We had to put our dig down today. He was ten years old and had lived a good life however being a Rottweiler and about 159 lb he had hip issues and a other old age issues . We called and they made an appointment to bring him in at 4:30 . When we arrived due to COVID we had to call to tell them we had arrived. They had us park and said they would contact us when they had a room ready. They also let us know that only two people could go in the room. My daughter in law and Grandson wanted to be in the room so we agreed. About thirty minutes later they called and asked if we wanted to euthanize him in the back if the care or in the room ???? We said the room, that is why we brought him there. He was able to walk in the office and my Daughter in law and Grandson went with them . By now it was about five fifteen . So I went in and paid . We let them know that we would take her m with us to bury at a friends farm. So we waited, and waited at about six twenty . My daughter in law came out and said that we needed to drive around back because it would be easier to lift him in the car . I was shocked that they still hadn’t euthanized him yet . What were they doing? We turned the car around to. Ack in a parking space and they were caring him out on a stretcher !!!! We thought that they had already done the procedure. No, they decided to euthanize him in the parking lot!!! So what we thought would be a peaceful experience was a nightmare. I had to help restrain my dog, the same dog I saved from the shelter. He wouldn’t even look at me . He tried so hard to get away. It was getting dark and the Dr. actually had us turn the car around and shine the headlights on the dog so that he could see what he was doing. He gave him the shot and listenedfor a heartbeat . Then walked away. This Dr. should be ashamed of himself . My seven year old GrandsonHad to watch all if this . My heart was just broken. My husband was so angry and sad . I would not recommend this Veteran to anyone. Ever . He’s got no compassion. So sad😞

When we scheduled our Golden Retriever (Pixie Dust) for vaccines, the receptionist was very accommodating and pleasant to speak with. You hardly get front office personnel like her nowadays. I took in my 15 year old dog in, thinking I was going to have to put her down. Dr. told me he didn’t think she needed to be put down so he did blood work and x rays found out she going to be ok. I’m glad I took her in she is moving around slowly. I will be taking my other dogs to him

Dr. Paulson has been my go-to veterinarian for 15 years now. In all that time, Ive never felt rushed, and always feel like he genuinely cares. Hes never pressured my into the most expensive option, and for the few serious procedures I have had to put a pet through, his advice has always been centered around the pets long-term quality of life. There can be a bit of a wait to see him sometimes, but only because he gives every animal in his office his complete attention, and never rushes you out the door. I cant recommend Stine Vets enough.

Waited a while, which I guess is quite normal in a busy practice. The reception staff were most helpful, super friendly, and quite patient. The doctor was patient, empathetic and gentle, really important with small animals. Once done it was a seamless and efficient exit. Kitty has recovered really well thanks to their loving care.

I met several employees during my visits and I have to say each of them were very nice. The doctor took his time, answered all my questions and more. I will not go to any other vet. Best veterinarian in town !!! I had a horrible experience at Stockdale Veterinary Hospital with Dr Van Koop he was so very rude, impatient and threw me n my poor cat out because I needed details of treatments he wanted to do for a sinus infection which was gonna cost me $1,000 . I came from out of town for the appointment, he left me crying n my poor cat very stressed out from the way they treated her ...so I called Dr Paulsons receptionist and was crying and I was so amazed how they had me bring my cat in immediately. The Dr new exactly what was wrong and already had a treatment plan for her and barely $200 and my fur baby was very well taken care of and the very next day she has already improved. Im very thankful for this Vet and all his staff was amazing ....!!!!!!

The clerical staff offer excellent customer service, well mannered & upbeat. If I could rate on the clerical staff alone, especially at the front desk, theyd get five stars. If I were to rate the vet alone itd be 0 stars. I left wondering if I should have asked him for proof that he was the real doctor or maybe a person off the street. His appearance was disheveled. He didnt answer any monetary questions correctly. And he repeatedly asked questions and made remarks that made it very clear to me that he had a purpose that had nothing to do with listening to the pet owners questions and concerns. I could add more but I feel thats enough.

I have been bringing my animals here for the past 12 years and have decided to part ways. The front office staff is great and has always been. I used to get seen shortly after checking in for my appointment but for the past 3 years, I have had to wait at least an hour to see the Dr.. I used to really like the doctor but the last few years, it seems that he is only interested in selling me things I dont need for my pets.

Dr. Paulson does a thorough job in trying to find out what ills your pet. He is good with explaining a clear solution. I appreciate that he gives estimate prior to treatment. My pet quickly gets better after the treatments. I appreciate the kindness and thoughtfulness of his staff as well.

I brought my daughters dog in for a very red swollen toe. The front office staff was very friendly to the people that were there but especially the animals. They seemed to love every cat and dog that came in. The doctor that treated Lolly was very professional and said it was either an infection or a tumor. Gave her a pain shot and an antibiotic shot and sent her home with some meds. She was better the next morning and now the swelling is down about 50 0/0. So I guess it is just an infection. I will recommend this vet to every one I know.

The staff is very nice and polite, the office is very clean and the doctor has always been nice and answered all of my questions. I have been coming to this office for 5 years and have been happy with the care my dogs have received. We recently took our litter of puppies from my yorkie and they did an amazing job taking care of their needs!

Doctor is VERY rude. He has the worst bed side manners when it comes to the pets. He is rude to customer and inflates the prices gives one price and when you get there its another price. Failed to contact customer to discuss other options and being irate with paying customers. Performing procedures without contacting customer. Prices are VERY high. I would think twice before taking your pet there. He seems to care more about the MONEY than the pet. However, the staff is good but they are NOT the ones that are performing the surgery.

While traveling thru Bakersfield we called to see if they could provide a small treatment on our small dog we faxed the medical records and called back later to see if they received records and they did and would review called back and said they did not have time I told my wife she informed me it takes 1 minute 20 seconds I guess we are not spending enough to waste there time

We took our loving cat Hope (Guess) to see the doctor he was wonderful he had his front claws removed and he did a great job he is back running around . I wont take my animals to any other Vet. He is the best. Thank you for taking such great care of our baby.

I dont like posting reviews, especially when theyre negative because I always think about my own business and career. However, for this, I had to make an exception. We have a male and female french bulldog. We know this breed is delicate and sensitive, so when we found out our female was expecting, we immediately took her in. We paid for an ultrasound, lab work, x-rays, all for a total of $400. We didnt mind the bill because we love our pets and their health and safety is our priority. The vet gave us a date to expect the puppies, but unfortunately it was off by 2 WHOLE WEEKS!! Our female went into labor without us knowing and out of 5 puppies only 2 survived. We paid $2000 for an emergency c-section at 3 in the morning at a 24hr vet hospital. If I hadnt heard her yelping for help outside our window, we wouldve never known she was in labor and wouldve woken up to a dead female with the rest of her puppies still inside. I feel its not okay to be this off especially knowing the delicate nature of the breed. The Stine vet wasnt very empathetic and took no responsibility for the outcome once we explained the situation. He felt WE as owners were not specific enough about when she was initially bred. Okaaayyyyyyy so then what were all those diagnostics for?? The vet that performed the c-section said he wouldve warned us to take her temperature, check if shes eating, basic signs that wouldve indicated labor to make up for the fact neither he nor we were spot on for the due date. This I wouldve been okay with. But this vet at the Stine Clinic gave us a date and we trusted his diagnoses. Moral of the story: take your pets somewhere else if you want a correct diagnosis for their safety and what youre going to pay.

I paid 760.00 for them to treat my dogs bladder infection. I feel like that was an unusually high price. The doctor is nice enough, but I feel like I was taken for a ride. I sure do miss Dr. Connor in Castaic where I used to live. He was and excellent vet and charged reasonably.

If you have a cat and are looking for a vet, I suggest you take them to Serenity Cat hospital. I absolutely hated this place when I got to the hospital they said I wasnt on the record but that they would try to fit me in, waited about an hour and a half and the doctor who looked at my cat not only suggested for me to leave the room while he checked her took about what seemed like 5 seconds to look at her. After he was done looking with only a flash light he told me that her eye would have to come out eventually because I had little to no chance that the medication would help her eye such bs, I chose to cancel her check up appointment and took her Serenity Cat Hospital instead and I got completely different news. Her eye doesnt need to come out and its even looking much better now!Never again will I choose Stine veterinary.Update: 5 years later my cat has BOTH her eyes and is happy and healthy!

My pitbull puppy Ringo will be 12 next month and I thought he had arthritis, previously diagnosed by Dr Thurman. have been on meds for over 2 years now. He began not using his back leg at all. I was referred to Stine and Dr PAulson performed xrays only to be told yes he has arthritis, but also bone cancer is why is leg is lame.. I thank you Stine Vet. Been using Stine Veterinary for almost 14 years. The staff and Dr. Paulson were very caring when I had to have my Border Collie Mix Big Girl put down due to cancer. Have been taking my Aussie Mix Cooper there since adopting him.

I have had a total of 5 cats and 3 dogs total at this place. They lost our records so when I set my appointment for some reason it was on my father in laws account. I have refered several people to this vet. After todat what I saw never again. I walked in to see that the lady was dragging my dog with a choker collar on. I know she drug him the entire way because because of what I witnessed. He has been choking since i got into the car with him.

We have been with Dr Paulson and Stine Vet for about 3 years now and we love them! They are all great at their jobs, from the assistants to the front desk staff, they are kind, caring, and remember their patients.. As for Dr. Paulson, he takes care of your animal wonderfully, and knows that they are not just pets but a part of the family. Hes gentle, informative, and thorough. The prices are also very reasonable, and they work with your finances because they understand. Well be going here as long as we have an animal!
