I called to cancel the service as I was not going to be here. The lady said she would cancel the service and have them call to reschedule. They came today anyway.... had only been two weeks since the prior service. Obviously, the technician never got the cancellation. Better communication is needed with the office and those in the field.

I had a carpenter ant problem in my previous home about 25 years ago and called Orkin, they were professional and through. I never had another problem with ants. So, when I discovered carpenter ants in my brand new home, Orkin was my first call. They provided a stellar experience. Professional, on time and I love their connection to their customers…I received texts confirmation of the appointment, a reminder of the appointment and also an email outlining everything that was done and the plan going forward.Very happy customer 😁

Appointment was schedule for Monday. Received a call to reschedule it for Tuesday 10-12pm. Requested day off from work. At 10:40, I called Orkin to check on the ETA and was then informed that he was running late and wouldn’t arrive until 12:15. Orkin should’ve called to forewarn customer. I also had a personal appointment scheduled for 12:45. Farrah said she would switch his stops around so he would arrive around 11:45. At 12:20, I called Orkin again to let them know I had to leave, that’s when I received a call from Orion’s driver saying he would arrive in 25 mins. I told him I had to leave but I can meet him at 1:30. We met up then, he was great and took care of it. But what I’m disappointed in is the lack of communication and rescheduling. Please do not waste your customers’ time and quote accordingly, as they may have other plans/limited PTO.

I am so so disappointed. Getting the initial appointment scheduled was so easy and I even told the guy so. I guess I jinxed it. They scheduled me for between 4-6 on Thursday and never came. It’s 6:30 now no call no text nothing. I called the company twice and both representatives were beyond unhelpful. Service department was closed, someone will call first thing, can’t see who my technician is or get into contact with him. I can’t wait around all night for him to show up, I have other things to do. I understand if someone is running late but at least call. Reading other reviews it seems this is a major flaw. Avoid at all costs. So damn disappointed.

Called and arranged mosquito treatment well ahead of our arrival and got a confirmation that it will be done. It wasnt. Called numerous times. Sent emails. Never got a response from our local Bangor office. Just ghosted by Orkin. A very bad experience. Called a local company and got serviced promptly.

Jared is very professional and did a complete walk-thru of the house, to include the attic crawl space and root cellar basement. He explained what he was doing the entire I was with him. Very pleasant to work with.

We had a large number of carpenter wasps burrowing into our deck. Had some trouble initially getting a live person to respond to us, but then got a call from Dave, who handles our area. He was pleasant, responsive, and showed up when he said he would. Spent time going over our issues, took care of the initial treatment, and we were very relieved that he took care of our infestation!! Would definitely recommend!

We had ant nests and eggs under our siding that we had removed. Bill came out and put bait inside and sprayed the perimeter. He was very thorough and explained the process well. Great experience! (Orkin, not the ants!).

Orkin sends appointment reminders in advance and the branch that services my home has a very professional crew. Typically I have the same Orkin man each time but on occasion there may be a sub. I’m always impressed with their professionalism and service oriented way.

The customer service rep, El, was fantastic when i called to get a quote, very personable and very nice. They had a tech respond the very next day and Josh was very quick and good at explaining the issue, to include the asian beetles that were attracting the wasps/hornets to my home. He offered to spray inside around my windows for the beetles and then proceeded outside to take care of the wasps/hornets. He was quick and efficient, i have nothing bad to say about the service from Orkin!

The services we have been receiving haven’t seemed to help much, and since we are gardeners and have pets, as well as being plagued with more than just mosquitoes, we had decided to discontinue our services and try a more natural product. On the day of my last scheduled servicing, the technician was scheduled to be at my house at 12noon. I called customer service at 10am and explained that I needed to reschedule because I would not be home and my two kids would be there alone with our dogs. The CS agent was very helpful and professional and explained that she had cancelled our service for the day and that a technician would call me, at which time I had already decided to discuss cancelling our service. I did not receive a call from the technician. Instead, around 5pm, I noticed a text that had been sent around 4:41pm stating that Orkin was on their way and another at 4:45pm stating that they were there. Not only did I not give them permission to spray my property, and not only did they not speak with an adult at all prior spraying, nor did my children have any idea they were coming, and therefore could not have known to make sure our dogs were inside, but we also were not able to advise our tenants. All of this in addition to the fact that I specifically told them NOT TO COME that day. I find this entire situation not only unprofessional but also very irresponsible and unethical.

Orkin cancelled my scheduled service 3 times now due to “short staffing”. It finally came to a head when we came home to an actual ant infestation since the program we have open was to remediate ant problems. I called Orkin in Bangor and their response was, “Oh…sorry, we just don’t have anyone. Call back again in a month”. That doesn’t help me at all and they’ve lost this customer as well as their reputation in my books along with my references to friends and clients.

This is only our second experience with Orkin. This was their first visit this year. Jim was very professional, arrived on time, explained the program very well and completed the service in a timely manner (well, except for the time that we engaged him in conversation as we shared common interests).

I am now re-changing my review and we are now at one star. Id say dont use this service, but you cant even if you want to. They literally have no staff in Bangor as of my last call. I still have not received service since my last review (2 months ago). Ive had 2 no shows since then. Ive been escalated to management twice and never been called back. I found out they had pre-charged my card and I have now demanded my money back. And today, I was told that they are now hiring someone and might be able to show up in September, which is a month from now. But again, I only found out because Ive been calling every day trying to get someone to tell me whats going on.Well, Ive never done this, but Im updating my rating after a management change from a five to two star. I have been calling Orkin for a month now to try to get carpenter ants treated at my house. The first appointment they canceled day of via text message, the second one they no showed and then never called to reschedule. I called everyday for a week and every time was told by customer service that they couldnt reach the service department and the service department would call me back to reschedule. I never received a call and had to keep calling. Finally I was escalated to the regional manager who was supposed to call me back in 48 hours. 4 days later, and I have still not received a call. Finally got service today but not during my window. I called around halfway through the 2-hour window because I hadnt heard anything from them and was told that my service person had taken on additional people before me and would not be showing up until 3 hours after my window. I dont know what happened to this company but I have never seen a bigger transition for the bad in such a short period of time.For reference, heres my old review.We love our Orkin team. Theyre reliable, helpful and so friendly. They do a really good job communicating when theyre coming for service, which makes my life easy. Its one less thing to worry about.

When we first started using Orkin they would email you a week or so in advance to let you know they would be coming. Now they just send you an email saying they are on their way. I am not happy about that at all.

We purchased our Camp in October and hired Orkin to take care of wasps. They were expensive but offered a year warranty. When we reopened the camp in May, the wasps were still there. We called to act on their warranty, they told us that the “One Year Warranty” expired December 31: it was actually a one and a half month warranty. Of course, there was also the problem that they hadn’t handled the wasps at all in the first place, so they wanted to charge us twice for nothing. They don’t stand by their work.

Signed up for program. No one showed in July, Called and scheduled no one showed was just told when I called in that they no longer service this area. Never a call or anything. I will never use them again.

My service technician Peter Lizotte is very good. He is thorough in his inspections and shows me what I should be watching for to help with my own inspections between his visits. He has done an amazing job using the right treatment to really diminish the number of roaches in a short amount of time. I’ve been using Orkin at my off-the-grid home in Maine for four years now. They come every other month and have had consistent high performance from both technicians that have serviced my home—external and internal. Scheduling is good and they show up within the 2 hour window. Services have effectively controlled the various pests that you live with in rural areas. Both of my technicians have been professional and quite thorough. Very happy with the services.

I have had 7 ticks I have had to kill in my yard decided call a exterminator called orkin they came down inspect yard and went right to town called em one day they were there the very next day very professional dressed suit very clean manner someone you feel very comfortable doing business with and they get the task done even gave me very good advice to get rid of another problem without trying sell me on everything theese people worth every penny I prey theese ticks stay gone but I have Orkin now monthly for the summer I feel more protected I advise everyone this is the season and ticks are no joke in maine with diseases like lime disease thank you Orkin for taking care of my yard and family now we can finally bbq without be attacked.

Orkin was fabulous. They answered all my questions on the phone, then came within 48 hours. Very accommodating - treated the house, basement, yard, shed, deck and problem trees. Since I work full time, the agent was supposed to call me to set a time for me to open the house to spray inside for cluster flies. They never did. I called to have them return last Wednesday to spray and have still not had a call back. It is mid morning Monday.

Really impressed with what a great job Orkin did coming out to my house for an initial visit today. They were very thorough and explained everything before treating the property. I live on an acre of waterfront land on a lake with terrible mosquitos, ticks and spiders. It’s only been an hour since they sprayed and I am already noticing a huge difference! My technician Josh was helpful and explained exactly how he would handle our mice and carpenter ant problem. We surveyed the home and he pointed out entry points and how hed handle them. I have been using Orkin Services out of the Bangor Maine office for over a year. I had no complaints until this past Sept. I heard more rodent activity and called to have a tech come to my home. I was told they would not be able to come until Oct 14th. I requested that if there were any cancellations or openings to please let me know. I was told that the only tech in the area was out for personal reasons. I then recieved a text stating that I would be having a tech here on Oct.1st between 12pm and 2pm. At 11 AM on the 1st I recieved a text stating that they were here, that I was not here and that they would reschedule me for the 21st of Oct. I called the Bangor office at 11:05 to say Im home, will you have the tech come back. Several phone calls later, unanswered calls to the tech from the girls in the office, only to be told the tech is in Mars Hill (an hour and a half from my home) so he will not be able to come to your area until the 14th I do not believe the tech was at my home on the 1st but felt that I would just have to wait. I recieved a text today Oct. 12th stating that my service was rescheduled for the 21st of Oct. I called to cancel my contract and was told that there is only one tech in the area and he is scheduled in Presque Isle on the 14th. I expressed that this is not my problem. Hire more technicians. I dont pay you for a sob story. I pay you to provide a service. Dont take my money in good faith, and then lie and cover. Here is a tip, be upfront and honest with your customers that you dont have the manpower to take on the job.
