Ive always done business here in the pass. Pulled up to the shop to ask a mechanic to quickly listen to a noise my car was making. It was some guy Ive never seen there before, he rudely informed me that he was very busy, wide open. Never again! There are too many shops that want my business and money.

Mikes transmission and automotive got me back on the road quicker and much less expensive than I expected. He also took the time to explain what happened and why. I am so very happy with the service I received !!!

We had a check engine warning and oil leak problem causing fouled spark plugs - Chevrolet dealer/service center diagnosed that engine needed to be replaced - several thousand dollars or could be temporarily fixed by replacing spark plugs every few months. Mikes determined real problem (known Chevrolet problem) and fixed for a few hundred dollars. Very happy with their knowledge and honesty. Highly recommend.

About two weeks ago I got the call no LSU dad ever wants to get: “Dad, the car is making a funny noise and it won’t go. Could it be the transmission? What should I do?” My wife and I do our best to supply our daughter with the safest, most reliable transportation we can afford, “afford” meaning we couldn’t send her to Baton Rouge in a car as new as we’d have liked. Her 2003 Mercury Mountaineer was in good condition, however, with good tires, functioning air conditioning, etc. The issue of the failed transmission, however, forced us to question whether we should junk the car or repair it. We live in Louisiana, but I could not get to Baton Rouge to check on the car myself, much less personally scope out a mechanic to check the car and give us advice. We were in a jam.Relying on very positive Google and other on–line reviews, along with some prayers and a hunch, I called Mike’s Transmission. Stephanie took my call. I explained our situation and that the most important factors were our daughter’s safety and reasonable economy, in that order. Stephanie took charge and arranged to have the car towed to their shop. She called me the next day with a diagnosis and a solid price. Knowing what I do after working on cars myself for over 30 years, I know we received excellent advice and wonderful service from Mike and Stephanie. Mike rebuilt the transmission and took care of another repair that the stealership had never been able to fix, all for a very fair price and in record time. I paid the bill over the phone and felt safe sending my daughter to Mike’s shop to pick up the car when it was finished. I have since collected the car to drive it myself and I find the transmission to be operating perfectly. I’m particularly pleased that Mike provides a written 2 year/24,000 mile warranty on the transmission. Diagnosed the problem promptly, needed a new transmission, we a visiting from PA went with a Jasper unit to have a nation wide warranty, once the transmission was delivered had it back on the road the next day.
