in my car and they have put too much in my car and they werent very nice when I asked them to fix it. Oil change is basic, should be done correctly. Two stars because they have fixed the issue. Two stars because they always have issues. I would say to make sure that you inspect what you expect from them.

There owner was so mean and disrespectful, he asked me a question and I ask why did he needed to know and they been there a few times and they never asked me this, and I was confused, then he gets upset and throws my car key fob and tells me, he could not do any work to my car, so I will never go back to such a negative environment and lord knows if someone has a concern you should able to ask why, also the time they drove around my car before the even started working on it, I didnt know your car was supposed to leave the lot? The are a few good mechanics there but the stuff is hurting the rest

There are very few places in Beaufort that I trust to get my car fix. Tuffy is on that list. Trust, quality and affordability seems to be the bedrock of this place. Whats even more great is the transparency. And if they do mess up, I never feel like I cant talk to them about it to get it resolved. THAT alone makes this place worth coming back to.

I have been a loyal customer to Tuffy for several years. I normally go to them for regular maintenance and tire replacement. This past week I went in for my routine oil change but I had noticed my car was acting up so I asked them to also check my charging system. On the invoice it states my alternator tested normal but that was not the case at all. I doubt they even looked at it. This morning my cars battery light turned on so I called Tuffy since they stated everything was fine on the invoice. The owner was not helpful at all. Told me I could drop of the car (Saturday) but he wouldnt be able to look at it until Monday. I explained to him that I was upset due to the fact that they said everything was fine but it clearly was not. Decided to take my car to Autozone to have them check the charging system. They informed me the battery was ok but the alternator was not giving any input at all. Ended up finding a local mechanic to take a look at my vehicle and he replaced the part and was more than helpful. I had been able to look past the fact that they installed the cabin air filter wrong in my car and did not align the glove compartment properly but not this. I will no longer take my vehicle to Tuffy or recommend them.

Tuffy Tire & Auto is the very best. Theyve never overcharged me or recommend I get something I dont need. They are honest, trustworthy and affordable. I feel very lucky to have found them.

Took in my truck for a belt change and an oil change. Had the belt and oil they said they cant use customers parts which is fine. Took them 4 hours before I got notified it was done and ended up paying 100 dollars for an oil change and to top off some fluids. Didnt even get to the belt. Terrible never will I go to them for anything again.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. It’s terrible that I even have to rate them with one star to write this review to warn people not to use Tuffy’s. Owner doesn’t the know the difference between the transmission filter and oil filter, if that doesn’t tell you enough I don’t know what will. He also said that he won’t claim servicing my car when I told him I will seek legal counsel if he doesn’t fix what they messed up. Don’t go here if you want to take good care of your car.

I had a flat tire which revealed that, due to dry rot, all four tires would need replacing, a sizable output of funds. Rick, the manager at Beaufort’s Tuffy Tire, did everything to make this as painless as possible. I even got a ride home (while the tires were delivered and installed) and then, a pickup when everything was ready. My car is a 17-year old Subaru and I love it. Thanks to the good folks at Tuffy’s for helping me keep it going safely and smoothly. Superb, honestservice; recommended without reservation.

I stopped at this store Saturday to schedule replacing my tires, brake rotors and brake pads on my Tundra with 131000+ miles on the original rotors.....been resurfaced twice...second set of pads. Also offered and made a $500 deposit towards the brake parts. Looking back, I now recall the employee stating the he couldnt price the brake parts until a tech looked at the brakes. (Keep in mind I explicitly told him I wanted the rotors and pads replaced because Ive had problems with the brakes. Especially braking from higher speed 50 mph +) I dropped off my truck this morning at 7:30 am. Received a text message at 1:50 pm Paul, were working on the alignment now. Tires look good. Will be ready within the hour Rick@Tuffy I replied And the brakes? His reply All good...well over 50% left on all four corners...we should check again next summer..Rick@TuffyWell, Im not happy that the work I had requested was not done and I had to leave my vehicle there for 7+ hrs for the work (tires, a brake inspection and an alignment that I wasnt made aware of, which is not required.....my previous tires wore perfectly). The dealer could have done the same work in half that amount of time.Now, I still have braking issues at higher speeds (checked them on the way home) and now will have to lose my truck for another day to have the brake rotors replaced. I tow a boat often and am not happy about knowing that I still have brake issues! 50% or better braking does not give me much piece of mind for my safety when Im towing a boat at highway speeds at 4 or 5 in the morning, or towing at all really.Citing a miscommunication when my work order was put into their computer, and seeing my obvious frustration, Rick did offer to put the truck on a rack and measure the rotors while I watched. After having just explained my brake concerns for the second time, and knowing the rotors were not going to be replaced, I was not in the mood for the see, they are still within spec. game. The rotors need to be replaced! I paid the remainder of the bill and left. I may have to go elsewhere to have the brakes worked on. Too angry right now to even think about it.Its your money; shop wisely! I will.

Ive had the Tuffy team do a lot of work on my vehicles. Customer service is always professional and courteous (even when theyre very busy) and they always work to make things right when the repair is difficult. I recommend them to anyone needing their car repaired.

I walked in not knowing if it was a deal or not.I usually do my own repairs but there were some things that I just didnt want to deal with. Right after I came in Rick introduced himself and asked what I needed. I told him that I needed brakes. After an inspection I needed more than that but I could get along with the brakes at the moment. The thing I admire was he was straight with me through the process and kept with that all the way through. we figured what would work with my budget and got it done. I will definitely stay with these guys when I need help.

My car broke down on the way to a weekend with friends at the beach. They fixed it on SAT, were able to direct me to a rental car place, took my info over the phone for payment and when I picked up the car on Sunday it worked PERFECTLY!!! They really made my weekend!

RICK the OWNER of this business is beyond disrespectful, rude, and verbally aggressive! I have never in my life been spoken to by a business owner the way he spoke to me over the phone yesterday. Im shocked this mans still in business. I will NEVER take my vehicle there again or refer business to him.

After the passing of my father, my elderly mother needed a very good, honest, and dependable place for working on her 2002 Infiniti Q 45.I found Rick and his crew to be the most professional, competent, and helpful Auto service center in the entire city of Beaufort South Carolina.

I love Tuffys. A local friend recommended them since I was new to the area and they are the only place Ive been to, mainly for oil changes but supposed to have a tire patched up tomorrow. Rick and the whole crew are great. I will be loyal to Tuffys as my friend has been!

Terrible...PLEASE GO TO ANY OTHER AUTO SHOP! DO NOT GO HERE! They have the worst customer service of any auto shop or service center I have ever been to! They broke something in my car while working on it and then MADE ME PAY FOR IT. On top of that, it took them two weeks to fix something so simple (that they broke in the first place) in my car and they ended up doing more damage than repair to my vehicle and then made me pay for that replacement part. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT EVER USE TUFFY AUTO!

Terrible customer service. Ive been in there a few times and the owner/manager can be rude. I blew a tire once and went to them to but another. Since I just put on new tires just two months earlier, at Tuffy, I asked if I could get a discount. Rick basically talked to Mr like I was a moron for asking, since it wasnt a defect with the tire. I just was hoping to get a break, since I just spent around $1000 on the tires not long before. I blew that off, but not long ago my son went in to have his break lines looked at, which I also spent a few hundred dollars having repaired at Tuffy not long ago. When my son suggested that their repair might have been faulty, Rick got defensive and disrespectful. Words were shared between him and my son, and ultimately Rick followed him outside and threatened to knock his block off. My wife heard the majority of the conversation. Rick talked with my wife about the situation and basically lied to her over the phone about the conversation. I wont spend another dime there. Terrible customer service and a complete lack of integrity by the owner.

I asked Tuffy what kind of oil they use for oil changes. I was told they uses Lewis oil for oil changes. I never heard of Lewis. They are not a National Name brand but I bet it is cheaper than the national brands which is probably why they use it.I was told by another shop Lewis Oil sells new and recycled oil. Tuffy told they do NOT use reclaimed oil for oil changes and I dont claim they do but I prefer a national name brand oil be used especially on newer cars covered under a warranty.

We were from out of town and got a nail in our tire. Super fast service. We drove in and back out within about 20 minutes. Tire patch was $25.

I would strongly suggest to spend your money someplace else, the owner Rick actually yelled at me and called me a lier after I had to return to his shop after I had 4 new tires and alignment done the day before and after wheel speed sensor was broken during the installation. He never said anything about it and entered a code to turn the dash light off and allowed me to leave in a vehicle that was unsafe to drive at the fault of his shop.

Approximately 6 months ago I took my vehicle here for an alignment. They said the wheel bearings were in such bad shape that it could not be aligned, so I had them replace them. Yesterday had them checked out by three different mechanics at another shop and they said there is no way Tuffys replaced them. They had obviously just repacked the old ones and charged me for new. Buyer beware.

Had a oil leak and they discovered that the problem was a loose oil filter. I had them change my oil and to look for any other problems. They did a great job and I was in and out in 30 minutes.

Came in to get a glass pack welded on and they tried to tell me that it wouldnt sound good when ive had glasspacks on all my cars. Yea I know the fiber glass will melt out, thats the point, I want it to be loud. Tried to make a 30 dollar welding job into a 350 dollar job for a new exhaust.
