I was actually really disappointed when I dropped by to confirm a time with Robert as my expectation from what I had been told was set very high - I felt relieved that I would be in good hands - However, to the contrary, after a brief encounter/discussion with Robert, I realized he didn’t want the business and I left thinking how combative he was - Before writing my review I read some of the other reviews first and realized I had complete affirmation in my perspective and I wasn’t alone as other reviews voiced a similar theme - I will go way out of my way to thank someone for their work and let them know how much I appreciate what they did for me with tremendous gratitude and an incredible review, but courtesy works both ways and respect is mutual - I left this shop feeling very unwelcome and almost violated as if a personal boundary had been crossed, which, it had been in the absence of just simple professionalism - The whole experience was truly shocking.

The guys here are super knowledgeable! Probably the best tint shop around. I personally went to many of the tint shops here in Austin and this one fit the bill. It was the only one that felt professional and tailored to customers that actually knew what they were buying. All the other tint shops just gave me a bad feeling. Usually tint shops just sell whatever tint and the customers don’t know any better because they don’t educate them. Let me tel Lyon all tint is not created equally. This place is 3m crystalline certified and they earned that title. Yes crystalline tint is very expensive it man it makes a difference in the heat. So much better than the standard tint. Worst service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. After bringing my vehicle by and having them saying word for word that it would take “3 hours of labor” for installing an LED subwoofer ring, I agreed and brought it back to them 8am Wednesday morning. When I dropped it off I told them I needed it by 5:00 Thursday afternoon. Should be plenty of time for them to do one 3 hour project right? I had to call them multiple times, and after many lies that they were working on it, I finally got a call from them saying they couldn’t do it. When I went and picked up my vehicle, they left my LED light ring on the back of the vehicle and did not tell me. The light broke when I left the shop because they are so lazy and unaware to simply tell their customers basic information. I will not be going back, and will not be sending any friends, or customers their way!

From the time i came through the door they were helpful in all ways. They talk me through everything i needed for my truck never did they try to push extra on me. Just what i needed. Looks like im a customer for life. Prices are reasonable. Came out sounding like a concert. I will refer them to all the people i know. ✌😎

Brought in my 2019 RAV4 in to get the best tint possible in, and also to have them install 4 JBL speakers that I purchased on Amazon. They did the installation of both same day. This was 6 months ago...tint still is in great condition and the speakers still sound great.

We just added a new radio to our 2011 Toyota 4Runner. The Sony system has Bluetooth, Apple Carplay, hands free calling and a backup camera. Scott did great work and turn this work in just a few hours. They gave us a quote upfront on cost and hit that number. If you need car audio work done look them up.

I took my SUV to Sunshades Tint & Sound to have an aftermarket remote start installed that I purchased online. First of all, the customer services was great and they were very professional. During the installation, there were some concerns with the remote start that I purchased online, so Cody discussed what could be done in place of the one I purchased.Long story short, they installed one of theirs that worked with my SUV and I must say it has far more features than the one I purchased. And they charged me a better price then I had expected. I will definitely be a returning customer.

Long story short I accidentally dumped a latte into the USB ports in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and fried them. I went to five different garages *always calling to confirm they could do the work beforehand* and was turned away each and every time - saying only Jeep could fix it, I would have to track down the piece or I would have to leave my car for a minimum of four days just for it to be looked at. These guys fixed it in 90 minutes which included picking up the part - and did it at a third of the price I was quoted at Jeep. Will absolutely return in the future!

Daniel is fantastic and performed a quality job on Window film to darken and protect from heat.I am heading back to have him install a couple subwoofers in my truck.Would definitely recommend him.

I recently purchased a boat and all four speakers were blown out. Plus it had the original radio with a tape deck. I took the boat over to Sunshades and they installed a new Bluetooth radio deck with four speakers that sound awesome. Best part, they did it in one day which means I can get on the lake this weekend. Thanks Robert and the rest of sunshades, we will be back for more.

Overall, I give Sunshades 5 stars for installing a new radio with Apple CarPlay in my Toyota Tundra.I came in one afternoon asking about getting a new radio. I received a full consultation with recommendations on which radio to choose. They gave me an estimate of costs and also of timing - it took a while to get the parts in due to covid. This was completely understandable.Pricing was reasonable. I trusted their guidance, so I didn’t shop around. Not sure if it was a great deal or not, but the pricing seemed reasonable to me, and most importantly I trusted their expertise.A couple weeks later, I came in for the install. They completed the work same day, and the system works great. No complaints at all.I will be back to Sunshades soon for some other work I want done. I feel like I found a great shop. This place is awesome! I did pricing research before coming here, with the first place I called wanting $225 for removal and new tint and this place only wanting $150 for the same 2 services. I went ahead and upgraded to the tier 2 tint and I still only paid $185. My newly tinted back windshield is beautiful and I can actually see out of it for the first time in years. The guys at the shop also went above and beyond and looked into why my airbag warning light was on (something I had been putting off since I was quoted $100s to $2000 to get checked). Thanks to them, I now know what I need to do to fix the issue. I highly recommend this place!

My 12 Rockford Fosgate would sometimes not work, as if a connection might be loose. I had passed by their shop on early mornings and thought, I should go in one day and see if they can take a quick look. That day finally came. The gentleman who was there came right out, took a look and saw that everything appeared okay. He gave me a suggestion and now I will have a fix soon. I was highly impressed that he stopped what he was working on to take a look and humbly wouldnt accept a monetary exchange for his time. If I have anything sound or tint related moving forward, Im going to him!

This place is amazing let me tell you! I came in looking to have dual 12” kicker subs put in my truck and they got me in and out within a day. And on top of that they stayed past closing hours to finish it for me which is amazing and no other shop would have done that. These guys did a great job installing a dash cam front and rear in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. They gave me an estimate of cost and time which was completed quicker than quoted which is always a happy surprise. The price was also cheaper than the quote due to this. They charged a flat hourly rate and had no problem installing equipment which I purchased and brought in myself. Lastly, these guys were professional and competent. I recently got an amplifier and sub installed here and Scott and Robert did a great job! I installed some subs and amp my self to my 2014 F-150. After a day of not knowing why they weren’t working I gave up and took it to sunshades tint and audio. I went in and told him I was experiencing some problems so we went out and they had a look to see what the problem was. Being a beginner my wiring wasn’t the best and I didn’t have all the tools I needed to really get the best out of my amp and subs. After figuring out the problem he even took the time to fix my wiring (which didn’t look so good lol) and check my polarity. He took his time to help me put everything back how it was. And after the quick fix they made easy he didn’t charge me anything, but with the values these people have and how nice they are in my opinion it was unfair for him to be so kind enough to not charge me anything. They even asked to hear them to make sure it was working all right and sounded good even though I just went in to figure out why they weren’t working. They went above and beyond to make sure I had the best audio I can get out of my system, they are super kind people with years of experience and value their customers very high, I’m very happy with my subs and do not regret going to them one bit. I highly recommend anyone who wants there audio improved or tint be done, you go to them first. They know exactly what their doing and you won’t regret it. I for one will be going to get my tint redone there in the short future and you should too.

Excellent service.I called at 10:30 am about getting a new radio in my pickup for a vacation and needed it installed by 3:00 pm. Robert said if I came right over he would have me out by 2:00. Even after a delay finding a radio and parts to fit my 18 yr old pickup, he did the install and had me out by 1:55 pm.I couldnt be more pleased.

I wanted to get my husbands windows tinted and a new deck put in his car for FATHERSDay. I called 3 weeks ahead of time book an appointment. Spoke with Robert who is very friendly. Called back a week before the appointment to possibly change appointment date from Friday to Thursday . Again spoke with Robert and he advised that it was cool to come Thursday because nobody was booked. Today is Thursday and when I showed up at my appointment time. Just had my Subie STI windows tinted with 3M Crystalline. It was quick and very professionally done. Thanks for the awesome service!

I did my research and decided I wanted 3M Crystalline on my windows. It has the best heat rejection while still having good visibility. I found Sunshades through the 3M website as an authorized dealer. Got my windows tinted for a great price, about $350 LESS than what Custom Sounds (another 3M Crystalline authorized dealer) quoted.Ive had the Crystalline (CR 40) for 4 months now and its great. Amazing heat rejection during the past hot summer days. Robert and his guys did a great job on the installation. Flawless as far as I can tell.Also, I just had my back window broken and he re-did the tint for free because it was under warranty. That was a great surprise to not have to shell out more money. I would highly recommend Austin Sunshades. Ill probably go back before the next summer and have the front windshield done (with either CR90 or CR70) for complete UV protection.

Robert has been my window tint guy for a long time. Over the past 20 years or so I have had several 5th generation El Caminos, with the narrow, curved and sloped rear window. Robert has tinted about five or six of them for me, (even some when he was employed elsewhere). I still have three of the cars and the tint is still in great shape for being over ten-fifteen years old. Hes also pretty smart when it comes to installing and fixing electrical accessories on cars. He gets a lot of cars in that have been to several other shops with problems they either couldnt figure out or caused. Hes the kind of guy who takes pride in his work and does it right the first time. Great work ethic, attitude and awesome customer service.

Robert & his team did an awesome job upgrading the sound system in our travel trailer. They replaced all the stock speakers and added a subwoofer & two amplifiers to power everything. We were able to keep the stock head unit in order to maintain its unique RV functionality, but even with such a grossly under-powered unit, it sounds amazing. He completely delivered on my wish for a clean-sounding system with just enough bass to round out the low end without sounding booming and muddy. It looks great, too-- everything is neatly hidden; without turning it on, youd barely notice any changes... until you have a listen!
