I saw Dr Matt in an emergency when my regular dentist was unavailable. On a Friday by himself, he repaired two broken front teeth with no knowledge or x-rays of how they appeared previously. He did a solid job that was further perfected on a subsequent visit, and has been my regular dentist ever since. His knowledge and passion of the trade is unparalleled in my experience, with an enjoyable personality that all of his staff share as well.

This team is very experienced and super nice. They also have some pretty hi-tech equipment -- needed a crown and walked out with the permanent one an hour later (they 3D printed it on-site!), instead of needing a temporary crown, waiting three weeks, and going back in to install the permanent crown. Finally found my Austin dentist :)

Every visit to this office is better than the previous one. Best Dentist and office staff hands down. Just had an amazing experience getting a crown done. Less than 2 hours start to finish at a price that was well below what I felt the service was worth. If you’re not happy with your current provider you should def give them your business. Parking is very easy in the garage right next to their door and they even validated my parking.

TOP NOTCH OUTFIT. Staff is super helpful and friendly. They were able to answer every question I had on procedures and seemed interested in what was best for me as a patient, which is refreshing. I havent been able to step foot in a dentists office after a traumatic experience about 4 years ago. It took a lot of help and support from friends, family and an awesome acupuncturist (Anne Cusick) to get me through the door. Dr. Matt and his amazing and supportive staff did the rest. They were patient and sensitive, attentive to my issues. They gave me all the time I needed. We started slow with a simple (painless and fast!) cleaning a few weeks ago that gave hope I could move beyond my fear. Today I had an old mercury filling removed and replaced with a porcelain one. I feel that with their help I turned a corner on my phobia and put my traumatic experience behind me. I highly recommend these folks. They are top-notch. And they have great taste in music too.

Indispensable service from the front desk today. I walked in after a weekend with my boys to see if a chair was open for a whitening. Only the second brittening in my lifetime. I have my wedding coming up in a few weeks and want to look my best for my wife to be. I tried other spots but they were by appointment only so was very thankful to get a chair. The glo process was gentle and both the tunes playing and the dental hygienist kept me at ease. 7 shades brighter!I would return there the next time my path takes me through Austin.

I had such a great experience and teeth cleaning at Authentic Smiles! Krystal Sisson’s level of dental hygiene expertise and education was extremely evident!! She was very informative about the teeth cleaning process and my teeth specifically. I learned things about my teeth that I had never been told in all my years of dental care. I left there with very clean feeling teeth and a sense of security that I was going to receive thorough dental care for my future.

I recently switched from a dentist I had been using for nearly 20 years. I feel like I stepped out of the past into the future. I had a crown put on and I had it all done within an hour. They made the crown WHILE I was in the chair. No coming back for a 2nd visit a week later. I had no idea a dental office could be so efficent, high tech and friendly all in one very nice bundle. Im cannot give them enough stars for this level of experience.

This place is fantastic. I discovered Authentic Smiles after my jaw popped out of place during a tonsillectomy and I was trying to find someone who would help me IMMEDIATELY. Out of the dozens of places I called, they were by far the sweetest. Squeezed me in right away, without an appointment, and took care of me like I was family. We are in the process of treating my TMJ and I’ve seen a huge improvement so far. Everybody there is warm and welcoming. There’s not a soul there who would ever make you feel judged, rushed or uncomfortable. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Cannot recommend them enough for your dental work!

Shane Matt, D.D.S., at Authentic Smiles really knows his stuff: he knows the history, and the fact from the fiction. He set me on the right track. Hes also a great guy and supportive member of the community here in Austin; the coolest dentist since Doc Holliday, really, not to mention a far superior dentist to Doc (who, lets face it, lived in the stone age as far as dentistry was concerned). Aside from that, the office staff are very knowledgeable and personable, and you really feel welcome and well taken care of; top notch all around.

Shane Matt is by far the best dentist I have ever had! I have been having TMJ problems and his technique to fix it is amazing! He was able to graph and show me exactly what was going on with my bite causing this intense pain. I was helped immediately without pills or medicine. He did TENS on me and I slept like a baby throughout the night. I hadnt slept in 5 days. I am actually excited to get fitted for my orthodontic appliance that I know is going to help! In 24 hours he has done what no other dentist or Dr could fix. I am so happy to not be on steroids and muscle relaxers and get REAL advice to know what is really going on with my bite causing this.

I have known Dr. Abena Asare for several years. When I found out she was going to open her own practice, I was thrilled. She and her staff are courteous, prompt, professional, and beyond anything else, great people. My teeth always feel great after a dental visit, but they seemed extra clean and smooth after my first visit to Dr. Asares new office. It is really neat, as a fellow small business owner, to see another small business thriving and providing personalized service that we should demand on a daily basis but rarely get anymore. Best Dentist and Dental Practice in all of Austin!

Dr. Asare recently started her practice in Austin after being an army dentist for the last several years. I initially went to her because of a Groupon and ended up having her do a lot of dental work for me. She was conscientious, caring and thorough. Between the Army and Columbia Dental School, Dr. Asare has the skills to handle just about any situation. Best of all, she worked with my insurance to make sure the work she did was affordable. Since shes new, shes a hidden gem but I have a feeling shell be discovered by Austinites soon enough.
