A few weeks back in the middle of the summer heat we were noticing that the second floor of our house felt like it was stagnant and sweltering while the downstairs was cool. I know that with heat rising and with the sun pounding down on the roof all day a second floor is going to be warmer anyway, but it was very uncomfortable. Chris came out to see what could be done, and I had assumed he might take a look at the outside AC unit and then make recommendations from there. I was surprised when he came inside and did a complete walk around to thoroughly assess what the issue was and how it might be resolved. He educated me on how the system worked, how much air was being pulled from the return on the first floor compared to the second, and then actually spent the time to show me how to adjust the manual dampers on the duct work to achieve different airflow to different ducts in the house. No one had explained/shown me how that worked in such great detail before, and I was impressed with his attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond to educate me on what was happening with the air circulation in the house and how to address it. He showed me the difference from the before/after adjustments and it was surprising to feel the difference so quickly. He was friendly, courteous, followed Covid safety protocol, answered all my questions, and made me feel like this company would do work you could trust in because they know their stuff, inside and out! I can say that if we need our unit serviced or decide to upgrade to an automatic damper system, I will be calling Maryland Heating and Air!

Had an estimator come out for a full replacement of my HVAC and water heater. Wasnt the most knowledgeable HVAC walk-through but was OK for a customer who already knew what they needed/wanted. Spent almost an hour at the house and left saying hed get me a proposal. A week went by; heard nothing. I then reached out and he replied that hed provide it that night; heard nothing. That was over a month ago. I guess they didnt want the job. There are better ways to say no than just ghosting a customer.

UPDATE: After a long, annoying battle with my home warranty company, we decided to forgo getting the work done through them because we decided we would rather go with quality work than settle for cheap, low quality work. So we got the replacement of our entire system through Maryland Heating and Air. They were, of course, still wonderful. Very professional, thorough, and hard working. They even found another, unrelated problem with our sewer line while in our basement and pointed it out to us so that we would be aware! Im less happy that I have yet another thing broken in my house that needs to be fixed, but really grateful that they pointed it out so that we could take care of it before it gets worse. Thank you Maryland Heating & Air!I just wanted to say how much I appreciate Maryland Heating & Air. I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to complete my repair/replace with them because my home warranty (1.4 star rated) company required we use their contractor (2.6 star rated). Maryland Heating & Air were really just wonderful for what we did do with them. They deserve every 4.9 stars that they are currently rated. They are punctual, professional, they care about really making sure they have fully investigated the situation to know exactly what the problem is, if there is one. They showed to me and explained what was wrong with our air conditioning after an exhaustive 3.5 hour dedicated investigation. Contrast this with the 20 minutes the home warranty contractor took to poorly investigate and determine there was NOTHING WRONG and no mechanical repair needed. Then when my claim was subsequently denied by my home warranty, Maryland Heating & Air were kind enough to send me a report of their findings and estimate of needed repairs so that I could submit that as a Second opinion to my home warranty company for an appeal. I dont know the outcome of the appeal yet, but the trouble I have had with my home warranty company and the contractor they sent to me just emphasized to me even more how wonderful Maryland Heating & Air are. I feel like they care about people, about work ethic and hard work when it is necessary, and about being good, reliable and knowledgeable in what they do. So I wanted to make sure that was said. We received estimates from several HVAC companies for a new Heat Pump. Maryland Heating & Air did not only have the best competitive price, but they were super friendly, HONEST and had our new yet installed within a week of placing the order.They were also the only company who told us that our old unit which we purchased 13 years ago was installed incorrectly. We had several companies out for maintenance over the years and no one ever informed us that it was not installed correctly, which is why it was not functioning properly.We will definitely be using them for now on and highly recommend them.

Just got a new furnace and installed by Maryland Heating & Air on March 8, 2021. I contacted Jason and we scheduled a free estimate. His assessment of what I needed and recommended were similar to other estimates I received. His glowing Google reviews was the deciding factor. The installation was a 1 day process for our home. They through what they do, were thorough, and also cleaned up after themselves. They also wore booties inside your home. Awesome since we take our shoes off in our home. They are quick, honest and knowledgeable. Will be go to for any future needs. Highly recommended to anyone.

I had a great experience with this company. All the people I have encountered with whether on the phone or in person have been amazing. Chris educated me on my old 32 years unit vs the new unit that was replaced. Jason was very helpful and showed me how to use the new thermostat that was install because I am not tech savvy lol... the other guys that assisted with installation was nice as well and very good with the clean up. Dispatch person was very accommodating, they sent a technician from a different area since I needed the service to my HVAC unit done this week. Scott from Maryland Heating & Air came to my condo on time and performed a regular tune up in very reasonable time. He also provided some recommendations and explained the reasons for them, he was not alarmist or pushing for me to do those things right away, I never felt pressured to do them all at once. We agreed on doing a very small repair on the cable box along with the tune up. He was using mask and maintaining social distance, and using booties when entering the unit. Excellent service! A friend referred me to Maryland Heating & Air when my system would not change over from cool to heat this fall. I called them yesterday, and by 11:00am today everything was fixed and working again. The Technician was knowledgeable and efficient. The office staff I spoke with to schedule and arrange payment were friendly and helpful.I was so happy with the service visit that I also signed up for a Maintenance Package that includes two annual check-ups for my HVAC system.

The technician that was sent to my home to replace the motor in the furnance and he did the clean up of another contractor previously used for my hot water heater. The technician was very courteous and he followed the COVID-19 protocol. He was prompted, respectful, and cleaned. He completed the job in less than 4 hours window that was provided to complete the repair. This company will be my permanent contact for all of my heating and air repair needs.

I’m only giving this company 1 ⭐️ because 0 ⭐️ was not an option. They came to my home as a Third Party Contractor through a very Inconsiderate & Unprofessional Management Company. I never received a courtesy call, no notice was given, I never even knew the day or time that they would be coming. They entered my home unannounced & unbeknownst to me with a “Masterkey” given to them by that same Management company. During such a very difficult & uncertain time due to this current COVID-19 Pandemic they entered my home with no facial mask/covering while my minor daughters and myself were still asleep in our beds. My youngest daughter startled me out of my sleep and informed me that someone was downstairs in our home. Before calling 911 I instructed my children to seek safety while I went to investigate what was going on. As I came downstairs I saw that my front door was open, and one of the workers was using my personal bathroom as the other was entering my front door. I asked who they were, who sent them, and inquired how & why they were in my home without my permission. One of the workers took offense to my question and proceeded to tell me that he was given permission to be there by the Property Managers who own the property because I only rent there. Even the workers themselves agreed that they did not agree with the methods by which the Property Managers allowed them to so easily & readily enter the homes of others not knowing what could be the outcome. But not once did that have any bearing of the fact that they do it every day. In complete dismay & disgust all I could do was break down in tears at the mere possibility of what could have happened had I not been present that day: Suppose I had not been home and my minor teenage daughters had to face the experience of being alone surrounded by strange men they didn’t know, suppose one or both of the workers associated with this company had been exposed to this deadly virus and passed it along to my children or myself, suppose something had been stolen who would have ever known but the burden of proof would have been all mines to bear. The point that I’m making is there a way to do business in a well-communicated, well-mannered, respectful, and more importantly professional way and Maryland Heating And Air did not convey either of those qualities. I would not recommend them for even the simplest of task because while their ratings are good because of the work they provide...The quality of the persons moral/value system should also be equally as important. ***NOTE*** I almost forgot to mention: As if all of those misfortunes were not enough when I returned home today I realized that my back door as well the security gate for the back door were left not only unlocked but completely open to the elements, any passing by thieves/robbers, as well as any stray cats, rodents, or pest to enter my unattended home. Is that anyway to do professional business??? Such a sad state of affairs, Such terrible ethnics. Try them at your own risk people, the choice is yours but you’ve definitely heard my Red Flag 🚩 My Management Company sure knows how to pick’em!!!

I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this company. From the jump, everything went smooth. My online request for an estimate was responded to fast. Chris C. was out for a quote within a few days. He spent real time looking at my system, finding out what my needs are and providing multiple ideas. Scheduling was just as easy. The installers (Jason and Chris M.) just completed the job a few hours ago. They were on time, friendly and extremely professional. You could tell they really cared about doing a great job. And just a few hours after they got here, Ive got a great new system and cold air blowing through the entire house. I am now READY for summer!

This company is outstanding. They have been maintaining and providing parts for the coast guard station in Annapolis for quite a while now. They have been able to facilitate a great technician to come out the very next day to get the station heat working for the duty crew to be comfortable while standing a 24 hour watch responding to Search and Rescue. I called late on a Saturday and my technician was there by early Sunday morning to look at my furnace. He was friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. The situation with my heating was more than anticipated. The house has old radiators and pipes. When he arrived there was no heat other than in my basement. I now have heat throughout the house. We only contact them when we are too hot/cold and need quick service. I feel like a lot of companies take advantage of this.When I reached out to Maryland Heating and Air, another company had already come out and looked at my unit and told me that my ENTIRE HVAC needed to be replaced, including my hot water heater! They also red tagged it and said that I should not use it again as it would kill my entire family in the night. Maryland Heating and Air inspected and did basic maintenance for $100 and had me working again.I will continue to work with them as they are HONEST and a great value. Such a refreshing experience.

We recently had a whole new heat pump system put in our home by Maryland Heating and Air. What a great company!!Not only did the original technician who came out conduct himself professionally and very polite, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful answering all of our questions about the problems we had with our existing system.We also met with the owner Chris as we had some duct work issues and he was quite impressive as well.Our new system was put in and has been working great, our heating bill is a drop in the bucket compared to what it was with our old unit.We recently had a question- our call was returned by the owner and answered promptly.I highly reccommend this company. AMAZING. My Baltimore City townhouse was built about 20 years ago, using an unconventional through-the-roof technique for the HVAC, involving placement of all the system components, including the compressors, inside the Attic and extending through the roof, concealed by dormer architectural features . It made the replacement of one of the heat pumps extraordinarily difficult. The MH&A professionals went to extremely great lengths to complete the repair. I cannot even describe the scope of the efforts adequately. The guys were fantastic, professional, and SO hardworking and the company honored its estimate even though they could not possibly have anticipated all that work. And, after 12 exhausting hours in a summer attic, they still cleaned every bit of construction dust before they left.

I had a GREAT experience. The Tech who worked on my system was incredibly thorough and walked through everything he was doing. He was polite and asked before entering the home or making his way to the basement to look at the air handler. He even walked me through some basic preventive maintenance things that I wasnt aware of and even taught me how to change the thermostats on my water heater (which was completely unrelated to my service call, but appreciated nonetheless!) - everything was diagnosed and handled the same day (he even ran to a nearby supply house in order to get the additional refrigerant my monster heat pump needed) and I absolutely appreciated his professionalism.While I did have to wait several days for service (my A/C went out on Thursday and my service call was Monday afternoon) that was just due to me being a little bit of a cheapskate and not wanting to pay a higher rate to have them come out on the weekend.I would recommend these folks to anyone who asks - could not be more satisfied!

Let me say that this company is 5 star superb. Chris is t.v. comercial professional, and even more honest and trustworthy. My ac unit had stopped working, and Chris went out of his way to inspect the ac unit the same day my fiance called him. He went above and way beyond in inspecting the ac unit, located the issues, fixed the issues, and charged me something super fair and very reasonable. I will call this company, and this company only when I replace my old ac unit. I cant overstate how pleased and thankful I am to see such a high level of quality, honesty, and professionalism. I would reccomend this company to anyone.

My heat went out on the coldest day this year and Chris called me back and set up a appointment with details of the technician who was also called Chris who was so polite,respectful and professional and explained everything to me. Diagnosed my problem and had the company order parts and reschedule the repairs and Justin came and fixed my heat and he was also so kind and professional, even suggested I install carbon monoxide detectors. Such an amazing group of people and Lindsey the receptionist was also so swert and professional. Would definitely recommend them,its not always about the work,its how they make you feel... thanks,you would think they paid me to say this but no,thats how good they are.

Ive been waiting to review this company because I wanted to see how how much money I was going to save on the new units they installed back in March. (I hired them to replace a 20 year old central air unit after the compressor went out.) I was assured that it would be significant.Ive recently had a chance to compare last years utility bills to this years and WOW!In May and June, my bill was approximately 40% lower this year than the previous year. AND it was hotter this year! The salesman was spot on.From my first phone call to their office, to the estimate visit, down to the day of replacement, everything went really well.I would certainly recommend them if youre thinking about a new central air conditioner.

The service was outstanding but the customer service was far above and beyond expected. My elderly Aunt pays BGE Home $27/mo to supposedly include an annual inspection and on-call availability. When her A/C stopped working it was bad enough that they couldn’t make it out for almost a week. But add to that they did a “full inspection” in April (only spent 10 mins) and they advised her everything was good to go which was not the case. Jim was the technician for Maryland Heating & Air, and not only did he respond the next evening, but he spent 2 hours out in the 101 degree weather fixing the problem. He took the time to explain what was going on, and what to keep an eye out for in the future - to include how those annual inspections should be done. He treated my aunt well, and she was so grateful for his help. This company cares about more than just making a buck. They are building a reputation based on honest hard work and effort. Do not let them do your Home Warranty Work. They will gouge you on uncovered cost. They get paid from the home warranty company and make you pay ridiculous fees to finish the work. They charged me over $600 in uncovered cost. Charges like $65 for electrical upgrade fee, and they simply disconnected the old electrical wire and connected the wire to the new furnace. $60 for a flue modification fee and they just used my old flue. I spoke with the lady that answers the phone and the service manager and they both told me I should be happy to only pay $600 for a new furnace. After paying my deductible and trouble shooting fees I was out about $1,300 to replace my furnace. I was stuck because they were the company my warranty company picked. I should have asked for someone else to start with. Consider yourself warned!

This company replaced my air handler last year. They did a poor job with the duct work and did not offer to fix it when it became an issue this summer. They only warranty their work for 6 months. Now I have to get someone else to fix their shoddy work. Do not recommend!

We turned on our heat a few days ago and it stopped working. Rooftop unit on a row home in upper fells.Yesterday, I called up as a new customer. Spoke to a very pleasant woman (Melissa?). She was able to get me scheduled right away, with a tech who was able to come out that day/evening or the next day. I opted for the next day between 8AM and 12PM.Service Call (today)- Field Tech (Chris) called me 15 minutes prior to arriving and made it to my house within the first hour of my time window. When he arrived he was very professional, polite and got straight to work diagnosing the problem. Only took him a few moments to locate the issue with our system even though it was raining very hard.He verified all other components were working properly to make sure no unnecessary parts were purchased to fix it. He took the time to explain how the furnace part of my HVAC system works, what part failed, and why it failed. He went out to get the proper oem part and replaced it correctly. He tested the system, and verified all functions. We had our system back up and running in no time.Great Experience! Appointment booking was easy and the tech was awesome!Thank you!

We recently bought a Baltimore row house that was built in the early 1900s. Although there was air conditioning installed in the house about 10 years ago the upstairs was consistently over 85 degrees despite the air conditioning that was running 24/7; and, our electric bill was sky high. When Chris came to diagnose the problem, he quickly identified that there was no return vent on the top floor. He walked us through the changes he recommended and left us with his phone number in case we had additional questions. We hired them to do the job but the only negative was that we had to wait about 2 weeks before they could perform the work. When all was said and done their work was amazing. The house now cools the way it should and is a much welcome change in this oppressively hot weather. Would highly recommend Maryland Heating and Air for any of your HVAC needs.

Our AC stopped working around noon and Maryland Heating and Air was here by 5:30... in the middle of a heat wave! I called many places in the Baltimore area and Maryland Heating and Air was the only company who could come out day of. They had the problem fixed in 30 minutes and their prices were very reasonable.
